Great News Day Jazzy!
-
That is awesome Jazzy!!!!
-
Thanks JazzyJune and Mommy- going to the zoo tonight for some stellar jazz with Earl klugh with a friend tonight! Time to par-tay!
-
No, don't confuse me! JunieB is JunieB. You are Jazzy, Jazzygirl. I had appointment with my MO this morning too and don't need to see her until January. We had a good chat. Mammo this September on the remaining one. Have fun tonight.
Eeyore and Mominator, always nice to hear from you.
Just finished watching the Life of Pi with Ms. S.. Amazing how many details I missed the first time around.
JunieB, what's in Biofreeze? I wonder if it will work on Mitzy
-
Howdy! I've been trying to update my newish pc to Windows 10 since 8 last night. Tech guy just left and fixed the modem - the dang interwebs connection kept disconnecting. Am attempting to download the updates again..... argh!
Thank Dog for my tablet ☺
Sassyfrass ~ Don't stay away so long! We worry you may have gotten trapped in the back room of some lil' out of the way junk shop, or injured yourself during a marathon road trip to Essex, or accidentally immolated yourself (again)....... Stay HERE with us in the "laughing place" you created tucked away in the briar patch. Br'er Chevy is here again (yay!) and I'm sure she'd fix you one of her chocolate Cokes 💗
Jazzy ~ Happy, happy day for sure! 🎆
Loverly ~ Is today the movie day? So wish we could all hang-out together. Big ((hugs)) to you, Sensi, and Smaarty. Have Fun!
-
Loverly ~ Just saw your post. Yay, good doctor day for you too! Tell, tell, thoughts on the movie? I saw it the first time in 3D.... it was so beautiful to look at but a little overwhelming too. When I watched it again with FFH it was the regular picture and I was also able to pick up on other things.
JunieB ~ I usually use rubbing alcohol and then vinegar on bug bites and stings. BioFreeze would be so much easier! I need to try and find some. I am still mostly trapped in the house. I've gone out a few times to dinner with family and for visits. I get sooo aggravated that my back and hips will start to hurt so easily. Still waiting on surgery date. My foot is getting better. I wore for real shoes for the first time in 5 weeks the other day woohoo! Love my Skechers! Enough of me.... whatever happened with your test results? We all know your heart is perfect and strong. Did the tests confirm it? Are you breathing any better? Have you gotten the puffies to go away? If I even have a speck of salt I blow up like crazy. I was bad and salted up over the weekend and gained almost 10 pounds of water. The good thing about getting sick after my infusion was I lost 6 of those pounds, ha!
Lookie ~ Just tell me when and I'll make sure that chair is waiting for you on the beach. The be ocean water is 85 degrees here!
Eeyore ~ My tired eyes thought you had written that you liked looking at HUSKY men! I was temporarily delighted 😀
Wenchie - My pear trees have been full of baby Raccies! Are yous still visiting or will they have to wait for you to resume the "feed-me-lady" duties?
Big waves to everyone.... gotta do stuffs bbl 🐈
-
yay jazz and lover...love to hear good news. Enjoy that furniture tomorrow jazz:)
-
Junie I will keep you in mind about the bio freeze.
Shep I would love to be in 85 degree water. We live in the prairies and have very little water around us.
We had an eight hour drive today to attend my nephews wedding this weekend, should be fun. Nice to see family.
-
Just popping in to say hi all. Still lurking. Smaarty and Lover, sorry I missed you today. Lots going on. Finally decided to do the chemo, and still trying to decided if I made the right choice. Had my chemo class today and have my first session on August 10th at 1:30. Have to be off work for 3 months because I work in healthcare
. Was just getting back into the swing of things at work. On the bright side, Chance will love having me at home. Let's just hope I don't go crazy.
Have a great weekend all.
-
hi Sensi, sorry we missed you. Sensi and wenchie, There must be another thread here about what to take for chemo treatments. I have a friend that took a lap quilt with her because it's always cold in the room. Hard candy with ginger is suppose to help with the taste.
Sensi, let me know if you need a ride, you shouldn't go by yourself. I've got no plans so I should be available. Your mom or sis the first time?
Jazzy, post a pic of you with the he new patio, drums and a chocolate coke on the table!
Susan, how you feeling?
Bbl
-
Sensi ~ Wenchie started a topic ER+ with no ovaries??? that became an excellent resource for nutritional supplements when eating is difficult. I learned some good stuffs there! I am not much for eating, even when I feel goodish. I keep a hard butterscoth candy in my mouth during CTs 'cuz I hate the "taste" of the contrast in the IV. Not sure if it would help for chemo? You are choosing to "fight" for your life - you done good!
Susan ~ Hope you are nice and cozy resting at home. If you get your mom's pup, what will Shelby think? Marti likes puppies but gets bossy 😒
HiHo ~ How are you? How did the meeting with the surgeon go? Are we going to have a "race" to see who gets glued back together first 😋
-
sensi, if you have any questions about chemo, pm me any time. I have been on many of them. Know some tricks for some to get through a bit easier. Been on them straight for almost 6 years now. And one 16 yrs ago. I don't have all the info, but I got a lot. I have had luck with them, pray you do too.
My dog is 15... If I get this pup, I will keep them separated. Don't want Shelby tortured at this age
She is snuggling in bed with me today.
Night night all

Loverly - NO Biofreeze for Mitzy! It is a gel pain reliever for muscles & joints of humans.
The ingredients are as follows:
- Active Ingredient: Menthol 3.5%
- Inactive Ingredients: Camphor (for scent), carbomer, FD&C blue #1, FD&C yellow #5, Glycerine, Herbal Extract (ILEX Paraguariensis), Isopropyl Alcohol, Methylparaben, Propylene Glycol, Silicon Dioxide, Triethanolamine, Water.
Hooman use only. No Animals.
-
Shep - Doctor called with Echo results today. She said that it looked ok, but for some unexplainable reason I get the feeling that maybe there were some changes, but not huge enough to freak out. I didn't get to speak to her, but will see her on the 3rd. Swelling is still a problem. Yesterday at P.T. when I was doing the balance stuff, I caught a glimpse of my legs in the mirror. Left one was double the size of the right. Yikes! Came home and took a Lasix, elevated my legs and did a lot of knitting.
Today, I went to volunteer for the first time since surgery and call me crazy, but I decided to walk the 3/4 of a mile across the pedestrian bridge over the Willamette River. It was 97 degrees and quite humid. The exercise was good for me though. Even if it was HOT.
So, how did it feel to have that shoe on for the first time? Any news in regards to when you can have the procedure for your back?
Loverly - Yeah! Happy Happy Day for you too.
Jazzy - For sure you must share pics of the new patio furniture. Maybe with a couple of Wenchie's A/C guys lounging with chocolate cokes for Chevy :0) HeHeHe
Susan - Still praying for your puppy situation.
Good nite Ladies. Have a great weekend.
-
Just woke up and got my coffee!
-
Jazz, how does lasix help. I have swelling too. Wondering if I missed something out there that would help.
Get to see Elena tomorrow
first shoes ! She loves sucking her bottom lip right now.
-
Elena is getting cuter everyday! Adorable!
Jazzy, my A/C guys are busy today but I found someone to help with your patio furniture!
-
-
a little birdy said it was Sass' birthday.
-
Mags,
-
Teka, that's awful. What a face!
I like this better.
Left message for Saasy, haven't heard back.
Going out to dinner tonight at our favorite Mexican restaurant with some friends to celebrate our 29th anniversary (which is tomorrow). Maria is making her super sized heart shaped flan for us.
I'm scheduled to have a PET scan Tuesday to get a baseline for faslodex tx. Last scan was April. Then CT in 2 months to see if it's working. If yes then continue indefinitely.
My niece is flying in from NYC this week. She's going to be hopping around to see her cousins and high school buddies but will stay here a few days later this week. Then in 2 weeks my oldest sister and her hubby are coming for a week. I haven't seen my niece or sister in 5 years, so pre-BC. Not sure what they expect. Oh well.
I find these days that I just don't want to think. I don't want to think about my life and whether it has had any meaning. Don't want to think about what I need to do. Don't want to think, or feel, anything. People expect me to be all emotional and teary but I'm not. Nothing has really changed. And yet everything has
-
Mags.... It's okay.... Just don't do whatever you don't want to do..... and don't let anyone talk you into anything that you don't feel like doing. We all go through those days... weeks..... even months.
Wish I could give you a big hug.... Is that your kitten? So sweet.... You take care of yourself, and have fun tonight... We are thinking of you...... Okay? xoxo
-
Mags- I am sorry to hear about your progression. I remember being with you on the Hermits thread when you were in treatment. You don't need to put your energy into others and what they think you should be feeling or doing.
Enjoy your dinner at your favorite Mexican place, your evening out, and your company this week.
-
Mags....
Just put your fingers in your ears.
Eat some flan for me. Have a blessed night out.
-
Beautiful kitten Mags. X
-
have fun mags
Happy birthday sas !!!
I am suppose to be getting a bone scan...dragging my feet....I don't wanna, I don't wanna, I don't wanna. As I am stomping my feet !!
-
Susan, Elena has her daddy's look. She is adorable! Ugh, the anxiety that comes with scans. Hope you get the puppy from your brother. The poor thing needs love.
JunieB, thank you for the info on the Biofrreze. I see methylparabene which is not good for us human. And thank you for responding to my question regarding MacBook. I have decided to exchange the laptop for my daughter to the one with Retina display. She will be doing a lot of reading on the laptop, so I figured the Retina display will help prevent strained eyes. Textbooks might become obsolete soon. I was wondering about your echocardiogram result too. So no enlarged heart or bad ejection fraction huh? Don't you hate it when your body is trying to tell you something is wrong and they can't find what's wrong? I'm glad test is normal though.
Sensi, I am sorry you couldn't join us. I told Ms. S you probably had a lot on your plate. No worries, next time. I can be your back up chauffeur to the infusion center or doc visit. Just holler and don't be shy about it. Mitzy would have love to have a visit with you. She balked at Ms. S for a little bit, but warmed up really quickly to her. I was so happy she felt comfortable enough to fall asleep right next to her.
Here is a picture of her politely greet our guest.
ShepK, I need to write a different post for the movie. Gosh, it will take me a few hours. This is one of the moments when I wish words could flow out easily from my mind.
-
Mags ~ Jazzy and Chevy are sooo right! Do what is best for you, don't worry about letting anyone down. The most important thing for your visiting family will be just to be with you - to see you, to hug you. The visits I've had with my friends and family who have come to visit since my DX have been the best. No pressures to rush and do things, no feelings of trying to keep each other constantly entertained. We just take things as they come, no grand plans, doing whatever we feel up to. My Bestie still refers to our naptime on my back patio a few years ago as the best day ever 🙂
Cancer sucks. Stage IV sucks......so not thinking is okay, not feeling is okay.....take a break when you need too. Just don't break away too long. There are still things to make you laugh, warm your heart, fill you with hope, inspire you.....lots and lots of good stuff is still all around you.
Have a wonderful dinner tonight! Happy Anniversary 🥂
(((hugs))) ❤
-
Susan3: stomp away. It's all weight-bearing exercise--good for bones.
And happy birthday, Sas, wherever you are.
-
Susan ~ I actually kinda look forward to my bone scans. My tech has her machine in a corner office with big windows overlooking a salt-marsh. The room is soft white and the only sounds are from the gentle whirring of the fan in the corner or sometimes some peaceful low music. The "bed" is comfy and I am swaddled in a cozy blanket to keep me comfy and still while being scanned. Very peaceful and relaxing. Lovely napping.......
Elena looks to have some mischief in those pretty eyes 😊
Smaarty & Mitzy! Awwweee....
Loverly ~ curious as to what you will write? Wish I could type as fast as I think too.
Teka ~ That kitty is so sad 😿
Mags ~ We need more pics of your happy kitty!
Wenchie ~ OMD.......I need to move. Right now. Something. Anything. Right Now!
Feline ~ My cousin-in-law and his family just returned from the wedding of his wife's brother in Dublin. He was telling me how wonderful Ireland was. I asked him if they went anywhere beyond Dublin. His reply? "Oh yes! We visited this really beautiful little seaside town called Wicklow!" They really enjoyed their time there. I'm hoping they will share some photos!
JunieB ~ I surely will call you crazy! All that walking and PT and working......slow down girl! Is the Lasix helping at all? My go-to list includes cranberry juice, sweet tea, hot tea, mint tea and Simply Juice Raspberry Lemonade. Hope the doctor will have some re-assuring news for you. I got tangled up in a kitty-doggie wrastling match last night. Luckily I was already sitting on the floor. Pris fights dirty! She was nipping at Marti's back feet and almost made her tumble....on me! Those two play like they are both puppies!
M0mmy ~ keeping cool today?
Lookie ~ Where is the wedding? Hope you're having a fun time!
Hey to everyone!
