M0mmy ~ That grit scene was great! I want to be just like Madea when I grow up 😀. We actually got to see Tyler Perry performing as Madea live onstage in one of his plays. Aunt Bam was there too! What a talented group of people! Tyler Perry is soooo funny. He breaks from the scene and makes comments to the audience. He adlibs a lot too and the other actors are able to just follow right along..... The plays are all great; I have them all on DVD

Well, Lover, you were the one who found Ms. Chevy's iron skillet in the first place. And you think I might have a mischievous child waiting to get out? Maybe you're a bad influence on us!

Shepkitty, best breakfast ever!! I love how she really enjoyed every bite of that breakfast! Hmm, Lover, maybe several of us have mischievous children in us if we all can appreciate the wife enjoying that breakfast.

Interesting side note, Alan Ball, creator and writer of Six Feet Under also was in counseling during the production of Six Feet Under. His therapist would watch the show and sometimes ask Alan "is there something we need to talk about?"

Mominator- I binge watched the entire series of Six Feet Under when it was on HBO a month or so ago. Just loved it, but thought the same thing. What was going on with the writer?

As I age, I am finding I am becoming more like Madea. She isn't afraid to tell it like it is!

Or what you DO is, turn your back on them, and flounce yourself right out the door! You can hold your hand high up in the air, towards them, like "tell it to the hand"... And if a cooling off period doesn't help, get out that skillet AND 2X4....

Grandma probably would have hit Grandpa over the head with a whiskey bottle!

Jazzy and other fans of Six Feet Under, you may want to check out this "Life and Loss: The Impact of Six Feet Under" this is the first of three videos, the creator and actors are interviewed. Also, funeral directors give their opinions of the show.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzoIpasRAvI

The show always started with a death, sometimes simple, sometimes bizarre (the friend of Nate who ran over himself), sometimes the death was part of the story, other times it was peripheral. Apparently, the creator and writers "collected" ways of dying to use in future shows.

When I watched the show when it first aired 2001-2005, it was just a show for me. Now, I've lost too many people and it hits me hard.

Mominator ~ ahhh, how our experiences can totally change our perspective of things. I loved that "breakfast" clip, but I don't know if I could watch the show. Back in the "before", yes.

As for FFH.....Skillets and 2x4s are heavy and require a good swinging arm. Plus, my house is messy enough. I'll just stick with the 4x4 in the driveway - ha!

M0mmy ~ was your DH always such a sweetheart or did you have to train him?

    Chevy ~ you ARE Madea!

Susan ~ You have a mean streak too? Yay! And yes, you are the Iron Lady. Painting for 8 hours....OMD. That is work! What did you mean by "cutting" the room? Accent walls or a special mix of paint? And Cousin wants all those different surfaces painted in different colors? Pictures please! Love to see how other folks put things together. Ooooh and a super close up of the super cutie 💜

Sensi ~ Chance is such a handsome, happy boy! I smile every-time I see him 😊

Smaarty ~ ummmmmm nice Joe 😍

Patty ~ has the darned pain monster backed off? My back is ucky, but it is always my stupid hip that pushes me to the breaking point. All the advances in science, why can't they figure out a way to turn off those certain pain receptors? So happy for you that you got some time in the pool :)

MammaRay ~ Thinking of you 🙏

HiHo ~ Hoping your doctoring has gone well ((hugs))

Mags ~ Sending happy thoughts and healing prayers . Praying for more kitten pics too 😺

Loverly ~ Hope all is well with DH. I looked up Ecuador - they have some good PR folks! Lots of info on lovely hotels and beautiful historic sites. Hope he will get to enjoy some of the nicer things there. Is your little wayward driver behaving? Gosh, they have no idea how much we worry! And what fireman was pantless? I looked at Chevy's fire brigade a bunch of times.....

JunieB ~ Another Iron Lady.....walking all over the world! I'll bet your surgeon was impressed with your progress - wow! Cool about the movie discount. We only have Cinemark and Carmike here. They both are doing $5 tickets for Tuesdays all day. Ghostbusters was good? Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are both sooo funny! Love them on SNL.

Jazzy ~ Almost patio furniture time?

    Zills + Feline = Awesome!

    Hey Wren!

    Hey Lookie!

    Hey Everyone!

Off to start prepping for tomorrow.........follow-up with MO and Nuero-Onc. DS drove Monday, stuck with FHH for Friday. Thhhhpppp.

Yes! I LOVE Madea! Hah! I have been watching that series FRANKIE AND GRACE! It is hysterical. My oldest Daughter turned me on to it, on Netflix. It's free for the first month, and then only $8 a month! And I watch it on my big-screen computer! It has Jane Fonda & Lilli Tomlin, and they find out their Husbands love each other, and their lives thereafter! What a hoot! Also Martin Sheen, and I forget the other guys name....

Have any of you seen the series? And what else do you like?

Sassy ~ Thank goodness you and Mags were able to solve all the world's problems Saturday You never did give an update on your poor nose. You didn't get an infection did you? Hope Donnie is taking good care of you.❤

On the Vitamin D.....JunieB has got my low score beat big time! Yikes. My low was 21.4 on 1/26/15. Bloodwork on 6/8/16 shows 52.2. 30.0 - 100.0 ng/mL is the targeted range used by my MO's lab. I currently take 4,000 IU spread through out the day. I am going to ask about increasing at MO tomorrow.

    M0mmy ~ Hurray! 🥂

Chevy ~ Netflix is great! I love Lily Tomlin...need to check that show out. We just finished watching the Netflix series Stranger Things. It was good! It was as if Steven Spielberg and Stephen King made a show together. Scary, funny, suspenseful, nostalgic....really fun to watch. The Dare Devil series is really good too. For funny stuff they have all the shows from Parks and Recreation, Arrested Development....too many shows to remember! Cool thing about Netflix is you can play it on your tablet or smartphone too

SusieM ~ Hope all went well with surgury and you have a nice comfy recovery.

Chevy - dh, dd, & I all love Netflix. they also have other "channels" you can watch - lots of free ones & others for extra $. we've tried all the other options (Dish, Comcast, etc.) but netflix has more than any other and you can't beat it for the price.

    Good Evening Ladies,

Today I had an appt. with Palliative Care. My BP was high 182/87. My arms, legs & feet are swollen, plus I've gained 10 lbs. in the last 3 weeks. I've also been experiencing SOB, which I thought was related to my asthma. Doctor put me on another 3 day dose of Lasix, plus I have an Echo Cardiogram scheduled for tomorrow. Hopefully that 10 lbs. is all fluid. Certainly don't need to add a Cardiac problem to my list too.

Today was day 15 of 21 on the Ibrance, but I had to stop it because my ANC has dropped to 0.91. With all of this and the stress related to my Mother, I just don't know what to think. However I have come to one decision, and that is that I will no longer keep quiet about what I've learned about my Father and that I am in contact with my Sister just because it might/will upset my Mother. If she chooses to stop talking to me, so much the better for me. I refuse to spend whatever time I have left on this earth in constant turmoil over someone who will NEVER approve of anything I do anyway and takes such pleasure in being cruel too.

Ok, I'm done now. I hope everyone else is having a better Thursday.

JunieB ~ So sorry about the Ibrance. Can you re-start it later on? As for your Mother, I would not tell her shite. Nada, nothing. You are in the beginning of a very special relationship with your Sister. Don't tell Mother anything! She takes such delight in hurting you - don't give her that power. Close that door, seal it shut and hide it behind a concrete wall.

Mominator- I am with you at the moment, too many losses. Was very sad when Blondie left us and a friend where I live passed last week. Funeral for him tomorrow. I will come back to that though.

Shepkitty- you are right on track sister, patio store said it should be here next Wed. Then they will look it over, must go pay for other half and get it delivered. Hope to get it here by next weekend if possible. Fingers crossed!

Thanks Shep! I like the saying you posted. I'll be off the Ibrance until at least August 4th. See MO on the 3rd and they'll do blood work then to see if my count has gone back up. The count was down like this before surgery and I had to stop the Ibrance for 3 weeks before & 2 weeks after surgery. It may be that I'll have to start a regimen of 2 weeks on, then 2 weeks off. Will talk with MO next time.

Jazzygirl - Yeah! the patio party is just around the bend. Something exciting to look forward to. Hope all goes well with the delivery of your new furniture.

Off to bed now. Sleep well everyone.

JazzBug.... I don't know what SOB is... I always thought it was something else....Not even ANC!!! I am not good with technical terms...

See, we go all our lives trying to please our Mother's.... even when they don't really want our appreciation, or could not care less... But we don't see that until we are much older.... They are all we have, so we hold on, just hanging in there.... It never changes.... But we accept it because we don't know any different........ Even after they are gone... You think.... " wish I had good memories, had at least something to hold onto, that showed me she cared... " We look for love and caring from other people... and that's okay.

And Shep is right! Don't tell her NOTHIN'.... Nobody's business... People are in our lives for a Reason, or a Season, or a Lifetime.... Is that how it goes? So your Mom's "season" is over...Your Sister is your new guardian angel... She is in your life for a reason.... Just like we are.

Thanks for the tips on Net-flix Shep & MM! I copied the names of the shows you mentioned! Soooooooo hot here also... Gotta play outdoors in the early mornings, before it gets to be 100....... You know? Snow sounds good about now!!!

M0mmy Congratulations and best wishes with your studies. Mature students have the edge with discipline, motivation and experience. 2 grown up ladies in my area just finished their hons degrees, both got 1.1s. They left the 18 year olds in the dust.

Feline ~ How true! Grown up folks have much more incentive to do well with their studies. My Step-Son totally wasted his 1st two years of college. He had gone straight after high school . He grew up and realized how important a degree is. He was promoted to a position at his workplace that usually requires a college degree. Once he saw the usual pay rate for that position, he was re-inspired to return to school! He works full time and takes classes on campus or online. He is a great student now!

More importantly.....Did Zils get to meet Sir Arthur? Did he treat her with royal disdain or did he allow her a brief chin rub?

Chevy ~ I think these girls make up half of their "abbreviations". Wenchie had me so confused about all her FU's. I thought she was fixin' for a throw down! "Moms season is over" Very well said. That's from the Good Book isn't it? "For everything there is a season" JunieB, you can't argue with scripture! Shows on Netflix....still thinking of 'em all, FFH looooves the old Andy Griffith Show. And not only because it's a "cop" show. Although he does have a few Barney Fife's he has to keep in line in real life...... Parks and Recreation might be my all time favorite TV comedy. I so wish it was still on! I never much cared for Amy Poelher but I now adore her! Chris Pratt got his start on the show and there are many "big" names who make appearances. AbFab is my fave comedy from England - those gals are crazy! The 100 is a wicked good show too. It's science fiction and an action packed drama too. Wonderful character development. Adam Sandler has a cute movie on there The Cobbler. What are some of the other shows you like?

ooops.............gotta scramble for heck ride with old Fart Face to see my docs for FU's 😛Ha!

sheps, cutting a room is doing the edges...especially with all the different colors. Prob won't get pics. Most like what she does cause it's her. Black walls, Green walls, white walls, eggshells, and flat finishes. Ceiling green and white....then there is the leopard print stuff everywhere.....looks cool, but I couldn't live with it.

And yes I have a very very mean streak.......what I don't have is boundaries. Started with a new counselor last week, mine retired. About every 5 months my bucket overflows and I need to purge. This new counselor wants to work on that not being a recurrence all the time. Boundaries and learn to say no. I don't know, can you teach an old dog new tricks?? We will see. But I did like her:)

    Happy Friday to all:)

All the surgery gals....pray all is going well for you guys.

All you gals on new treatments, praythat they are gentle for you

Everyone else, go out and have fun today :)
