So...whats for dinner?
Comments

Ok, that's better.
And here's Sally with one of the kitties:
Sally - I'm willing to come to RI anytime!!! If you PM me your email address, I'll send you the full-size version of these two pictures.
-
Michelle, I can see everyone, is there a side bar on the bottom of the page to move it over more on your puter? Your picture is nice and clear.
-
Deb - that is weird. I even tried changing my zoom down from 125% to 100% and I still can't see the whole thing. And no scroll bar to move it over either. That explains why no one else had commented...lol!
-
-
Now I can see Pat!
-
Why, oh why did I not pluck those eyebrows? lol That's what 2 -12 days followed by a 10 hour day will do to you. It was *wicked* fun! I bought real maple syrup and burts bees cuticle cream at Parkers. I know, I know, you're all jealous about the cuticle cream! Too bad, I don't have enough for all of you! :O
-
Nice photo! I recognize some of you but not all. Can someone name everyone from left to right. Thanks. Looks like everyone had a great time!
-
Oh i just love the pictures of all of you. you all look so georgous and look like you are having a great time. And Bedo your eyebrows look just fine LOL! Thanks for posting these Deb and Michelle!
Joyce-Yippeee! I am so happy for you thats what you have been waiting for and now its earlier than you thought. (((((hugs)))))) What brand of frozen pizza do you buy?
-
bedo, hauntie, deb, michelle and pat!
-
Kaara- Lets see if i get this right i always confuse pat and sally- Bedo is sally, lacey is pat Hauntie id linda and because of there pics you already know deb and Michelle hope i got it right
-
Michelle- I forgot to say how beautiful your hair is can't believe how much it has grown since your chemo it looks so thick too!
-
Our former neighbors sent us this picture of our house with the eastern redbuds in bloom. It looks like the pear tree on the right side of the picture bloomed a couple weeks ago as the flowers are gone and the leaves are appearing. (((Sigh))) I do miss this house. If it was practical, we would pick it up and move it here. The outside was painted after I left for NH and I have never seen it this color. It was yellow when I left. The blue-grey seems very serene.
-
Thanks, Debbie! Yes, I do have a nice "mess" of curls on my head!
-
Michelle- What a beautiful home i can see why you miss it although living on the lake is pretty nice too, Those trees are georgous are they wisteria?
-
And it was delish.

Debbie - they are eastern redbud trees, very common in the midwest. Yes, living on the lake is wonderful. Now if I could move that house to the lake, wouldn't that just be perfection!!!
-
omgosh.. you are all so cute!
-
Debbie, Michelle has fun curls! They're springy! She indulged me by letting me pull them out straight and letting them go, multiple times! They sprung right back! They are shiney and cute! She probably thinks I'm a big weirdo.
-
Haha, Sally!!! That was pretty funny! Yup, those curls are definitely springy!!!
-
Hey, did anyone notice that we are on page 201!!! Once again, thanks to Laurie for starting my favorite discussion thread here on BCO! And thanks to everyone for being part of this great group! Someday I hope to meet each and everyone of you.
-
Michelle,
I did notice we have passed the 200 page mark.... And I find it very fitting that the last couple of posts on page 200 were about the get-together at Pickety Place...... -
Deb- That menu sounds so good, i would of ordered the top one but with the chocolate canoli instead of the crepe. yummm!
Michelle- I had never heard of red buds before but they sure are beautiful.
Bedo- LOL you are so funny i can just vision seeing you do that too LOL!
Seaside- Hi and i agree!
-
Yes, Michelle, I did notice that page milestone last night when we moved onto the big "200".
I too felt thankful to Laurie....and I do hope things went peacefully for you today, Laurie. I'm sure it was difficult.
That drive to Pickity was quite the long trip, but well worth it! The food was delightful, the atmosphere quaint......and we appreciated the patient server who took our pix with many cameras! I loaded up on gifts from the cute gift shop and from Parker's Maple Barn and Sugar House. Wish I had taken some pix of the beautiful views we saw while driving from Pickity to Parker's.
Michelle, I can see why you miss that house! Could you ever have one built here in the same style?
When I got home late today, I quickly put together a kale salad with carrots, scallions, sliced mushrooms, pecans, and cranberries in a garlic/vinaigrette (sp?) to bring next door to my neighbors who had invited us to have dinner and watch basketball. She is Lebanese and a wonderful cook. We had a ton of hors d'ourvres and baked salmon with asparagus, a barley and vegetable salad and my kale salad. We were quite sated!
A great day full of friends and food for me! -
What was in the Tuscan Canneloni Crepe?
-
Lacey- Glad you got home safe and sound. Your dinner with neighbors sounds great, Do you eat the kale raw or bake it for a salad? I just bought some kale the other night and wanted to do somthing different than the chips i make with them
-
Lacey - it would probably cost at least $750k, maybe more, to recreate that house in NH or MA. You get so much more for your money in the midwest. We can't sell it for $275k at the moment.
Deb - ground pork, some ricotta and some other yummy stuff in the canneloni crepe. It was a flavor explosion!
Debbie - here's more info on the redbud trees. They are not native to your area:
-
Sounds like you gals had a really great day! Wish I had been there. Thanks for the photo ID's...now I know the faces and names behind the posts...lol!
-
Debbie, I just wash the kale, remove the spines, spin it and cut bunches of it into roughly 1inch wide strips, then add whatever I want to make a certain flavor salad....e.g., the cranberry/ pecan one I mentioned yesterday, or one with cukes, red onion, kalamata olives, peppers, tomatoes, feta, with Greek dressing, whatever veggies and dressings you like. I usually try to let the dressed salad sit in fridge for at least an hour for folks who are shy about the denser texture of the leaves, but I take these salads to dinners at friends a lot, and always receive rave reviews. Google "kale salads" and you'll find lots of recipes. I do use lots of garlic in my dressings. My favorite thing about kale is that the "dressed" salad can go back in the fridge and last (in great form!) for even a couple of days unlike lettuce.....think " next day's lunch"!
I have yet to make kale chips....would love to know how you do that. Thanks! I'd probably like them to have a spicy flavor.
Boiling up some shrimp for a mid-day dinner today before DH and I head to the Celtics game.
Have a relaxing Sunday everyone! -
Lacey: That sounds good....I've used kale in smoothies and soups but I have yet to make a salad with it. It tasted kind of strong, but maybe as you say, if dressed and sitting in fridge it would be better. I'll definitely try it, because it is so good for me with my MD! Lots of lutein and other vitamins!
-
Michelle....yes the variations of house values is unbelievable...glad you can enjoy the lake.:)
Loved your Ruth Reichl -esque description of that tasty canneloni!
