Michelle- ARe you tired? LOL! Get some rest your lamb chops sounds yummy!
Apple- Wow you are amazing riding all those miles then going to work all day. You must get up pretty early to get so much done in one day wish i had half the energy that you do.
Seaside- I love tiramisu i make my own but the last time i made one the marscapone was bad and didnt know it until all the work i did was done. It kind of left a sour taste in my mouth.... lol I made a recipe book for my DD and DS one pink and one purple i put a lot of work into it for them it took me a couple of years, i worked on it off and on. I put memories in there with some of the recipes i had made with pictures too. It gave me great joy to do this for them.
Hauntie- I love the idea of the Gold awards.
-
kaara- I hope you are able to handle all the se of the tomoxifen i tryed all of them and couldnt tolerate them the bone pain was horrible for me- Hope they are kind to you
Lacey-Maybe they can change your tx plan to somthing else maybe you will tolerate another one better.
Speaking of beer and wine- I have a wine that me and DH got at a wine and spirtis show a couple of years ago, it is called... Pink Pousse i hate the name but it is funny the wine it self is real pink we have not opened it and dont think we ever will lol

Apple, caramel flan is wonderful. I used to make it for dd and her cousins when they were small. They all loved it, and since it was just eggs and milk, I figured it was nutritious for little kids
-
speaking of pie.. i am not a big creamy pie fan but do make this for the boyscout bakesale.
piecrust
peanut butter
cream cheese
powdered sugar
a bit of milk
and cool whip.
We have a rule.. only one pie per family and I make six to ten. I'll find a recipe - anymore, i just make a huge bowl with two huge jars of peanut butter, about 8 cream cheeses, 4 big tubs of cool whip and a big bag of powdered sugar.. must have mixer.
Everyone absolutely loves it... not my fave but it does really taste nutritious.. i suppose if you made it with real whipped cream it would be super good.
RECIPE
Ingredients 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar1 cup peanut butter1 cup milk1 (16 ounce) package frozen whipped topping, thawed2 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crustsDirections Beat together cream cheese and confectioners' sugar. Mix in peanut butter and milk. Beat until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Spoon into two 9 inch graham shells peace and love, apple - aka, Mary Magdalen

Here's a beer I saw recently. Don't care to taste it. Hope it doesn't offend anyone
Well I guess it won't, since I can't post it!
-
Was there supposed to be a picture of the beer, Sally?
Apple - that pie sounds decadent! One of those desserts where you need just the tiniest sliver.
DH is coming home later tonight. I'm going to waste away this day, maybe go to the casino. All by myself. I should stay home and figure out what to do with all the stuff we brought back from my son's place. But nope, not gonna do it. Gonna make myself happy today!
-
Happy Anniversary Deb!
-
Michelle- Yay to giving yourself a break! Hope you have a wonderful relaxing day
-
Michelle, YES give yourself a break! You are always doing for others...now take time for yourself. And win some money...that would be the icing on the cake.
Deb Congrats on the 5 year mark Wahooo! When I started on the Tamox and they said its for five years I remember thinking that five years is a long time, but I guess it will go by fast, right?
Apple you are truly an inspiration. I too need to attack the yard, but that is one of my passions working outside. I did not get the clearance from the doc to do any pushing or pulling yet and I really need to do some raking and picking up sticks before I can mow, kills me looking at it every day. Its my therapy and helps me sleep at night, getting all that fresh air.
Lacey I am tamox also, and I dont think it makes me tired, although I do have days where a nap is needed. Cant remember what surgery you had...maybe your body still recovering and telling you to rest.
My favorite wine Liquid Wisdom....there is actually a disclaimer on the bottle that states "drinking this wine will not make you smarter" he he I will try anything!
-
apple, that pb pie sounds yum. Bet it would be extra good topped with a ganach.
-
That peanut butter pie sounds so good i will make that for my dad when he comes up in a couple of weeks peanut butter is his favorite
-
some people put melted chocolate a real ganache would be tres excellente

mmmm chocolate ganash. My brother (if you can believe it) makes an incredible cake covered in chocolate ganash. I guess he got the baking talent inthe family
-
-
And I think making a ganache is actually easier than melting chocolate.
-
WOW...does that cake ever look good! I got the all clear on my thermography today, so maybe I should treat myself to a piece:-)
-
Hi - Lotsa dinners gone by since I laast posted but I have read some pages here and there. Tonight, wheat angel hair pasta w gr chuck, onion, peppers - all organic, don't do a lot of red meat but Hubby's night off.
Carrie- lake people unite, I chose this lake becz of the name, I was just drawn to it because of the kootz (water ducks to those who do not know) but DD said, it is KOONTZ and had I ever read him? and no, no I had not, she ruined it for me LOL
-
MMMMM that cake looks soooo very good!!
Kaara- Yay!!! Yes, definately and have more than one
-
I agree Kaara treat yourself!!
Tonight I am trying chicken Picatta....we'll see how it turns out....
-
Yum cake!
Apple, do you speak different languages too? My daughter is bilingual, but I am not. I am looking at crazy places to retire. (My pastime) I'm thinking Belize...
I lost my cell phone today. No great loss, it was about $30, but all my contacts are lost.

Who knew that crows could make sounds like this. I wonder what they're saying? Thank you, Apple!

Also, does anyone know if I should refridgerate the Coconut Oil that I bought at Whole Foods for skin care and stuff? I've been leaving it out in the bathroom as a moisturizer. Thanks!
-
Thanks everyone = 5 years did go by fast. I really didn't get any SE from Arimidex until a few years ago, but Advil did the trick.
I don't remember the last time I baked a cake, don't plan to make any sweets for a long time, my glucose was slightly elevated, probably too much carbs.
-
Congratulations, Deb! I'm about 2 1/2 yrs. on Arimidex and my SEs are manageable, mostly hot flashes. Effexor helps.
Apple, I can well believe you were always full of energy. I used to have a fair amount of energy. I would work in my home office most of the day (I was a writer), and go out in the late afternoon to do gardening. I would finish up about 8pm and then eat dinner as late as 9pm. Now I'm ready to pack it in and have a martini at 5 pm. Dinner at 7 or 7:30. I wonder if part of my fatigue isn't mental.
I don't make desserts and never have been interested in making them. I'm always trying to lose weight and avoid eating sugar. But I think I'll make a chocolate layer cake with chocolate icing for Easter. On a whim, I bought some cake mixes and icing on sale a few months ago.

I see a lot of gals mentioning Oncotype Dx scores, I never had that test. Maybe they thought my tumors were too small. I keep forgeting to ask my onc. I wlll see her June 21 along with a mam and f/u with my BS. Three appts in one day. Guess who is taking that day off.
-
laurie, love the tasty looking cake and the cute little approaching hand...LOL
just typed a few things only to have them erased in a snafu...so will try another time...too tired to stay up. -
Deborye - I didn't have the Oncotype test either. BS said it wasn't necessary.
Just got back from a wonderful trip to Northern California to see my DS, my DIL & my granddog. They live in Novato but I managed to hit San Francisco on the ferry for lunch at Tadish Grill, Tiburon, the lighthouse at the Marin Headlands, Hamilton AFB (retired), Pacifica to listen to the pounding waves all night, down to Menlo Park on the Penninsula, etc. I ate 4-6 pieces of REAL sourdough bread with every possible meal and brought home three mini-boule loafs from Boudin. We won't discuss the extra 5 lbs since I hadn't been there in 2 years. Had wonderful Dungeness crab cakes, Petrale sole, Pacific Snapper - YUM. So enjoyed watching & hearing the Pacific pounding on the shore. It takes away all my problems to just sit & watch the waves & listen. Picked up a couple of good recipes from my vegetarian DIL that I'll pass along later.
Missed you all.
-
Minustwo- Sounds amazing! So glad you had such a wonderful and relaxing time filled with yummy food. I could hear the waves coming through your post.
Well the chicken picatta was not good. Waaaayyyy too much lemon flavor. It was eatable but it will take major tweaking, I was very disappointed. Now I wish I had a piece of cake.
Tomorrow I am taking the boys to the dentist, it will be the 4th time for my older son 1st time for the younger one. Should be interesting! I know I am going to get yelled at for allowing DS#2 to still use a pacifier. I have it down to nap and bed time with a break down here and there for when he falls and hurts himself. I hate those damn things.
-
Ok, just watched the video and those crows dont sound anything like the ones around my house that was so cute, loved the black puppy in the video too.
-
Deb- I didnt get one either or at least i dont think i did, I got all my files from ky not to long ago and the file is about 5 inches thick started reading them and saw so many things that i didnt know like i was told i was stage/grade 2b but my report says 3A so not sure who is correct thats why i deleted my sig line b/c i wasnt sure also saw that i had unclear margins, now if thats true why didnt they go back and do clear margins im so confused by all the stuff i thought i knew and dont.
Carol- Thats interresting you were a write would you mind sharing what kind of writing you did. Sounds like a fun job!
Lacey- Hate when that happens, or part of my post is in bold letters or fonts Uggh!
Minustwo- Sounds like you had a wonderful trip i love SF everytime i go there i get there hot fresh bread it is very very good.
Laurie-Sorry about your chx picaata- I my self love the lemon flavor maybe you can cook the sauce by it self and reduce it down and put a little chx stock or butter in there to cut the acid a little
I had baked salmon for dinner with roasted broccoili and kale i put to much salt on the kale so i will have to wipe it off its too good to throw out.
