Bonfire of the Goddesses

I'll take the one on the right that's trying to hide his ax!!
Good Morning Godesses!
I have got to find some motivation! Need to clean my house and get packing for my cyber trip and my real one! So confused after my latest trip to the doc so maybe I can clear my head in Vegas! Or get drunk and have a vision about what to do! That sounds more likely!
Also, into the fire with TAXES! We will get a big refund, but why can't we just keep it to start with. Plus you know how every January you say this is the year I will keep everything straight! Then you celebrate Chinese New Year and try to have a DO-over and still don't get it right. Mthen by May you give up and then the next April you scramble to find everything then end up pulling numbers out your ass and do some FINE creative accounting?
Now you know what else we will be doing this weekend!! That and DH is going for a calcium test for his heart. Doc said he prefers it to the stress test, it gives better info and less wear and tear. Maybe you should ask your doc about it for next time Ducky! It's pretty new and insurance doesn't always cover it, but it was actually cheaper than our copay for a stress test. You do still have to give up the caffeine for it though!
Speaking of......I'm going to grab another cup!
Bus update.......... It's ready for painting! I also need to make a list of everyone's home town or at least their state AND the name of the city/place they want to visit. I.e. I live in Marietta, GA just north of Atlanta and I won't to visit the Great Barrier Reef.
Then I will make a "travel itinerary" for which city we will be in on what day and who is assigned as four guide! When it is your turn you will give us a "virtual tour" of where you live and also the city you want to visit! He'll we all might learn something! Land marks, regional foods, Gordy things like a giant ball of string down the road from your house, who knows what this Lot will turn up!
Someone said "bring on the homework!". Well, there you go!!
Love you girls!
-
Wanted to share this with the ladies who have followed Grayson..my grandaughter just came across this device.....Imagine Grayson will be able to stand upright......we can order it April 7th.....it attaches to the parent, and was invented by a mother in Ireland who has a wheel chair bound son with Cerebral Palsy......It is $500.00.....I told my son we will buy 2.....I cried when I thought of Grayson standing upright to see the world......
-
Ducky, that is so awesome! $500 is nothing compared to the joy it will bring you all! I can't wait to see a pic of Grayson going for her first real walk!
-
4.........if it cost $5,000 my grandaughter would have it......told my son last night......tell Kira to buy 2......just in case for some reason we can't get another one....my son has devoted his life to this little girl......
-
WoooHooo! Love the firemen!
-
Ditto what 4 said. Cannot wait to see Miss G in action!!!
I would be the dork who said bring on the homework LOL!
Since we are claiming firefighters, I will take the man in the lower left with the tats.(I haven't seen anyone claim him)
Phew that caused me to get nervous.
Taxes-into the fire with my EX who claimed my son this year. Long story ...He came back home to live with me and I was looking forward to reclaiming some of the expense of having moved him here. I didn't file soon enough. In regards to with holding, I often wanted more in my paycheck instead of at the end of the year. I took more deductions and I am getting less back this year. Once I took too many deductions and had to pay. It's a fine line. I was on short term disability the year before after surgery and knew my overall income would be lower so this year proved that I at least was able to minimize my year end return without paying.
I know I have no control over the weather, but I really am throwing in the towel on snow!
I am from Southwestern, PA.30-40 minutes North of the City of Pittsburgh.
There are so many places I would like to visit, but if I were pressed for a trip today. Grecian Islands. We can start with a sneak peek of the Island of Mykonos
-
Piper, I used to live southwest of Pittsburgh, near Canonsburg. We were there for 9 wonderful years - I hated leaving, still miss the area. Getting the taxes finished requires a special celebration.
I am going to get coordinates for Scotty, then off to do some research for my part of the tour guide stuff. That's a LOT of homework, Ms. 4sewwhat!!!!
Ducky, that little contraption brought a tear to my eye. What a wonderfully inventive mom to think it up and actually get it produced!!!! What a great gift she has given to so many, just that little bit of hope and FREEDOM for a child to actually be able to move across space without wheelchair or crutches!
Does anyone know anything about peritoneal carcinomatosis? My MO mentioned that might be what I have .... doesn't sound too good to me right now ...
Anyway, it is a beautiful day here, I had my private yoga lesson, called the billing folks to dispute one bill and figure out WTH the other one is even for, sorted my mail, and I think it's time for happy hour and a drink!
-
Sorry I have been MIA lately. Work has been a real bitch and when I get home, the last thing I want to do is turn on the computer. Only 2 1/2 more weeks and this girl is retiring. I already have a long list of things to do at home.
Welcome Ye Catte - This is an awesome group. Ducky said it right - this is the NUT house but also a very supportive grout.
FK - Bigs Hugs for you sista. So sorry for your loss.
Had my mammo last Friday and results are all good. Check this one off the list for another year!!!
-
Congrats Jo.
Hugs Ducky and FK.
Linda-people from SWPA always seem to find one another no matter where in the country or world they are
A little something to remind you of near where you lived. Besides their plain chocolate and peanut butter melt-aways
Nothing like a pecan truffle egg to make the mouth sing beyond belief. Of course it is getting such that even local chocolate is a major luxury item
Hugzzzzzz ladies
-
OMG, Piper! Sarri's is THE BEST!!!! I used to love to go in there to pick out candy, and occasionally have ice cream at their quaint soda shop. It was ALWAYS busy!!! I know I could order online from them, but it just isn't the same. But their truffles are to die for!!! I think we should get several boxes of truffles for the trip - I know EVERYONE will want some!
-
Where did everyone go?? Shopping for our trip?
-
Went to see 'American Hustle' at the local theater and stopped for a nice local micro brew before the show. I am stockpiling chocolate and beer from our area. I need to start taking pics for my assigned region. Happy weekend to all. Off to work.......can't take pics of that, but think pink and blue and you get the gist of what I do....
-
Hey all, back from road trip to fetch mom. It was a good trip but a long one. The biggest challenge aside from road construction was finding a hotel room temp warm enough for her but cool enough for me LOL. Stand back, I'm throwing in every orange barrel and traffic cone from FL to WI.
She's all settled in and we're making it cozy but there's a lot of little things to do so I've been pretty busy. But it's my mom, ya know, gotta take care of her!
I'm finally caught up on this thread and ready to go on the Magic Bus trip. What fun it will be to find three things about this area to share! ♥
-
Hi Goddesses..........wanted to share this.........Grayson and her sister playing with something called "HIgh Five Play Doh"..........she sure is happy...........still can't raise her right arm, but she will one day........
-

Have a great time
Xoxoxo FireKracker,
-
Won't be the same without FK...........this was her trip, and not fair to go on without her...........we can always do it another time........I am sure there are many others who agree........no one is offended, it just will not be the same..............
-
Ducky, that is a wonderful picture of Grayson. Thanks so much for sharing her progress!
Badger, Welcome back from your trip! Your mom is so lucky to have you - you sound like a wonderful daughter.
FK, there is no trip without you sweety. I vote to postpone the trip until you are ready. All those in favor???
Sorry I've been off the Goddess thread. I've been having a bad RA flareup and trying to get through the end of rads, and it's been difficult for me to keep up with everyone.
-
We need to postpone our trip. I won't go without FK. We will be waiting for you here with open arms. Take all the time you need.
On a happier note, I am so fortunate to be able to spend the entire weekend with my bc sista Stacie. Having a great time with her on South Padre Island.
Ducky - Thanks for sharing the picture of Grayson.
badger - Welcome back.
Slow - Sorry your RA is giving you problems. Get better soon.
-
No trip for me without FK..........hope I'm not hurting feelings either......right now my interest is her.......
-
i am not going either.
-
Hi Kath...........how are you doing girlfriend......yes, no way I will go without FK...........she is the heart of our group...........hugs sweetie.............
-
LMAO.............I did not notice the period at the end of .....High Five. then the sentence.......Play Doh is awesome.............peeing my pants......its regular play doh........LOL
-
... i was wondering, ducky! i was just thinking that they must have made up a new game! i want to play! kids are so amazing, they really make you feel great with all their sunniness, and enthusiasms. i was just checking out slow deep breath's little grandson, what a great and happy face he has! and i am sorry, beppy, that you are experiencing a flare. that is so not fair! Did you feel the earthquake last night at 9:00? that was the third one in two weeks, but that one shook our poor little stick built house like crazy! we were watching this movie called the europa report, where these space travelers landed on the moon of jupiter, i think. and it was funny, because they were experiencing "moon quakes"!!! when it happened. it was the looooong rolling kind, lots of them lately... adrenaline burst! ok, stay warm by the bonfire, y'all
-
Kath.....was thinking about you girlfriend when I heard it on our news this morning......though OMG....hope she is ok......also Beppy.........I am sure are other Ca. girls but can't remember.....but I sure did think of both of you..........that scares the hell out of me....
Right now we are getting a damn rain storm that is going to go on for 3 days.....it has not stopped....but guess what......so many others are suffering so much worse then our city............its just no breaks..............snow, windstorms, ice storms, now stinkin rain........WTH.........if Mother Nature is playing a joke.......I'm not laughing...............hugs sweetie.
-
Kath, I wish he was my grandson. I call him my faux grandson because my sister shares him with me - along with all her Grandchildren. My husband and I watched him the first three years of his life while his mom worked. We are very close to him and he is such a great little guy. The earthquake did scare me. I packed my bag with my shoes and cell phones, and kept it right next to my bed just in case. We've been having a swarm of them lately. I'm glad you're safe!! We seem to be in a period of activity again.
jo, I'm so happy you're having a good time with a fellow BC sister. Also, I'm so excited for you to retire!! I went back and read and realized I had missed that - also the great results on your mammo, you must be relieved!!
Ducky, Hopefully mother nature will stopped being so ticked off soon and the east coasters will get some better weather.
Hope you're all having a great weekend so far. Hugs to all!
Edited to say: linda, I don't have any experience with peritoneal carcinomatosis. Will your treatment plan change now?
4, I hope you're doing well - I know you had a tough week last week, and I hope it's better for you this week!
-
slow - Having a great weekend. One more week to work. Looking forward to retirement.
-
I agree we should postpone the trip until FK can join us. It's all or none, one for all and all for one.
Slow, right now the treatment plan doesn't change significantly - still waiting to see if the gemzar works, doing all I can to take care of the GI system and hoping I don't get a complete obstruction. MO said this is "uncommon, not rare, but uncommon." Gee, thanks. If it's common, I don't seem to have problems with anything, but make it less than common and I get it. Oh, well ..... I am feeling better tonight, the MO called me last night and was very reassuring and kind and compassionate. I only wish I had started with her instead of that other less than desirable MO.
Jo, I will be so happy for you at the end of next week - hang in there, baby, next Friday's comin'! (I assume you finish on Friday?). We will have to have a HUGE bonfire and celebration!
-
Definitely no trip without the Firecracker.
Relaxing today after my day yesterday. Every joint is reacting but that's my fault.
Hugs to all
-
so glad you all agree....hugs
-
Absolutely agree no trip without FireK! ♥ to all
