Slept all weekend and now I can't sleep. Came to the fire to get warm - I've had the chills all weekend and can't get warm.
OH I can tell you which one is jo! She's a very pretty lady and always so welcoming to all. Should I give a hint????
Also know which one is chrissyb! Another pretty lady that helps so many on these boards.
Sadly, I don't know any of the other sisters.
Everyone looks so happy in the pictures - very uplifting! I hope to be lucky enough to meet a fellow sister someday. And I agree with FK - jo deserves lots of hugs - always!!
-
beppy, YOU sound like a very sweet woman.
-
Kathec............she is......just like you are......love you ladies
-
Good Morning Goddesses!!
Bus is getting spark plugs today!!! Gotta run, just wanted to say Have a Great Day!!!
-
Jo.............jealous you had a couple more then we did...........LOL......nice picture but I have no idea which one is you...............you have to tell me..............think I picked out Binney..........I know Annette.............now are you the one on the end.............just don't tell me your the one taking the picture..
We waited for someone going into Panera to take ours...........such a good time........
-
Kath, you are such a sweetheart. When I'm having a bad day, I seek out your posts and they always bring a smile to my face. You have such a wonderful, subtle sense of humor that I so appreciate, and you have such a kind heart. I really hope I get to meet you some day soon.
Good morning to you too 4. You're working so hard to organize the trip. I hope you have a great day too! I'm enjoying getting to know you.
Ducky, I only know who jo is because I read so much of the Bonfire thread. She posted a wonderful picture of herself.
FK, I feel badly that I didn't comment specifically on jo's picture. I hadn't logged on for a few days and it was so much to catch up on.
Jo, I'm sorry I skimmed through so quickly. You shared an important part of your life, and I should have been more aware.
I've tried to learn as much as I can about all of you because you really are so special to me. FK, one thing I've learned about you is you are always thinking about those that have come before us - especially the ladies we have lost. You've mentioned them often on the Bonfire thread. I admire that you never forget them and always pay tribute to your friends.
Ducky, you are just awesome all around. Such wonderful pure love for your family.
I could go on and on, but I won't. There are so many wonderful women on the boards. Just know that I love you all, and I'm trying so hard to get to know each one of you by reading your stories. I really believe everyone leaves the best part of themselves behind on these pages.

So glad the bus is nearly ready, and good to have new spark plugs. Can we all paint our names on the side of the bus before we leave? Or is there a group name we want to put on the side? I sure hope there is a big picture of a bonfire on the side or back of the bus!
Let me add my gratitude to Jo for starting this thread. It has morphed from its beginning to include not only the awful stuff we toss onto the fire, but also the warm love of friendships across the miles. Thinking warm loving thoughts of all of you today.
-
ok, i need to know: is there really a bus? i will offer my services of painting the bonfire, and also the ashes of everything tossed in. i thinkk that beppy is right. i came to this thread, because a saw ducky and firekracker came here, and all the ladies were heaving massive awful things into the fire! but now, i see that it IS a fire that gives off a lovely warmth and makes all our complexions look great! softly crackling, warm and colorful, i pull my chair closer, into the ring, with all the lovely ferocious women, and, it gives me strength and hope, and our words here are an immortal testament for all who come after.... and no need for a paper bag, Ducky! when i see posts of pictures of some of you getting together, you would not believe how happy that it makes me...
-
kath, i wish it were a real bus. We would all have so much fun together!! I planned to go out and take pictures of my neighborhood this past weekend, and the fun things to do, but it didn't work out. I will try again next weekend. My daughter is flying into town to celebrate the ninth anniversary of my 42nd birthday which is on Friday. Hopefully I can get some pictures when she is here. Kath, do you live close to N. Hollywood? I have a dear friend that lives there and I just wondered if you are close by?
Edited:
Gosh, I seem to be missing everyone's post. Linda, I didn't see you up there when I posted earlier. Cami found my marbles for me a few days ago, guess I need to find them again. Lately I've got the attention span of a gnat. Hope you're doing well today!!
-
Kathec.............great idea sweetie......you name the bus, and you paint our Logo on the side.....sounds like a great plan.
This trip is going to be fun......when FK and I planned it we were happy to have people who were nice not nasty, who can get along, and share the fun and goings on on this trip...............we will agree on everything, and have no problems with anything..............this trip is for "happy people"................
We are all here for the same purpose to bring, caring and love to each other.........and FK and I want this trip to be a trip you will be talking about for a long time............we know how to have fun, that is why everyone wants to be on this trip, and on this thread.
Jo did one hell of a job here, and we honor her with being kind, like she is.........hugs ladies, and Kath go ahead girlfriend..........WORK YOUR MAGIC..............
-
I am skimming too. Working too many long days.....Big shout out and bring the homework assignments on. I do homework well
Slow...the s'mores and wine are waiting. I am throwing cold weather and inconsiderate people in the fire.....
warms your buns ladies....those are 2 biggies from me
XOXOXO
Piper
-
sent you a pm, slo!
-
Firekracker...........not again.....so sorry
-
Oh no! Ducky, what happened?
-
Poor FK lost another friend...... I feel so bad for her........she does not need this.........she is a very giving person, and when she is your friend you have a friend for life.............so when she loses a friend........she loses part of herself.........so unfair.............
-
Very unfair. I feel terrible for her. We all have too few truly good people in our lives to start with. Losing one hurts on many levels.
That is why I am so thankful to all my Goddess friends for being in my life, even if it is just through key strokes.
Love you Girls!
-
FK, you are in my heart and prayers today. Sending you much lovingkindess across the miles, wrapping my arms around you in a gentle hug.
-

I only joined today, but I've always loved a bonfire.
I would like to throw on the holistic pet behaviourist, who, after I had helped her out with her survey on pet bereavement, wrote and told me that my having cancer had probably caused by cat to develop his rectal cancer.
...along with the line care kits, the chamomile hair conditioner I put on under the cold cap, the cold cap itself, my seemingly permanent thinning pate I have, the mass of curly, grey, mangy badger hair I am left with, the drinks machine in radiotherapy (where I experienced the worst cup of tea ever) The short gown I was given to wear to rads, the tattoos from rads, the ugly stretchy, formless bras that make me feel and look horrible, the drawer full of pretty, shapely bras that I can't wear anymore as they buckle my WLE scar, the sharps box, the huge bag of dressings I amassed in the pursuit of dressings that didn't shear my skin raw, the rolls of micropore, the sachets of Cavilon, the luer lock syringes, the buffs I wore to disguise my hair falling out, my hot flushes - they'll burn well - all 47 a night and 24 a day crackle, crackle! the ugly hoodies and t shirts I wore after surgery and through chemo, bags of crystalised and dried ginger, dexamethasone and last but not least - my very first pathology report after biopsy.
...that should all burn quite nicely.
-
Wow I think I just singed my eyebrows!!
Welcome Ye Catte!! Sorry you had to deal with all that! Hang out with us by the fire for a while! There's a great group of ladies here!
-
Ye-Catte............Welcome......you fit right in..........we all rant, vent, rave, and toss.....so welcome to the bonfire........
But on a happier note........we are caring, loving, funny, nutty, joyful, tearful, and always there when you need someone..............so......Welcome to the Nuthouse.................
-
welcome!!FK I am so sorry!!
-
Hugs Fire!
-
woah, ye brave catte! well said, well done! is it gettin hot in here, or is it just me?!?
-
Hello Ye Catte. Yep, it's hot in here. We may have to call a fireman after I put all my worries on the fire. Somedays it is so overwhelming, and I havent had surgery yet! My "what if's" are driving me nuts.
-
-
I'll take the one in the middle!
-
Everyone, thank you so much for the lovely welcome.
I've lurked for a long while (a year) reading so many of the really useful, informative posts and articles here, they have really helped me through the last twelve months.
This morning I found a "chemo alert" card that we are given to wave at docs etc if we have need for medical care outside of oncology, that card will burn nicely.
Oooh nice gentlemen from the Fire Department, yummy! Top row, chap on the left, over here please, I have some things I need to discuss with you ..... hehehe!
