When your attempts to 'bless' others are constantly perceived as 'attacking' others it might be time to reconsider your style?
Now can we please quit making this thread all about somebody who doesn't want to participate in the fun and friendly aspects anyway.
blue ... SNOW??!!!! Yikes ... we've all had enough of that stuff for awhile. Hope yours melts off quickly ... and does not return again.
-
Athena, love the lion picture! And great to "see" you! (I, too, am trying to not let this board get in the way of sleep! And other necessities!)
-
Ok. I have no idea who this JB is but I read and reread her post to Blue and if it had been posted to me, it would not have been taken as such a huge insult because I understand that we all post in different ways. She really may have thought she was giving constructive info to Blue and had no idea the mountain would fall upon her. Even if many disagreed with her post, I think the "spanking" she was given was uncalled for. Frankly, Blue, imo, can take on an army of problems alone if she has to and I don't think she needed all the tanks sent in to help her. It was a bit too much, imo. I pulled up B's other posts on other threads and did not find they were really abusive as some on here have painted her. Nothing she posted warranted such big guns fired at her, imo. And please remember before you decide to aim your guns at "me" that I am a big avocate of freedom of opinions even if they don't agree with everyone. Have a nice day ladies.

It snowed here for a half hour. About a half hour later it was gone ---- for good, I hope! Freaky weather patterns all over, major flooding over the last 10 years, horrendous forest fires, polar ice cap melting, forcing our beloved polar bears further south into communities and settlements....and people doubt climate change?
On a lighter note, I have lovely bouquet of garden-picked daffs and hyacinths on my dining room table (my very favourite sign of spring)!
-
Medigal, take it from me. She was being as nasty as she could be with me. I haven't been a recipient of one of her pms but let me tell you, they are a nasty piece of work.
-
I just have to chime in here and support Blue. I am not sure how anyone can go back and look at older posts, but I have been shocked in the past how unbelievably rude JB's posts have been, and have understood from others about her PM's as well. She is the only person I have ever seen on here that I truly wish would be removed. Yes, she will post some that are "normal" and supportive, but the vast majority are mean and hurtful. Sorry, I do not think this thread should be about her, but I really don't think anyone should defend her. Some of her older posts are downright shocking.
-
Blue: I will take it from you because I do respect and like you so much. If you know her to be this way then I guess she deserved what she got from her post to you. I am always the one to try to help the "underdog" but not if they really "bite" my friends. So sad she is what she seems to be and I am sorry she uses her energy to hurt instead of to help. I think you could look great in a potato sack as long as you paint a giant photo of our "Jim" on it!
-
Medigal. like you, I re-read the post several times too. I really wanted to find some nugget of niceness in that post, but alas...I couldn't.
I try to find the good and give the benefit of the doubt but that post was really mean. I just don't get why somebody would post such nastiness.
JB; Why would you even want to comment on Blue's picture if you had nothing good to say? You say that it's just the way you are, blunt and direct, but perhaps you should learn to filter.
Blue. The picture is beautiful. You look stylish and sweet.
-
Very nice picture Blue - I love the top - I also outgrew my strapless bra and now use it for sunglasses (see facebook prof.) It is so nice to put a face with a voice - No comment on JB - I'm no Mother Theresa myself but I try not to deliberately hurt anyone's feelings. Take care, Ellie
Oh, and we had an inch of snow on Sat. - it sucked!
-
Two inches of snow here, so far, supposed to be more tonight. I hope it gets warm enough to rain and wash away the snow instead.
Well I can dream can't I?
-
Yeah, I spoke too soon -- I'm seeing "white rain" outside my window! Fortunately, it's not staying on the ground.
-
Linda
"White rain is better than what I call it-" the s- word."
-
I'm so sorry you gals are having the 's' word. It's a gorgeous day in S.W. Virginia! I've been planting begonias in between my hostas and mowed my upper field today. It feels so good! I've planted hundreds of zinnia seeds in my flower bed and can't wait for them to sprout!
Hope you're all having a good day,
Bren
-
Snow is a four letter word. I call it "that four letter S word", consider it a swear word, and I sure hope we have seen the last of it for this season.
-
Snow begone! I always hold my breath until May, which makes for an interesting complexion. :-)
-
My dogwoods are blooming!
-
Wow! What a picture. Absolutely beautiful!
-
Aw, Bren... now you're taunting everyone!
Actually, our dogwoods bloomed earlier this month. It was a fabulous spring -- only one late freeze, and it just barely nipped the leaves on the little fig tree. We'll have a good blueberry crop this year, and maybe some figs (finally).
The high today is supposed to be near 80 degrees, and the wild rhododendrons (R. minus) are beginning to bloom. We're even ahead of S.W. Virginia, I think. I wish y'all were here. We could sit out on the deck and enjoy this nice, warm, pre-buggy weather.
(Okay, I'll stop now.) Snow, be gone!!!
otter
-
Otter - you say "it was a fabulous spring". Sigh!! Everything is still brown here.
Having checked the long range forecast, I think next weekend will be the first time to get out, clean the gardens, spread the compost and plant a few things. The tulips are gamely sprouting through the leaves and yesterday's snow.
-
Party at Bren's house!
-
Bren, Love those dogwoods!! Too hot for them here.
-
Bren, those trees are beautiful. How far are you from all that tornado damage in NC? Those storms were scary up here, but I suspect they were even more violent where you are.
-
Blue, I think you are beautiful, just the way you are. You don't need to explain or justify yourself to anyone.
-
Bren:
I'll bring the wine.
Sandy
-
Molly, you are so right.
-
I wish all of you could come and sit on my porch with me. I actually took a little nap on the swing in the back yard. It was heavenly!
Patmom .. the worst of the storms were near Raleigh, which is south and east of me. We were so lucky here not to have the tornado warnings, just a watch. The power went out and the wind was fierce, but no damage. Thankfully.
Bren
-
Otter and Bren I am so envious right now. But I can't tolerate much heat so come summer time I wouldn't last down there. So I guess Michigan, where it snowed enough to cover the ground this morning, but melted by mid-afternoon is where I'll stay.
-
River .. it does get hot and muggy here in the summer ... the temps are already starting to climb. But spring is fabulous .. low humidity and temps in the high 70's. Wish it was like this all year round. Oh wait .. that's exactly the year round weather where I used to live in San Diego. arghhh. Sure do miss that climate.
Otter .. my rhododendrum should bust open in another couple of weeks. It's huge .. with giant fuscia colored flowers .. we're a little behind you. Have your azaleas already bloomed? Mine are just now opening up.
What's for dinner??? I had homemade chicken pot pie leftovers. Yum.
Bren
-
bren- I'm jealous of the swing on the porch. spring will eventually get here near nyc. sigh....
-
Too tired to cook and DH is working so I had a bowl of cereal. Chicken pot pie sounds yummy....oh well. I'll do better tomorrow.
I read a piece at Vanity Fair and thought some here might like to read it. It's a fairly quick read - 2 pages on income inequality. I have to admit that I don't feel very hopeful about the situation after reading it but there's a lot of food for thought there.
