Guess I'm another one with my head in the sand ... I don't believe anything written on the Blaze.
Beck drives me crazy!

I don't think I'd have the energy to take in so much disinformation. It would drive me to drugs or alcohol.
-
Even a broken (analog) clock shows the right time twice a day.
I understand wanting to verify that information from additional sources, but that might not happen since this is supposedly a tape of a closed meeting, and one would expect that most of the people in attendance are supportive of the speaker or he would not have felt comfortable laying out a plan to overthrow the government.
If we start to see protests and disruptions directed at JP Morgan, that would certainly serve as verification for me that there is at least some truth to it.
-
I have problems with JP Morgan and the other big financials that ran us into the ditch and yet are still handing out big bonuses. (1) So do I plan on destroying Wall Street?(2) Just because 1 is true doesn't lead to 2 being true. SEIU does have problems with JP Morgan this is no hidden secret:

It seems like they protested in a normal way - back in August - not holding my breath for them to take down Wall St., but if you're so inclined be my guest.

How wonderful - when was this?
-
OMG .. you guys are too cute!! E must be in Florida!
You're making me jealous .. wish I was there with you!
Bren
-
A "thread" reunion would be so nice!
-
We were talking about that. Thinking maybe Outer Banks in the fall. This was around 2:30 today. Nothing like good company and cold beer. E was here for work and spent today at the beach where I met up with her. Great fun meeting her!
-
You were drinking out of the mug and E was drinking out of the pitcher? I'm impressed!
-
What a fun pic.
-
Two Tampa hotties! Keeping cool with beer! Woohoo you two!
(good one, Alpal!!)
-
*waving to Barbara!*
Beautiful, beautiful beach day here - hot to us ultra pale northerners but Barbara said it was cooler than usual for this time of year. I think we should all move in with Barbara. :-)
GREAT meeting you, Barbara - such a quick mind and lightning wit! I've never been disappointed when meeting my BCO friends. Great gals, all of you!
E
-
Yes, waving back at you E! Glorious day outside today. Maybe we could do a BCO get together here in January or February when everyone is freezing. Have friends with condos...just sayin'.
-
Barbara .. that sounds like so much fun! I'm cracking up at E and her pitcher of beer!
Bren
-
OMG Barbara....YES! You have friends with all kinds of good stuff!
I'm sad to say that the pitcher was just a prop.
-
So, Barbara drank the whole pitcher? And lived to tell about it?
-
Beautiful Ladies!
-
Oh it looks like it was fun and WARM - they're predicting snow for us tonight - waaaah I wanna go to Barbara's in Florida.
Sandy
-
What a greatpicture.
-
What a beautiful picture!
-
I'm not believing you ladies. Did you listen to the "video"? Or do you believe Beck made this up and had someone do the taping. You take Michael Moore's words as just his opinion, but then you blast Beck. Too freaking funny.
Will these people take down Wall Street? I doubt it. But if you have any money invested you will be the ones who lose.

3monstmama wrote: Great editorial in the NYTs about how the US pays so little to teachers that the people who become teachers are the lowest scoring people in their colleges versus other countries where teachers are highly paid and the best and the brightest have no problem becoming teachers.
I'll tell my SIL who is an 8th grade math teacher that he's stupid! Guess what? He lost his WONDERFUL paying job and decided he wanted to become a teacher. He teaches in a very poor school district, Title 1, where welfare has been a part of those student's life probably since birth. Where those children are sent from kin folk to kin folk to live. Where those students do not know who their "daddy" is. Where those students see drugs, violence, and many don't have decent meals. Where those students may not have the material they need for school, i.e., pencils, paper, whatever. My SIL buys things out of his own pocket to give them. They have so much going in that school for kids IF they would take advantage of it. But, guess what, they don't because no one cares...they have no role model in the home.
Don't get me started. It is NOT up to the government to raise our children! We are dumbing down this society by not providing what children really need...discipline in the home, respect and most importantly, parents who give a rats arse. Most children will not get the education they need if there is no guidance from a great mentor, parents or a teacher that gives his/her all, and I mean all, to these children.
The unions couldn't care less about our children..it's all about THEM. Yes, we have some idiots for teachers that cannot be fired! They sit in "rubber rooms" playing cards, watching TV or whatever their little heart desire. Many stay in the classroom. Have you looked up the salaries of union "sponsored" teachers? In my state it's a "right to work state" and I'm very happy about that.
Throwing more money at our failing schools is NOT the answer.

((((Shirley)))) We were asking about you on TWO threads - if you don't believe me, read further up and also scour the cyberbullies thread. Glad you are "back"!
-
Beck is god; SIEU bad. Wall Street good. Teacher bad.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
-
Lovely picture of Barbara and enjoyful having a good time!!!
I'm not buying E's story about that pitcher of beer just being a prop though
-
Mary what is you new avatar - it looks like Lady Liberty OR a 1930's hollywood diva in film. Is there a story behind it?

You are obviously proud that your SIL is one of those teachers.
We lived in a Title I school district. It was a rural area where the only large factory in town had moved most of the jobs to the south. (This was 30 years ago.) The parents at the schools in this district. were involved, they cared, they helped their kids with homework. They were hard working people. Many of them received state aid because they had no other options besides moving from where their family had lived for generations..Some did move. Some stayed and a few more jobs have come into town.
Please do not generalize about Title I school districts. Some are like those you describe and others are in hard hit rural areas that have lost the town's largest employer.
-
Barbara and Enjoyful I love the pic! The pitcher "prop" had me laughing out loud. I'm glad that you were able to share some wonderful time together.
-
I did have one mug of beer. E's friend had most of it.
