I say yes, you say no, OR People are Strange

Good morning, Medipal!! :-) Probably best to just ignore all & sundry.
-
Blue - awesome but I echo E - come and do mine too!
BTW even though I am well past it the polish I just love is called Mrs. O'Leary's Bar-B-Que by OPI - sure gets me some strange looks but then I am asked the next minute what colour it is, it makes me feel brave.

What enjoyful said!
Went to the pet store yesterday to get dog food. Dog got a huge knuckle bone and has been fixated on it ever since. Wouldn't go to bed last night without it right where she could see it. Cats got a new cat bed ... it's being shunned so far. At least the doggie appreciated her gift.
The Humane Society had their adoptable dogs there. Should not go on Saturday ... there are always at least 3 dogs I want to bring home. And all of the cats
Edited to add: They had one dog there they had named Dribbles. Is it just me or is that a really bad name to give a dog you are trying to find a home for?
-
I went to our local animal shelter a few weeks ago and was appalled at all of the older cats that were just dumped there by their owners. How can you have a cat for years and then just dump it?? I want to bring all of them home, but my sister's dog would eat them. :-(

The problem with jumping to conclusions is that sometimes you reach the wrong one. That can be far more damaging all around than waiting for the real answers.
-
The truth has a way of coming out eventually
-
Exactly, PatMom.
-
Exactemont!!!!
-
UPDATE: Just walked out to the living room and cat #1 is in her new bed! She must have heard me talking trash about her
Dribbles was very cute ... our doggie would love a doggie friend. But Dribbles is a terrier mix ... Wheaten terrier is their guess. Does anybody know if terriers and cats can co-exist? I've always thought terriers are too prone to chasing cats.
-
Maybe if it's a really BIG cat and a really little dog?
-
Edited to add: They had one dog there they had named Dribbles. Is it just me or is that a really bad name to give a dog you are trying to find a home for?
That's a really bad name for a dog you are trying to inspire people to welcome into their home. It certainly tells people why that dog is in need of a new home.
When you are coming up with names for large numbers of animals, or if the dogs already come with names, there is sometimes an overlap with the need to add a number after the name and sometimes some of the names are just not helpful.
-
Speaking of what really matters ... happy happy that blue's DBS has made things better for her
-
Yes, you wouldn't want to name a cat "Shreds." :-D
-
Or name a dog Sheds.
-
Other bad pet names:
CouchEater
Humper
Claw
FurBomb
Charlie Sheen
-
My toy fox terrier sheds like crazy. You wouldn't think such a small dog could leave so much fur behind.
-
But they got Dribbles as a picked up stray. They really don't mean that to signal a problem - somebody just thought it was cute. It's just that people always jump to conclusions ...
enjoyful ... I have had cats and dogs together all my life. Some of them have been best buddies but all of them have lived together peacefully. Dogs tend to accept any and all family members as part of their pack. Plus they learn quickly that cats have sharp pointy things at the end of their paws. So ... go back to that shelter and grab yourself a kitty. And name it Shreds
-
Or "Charlie Sheen." I'm just so afraid the dog will eat it. She's....um....not a normal dog.
-
Blue: Your posts are making me crazy. I read that you are doing your nails and I am looking at Jim's avatar and thinking you are a "guy". I hope you don't post you are putting on lipstick and getting into your nice dress or I really will have a problem! My brain just keeps seeing you as a guy even tho I saw your nice photos! Maybe you can stick a small photo of you kissing Jim in your avatar so I can start seeing you as "you".
Just don't delete "Jim". I would adore him even if he wore heels and I found out he was trans whatever they call those people.
-
What kind of dog is your sister's dog enjoyful?
I've had beagles, labs, German Shepherds, border collie/lab, and now a German Shepherd/collie mix. But have no experience with anything in the terrier family. Dribbles was just the right size and awfully cute and sweet though. Ack
And 'sheds' would be a perfect name for the German Shepherds ... they don't look like they would but they have this undercoat and you could make an entire small dog out of the fur that comes out in one serious brushing.
-
Medigal ... LOL. You went missing for awhile ... glad to see you back!
-
I think Wheatens are adorable. I love terriers. They do tend to be strong willed, tho. My only cat ever, a 20 lb. siamese, and my two dogs (cocker mix and cockapoo) did really strange things together - but only when we had company. I think they were all 3 perverts.
-
White Rabbit: Are you who I think you are??? If so glad to see you back. I love the avatar.
-
Enjoyful - Is your sister's dog a lab by any chance? We had two labs for years and could never have a cat - every time we tried they tried to "toss and kill" but after they went to heaven we successfully had cats and dogs together (one dog was a Weimaraner(sp?)/Irish setter cross and the other one is the only pet that survives, a bichon, who thinks she IS a cat (see the cats did train her!)
-
My sister's dog is a coon hound and I suspect cats look like raccoons to her!
-
Medigal ... I was Madalyn. I confessed back when I first created the rabbit. Missed you all!
-
Good morning, sandy!
She's a crazy coon hound. She must have picked up the scent of a raccoon the other day because she went nuts, baying and running back & forth. Or maybe she was just having one of her special dog moments.
Just 30 minutes ago she peed in the upstairs hall. Why? Probably because we have a cone on her head. Why? Because she chases her tail and licks her butt raw. Why? I DON'T KNOW! I need a cat.
-
Madalyn!! I've MISSED you!!!!
Enjoyful....get a cat!
-
It's my sister's dog and she has to stay. *sigh* She's wearing the cone and barking now because she can't reach her butt. God help me.
-
LOL! E....never a dull moment.
