Sammysmom: What gives you the right to make such a proposition for "your" group? Are you their leader? If so, don't we have the right to know exactly who we are dealing with? Also, Melissa is our Mod and we take directions from her so I guess she would be "our" leader. There is also a thing about trust with this propositon you make to us. We have not used our thread to mock your group but you can't say the same about what your people do so how are we expected to believe you have any intention of keeping your word? Somehow, I cannot see you being able to convince your ladies to play "nice" no matter what you propose to us. After all, it is obvious that "some" of your ladies are "our" ladies too (I guess playing double agents or something just to have fun). I think I would like to see our groups make a truce to stay away from each other's threads and leave each of us alone to do our own thing. The only reason I can think of for your people to want to hack into our threads is if they are so bored with their own. We have no reason to hack into yours because we have enough interesting stuff going on here whether you approve of it or not. Just wondering what is really behind your thoughtful proposal. Have a good night!

Medigal,
Well said. However, I have to ask, why are you wasting your time talking to these people when there is a great basketball game on tv? Go Heels!!!

Whats everyone's thoughts on Jicama?
-
jicama - slice thin and toss in salad - yum!
-
I had to look up what it was. I saw lots of descriptions ... what does it really taste like?
-
Rabbit.... It can taste a bit like a potatoe or a bit like an apple. Ann... I just cut it up like french fries and scoop up Hidden Ranch. It can be cooked but I usually like jicama, brussel sprouts, cauliflower raw with dip. Jicama is like a root , the skin is very thick and woody. You really have to make sure you get it all off, otherwise, nasty dirty tree taste. All in all it really good.
-
Jicama is frequently used in Southwest cusine - kind of sweet and super crunchy. Great in salads and like kad2kar says, with dips. It reminds of kohrabi, which my dad grows in Illinois. The man's 95 and planning his summer garden, so it must be good for you!

Well just got back from a busy day and still see insults and insinuations. Shokk thank you for what you said last night over there. You know me.....even if I were able, I would NOT do what I am being accused of doing.
As for the rest of this mess, please help your comrades. Some of them are losing it!
-
Also, Shokk, you know I am an observer, so I don't need to read anyone's pmails to figure out what is going on......it was quite obvious. A little bit here, a little bit there, a little bit elsewhere and viol, the whole picture comes to light.
Erica, you know that we deleted our posts on Athena's thread because they had nothing to do with the donation aspect and were politely asked to delete them. No dark reason.

I notice more than five posts in the past 24 hours as "sammysmom" and yet that account only has 13 posts on record as of this writing. It was opened just under six weeks ago. I thought the rule for newbie accounts was five posts per 24 hour period for the first fifty posts. Did they change the rules?
Here is a screen shot of a search of the "sammysmom" account as of this writing. I have bolded the posting times:

Sounds like gang mentality. Everyone has been complaining about deletes and now you are are all congratulating yourselves for doing the same thing. HA...

Notice, also, that some posts were edited. Editing a post is the same as writing a new post as far as posting privileges go. How does the new "sammysmom" account do this? I counted two edits and one delete. Deletes are also counted as postings when you are on restriction. So, in 7 hours, there are six messages plus two edits plus a delete = nine "postings".
How did that happen?
Does BCO allow the creation of the same "handle" albeit with different e-mails? I am no techie. Any other possibilities?
-
Continuing this discussion, if it is indeed possible to sign up with multiple e-mails but the same screen name, then that would make it easy to report posts in quick enough succession to get the post deleted, then come back as yourself. If this were the case, and this is only a hypothetical, it would explain, for example, why one of Beesie's posts was deleted at lightning speed on a stage IV forum, of all places. Beesie was there because she was participating in a discussion about progressions from DCIS to Stage IV. Beesie's deleted post did not come close to violating a rule, but it disappeared in a flash.
That post was later restored by Melissa and is still available for reading on the Stage IV forum here: http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/8/topic/765287?page=1
That post said, in part, " Erica/Daisy/Janewell/whoever, please be respectful and leave your personal axes (as in "axes to grind") in other forums."
Blue, you remember, I'm sure, because you asked why the post was deleted. How else can a post go so quickly? Only if the person reading it is right there and has enough accounts to do the trick. We all know that. What I now wonder is whether that person can switch between accounts effortlessly and post at any time, knowing that they will all have posts appearing under the same name.

Athena, we can test the theory out.......but tomorrow. It's beddy-bye time for me. Night all.
-
Wow. Seems like someone had rat poison in their Wheaties yesterday evening.
Here is a new recipe for brussel sprouts I tried last night. YUM.
1 1/2 pound fresh Brussels Sprouts
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, peeled and sliced
1 medium onion, peeled and thinly sliced
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons butter
Salt & freshly ground pepper to tasteBlanch brussels for 3 min in boiling water. Put olive oil in frying pan and saute onion and garlic, add brussels, balsamic, butter and salt and pepper to taste.

Well I peeked in last night and tried to make sense of things. I went and looked at another site having trouble and I have to say I can't quite figure out what's going on.
My niece has several websites and she's been randomly hacked and it's never been connected to anybody she's had any connection with, just kids/or somebody (I only say kids because all this computer stuff seems easy to them) and she just cleans up, tries to tighten security and moves on.
After dealing with the snow we encountered outside our door we will be off visiting grandkids. I wish you all a day of stimulating, yet pleasant conversation.
-
Good Morning all. No truce?? BTW, where are you seeing "h" on Sammys post? It's showing up as an "f" on my computer. Maybe she started to get obscene and thought better about it. Or maybe she just got tired and wanted to watch whatever the rest of you were watching. I hate sports! Remember I am the gal who failed PE cause a ball hit me in the face! No sports watching either! Hope this turns out to be a nice Sunday for all.
-
It was an "h" when originally posted - edited and hour later to change it to an "f".
-
They haven't been hacked....probably forgot a setting. Just because they can see guests in that forum does't mean they are actually there. And since they locked the thread where I was trying to explain this, I did answer your questions. Can you also not read!
I guess some people need intrigue in their lives.
-
ADK: "h" then "f"? Doesn't mean anything either way. Why bother changing it. "Say what you mean, and mean what you say" is my theory. I wonder what name our Sammysmom uses on the "other" forum? Never gets boring around here does it.
-
Seems to be the new tactic - make a post, get responses and then go back and change the original post to try to make the responses look foolish.
-
Reading comprehension does seem to a problem for some. Makes me even more afraid for the future of our children considering the Tea Party proposal to eliminate the Department of Education, and the additional cuts in funding for education in the GOP budget. Fewer teachers, more students per teacher ratio, does not inspire confidence that the quality of our students in the public education system is going to improve.
-
Back to important things.....I actually did my nails last nite! That is a major stepping stone!
-
And she's going to do mine next! ;-)
