On to a pleasant topic: I have absolutely no idea what we're having for supper. Hubs isn't home right now, and it's his turn to cook. (Yes, he really does that.)
Wait a minute -- I hear a small plane overhead. I'll be right back.... .... Nope, it wasn't him. It was up too high.
Anyway... where was I? Oh. If he decides to do some night take-offs and landings, I'll probably be having mac 'n cheese. (It's my secret craving.)

[Edited to hastily remove a covert reference to something we've been asked not to refer to. I didn't see Melissa's post ahead of mine. Thanks!]

Freeeeedoooom!....
Melissa, thanks for the addressing the situation and liberating us from cyber-prison. I hope the deleters realize that resolving this issue not only takes time but $$ money and both could be much better spent.
Deleters, thank you x's 10. Many of us remember a different time when people cared, listened and respected one another. Sadly some seem to have lost their way which was evidenced here by your actions however. I truly thank you because you gave me a valuable opportunity to witness something I had never seen before...women from diverse backgrounds coming together offering encouragement, love and support in the face of tyranny. Beautiful. You BC Sisters are amazing!!!
KK~ glad you are back and although I don't listen to music anymore, you listed 2 of my all time favorite bands so just for you I am going to sing a few bars of sweet "Child O' Mine in accapella.
Blue~ Happy to see you were liberated also and thanks for starting this thread and adding the ever so necessary "NO TATTLING" Never in my life have I seen those words directed to grown a@@ women...Another first!
Eff~

Thank you, Melissa
Clearly you are taking this very seriously and are seeing what we see. We really do appreciate your efforts in managing these boards. It is sad that there are cyberbullies running around these boards who for no reason but their own egotistical pleasure are causing heartbreak and anger. Hopefully they can be contained by changes to the report this post function.

Chili on Fritos
I really have to cook tomorrow I've pulled the easy routine two days straight. I did plan on cooking something better but DH said he might be late and I didn't think what I was going to make would "hold over" well. Then he had the nerve to show up on time!
-
To our ladies and any Mod who is lurking: I must have missed a lot of posts because the only gross intolerance and cyberbulling I have seen is caused by the whinny troublemakers who have itchy "Report this Post" fingers. We are NOT intolerant of each other or do cyberbulling, imo. I have had some "heated" discussions with certain members of this thread but I respect their right to stand up to me or any one else and defend what they believe. This is NOT cyberbulling or being intolerant of each other. It's called being "human"!
As for the discusssions we like to have on politics and/or religion, maybe the Mods should have a conference with some good psychiatrists as to how to have good mental health. If someone has a mental problem, the first thing they do is "make" you join a group to discuss your inner feelings and then you "have" to go make some ridiculous wallet or purse or anything to take your mine off of what is depressing you! My point is: Getting bc can be a very depressing disease. It is very important to do whatever we need to do to save our lives in the way of Chemo, Rads, Arimidex etc but I think any good psychiatrist would say, the next best thing is to do things to get your mine OFF of the disease and be able to focus on other things in your life!
WE ARE WHAT WE THINK! I don't want to think about bc all day long! I come on here to discuss, laugh, and pick at my friends so I can be the same ole me I was before bc. I will NOT let this Arimidex I have taken for over 7 years have the power to keep depressing me and reminding me I got bc! Blue gave us such a healing force when she started this thread so we could unwind and just be ourselves with each other. I will NOT sit back and allow troublemakers to decide what is best for me. If what is going on in this thread is not what is helpful to them then they need to go make a wallet or a coin purse and find another way to deal with their bc. They don't have a right to turn our lives upside down by deciding there is something wrong with this thread.
If we are going to be accused of "gross intolerance and cyberbulling" I think we have a right to SEE these posts and get to know who is doing this. For my part, I cannot find such posts and I resent being accused of such actions as a member of this thread. I do hope they find a better solution to the "report this post" function so they can take the power away from the deleters. If the mods do that then I think even they will see our thread was never the problem. The troublemakers are.
-
Maybe I am being a pollyana, but I interpreted the reference to "cyberbullying and gross intolerance" only as a reference to the abuse of the "report this post" function. Did I miss something?
-
ADK, I think your interpretation is correct.
-
I do, too. At least, I hope it is.

Meatloaf, baked potatoes and spinach. Maple syrup festival starting here this weekend! I love it.
-
I just boiled an egg and added it to my pooches' dog food. They gobbled everything up. They are such picky eaters. Hope they don't get a tummy ache.
-
ADK: Thank you soooo much for bringing this to my attention. I have been running to medical appts while trying to keep track of these posts and I seem to have misread what Melissa wrote:
"However, when gross intolerance, and cyberbulling ensue as a result of these conversations, we indeed need to ensure the "safety" of the site and uninvolved and innocen"
After reading your post, I reread Melissa's and I think she was really trying to tell us that our topics were bringing about this "gross intolerance and cyberbulling" and it was the outsiders doing this not us. I apologize to Melissa for my reading ignorance and now understand she feels she was trying to protect us from these people if we stopped discussing these topics they did not like. However, I truly feel, no matter what topic we discuss, they will find some excuse to keep doing what they are doing unless she can do something about the Report this Post button.
Sorry about the misunderstanding Melissa but I still would like the freedom to discuss what we want as long as "we" stay within the guidelines of the Rules for BCO.
So, your interpretation seems correct ADK. I will try to read the posts more clearly next time.

Thursday night is pasta night here, so we had penne rigate in a mushroom/scallions rose sauce, with salad, of course; oatmeal cookies and a clementine later! (Along with a couple of advil cuz I fell on the ice today and now I walk funny
)
p.s. Barbara, ice is that slippery hard stuff that catches you unawares sometimes -- just in case you'd forgotten!!!!

I have been stress eating all day (d*m*nd deleters) so dinner is homemade tortilla chips (whole wheat aren't I healthy) and artichoke tapenade (out of a jar). Thinking of heading down to the store for jelly beans (wonder where that idea came from).

I leave you with this. Enjoy.
Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexatious to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy. -
Athena started this thoughtful topic: My Fellow Deletees and The Cyberbullied Sisters in the I've Donated to Breastcancer.org in honor of....forum. It is an appeal to help, if you can, BCO make these desperately needed changes.

Floralgal - So very happy about your good test results. I know you must be relieved. I've always enjoyed your thoughtful contributions and will miss them. Thank you for Desiderata - it's always been my favorite and contains such good advice for all of us. Hopefully things will calm down around here - chaos is exhausting. Please take a break and then come back!

kitten chow, carrots, apple, grapes and "aged" banana, chicken organic dog treats. CANADIAN sweet potato dogie crackers
-
She is back..... came up to me - about a foot away ate a little and then ran away. Came back when she thought no one was watching and ate some more. Fruit and "crackers" first
-
Do you have a name for her yet? If not, how about flower or flowerbud since she's your buddy?
-
She probably waited until no one was looking, because she didn't want her friends to accuse her of consorting with the enemy!
-
Erica31,
Great news. It sounds like you are providing a well balance diet for your friend. She must have forgiven you for the dog incident!
-
ADK, and others, I'm glad that you correctly understood my post.
-
Erica - How about Liberty for a name for your little rodent?...it's not gender specific.

I guess friendly health advice isn't appreciated by all. But maybe some will find this helpful.
Cancer's Sweet Tooth
by Patrick Quillin, PHD, RD, CNS
From The April 2000 Issue of Nutrition Science NewsDuring the last 10 years I have worked with more than 500 cancer patients as director of nutrition for Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, Okla. It puzzles me why the simple concept "sugar feeds cancer" can be so dramatically overlooked as part of a comprehensive cancer treatment plan.
Entire article:

(Edited to include actual research.)
-
Oh thanks for the sugar advice Laura, I'll just do that now before it's too late. Whew!!! Your sensitivity is truely inspirational. There's a special place waiting for people as precious as you.
And it's BS about sugar feeding tumors. Everything gets converted and feeds the tumors (and all body parts) so just stop eating. Sugar just gets there faster.
BTW -- the link I posted doesn't work -- but it's not too hard to find by clicking into the forum I mentioned.
Edit -- a typo, must have the shakes and cancer from too much sugar. Gotta get some booze and cigarettes too! The alcohol and smoke kills cancer, ya know.
-
If we can't eat candy then I say let's drink wine instead
-
I swear there must be something in the water where some people live - I am now headed to eat spoonfuls of sugar - happy now?????!
Sandy
-
LOL!!!!!
-
I'll drink to that. Oh heck,I'll drink to almost anything!!!
-
Laura, you might want to post your information about sugar on the thread called OMG, They've Found A Cure for Stupid. It's on the Depression and Anxiety Forum.
