Ummm, oops.
Can anyone tell I'm having a busy week?
Can I pretend I posted that to make people laugh? It is funny, after all!
OK, going to go see if I can rack up some more points so my posting looks better tomorrow!
Happy B-Day, samsue!!!!!
-
That's okay, it is amazing how you can get so wrapped up in life you don't know what day it is.
-
bcincolorado,
Very interesting articles! Thanks for posting them. I think that by trying to work more vegetables into my diet by eating them first before my lunch and dinner, I've been doing exactly what they talk about without knowing it.. Good to know I may be on the right track.
Happy Birthday Samsue!!!
NativeMainer,
Not a week goes by that I don't get my days confused at some point...lol
Have a great day all!
-
Samsue Happy Birthday to youuuuuuuu!
-
(((SamSue)))

Happy Birthday Samsue!! Enjoy your day!!
Hope your toe feels better soon. Is it purple?? Every time I have hit my toe that hard, I let out an expletive. Just a reaction to that unexpected pain I guess!
Have a great Birthday!
-
Happy Birthday samsue. We still have the whole month of February to get ourselves together. We can do it - I KNOW WE CAN; I KNOW WE CAN; I KNOW WE CAN (convinced?)
Hi everyone.

****************************************************
Birdies!!!!!
I'm back & I've missed pages & pages of the LAB unfolding.
Happy Birthday, samsue!!!!
Happy Anniversary, o2b!!!!!
Happy welcome home, Nicole!!!!
Happy Thursday, NM!!!!
I haven't taken notes -- so you'll have to accept my SwissCheese memory for only grasping a few highlights and the big smiles.
The scale was frightening this morning, as it always is after I spend a chunk of the day in flight. I think even my minimal LE adds pounds, from the flying about.... it's usually semi-temporary but will hit our Friday weigh in tomorrow.
I counted and it was a 19.5 hour day of being 'on-the-go'.......... which involves crazy choices to keep moving forward, like airport food and vendor treats. Ah, fireworks of fun and then a huge U TURN back to the lab and discipline and accountability-for-the-long-haul.
So it goes.
Good to see everybody.
I think it's too late for jumping-jacks at this hour. LOL.
I do have an extra-credit point.
xx00xx00xx00xx
Absolutely we must celebrate the milestones.
In addition we need to learn about balance.
I think we need times of 'less' so that we can thouroughly enjoy our times of 'more' and choose them wisely and from a position of being informed.
Yesterday was my big triumphant keynote delivery, to my largest crowd to date.
-
Congratulations Faith! Triumphant is a wonderful word! {{hugs}}

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes... I met my DD and two GS and we went to Bob Evans. It was the easiest place to have two noisy little guys and not be upsetting the rest of the crowd. If you know what I mean. They eat stuff there too since it's a bit kid friendly. We had breakfast and I did OK with the eggs and turkey sausage (did have a bit of pancake but left most of it) The big downfall is that they gave us a BIG slice of chocolate cake for the "birthday girl"... The GS had fun eating it and we all shared so not to much for anyone. The littlest likes whipped cream and they also brought us more cherries because both wanted the "one" on the top.
Had my app't with the acupuncturist and he worked on the swollen toe..... can you believe it! Just bumping into the little heater can do so much trouble! I put arnica on it so it didn't get really black and blue but I couldn't see the underside and it was purple at the joint. LOL
I'm liking the idea of the hula hoop for exercising though. Reminds me of when I was a "kid".....
Thanks again everyone. You certainly made my day.
-
Almost check-in Day, ladies. I hope everyone makes it back around here to let their leader know where they stand. Even if you didn't do so great, maybe you can get some support for help.
-
nativeM ~ I applaud you for taking your lunch every day to work. When I worked, I ate like crap if I didn't bring food from home. I mean, I went to the cafeteria, got a bowl of vanilla ice cream & a can of red cream soda & went back to my desk & had a float.
Awful! And you have that willpower every day to stay away from the workplace eateries. Congrats on that!!
Do you drive to work? Maybe you could park a bit further away so you could get more walking in? Or walk up & down a hallway or the stairs a few times during a break or lunch? Just 10 minute increments does us good. Just some ideas. I'm probably not one to be giving advice, I could certainly add more movement to my day.
I am not looking forward to getting on the scales in the morning.... I have not been so good this week. We shall see.
-
Well I hit the wrong key twice and my last posted disappeared, so I'll start again.
NM - I've been off work for two weeks, so my time-keeping is really out of whack. I've only worked 1/2 day from home and 1/2 day at work and both times had to quit to take a nap. Still having problems breathing, from healing pneumonia and residual asthma. To top it off, I found out from ortho dr that i have a torn tendon in my elbow, so even if I felt like going to the gym, I can't weight lift for awhile. But at least I'm alive, as my ex-SIL is not, dying this past week of a brain aneurysm at 40-something. Second person I know that has recently passed of the same thing. So I'm counting my blessings; not so much my points, this week!
-
{{Elaine}} sorry for your loss, you are right, it's good to be alive!
Checking in at 185.6 this morning

*cumulative loss since joining E-LAB = 4.4 lb
Happy Friday everyone! {{hugs}}

I will try to make sure I keep up to dat e with everyone's posts today, although it will be a bit more hectic. DIL flies in today, and FDIL wants to meet me to go dress shopping. You know what they say, when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping.

Oh bookart,
I am so sorry to hear about your ex-SIL. My Grandmother died at a fairly young age from an abdominal aneurysm. It is really very difficult when it happens so suddenly with no time to prepare at all. My heart goes out to you!
Please go easy on yourself. Pneumonia can be quite serious and can take several weeks to recover.
Thank you for the reminder that being alive is, indeed, a blessing!
Take Care.
-
I have been sick all week so did not exercise but did drink a lot of water daily. Actually lost another lb kind of suprised because i didn't get to the gym. Feb 1st will be really watching my diet and portion size and writing everything down in a food journal.I wouldlike to drop 20 lbs before going out to buy my 2 dresses for my daughter's June wedding.Don't know if I can do it but I am sure going to try to think positive.
-
Roadrunner checking in.
Check in 1pt
Maintained Weight 1pt
Fluid Intake 7pts
Exercise 8hrs 16pts
Extra Point - I had my first visit with PS last Monday and today I phoned his office to say I would go ahead with reconstruction - really nervous now!! Will have another visit to him in April when he/we will decide on exactly what will be done but I think it will be a LT Flap with gel implant. Then it will probably be June before I will actually have the surgery - at least I will have plenty of time to organise care for my mum for a week or so. Oh gosh, what have I done!!!! At least I get a point for it though!!!
I think that's a total of 26. Sorry for only rushing in for check in but it's been a hectic week - between dr's, dentist, my mum and then trying to organise repatriation for my BIL who had a stroke while on holiday in Thailand - whew!!
I noticed a few people have various occasions and I hope you all enjoyed your various celebrations and achievements.
Hope everyone has a great week, especially my fellow Roadrunners!!

Good afternoon ladies,
Happy Belated birthday Samsue!
Sorry to hear about your ex SIL Bookart.
Zogo, not sure if anyone answered about the FDIL acronym but it stands for future daughter in law.
I have no scale so I'll give myself zero for that
1 pt for Friday Check in
4 points for adequate water intake
4 points for exercise
I should give myself -1 extra credit for all of the rum I'm consuming this week (delicious) but I guess I really deserve 1 because I'm being very good at the buffets and only taking very small portions of food and not going back for seconds!
Total for me is 10. Go Robins!
