Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I'm thinking.
-
Roadrunner coming in on Friday so I at least get 3 pts.
Have had no motivation the last couple weeks - what's up with that?
Water also down this week - 4 pts
Exercise (last weekend only) 5 pts (and this weekend looks like a washout)
Weight holding at 189 = 1 pt
Total = 13 pts
Arrrgggghhhhhhhhhhhh!~
-
RoadRunner checking in:
Friday Check in = 1 points worked late and didn't get on the computer.
Weight 226# = 0 points
Water = 7 points
Exercised = 3 points--one point for each day I worked
Extra Credit--= 1 points--took 2 days off until I felt better
Total = 11 points.
I have come to the (unsurprising) conclusion that I am not making taking care of myself a big enough priority. That has got to change. So this weekend I am going to decide what stuff I need to put in my schedule just like I do my work and other stuff.
-
Hi I just read the beginning few pages...a few around 166 and the end....I think I understand this. I need to lose weight. My first goal is 50 lbs. I have gained 60 lbs since dx in 2006 and I was already a bit overweight. I also stopped smoking 4 years ago...I had help from the quit smoking thread....and that added fuel to the fire. So, can I join this group? I need to lose because I can't stand myself and I feel awful both physically and mentally from it.
Thank you,
Candie
-
Glad to see this is still together!!! Keep up the good, and hard work!!!
-
Thanks Mods... We just keep on going! Lose a little, gain a little, lose a littte and then plateau for awhile... I'm kind of stuck again. Boo!!! But I'm not giving up!! I will reach my goal
-
I've been on a plateau and ups and downs for a year. Finally made a break for the 160's and I hope I'm not going back. This thread is a great way to keep accountable.
Welcome Candie, we'd love to have you join us!
-
Thank you zogo. How do I do this? Do I check in once a week?
-
Hey Candie, yes, we usually check in on Friday with our tracking for the week. As you can see from the original post, you get points for checking in, water, exercise (which doesn't necessarily have to be at the gym or a workout... things like working in the garden or walking the dog could count)...just keep track and post your points. Some weeks (or months) we are more active than others, but we have been doing this for a long time. And extra credit is always given for something you did above and beyond, be it big or little. Small victories are just as important as big ones.
Glad you are joining us!
-
hi Candie, welcome, glad to have you join us! This is a nice supportive group to encourage healthy habits and slow but steady weight loss. I hit a high of 200 PFC and have lost 30 lbs over the past 3 years but am stuck on a plateau and can't seem to break into the 160's and stay there. Rooting for you, Jane!
Thanks, Mods, for the encouragement!

Roadrunner checking in Friday = 3 pts.
Water = 5 pts.
Exercise = 8 pts.
Weight = maintained at 189 = 1 pt.

Going for 20 minimum pts next week - anyone joining me?

Since I haven't been to sleep yet, I am counting this as Friday even if it is 32 minutes after midnight. I gained back to my weight plus one this week.
Doing better on water. Getting outside and working more. Stressing once again.

Checking in very late but for good reasons! Friday night I was tired and chose self-care (sleep). Sat I spent the day at a friend’s cabin on a pretty little lake for BBQ and beer. This morning, I’ve been out for my daily constitutional. But I’m here!
Late check in = 1 point
Weight same as last week = 1 point (but I will be down next week!)
Exercise = 16 points
Daily H2O = 7 points
Extra credit = 1 point – started wearing earrings again and that makes me feel good. Gave away some pairs that didn’t suit my post-chemo short hair.
Total = 26
Keep up the good work, birdies! ♥

I'm beginning to get really frustrated again at myself, I guess more than anything. It's just so hard... the diet I am on you have to eat and drink and while I'm at work from 6:40 a.m. to almost 4:00 p.m. I simply just don't have time. Most days I go to the bathroom before I leave home, I fix a cup of diet dew in one of those plastic 16oz thermo insulated mugs from Wal Mart to take my meds and drink on the way to work and if I get ready in time I will eat 1/2 cup cottage cheese and 1/2 cup of grapefruit or cereal and milk. Most days I don't get to eat those and I hit the door running. After I get to work I never get to go to the bathroom again until I get back home around 4:15 and I will leave work with the same glass of diet dew that I went there with not completely drank, it usually still has about a 1/4 of it in there. When I get home I'm hungry and tired. But I might grab as snack or wait till supper. So I'm not losing any weight... I don't know how to break the cycle of not being able to take lunch breaks at work. boo
-
hi Renee, I did some research and it looks like, unfortunately, Alabama does not require private-sector employers to provide rest and meal breaks for adults. But you must be paid for all hours you work, so they can't say you got a lunch break but make you work then not pay you for it.
If it were my company, I'd want to give my employees an unpaid lunch break to reduce fatigue, errors and burn-out. I wonder if there are any special rules for workers in the health-care field?
-
Badger--good for you for taking care of yourself! As far as I'm concerned that's worth ate least 3 points! Nice total you got there, too!
Mimi--that is so frustrating. Badger, good info!

hi birdies and Go Jane Go!
Friday check in = 3 points
Weight down from last week = 2 points
Exercise = 15 points
Daily H2O = 7 points
Extra credit = 1 point – Refrained from chocolate, cheese, sugar & wheat this week and dropped 1.5 lbs. Avoiding trigger foods is so much less complicated than counting calories or logging food into loseit.com (much as I like them, without a smart phone it's tedious).
Total = 28
-
Friday check in 3 Pt
Exercise 4 pt
Water 3 pt
-
Roadrunner here - Friday = 3 pts
Water = 7 pts (helps when you put cucumbers/limes or fruit in your water container because then you have to keep them in water so you keep drinking and filling)
Exercise = 8
Weight = 2 (down to 187.6)
Extra = 1 - logged into loseit.com every day which kept me on track with exercise and eating.
Total = 21 - one point over the goal I set for myself last week - YAY! Now to get that exercise up.
-
Wow, Patoo, you are inspiring!
-
Thansk Meece. That's what it's all about, each of us motivating one another. We all get into those slumps. I was in one for probably 6 months or more but now am trying to stay on track. Loseit.com is highly recommented and I know there are other similar websites.
-
I just got a very nice surprise, Birdies! I just took my Sadie for a walk, the first one in a long time. I was aiming for 1/4 mile round trip, that's my goal for this week, 1/4 mile twice. I actually, according to the pedometer, walked 0.6 miles! AND, my lower back isn't hurting as much as it was! Hooray for positive re-inforcement!
-
NM - good job, keep it up! Another reason to love your dog (as if you needed one LOL).
-
Know I'm going to be up this week and next as it is Summerfest here. I'll be drinking Miller Lite, eating fried eggplant and listening to great bands. Not even pretending to lose weight!
-
