I swear my scale is stuck at 173! I cannot believe it. I try to cut calories and it stays the same. I worked as a sub in the office at a high school this past week and there were three birthday parties each with a different dessert and a breakfast meeting and pizza sale of which the leftovers were placed on the credenza of my office. I need will power!
-
I will be weighing in this morning, I don't feel like I've made any headway, but I am not giving up. DH is back on board which will make it easier, he has a dr. appointment in June and he doesn't want his Dr. making comments about him still being the same weight at this appointment.

OK, holding steady. Better than gaining! Wish I weren't so blooming tired when I get home from work, I really need to get some exercise.

Roadrunner checking in
Missed Fri, late check in = 1 point
Weight 175 up from last week = 0 points
Exercise = 17 points
Daily H2O = 7 points
Extra credit = 1 point – set a goal to lose 6 pounds in the next 6 weeks. That'd bring me back to 169. Anyone up for a challenge?
Total = 26
p.s. just finished Salt Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us by Michael Moss. Great read - highly recommend. The supermarket will never be the same. So glad I have a small organic market nearby with fresh local food.

I haven't been on in a little while, but my scales are stuck too Meece I am fluctuation between. 154 and 156!!! UGH!! I haven't been able to stick to my diet really well or go back to the weight doc in almost 2 months since I started day shift because my doc doesn't see people after 3:30pm, he doesn't see people for wt. loss on Friday's and of course not on the weekends. Then there were a couple of weeks he was off when I was off and on it goes. Then my days off fell on the weekends. So NOW... I'm off and I'm going. Hope he will give me the meds I need to treat my migraines as well and up them to help better control them. It's been a while since they've been changed. Gotta do something can't stand having these cluster migraines all the time. UGH!! it really sucks.
-
I can't imagine trying to work with them, Mimi! I ate a salmon steak and some cauliflower and carrots for dinner last night and I felt plenty full. I guess the trick is to go to bed before the snacking urge sets in.
-
Mimi, sorry you're not feeling well. Hope doc can help.
Meece, I tried going to bed before snacking hit but that would put me in bed about 7pm every night!
I think we are all just in a rut right now and have to claw our way up, slowly but surely. Hang in there friends.
-
I wish I could be in bed by 7, I am exhausted.
-
Went to the weight doc today and he was happy that I had lost 6 lbs in 2 mos without meds!!! woo hoo!!! weight is exactly 154 lbs. I'm so freaking happy!!! and I'm wearing a size 8 and some 10's, depends on how they are made. I have firmed up... still have a long way to go and much flabbiness to get rid of, but I'm a long way from a 189 lbs that I start at last July! Now I've only been going to the weight doc six months and I'm amazed at how well I've done. I wanna weigh 132-134 lbs. At that weight I usually wear about a 4 or a 5/6. Much has to do with the way I'm built and carry my weight. I have lots of leg muscle if I could build it up and it wasn't cellulite. LOL!!! I'm working on it.
-
Congratulations, Mimi. That is great accomplishment! I really need to buckle down. I'd like to get back to 140-145 and were an 8-10. But if I don't work harder at it, it's not going to happen.
-
Seems many of us are in that rut so it's nice to come here and share our frustrations but also see some successes. Congratulations mimi1964 - it can be done. So even though I know I'm up, yes, I will come back tomorrow because at least I get 3 points for coming.
-
Mimi, that's awesome progress. Wish I could say the same. Up this week and still in the dreaded 170's ugh.

Daily H2O = 7 points

Also, a favor... please contact your US Rep to support the Lymphedema Treatment Act. It died in committee last year but will be reintroduced this year and needs sponsors. This website makes it so easy. I heard back from my MOC in a day. www.capwiz.com/lymphedematreat...
Thanks and have a great weekend! ♥

RoadRunner checking in:
Friday Check in = 0 points too busy, too tired to play on the computer
Weight 229# = 0 points
Water = 3 points
Exercised = 0 points
Extra Credit--= 0 points
Total = 3 points.
Rough week at work, very busy, working long days, no energy to cook when I get home so all eating out. Not drinking water like I should, no time for potty breaks. All of which stops after this weekend. I WILL drink 1000 ml water per day. I WILL take bathroom breaks. I WILL stop living on pizza. Work is going to be busy for a while, so I've got to get on top of this. On the other hand, I only gained 1 pound, much better than I thought I was going to do!
-
Mimi--annoying to not be able to get to a resource because of work hours!
Meece--going to bed before the snacking urge sets in pretty much means going to bed as soon as I get home from work! I've got to find another approach.
Mimi--Congratulations! Way to go, Woman!
Patoo--why does it always have to be an uphill battle?????
Thanks for sharing the lymphedema link. I'll definitely look into it.
-
Because if it was downhill, as we rolled we would pick up all the junk and really be a sorry mess when we reached bottom!
-
Good one, Patoo!
-
I'll have to remember that Patoo... LOL!!! loved it
-
Crud! Crud! Crud!
I am up! I worked outdoors more this weekend, even pedaled on the exercycle, and I am up! Made Ceviche for dinner Monday, what can be fattening about that? I really need to lose weight and it seems I am fighting a losing battle.
-
Hello Birdies,
NM, I don't think if you worked that hard last week that you can take a 0 for exercise! If you are doing lots of active moving, I think you deserve some points for that.
Friday ~ 3
Wt Dn (171.4) ~ 2
Water ~ 7
Exercise ~ 10
Ex Credit ~ 1 (Made an appt for my 6 month colon scope)
Total ~ 23
-
Roadrunner checking in (late) (yet again)
Missed Fri, but late check in = 1 point
Weight same as last week = 1 point
Exercise = 16 points
Daily H2O = 7 points
Extra credit = 1 point – reached goal of 3,500 miles walked since dx.
Total = 26
NM I agree with zogo re: points for active movement plus late check in is 1 point.
How about a new challenge: aim for at least 10 points for the upcoming week? ♥
-
Missed Friday check in but at one point yesterday I was at 172.7, after dinner I was more, but I was .3 lbs lighter than when I started up again, and 4.2 lbs lighter than earlier this week.
The heart meds I take make it hard to get a good exercise heart rate, I just get too tired, too quickly! But I did ride my exercycle some this week. Also worked on drinking more water.
I'm trying.
-
Meece, I'm proud of you for trying. I'm proud of all of us for trying!
It's been a struggle for me, and tamox + getting older aren't helping.
But coming here and working for points does help me stay accountable.
That's why I challenged everyone to aim for at least 10 pts next week.
-
Thank you so much for being here, Badger. It really does make a difference to have an accounability.

RoadRunner checking in:
Friday Check in = 0 points too busy, too tired to play on the computer
Weight 226# = 2 points
Water = 7 points
Exercised = 0 points
Extra Credit--= 1 points--on steroids
Total = 10 points.
Ok, been on steriods and antibiotics for asthma/probable pneumonia. Struggling my way through work days, trying to sleep when I'm not working, totally exhausted. I'm claiming a point just for the steroid pain in the anatomy crap, making me emotional and hungry all the time. I am so glad to wake up feeling better today.
The 10 point challenge sounds good to me!
I don't claim exercise points for work, most of the time I am driving or sitting and putting info into the computer. Although I do a lot of walking up and down the hallways. I need to get my pedometer back on and see if I can't claim some walking mileage. Be interesting to see how I'm doing, anyway.
-
Hi Birdies, I hope I will see all of your cheery "faces" today. Remeber, it's Friday!!
Friday 3 pts
Wt (Down 167.4) ~ 2 pts (do I get a point for all time low?)
Water ~ 7 pts
Exercise ~ 12 pts
Extra Credit ~ 1 pt (Flexible Sigmoidoscopy ~ could be my colon prep that has my weight down, but I hope it sticks. Good news...it looked so good, doc didn't even take a biopsy this time and I don't have to go back for a year)
total 24 pts
-
I think you should, Zogo.
Checking in on Friday 3 pts
170.4 down and all time low (Stress does wonders for the digestive system) 2 + 1
Water 1 pt
Exercise 2 pt
= 9 pts
Congrats on the good report!
-
great job ladies! I'm down this week, too. Jane, congrats on good report and yes you get an extra point for E-LAB low. Meece, I bet you did something good for yourself this week and could claim an extra credit point (hint hint). ♥
