i"m going to smack it anyway
i"ve been dragging it around with me for twenty years!!!!!
if that"s all it needed i"m going to have a hissy fit
-
HI Meece, Seems blooming of your flower may give a new life to other BC survivors. I too have some plants in my balcony but no flower is blooming inspite of my effort. Seeing your garden I am really inspire of having only plants blooming with flower round the year.
-
Gorgeous flower meece.
Reminds me of my night blooming cereus plant I had, left it out in the cold and it croaked. Mine was not this big.

-
Very Pretty. This was the gift I found this morning when I went into the greenhouse:

-
Two!! How exotic & exciting!
-
I know I looked at the plants yesterday afternoon, and there was no sign of the second bud.
-
Mumayan, perhaps you can share some of your DH's beautiful photographs here.
-
Well that makes it sort of creepy (in an exotic way!)
-
I have an amaryllis from Christmas that I planted just like the instructions said. It has 3 leaves now - took forever to start, and now has been like this forever! I think I'll go "thump" it! Maybe it'll bloom in 2-3 weeks! I'll let you know!
-
I told my DH about the tip after showing him Meece's picture of the daffodil and he actually looked over at the plant I've been eyeing all day! ehhehehehe. Told him I already thumped it. Will keep y'all posted.
-
Hey Barbe can I come over and kick your pot too. I think it would be good therapy.
-
A Marsh Wren singing in natures garden.

-
I have a family nesting in the gourd that I made into a birdhouse. Sooo cute.
House Wren -
And a Carolina Wren singing all day long.

-

I thought I'd start the page out with the Peruvian Daffodil
You had me gigling out loud, as usual, barb!
I wonder if I just go out and give my plants that don't bloom, a swift kick, if it will help them get in the mood.
-
Meece....Absolutely breathtaking.
I cant get over it how beautiful it is.
I keep coming here just to see it over and over again.
-
that and a passion flower are just the most stunning examples of god"s creativity and orchids too!
someone google passion flower and post a pic
i had one in real life and used to call it my disney flower
it looks like a child coloured it in
-
Passion flowers are goreous! DH doesn't like vining plants, but someday I'll convince him.

-
You all are so funny! My mind went to so many places like - wonder if that thumping would work on a lazy teenager with a very messy room?
Beautiful flowers and birds!
Meece you are inspiring me to start gardening once we are situated in Ohio! I'm ready to try some things that are a bit more relaxing.
We had hydrangeas in the Azores. Every fall we cut them to the ground. In the spring, they shoot up and the flowers are beautiful.

-
Grace, those thumped teens would probably call child protective services!!! But I sure wish I could try it!
-
eph 312 - I thought of that! So glad I am done with raising my children!!!
-
Grae, if you feel the need, and he needs it, You can thump Matt, but I'd hate it if it made him grow any taller. He says Japanese houses have low doorjambs.
-
A great place (Bragga) in Northern Portugal to sit and pray or meditate.

-
Meece - Matthew needs no thumping! He jumps up and does the dishes every Sunday after the meal! Most of our guys just sleep!
-
Matt loves to come to the aid of those in need. Talked to him this morning, he sounds happy, and is looking forward to camp.
I just noticed yesterday morning that my hoya is blooming:
I see another bud on the Peruvian Daffodil, too.
-
I never did the counting bit to give the kids a chance, If I started with one, they better have stopped what they were doing, on two I was on my feet and one three my hand was swating their little tushes! I didn't have to do that much because they knew I was going to follow through. Yep, these days you don't dare discipline, because the school teachers will turn you in if they hear you spanked your children.
-
Meece...I really mean this, you should send a picture of your hoya and Peruvian daffodils to one of the Garden magazines.
-
Thank you, Seyla. Each of the hoya stars are less than 1/2" across, they look like pale pink velvet. Before they bloom the buds look like wax pentagons. I'll have to take a picture of one of the bud clusters.
-
I vote with Sheila Meece! Beautiful!
-
unreal!!!!!
