Cake everything will be good. I myself do the 2 week rule.....
So I have been having some horrible craving for "sweets". Anything sweet. It seems it come and goes. I had a large mango today, very sweet, but it didn't satisfy my craving...*ugh*
So I bundled up and walked to the super market. In the dark. And bought a box of Rice Crispy's and a bag of marshmellows. Yup......I made Rice Krispie squares!!!!...lol.
Did you know that they are only 75 cal a square and 1.7grams of fat? Thats not bad....just dont eat more than 2!..lol

Thanks for the link, lexi. Welcome Viv and Kes.
All I can say is tomorrow's another day. I'm going to bed!

I want in!!
I need to lose about 40 lbs, but would be happy with 30! I just finished my final reconstructive surgery, but sometimes still feel lazy. I was diagnosed in January, right after my 40th birthday, and had double mastectomy, and chemo all summer. Not much activity!! I NEED HELP! I know there will be more pounds to come unless I get ahold of this NOW!

welcome louiebern!

Welcome louiebern. You can do it!

I will weigh myself tomorrow and will start. Last night DH went to the general store and picked up buttertarts and HagenDas ice cream bars because DD wanted dessert and I did have a helping. Will have to not do that, but boy did it taste good. Rice Krispie squares are better for you and I love them to. Will do that next time.
Oh crap, now I am making myself hungry.

Have been good. Planned my meals for the day , made a pot of peppermint tea to have cold later ( very hot here today ...(43 C which is about 109 F). Thought that would stop me heading for the fizzy drinks.
Good luck today ...stay strong everyone
Warm hugs

Hey all,
I'm back! I haven't posted in a while, I'm sure some of you thought I quit. I have been attending a program at my dr called 'it's not fate' for the last 3 wks. The theme is changing the way/what to eat in order regain health and lost vitality. It's a pretty complicated and involved process with weekly meetings, organic whole foods, some supplements (vit D, COQ10, Borage oil), daily excercise, and relaxation (qi gong, meditation, etc.) . I'm walking outdoors and eating better. I'm down 5 lbs, I think. Tonite I weigh at the dr office scale. Hope it is down.

Awesome, annie, good for you! Keep up the great work!
I on the other hand bought Rice Krispies today....
Darn, I forgot the marshmallows, tho!
Hopeless I am
-
Hello ladies.
I think my scale is stuck too. A good friend of mine says that maybe I've gained muscle. I'm still trying. I started radiation today, but am committed to keep exercising despite having to drive to the hospital every day. Lets hope the scales are kinder to us next week.
-
Hi ladies,
I had my weigh in and I am down the five lbs! One of the rules of eating this way is: no calories after 8pm. Ugh. Of course I'm hungry now. HUNGRY WOMAN ABOUT TO RANT ALERT!! It's so hard to reboot the brain (mine) that has been trained to expect a certain kind of food (carbs) whenever wanted (as soon as I say I'm going to eat better). My kids go to the appts with me since they aren't old enough to stay home alone. If we were away from home at dinnertime four weeks ago, we would have grabbed fast food. Now it's the grocery store for a healthy, fast meal. Only tonite I can't have anything because I'm having fasting labs done in the am. I haven't eaten since 1pm, so I could eat a shoe right now if there was bbq sauce to dip it in. Instead I'm going to go to bed and listen to the storm blow outside. Ahh, thanks for the place to vent; I feel better already. Nite all.

Any of you ladies get a pm about weight loss program? I just deleted it probably should of reported it.
-
Mum, yes, a few of us got it (as reported on other boards).
I fully expect my scale will be up - this hasn't been a good week with food. Might just skip this week's weigh-in. Will try and get back on track for next week. Oh, no, next week is Thanksgiving - sigh. Well, maybe aim for January weigh-in.
-
smart idea patoo. I'm sure you'll do great either way!
-
I made it through until labs at 10 this am . Man was I ready to eat at 10:30. I brought food with me so I could avoid eating badly because of ravenous hunger. I'm a coffee drinker and I still haven't got a cup but I still feel good and on track.
No one has pm'd me about a weight loss program. I'm happy doing it the way I am anyway. Five down 25 more to go. Have a good day all.

Hey ,
I did get a pm about some "weight management" thing but I never got around to reading it until tonite. I did not go to the site ,so I'm not sure what it was selling; I'm am sure I don't want any though.

Rice Krispies are really calling my name. Day off tomorrow and I think that I will go grocery shopping and buy the fixins to make them. That will be my last hurrah, and then down to really healthy eating. Lean protein, veggies, fruit and basmati rice. Oh how boring. No wonder why I have been stuck in the same spot for a year. Will weigh in after the RK squares are gone.
Anyone have any good food tips. Food that tastes good with 0 calories.

Sooooooo.....I feel lighter. I have not gone on the scale yet. Im scared too. I feel great! I noticed that my pants are looser or loosing. So I'm doing something right!..lol
I made another batch of Rice Krispie Squares last night. They are good when you crave the sweets. One square does the trick, usually.
I have not had any white carbs....oh wait ...I lie. I had some sushi last week.A treat, my California Rolls ect. I decided once a month I will indulge full force in my sushi.
But for some strange reason I have craved pancakes! And maple syrup! It must be the lack of white carbs...<sigh>...............
-
The first month, the weight poured off but now I am struggling to lose even a pound. I hope to lose 2 to 3 pounds by Christmas. I thought I'd reduce my expectations. I managed to gain 30 pounds in 6 months on chemo but I think it will take me over a year to lose that weight.
Lexislove: I craved pancakes a couple of weeks ago and made 3 small whole wheat ones. They were really good. And it prevented me from eating something else.
Have a nice day.

Okay, let's rev up this thread again. Anyone game?
Even after the turkey holiday I'm down today 2 lbs. So much running around with family and didn't have time to eat out-of-control as usual. Maybe need to keep them around (not!). Will just have to try and continue limiting my intake.
-
Patoo,
I'm in.......starting tomorrow.
I am sick of tired of looking like a brick
Hugs to all

Hi all...
So I weighed myself the otherday and no change. Nothing...I was at the gym doing 1/2 hour cardio sessions and watching my food. I have evaluated what I may have been doing wrong, eating post workout.
After working out Im so hungry, and if I work out after dinner, I tend to eat a little more. So, Im going to try to do my gym time in the morning or afternoon.
<sigh> I was hoping for some result, i guess its better than weight gain.
-
lol.....
Mandy, I went grocery shopping today and picked up some flax pancake mix and sugar free syrup!
I think Ill be having that for breakfast tomorrow...
Yesterday, I had a cheat day though. I had pizza, vegetarian. It has been so long since I had pizza. It was frozen pizza. Not as good as delivery...but a lot less calorie than some of the major pizza chains.
-
You mean we can't eat Pizza? I have it once a week fully loaded but no meat just vegies. Its the only junk food I will not go without.I have been exercising reg at the gym and doing an arm weight cycle for strength training. But this belly of mine will not budge.I am getting so fed up.
-
mumayan...lol.
Yes!!! Take one day a week an indulge in something. Pizza is my weakness too...I don't need chocolate or other sweets...just pizza.
I went on the scale again this morning. No clothes, empty stomach and weighed. No change. I have been for the last 3 weeks at the gym daily and thought I was watching what I ate. Maybe I need to watch a bit more? Im going to do the 7:00pm rule and NOT snack after. If I must, then only fruit or veggies.
I know it has only been 3 weeks, I feel lighter and better, but I thought I would be down maybe 3 lbs. a pund a week is not unreasonable.
I will re weigh myself January 1 and see what it says. If no change, or very little, I will have to ask my onc on my check at my Jan 12th what to do....
<sigh> this sucks.
-
I also have the 7pm rule.Maybe I should see a doctor as well. I am exercising so much my back is starting to bother me at night.
-
I can hear your frustration mumayan....
Maybe make an appointment with your GP and just ask. This is so really frustrating. I lost weight 1 year ago, about 23lbs, on Tamoxifen but I was only eating 800 calories a day. No carbs or dairy. After 2 months I was getting lite headed and very irratible. So I stopped. I dont want to go that route again.....it seems like that is the only way though.
-
thats what my husband says he thinks I need an extreme lowcal diet.but i think i will ask the doctor first.
-
I weighed myself yesterday and no change. So now I will start from yesterday. Has anyone tried the GI diet? That works for me. But it is so boring. Lots of steamed veggies, salads, low fat meat and small carbs. I will try and not eat after 7pm or I may have to change that to 9pm. I will see how it goes. Good Luck to all.
