Hi she say's waving, you lovely women are the loveliest. I've missed you all too and good to see (wow Mary!) and read of all the active doings. HeidiHill, taking a glance across the channel to say it's EU referendum nuts here and even though I can't vote, I'm a IN and not want this island isolated and broke. Sad to say, it's not just the US that hatred has publicly and politically infected. Annie, like the painting! Happy TGIF Everyone

Step at the gym and tai chi afterwards. Loving tai chi.

Good to see you, Lilac! Thanks for checking in - as you can see you were missed! And you're having your own shooting horrors over there with the murder of that MP. As you say, hatred is an infection that's not limited just to the US.

Hi all. Yes badger, take care of #1 first. Gone are the days when the company cared about the employee. Now it's all about the bottom line or agenda for the shareholders/constituents. Life is very short and tomorrow is not guaranteed. Very nice picture Annie. I try my hand at all kinds of 'stuff' but it usually, like Nats, looks like something a 4 yo did (sorry 4yo's just using you who are many times talented as an example!).

12.5 miles on bike this morning followed by Leslie Sansone but only made it to about 3.1 miles and crashed. A little rest and then walked with sister and a friend around a huge flea market and antique mall. It was huge and only half was open on a Friday, more of them will be there (not me!) tomorrow and Sunday.

    Night sculpted friends.

My heel has been hurting me for a month, so I finally showed it to my nurse practitioner friend who says I have an inflamed bursa (a little sac of fluid behind the heel that acts as cushioning). Ice, elevate, Aleve, stay off it (hahahaha), wear sandals instead of shoes (good thing it is summer!) etc. etc. So I will try to semi-follow her advice....I went to the YMCA and rode a bike for 45 minutes instead of walking & later iced my heel while reading a book on the deck after I did errands this afternoon.

    Ruth....take care of your foot.

My son came home for the week-end. He texted us yesterday to tell us he was coming. DH is in Charlotte NC at a trade show. Son is having dinner with me and his sister. So nice to see him!! One of his bff was in an awful motorcycle accident in Thailand in January...broke both legs among other injuries....The had to med evacuate him back to the states after a period of time in Thai hospital. Well, long story short, one of his legs has not healed, lots of infections etc. This young guy in his late 20's may loose his leg. So my son came home to spend time with him. If I don't mind saying, my son turned out to be a fine young man.

Well, I best get off the computer and get ready for Shabbat.

My goodness Ruth take care of that foot. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree Karen.
I am going to a baby shower tomorrow so at lunchtime went out to a Carters store to buy gifts, then went to the grocery store next door and picked up a few things then back to my car - no car keys, I went back to both stores looked everywhere and car is sitting there locked, I was panicked and frustrated at the same time, I finally found a security guard and lo and behold he had them apparently I dropped them as I walked to the store, whew....

    Tonight went to Zumba.

Ruth- I know it will be hard but stay off of that heel as much as you can - you know the drill by now -if you push it it'll get worse and you'll be out of action even longer. (Of course I'm real good at giving advice, but not so good at taking it whe it's my turn!)

Karen - I'm so sorry about your DS's young friend. Hoping that they can save the leg.

Cheryl - just think of all the extra steps you got in retracing your steps!

Ran another 5K race this morning- no medal this time but finished 8 out of 23 in my age group so I'll take it. Meeting my cousins for dinner tonight at the new World of Beer that just opened nearby - we went to one near Chicago and loved it, so I'm looking forward to having a local one.

Shrink Your Fat Zones (pilates) with Denise Austin. On a mat, no shoes, lots of floor work...so my heel is relatively happy at the moment.

Badger cut back on the work. Patoo is so right plus I just read this week that women working long hours are more prone to cancer and heart disease. Hmmm. I always thought stress did me in.

Ruth I hope your heel feels better soon. It seems that feet take so long to heal.

Cheryl glad you found your keys. that will ruin your day.

Karen enjoy your sons visit. His poor friend. I hope he improves.

Mommy I had landscapers come today to do a lot of work I normally try to do. But it was not lost on me that while I went out to bike and walk, I could have been exercising in my yard.

Last night I went for a 17 minute walk around 9 pm. It was still light out which is so cool. Today I went for a 30 minute walk and then rode my bike on the trail for 35.

hi all, yes stress is a killer. The last straw was a new policy requiring 100 hours of training for everyone. We'd have a while to get it all done but I'm already swamped with my core job duties so when would I squeeze that in. I thought screw this, no more donating time. Talk with supervisor and prioritize workload. Can't get it all done? Either take something off my plate or pay me overtime.

Was in the middle of a project Friday afternoon, time to go - left it there. Will be there Monday morning.

Started today with a morning walk, got a haircut & did errands, then then went to greenhouse for a few more things. End of season sale on so picked up two flats then had to plant them. Nice way to spend the day, taking a break on the front porch and drinking a beer in the shade. There's still work to do but it's for us, not them. For example, find the summer clothes and unpack them, an overdue task.

DD went to see Finding Dory tonight at a 10:30 or so start time. She told me that I didn't have to wait up for her, that she would come kiss me when she got home. Yeah, right I'm going to go to bed before she gets home!! The only time I've done that was a couple weeks ago when she helped a neighbor out by babysitting when her flight was delayed and DD got home close to 3 am...That late, I wasn't going to stay up. She did come in and kiss me good night.

DH gets home tomorrow morning....I need to go his father's day present from DD and my DD and SIL....beer...DD#2 is too young to buy alcohol and DD and SIL don't live here, so need to pick it up for them. DS will get it for his dad since he is here. Also need to pick up something from my mother since she doesn't get out. Hope DH doesn't mind that I'm not getting it till tomorrow. Also, a friends DD is giving us a gas grill (she needed to find someone to take it) and I need DH to help me get it. She said if we could meet her around 6 that would be great....not sure DH will be pleased, but will see what I can do.

Supposed to be 99 tomorrow....not sure how hot it got today but it was HOT!!! Not ready for this heat yet.

Counting down days till DD#2 leaves for the summer...only 5 days and that means I leave in 12 days. Booked a place for my first few days in Israel though AirBnB. It looks really nice and is reasonable. Unfortunately, it is booked for the end of my trip. Hoping to stay with a gf the 2 week-ends during the time I volunteer. Still need to figure out the last 10 days of the trip...also what I want to do. I guess there is time, but I'm not one who can wing it...I like things to be planned out.

    Sweet dreams.

Hot here too. I think it's hot everywhere! Nice Father's Day bike trip up the lake trail. 1hour 46 minutes there and back but a good breeze and a good bit of shade all the way on this 89 degree day. I will sleep well tonight!

LilacBlue: So good to see you again! Tai Chi sounds really neat. I always love reading what all you are doing.

Ruth: Ouch on your heel! Ice Ice Baby

Badger: Good for you. Stick it to The Man before he sticks it to you. Stress is a killer for sure.

Nats: What a great way to get a rose!

M0mmy: I get a lot of my exercise in the form of yard work. It's a workout for sure!

Karen: So sorry about your ds's friend. How awful. I know you're getting excited about your trip. Hope you can keep us posted during your volunteering and adventures.

Cheryl: Glad you found that security man!

    Annie: your painting is beautiful!

TH: It's still light enough here a little before 9 to go out for a walk.

Hi All! We have had great weather this weekend. It's been hot BUT low humidity. I've been staying outside as much as I can either doing yard work or sitting in the shade reading a book (I'm rereading It). Like Badger, I also had a beer or two. Friday and today I walked/ran. Saturday I push mowed the entire yard by myself bc dh was out of town. We have 2 push mowers and mow together. It was a lot but I did it! The low humidity and breeze certainly helped.

Ahh Ruth we are good at giving the 'rest and recover' talk but find it hard to take our own advice. Certainly appears to be hot everywhere, it was 108 where I was today and getting in the car to come home was an experienced and they say we have another hot one tomorrow

    This morning did Body Pump.

Not hot here! I froze on Saturday as in the low 50s and raining. I tried to do a ride and got rained out. Yesterday, it was the most gorgeous June day!  Got in a great training ride with a couple good hills.

One thing I accomplished was clean out my email Inbox. Step 2 will be unsubscribing to the junk email.

Hopefully, can fit in another ride after work to be ready for Saturday's metric century.

I am trying to figure out a September trip to NYC and Boston to see friends and also some business colleagues. I haven't been to Boston in quite some time and love the place. Plus there are new places to cycle that I'd like to try out and relive part of my college years.

Have a great week everyone and stay cool! - Claire

Hit the community pool yesterday - like everyone else it's hot here! It's about a mile and a half round trip to the pool, so we walked over and back to get a few more steps in. It's the first time we've been, and it was very nice. They even have a daily water volleyball game at 3 - wow some of those seniors can pack a wallop on that ball! I'll have to work up enough courage to join them some time.

It's nice here.....in the 70s. Come North to Dakota!!

I am going to do some yard work, possibly check out more kitchen remodeling stuff, Zumba & yoga tonight. The only thing I will have to wear tennis shoes for is Zumba.

You could get a bicycle, Ruth. Pressure is on the arches/more towards the front of the foot. I know this because I have cycled with heel blisters. May warm into the 70s here today. If too hot, there are mountain streams that will cool you right down.

One reason I moved here is that I just love the summers. And when it does get hot, there are wonderful places to swim. Still haven't dared venture into the Puget Sound which remains cool year around. - Claire

    Good Morning All!

Just reading through and catching up.

Ruth Take care of that foot. How frustrating to have your routine disrupted you looked like you in an amazing workout zone! As you said to me you will get it back !

Badger I hear you on the work stress level! I was lucky enough to be able to retire when I felt it was unmanageable. To be replaced by 2 people! Take care of yourself and good for you to leave knowing it would still be there come Monday!

    Finished rads yesterday!!!!!

Dirty 30 21 day fix workout today. Need to get back on track

Congratulations PlanB! A great thing to have behind you!

I went to Pound this morning & will do Barre tonight (both which you can do barefoot....my heel just really hurts when wearing shoes). I ordered an ankle brace, which just came today, and will wear it tomorrow when I walk (I can't not walk on Wednesday!) to see if the heel being more contained in the brace will make any difference. Alas!
