Thanks, guys for the great advice on exercising and weight loss!!
Ruth and Patoo, love North Dakota and the Villages!! God only knows where we finally land, he,he!!

DD#2 and I are going to go for a bike ride tomorrow morning...early for her is 9AM. I have to be back for 11. The tires were flat, flat, flatter than flat...Walked to the 7-11 which is maybe 10 minute walk but was slow as i was trying to keep her bike tires off the ground because they were so flat..not air at all. We rode back. I have a cruiser (3 speed) which I love but in a way, I think it is harder to ride. DD spends most of her spare time with friends so it is a treat to do something together that's not eating or shopping!!! We will spend some time together over the next 2 weeks before she leaves for the summer. Unfortunately, the fitbit won't track the bike riding, so i'll still have to go for an early morning walk.
-
Ruth - great picture - definitely a bucket list place for me. Claire - fun picture with the wineglass. Karen - the trip sounds fabulous!
Yep, my poison ivy got worse, so I went to see the dermatologist Monday for some heavy duty weapons. Got some pred pills and a stronger cream and finally things are resolving! Managed a 2.5 mile run Tuesday evening and this morning, prepping for a 5K race Saturday morning. I'm hoping it's not too hot!
-
Nice walk this morning, but it was already feeling hot at 8:15 so our bike ride will be hot...we are heading out in the next 15 minutes or so. Have a great day. Will let you know how it goes and if I melt!!
-
Played masters tennis 8am and was sweating up a storm by 9. Only 4 of us came out so we put in 3 sets then quit. Probably not much else today as it is supposed to go into the 90's again. After Bible study and some shop and sculpt may try get some time in at the pool
Kindergarten, ruthbru is always travelling so you won't have her as much as you will have me if you move to The Villages!!!
Okay, my houseguest just closed on her house next door so will help her move some small stuff in. Her furniture arrives tomorrow.
Later friends.

Heidi. . .lol when I'm at the waterpark, I have to keep taking the Fitbits off to go in and on the rides. So in between I make sure to move my lymph node arm a hundred or so times to get those steps back.
At the gym feeding the Fitbits after a rough few days at work.

The rain cleared out just in time for 28 minute walk this evening.
-
I will definitely keep it hat in mind, Patoo!! 😉😉
Took a great walk this morning and then did some cleaning and sculpting!!!
-
Scottiemom et al, if you are not immersing in water, just going on water rides, put your fitbit in a pouch designed to protect cell phones from moisture. Fold it over and stick in a pocket. I put my fitbit one into a small ziploc bag and then into a cell phone case and actually do water aerobics which is totally immersed (I fold the case over and put inside my swimsuit). It stays totally dry and counts my steps when in the water.

Kindergarten, spend the summer in North Dakota and the winter in Florida (and I will come visit you guys). Perfect solution!
-
Very busy doing interesting things. Yesterday we visited the Crazy Horse Monument (a work in progress and includes a wonderful museum, education complex etc.). A tribute to the Native, and first, Americans.

My DS called tonight. I haven't really talked to him since he left mid May. He said he tried calling but no one was home. He said he figured that I was at my mom's. Not sure why he tried the land line instead of cell, but I was so happy to chat with him. He's not a talker so this was especially special. He also talked to his younger sister an then called his dad as he was not home. DS has turned into a really great guy, whats the word for a 27 year old!! His job is only seasonal, but there is a chance that it could be extended. They are doing a lot of training and he seems to like what he is doing. He's working for the National Forest Service and living in Rapid City S.D. He rented an apt online and he said it pretty nice and was pretty much like the pictures. He has a bed, end table and is getting a sofa and something else but I don't remember what he said. As a kid, he ate his fill of junk food, but as an adult he has taken to eating healthy. DS was complaining that he can't find good produce, that its not fresh. Talking to him made my week!!
DD #2 and I only rode for about an hour. It was hot and neither one of us have been on a bike in a while. She runs on the treadmill at the gym and I walk close to 15K steps/day. But walking and running uses different muscles than bike riding! I think I'm in shape till I do different exercises and realize that I'm in shape as a walker!!
It's going to be hot the next couple of days, in the 90's for Denver.
Sweet dreams

Sylvan Lake in Custer State Park.
-
The Needles Highway, also in Custer . Yikes!
-
Wow, Ruth, great pictures!! You are having an awesome trip!! Great idea about renting in both places!!
Lots of stairs and walking yesterday!!!
-
OK Ruth. Where is the one of you in the water "au naturel"?
-
90+ degrees today!! way too HOT for me!! Tomorrow is Shabbat and then Sunday and Monday is a holiday, so I will be off line tonight through Monday night. Have a good week-end.
-
Love all the pictures, Ruth!
Karen: We are also expecting 90+ degrees with higher humidity. Ugh. I have really been enjoying our lower humidity days.
Walked/ran this evening.
-
Claire, that ship sailed long ago! One more gorgeous picture. Tomorrow we head for home.
-
Great pics ruthbru. Looks like so much fun.
Unpacking to bend and sculpt (friend closed yesterday on her house next door) and then went to Bone Builders class for a rest as she won't let you catch a breath.
Another scholarship (took me 3 tries to spell that right) luncheon tomorrow and then will try and duck my new neighbor (she used our guestroom for 3 months ) and escape for a bike ride. Lookout mysunshine, as I may end up at your house.

hi all, great pix! Ruth I am amazed at how far the Crazy Horse sculpture has come. It was a mere suggestion in the rock when I was there ?? years ago.
Hit 6,000 miles walked this morning! Was 7.5 miles from goal and did it in three increments of 2.5 on Weds & Thurs after work (really nice string of fair-weather days) then this morning. Was thinking about another cup of coffee then heard Voices saying get out early, the heat & humidity arrived yesterday. Thanks for the motivation my Sculpted Sisters. New goal is 7,500 miles woo hoo!
-
That is a lot of miles Badger. Good work.
Wow Ruth gorgeous pictures. Looks like a trip out that way should be on my list.
The heat has spread our way too. I got out around 10 for a bike ride. 47 minutes. It was only 85 - going to 93 today. Going to water my plants, take a shower and go shopping again this afternoon.
-
Bike ride this morning in high humidity. Temps got up into 90's today but i was inside all afternoon. Cooling a little now but still humid. Hanging with friends tomorrow (you meet so many new friends here, not just acquaintances but people who become real friends) so probably very little exercise but will make up for it on Monday.

Really pretty pictures, Ruth. I was there many years ago and would like to visit again.
Kindergarten......come visit and see how you like The Villages.
Patoo....I went for another bike ride today too. Since it was cloudy I thought it wouldn't be too bad. Wrong! I rode an hour, did some yard work, and promptly felt dizzy and lightheaded.....again! Ohhhhh, going to really have to watch it! Ekkk, get up earlier????
My class tomorrow night!
Wonderland, sounds like summer is here!
-
Gorgeous pics Ruth!
Did a couple hours of gardening today. 90 and very muggy here.
Have a great weekend everyone
-
My Sunshine. Electrolytes!!! I am serious. I was cramping in my left foot a bit earlier, and ate a couple of Shot Blocks. All more than OK now. This is post dinner with gourmet mushroom/potato omelet, sugar snap peas, asparagus, and of course wine.
Rode in the mixed sun/rain. I got new batteries for my bicycle trip monitor, odometer, speedometer. 25+ miles all told. Doing a Wine Ride in the AM. All is well. - Claire
-
Nice cool morning, surprising considering how hot it was yesterday afternoon and is supposed to be again today. Overcast with a light breeze, it looks like a storm is coming in so got out early for 2.5 mile walk.
-
Got home pretty late last night, just now did an hour of pilates.
-
I have such a heavy heart today, I can't believe what's going on, so darned senseless, I look at Ruth's pictures and it is such a beautiful country I just can't comprehend how someone can hate so much, so sad and so horrific
I have been super busy at work but have kept up my exercise schedule. This morning did Body Pump and half a Combat class, yesterday was Spin, Friday took a rest day and in Thursday did Bidy Pump and Grit Cardio
-
When I was in the Black Hills, one of the things I commented on that made me the most proud, was all the people of every race, nationality, age etc. mingling together enjoying the wonders of both man and nature.....and then you turn around and there is this......and it could happen to anyone, anywhere.....I could do a rant about our national lack of will to confront the gun lobby, but that is for another thread.....
