Thanks. Annie!! I need to do crunches as well!! My middle section is just awful! What are some good exercises for that and what foods should I stay away from? I have given up breads and sweets!

Lots of things for the core; if you strength the core, the stomach shrinks as well (plus all the crunches etc.)

We had lots of fun at DHs family reunion; and as I expected, I got 0 exercise and un-numbered amounts of calories....much of it from cookies, cake and chips.Shocked Oh well, I thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. I just did a few weights while watching Meet the Press this morning, and walked a little & did some yard work this afternoon.

Let's dance, put on your red shoes and dance the blues... We could go on forever, couldn't we?

I went for a bike ride this afternoon-1hour 20 minutes. I hope the beneficial effect of the exercise is not overridden by the grass pollen and mold inhaled. I feel pretty congested this evening.

I was in "low chain ring" mode today. Fortunately, my cycling friend had pix of the prior flat (hole in tube) and I spent over one hour at the bike shop. The perils of custom made wheels! They hadn't put the lining tape in correctly which was the source of my two flats. So fixed gratis!!!

Afterwards...and this was a mistakeDevil....I went for a slow ride on the path that is half gravel. My poor nether regions! That said, I did finish the planned 100 miles for the 3 days. And of course part of the training is getting the lady parts in shape to handle a major beating.

More training next weekend. Not sure what else I will be doing, but I will be getting in about 120 miles. 60 of these will be on Sunday and include a stop for beersSillyHeart

Glad to have the flat tire problem sorted out. Making a prawn Indian dish for dinner. Should be delish. - Claire

Went out to dinner with a girlfriend....we had so much fun talking and talking and talking. I managed to get a walk when I got home, though it was late so not as long as I wanted.

Started working on my online courses. Got 1 class (1.5 hours out of 10) done today. Planned on doing another one tonight but so far it hasn't happened. Maybe I should just go to bed early and get up early. My certification doesn't renew till end of July so I could pay a small late fee and do it in August when I get home, but knowing me I will put it off. Plus the week I get back is almost already booked full, then the next week its back to the new school year. So I just need to be really diligent tomorrow. I want to have it all done Wednesday. Having lunch with a girlfriend tomorrow and will go see my Mom. On Wednesday want to get a pedi. And of course I need to pack, but I'm not worried about that. Trying to figure out how much I can take for DD.

DD#2 had a great time with DD#1 DD#1 told me that her little sister got very good treatment. Then DD#2 told me that her big sister said she hoped I would spoil her when I'm there. Of course I will and I'll give them some money for paying for sister. It is so nice to see the relationship my girls have developed the past few years. They are 12 years apart, so for many years DD#1 was like the second mother. A few years ago they spent some time alone and the relationship changed to sisters. Love that they have each other.

My son just texted me and said flossing a filling came out. He's coming to Denver for the week-end so hopefully he can get into the dentist. And hopefully he's not in pain. And hoping its not a root canal, just fixing the filling!! He ate more than his fair share of junk as a kid and has the fillings to show for it.

    Sweet dreams.

Good luck with your busy schedule, Karen!

Took a little walk (in sandals, I am babying the heel), did 45 minutes of toning, watered the whole yard, and acted as the 'go-for' as DH has decided this would be a good time to sand & stain the deck.....really it is NOT a good time as I am trying to get ready for our annual 4th of July picnic, but; since he usually has to be dragged into projects kicking & screaming & the deck DOES need work, I decided it is worth the hassle to get it done.

    Gorgeous weather here!!!!

Been off the boards for several days. Air conditioning is still out at the gym so my workout schedule is shot to heck. They swear that the landlord is installing the new unit tomorrow.

My exercise tonight was getting the snacks ready to watch the season finale of GOT. Two days late since our schedules are out of wack.

Cheryl I can only wish for a wedding in Napa sounds wonderful!

Ruth hope the heel is responding to all your care. I always wondered why my DH always cleaned the garage before big gatherings!

Did upper body today and got the house cleaned. Packing for our anniversary trip excited to wear a regular bra! Who knew I would ever appreciate that! As I was packing saw the bag with my wedding dress in it. Tried it on and it fit!!!! Went down to greet DH in it. He was appropriately impressed

TH and Ruth: I want some of your good weather! Hot and humid here.

PlanB: That's great that your wedding dress still fits!

    Walk/ran late this evening. Sweaty.

PlanB how great your dress fits. Let me tell you Napa is very expensive I was actually thinking of staying in either Sacramneto or San Francisco and driving in but the brides mother invited me to stay in the home they have rented, I was her bridesmaid 35 years ago and the bride is my goddaughter. Ruth keep babying that heel. Wonderland it's hot and sticky here too, ughhh.

Tonight did Grit Strength and CXWorks, my shoulders feel so tired I don't know if I have the strength to get my bra over my head

2.5 mile run this morning - saw the deer mom and the twin fawns, but the fawns were just lying down chillin' under the trees - no gamboling today.

Beautiful picture, but my goodness that's flat!!! As Claire says, great for cycling. Running, too, as I hate hills. Hoping the foot gets better so you can walk to your heart's content on vacation.

Ruth, love the "history buff" t-shirt. Is that Pres. Lincoln with all the muscles?

I have sore feet too and know it affects everything. I'm predisposed to arthritis and a year into anastrozole (generic Arimidex) to which I attribute a marked increase in creakiness. Hostessing on Mothers Day did a number on my feet. Was on my feet for hours and did how many miles? Feet so sore I had to wear sneakers to work all week. Had a lump in the arch of my left foot that resolved itself but now I click a little when I walk. We'd better get better by October!

Nice walk this evening. Keep up the good work my Sculpted Sisters!

40 minute walk on another gorgeous evening. . It's so hard to work, though, on days like this. I would rather be outside. But looking forward to a3.5 day weekend coming up!

Yes, that was my man, Abraham Lincoln, with the muscles. He actually did have a wonderful physique, which he maintained throughout his life (you just can't see it under all those clothes). I got the tee shirt at the Presidential Wax Museum in Keystone, SD, which is right next to Mount Rushmore.

    * one more interesting piece of Lincoln Exercise Trivia: back then people would go to wrestling matches and bet on them for entertainment. The young Lincoln was a GREAT wrestler, losing only once in 300 matches. He has an Outstanding American Honor in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame!

Ruth: Beautiful picture of where you walked! I can see the pain in your heel in your group picture.

Badger: I was on Arimidex for 3 years and there were times my feet hurt so bad I wanted to cut them off. Walking helped. I had lots of trouble with my feet (especially my heels) while on Taxol and I think I have lingering effects from it which worsen while on Arimidex.

Went to the Farmer's Market today to purchase lots and lots of tomatoes. Came home and cooked a delicious homemade tomato soup. This evening I weeded our small garden for 1 hour. Need to mow either tomorrow or Friday.

Did 20 miles of cycling on the trail this evening. Scent of all the trees and flowers was just heavenly, especially the lavender and honeysuckle.

Did a detour to the bank and also to Trader Joe's where I got some Crémant de Bourgogne (French sparkling rose wine) to have with tonight's burger and salad. It's all my friend Dia's fault. She posted pix of a tasting of REAL champagne on Facebook. I am making do with the less expensive version which is still quite delish.

My feet are NOT the body part (s) I feel at the moment. But I may tomorrow evening as need to get in a run to cross-train.

A few more weeks till fresh, local tomatoes. But do plan on getting beans etc. Saturday at the farmers market.  Have roasted beets to pile on my salad tonight. YUM!!! - Claire
