Took a long walk in the gorgeous setting sun.
-
Gorgeous, Ruth. Looks like here except we still have leaves on the trees.
Scottie: Sounds so frustrating!
Walked/ran this evening. Enjoying every minute of this weather.
-
Pretty ruthbru. Watched a nice sunset here tonight sitting at outdoor patio by the lake having dinner with my houseguest, on BCo as mysunshine48! Forgot to have waitress take our picture but will get one before she leaves in a couple days so can post. We walked along the lake and through the very active town square. We put in extra steps because I'm still prone to getting lost so took us awhile to find our cars. Will be loads of fun showing her around for a couple days.

Scottie....I had to laugh as I do that too...well not after I get into bed, but before bed, I'll walk around the house to get the steps in!!! The rain the past 2 days have made it a challenge to get my steps in. Didn't get my 15K yesterday, but managed today as I had a meeting this afternoon that I walked to in between the rain and then walked after dinner when it finally stopped raining...I feel so much better when I can walk....But Scottie, I had to walk around the house Tuesday night to get steps in and still didn't make my goal.
-
An hour with my trainer yesterday. And boy do I know it today.
Trying to decide on a shirt for my 10K in a couple of weeks. (Also having a jacket embroidered with Survivor)
Thoughts? -
I like the first one because that is exactly what we do every day (for the rest of our lives!)
-
Me too......wake up, kick butt, repeat......exactly!
-
I like the first one also.
Walked/ran today. A little warmer but still nice. Tomorrow I will be parking cars at my church for a huge festival that's in my town. It's estimated that almost 200,000 people attend it. My town only has a population of 19,000. Here's a link to the festival: http://barbecuefestival.com/
-
The barbecue festival looks super fun & super yummy too!
Went to my lovely yoga class this morning & have been doing a little spot house cleaning this afternoon. We are having a rainy day, which is wonderful because it hasn't rained since July. I had to fiddle around on the dashboard because I couldn't remember where the wiper blade button was!
Happy Weekend!
-
Outrunning. . .first one is sooo true, but I'm partial to the second one. I created a faux and fabulous t-shirt design but haven't had time to n get it printed. Maybe before year's end. I exercised my mouth today: at PT yell I ng b/c my therapist was pushing me too hard and on the phone with insurer. There excuse this time was that facility is out of plan. . .until I reminded the supervisor's supervisor that they pay all of the claims for this facility in plan except for the monthly shots.

Outrunnng, I love all the shirts, all are inspiring!!
Went to the gym again today!!! Also pulled three kids in a wagon, yikes, hurting tomorrow! 😃😃
-
Been off this thread and exercise for a while. Finally did a kickboxing class this morning - first workout in 8 days! I went to Cabo 2 weeks ago & ended up getting sick there. Returned home last Saturday & ended up in the ER on Sunday. Turns out I contracted Salmonella! Going to the bathroom has since become my only activity of late
it's really been a tough bug to overcome & I'm still not there.
Outrunning, I just started rads too - yesterday. Was supposed to start last Monday but it got pushed back since I was so sick. Maybe we can work on our rad countdown together? Do you have 33 sessions too? Can't wait to be done & put that behind me.
Following rads, my doctor wants me to have my ovaries removed. Has anyone else done that? Sounds pretty extreme, but if it would help with the chance of a recurrence, I'm on board.
-
Oh no Angiel that does not sound like a fun vacation, hope you are better soon. Oh Scottie how frustrating having to deal with the same insurance problem over and over every month. Outrunning I like them all but I'm partial to #1. Wonderland I sure wish I was visiting you this weekend
.
My routine for the last few days has been - Thursday Body Jam, Friday Body Pump followed by Zumba then Body Combat this morning, my poor shoulders are worn out.
Okay LB see if you can find yourself, hope you had a great time in Stockholm...
-
What a rotten souvenir to bring back from vacation, Angiel!
It's still very nice here. Walked for an hour this morning and did some yard work this afternoon.
Neat picture, Cheryl!
-
Angiel. . .so sorry and hope you kick that bug completely soon. At the gym tonight I'm exhausted but I need this.
Scottie
-
patoo, don't forget to post a picture of you and mysunshine48 and greet her from us too!
-
10/24- Nice hour work out at the gym with cardio resistance. Fun music this afternoon with Earth Wind and Fire, Michael Jackson and more. I thanked the young men at the desk for the tunes on my way out!
-
Angie: Salmonellosis is awful! Stay hydrated and rest.
Jazzy: I love Earth Wind and Fire!
I parked cars for over 4 hours today at our huge festival. We made about $1300. Dh and I walked around the festival for 1.5 hours. Now I'm home resting my tired feet from standing and walking on concrete all day!
-
hi all and welcome the new ladies! Been away a while so need to catch up from page 880. Will do that throughout the day but wanted to post a quick update.
We bought a new house and are selling ours to a friend so has to be extra-clean upon exit. We close on the new house in Nov and this one probably in Dec and can't do it all at once so a head start was the only option. Been vacuuming, scrubbing & painting. Got all the curtains washed and the plastic is up on all the windows but one - where my plants get their sunlight - but today's the day to seal that one up I think. Have rendered homeless dozens of spiders. Moved the fridge yesterday and will do behind the stove next weekend. OMG I have to clean the oven LOL.
Been keeping up with walking but not keeping track so I'm going to figure an average of 2.5 miles a day and post 75 miles since my last post was 30 days ago. (blushing emoji) Sorry to have been gone so long and thanks to those who reached out to see if I was OK.
Mom should call soon then it's on to more cleaning & packing. I'll BBL this afternoon. ♥

ruthbru, thought I had posted; must be on another thread. mysunshine48 and I outside The Villages sales office. She's leaving today but we had a wonderful, busy, visit.
badger, congratulations on your new home purchase and selling your current one.
-
Looking good, patoo and sunshine!
Badger, DS is moving and used Professional Grade Easy Off (no fumes) Oven Cleaner. His oven looks amazing and cleaner than my (self cleaning) oven ever has. He said he just sprayed it on at night and wiped it off the next morning. I am definitely buying myself a bottle (and recommending it to you).
Did a 45 minute toning DVD & a just a mile on the treadmill. We are having company for dinner so now need to get my act together.
-
Hi, Patoo and MySunshine!! Beautiful Ladies!!
Ruth. Thanks for the tip!!
Badger, congratulations on your new home!! Hope everything goes smoothly!!!
-
Well, just found this thread and am so glad. You gals are very inspiring! Looking forward to getting clearance from doc to begin exercising soon. Had LX and SNB Wednesday so am still recuping from that. I have lost 35 pounds since May and need to lose another 35 more but am committed. Getting BC definitely got my attention and I am "all in" to take care of myself!
Looking forward to staying in touch with y'all. Btw:- may get a bottle of that oven cleaner, too. Mine is self-cleaning but the fumes are TERRIBLE! Hugs!
-
Welcome, marymallette!
-
Welcome marymallette. Fumes on a self-cleaning oven? First I've every heard that. Never had fumes with mine but I guess since I never cooked much in it there wasn't much to burn off!
Biked 6.5 miles this afternoon while mysunshine48 (Lynn) rested before her 4 hour drive home. May go out for short walk in a bit. (or not) One more day of 'single' living then my sister arrives and moves in permanently.

OK I am caught up and wow I counted eight new ladies on this thread - welcome all!
Happy belated Birthday, Wonderland! The big 6-0 and you look fabulous!
Patoo, you look great in your new convertible. Retirement agrees with you!
A couple weeks ago I did a 5K for Special Olympics and walked it in 41:43.
Done working for the day and the house is looking good. Smells good too, scalloped potatoes & ham in the oven for supper. Have a great week ahead, everyone!
-
Beautiful fall day. One hour walk on the overlook trail and I found a nice resting spot with stone slabs to sit on.
-
Pretty.
-
Luv the picture Patoo and mysunshine. Badger I wish I had the energy to clean my house. TG I have a great housekeeper who comes twice a month but it's never enough. There's lots to do and I need to declutter again. Been here 17 years. As soon as dd get's done with her fall term I'm going to get her to start on our downstairs.
Lovely pix TwoHobbies. . .not much fall color here. Next Sunday Dh and I will go for another hike. Maybe I'll see some color then.
Today was a total slug day. . church, then nap, then out on the boat to troll the lake for 30 minutes. I did manage to cook beef stew tonight but did not get much exercise. I guess one day off a week won't hurt.

I got in some work plus 20 miles on the bicycle today. Just an easy ride in the dim autumn light. Which took me to the shop for batteries for my rear tail light and also for my headlight. But wait, my headlight was totally corroded, so off to the bike shop for a new one plus of course I also needed a new tube to replace the one I used in my last flat.
I can see that I am due for a new helmet liner (I don't want to put my old one on my head, it's so ratty even if I wash it) and I could use new mirrors. Plus, I need to schedule a new cassette (the thing with 10 gears on it) and chain when my consulting funds come in. I think I spend as much on bicycle repair as on car repair. And I have one of the entry road bicycles!!!
Thanks for the tip on the smell-less oven cleaner, Ruth. Because I live in an over 55 community, they don't have self-clean ovens. So mine could use a bit of sprucing up. Nice to know that much easier than the old encrusted gas oven I had back in the day. Truly a disgusting job. One of the few things I miss about the house I left with my ex is the great stove and convection oven.
I think I am finally getting over the crud, but still not 100%.
Last night I finally used the Le Creuset pot that I got a few months ago. Worked just great for the Ragu Bolognese. The sauce itself was beyond delish, as used fresh tomatoes, shorthorn beef from Samish Bay Cheese (they raise shorthorn cattle, an ancient breed from County Durham), local bacon, wine, fresh local mushrooms, and a host of other yummy things. I think the best meat sauce I have ever eaten. Got fresh pasta from the market as well. Had with Nebbiolo wine, very good, but not as good as the bottle (different producer) that I had a couple of weeks ago.
Speaking of disgusting jobs, time for a spot of "mop and sculpt". - Claire
