How lovely Tessu!!!!  I skied on Saturday (about 10 miles of Nordic) and did a 5k run yesterday during a small interval of sunshine. However, I got caught in the hail on my way to the supermarket and back.

I can see that the days are getting brighter. - Claire

Yay for the Patriots and Eagles fans! Not so yay for everyone else. Oh well! I didn't really have a team to root for so I'm okay this morning. Hey, did you see that they put Crisco on the light poles outside of the stadium in Philly? That was interesting. I guess they didn't want anyone to climb up the poles.

I finally made it to 15,000 steps and got my Urban Boot badge. Did 40 minutes on the elliptical (level 2) in the morning. I was going to stop at 10,000 steps but we got a call that my DH's sister had gone into respiratory arrest (Stage IV lung cancer). She's currently on a ventilator. It's not looking good for her. Sad Anyway, I got another 4000 steps just walking around the hospital to get to her room. Then I finished the remaining 1000 at home by jogging in place.

I'm hoping today is a better day.

    Awesome pics Octogirl!

Ruth have a wonderful WARM vacation...love love AZ in the winter. We usually go for spring training, not sure if we will make it this year which has me so bummed!

    Beautiful pic Tessu!

Great job on all the workouts. I took a rest day yesterday. Have 3 mile run on schedule for today. My skin broke open pretty bad over weekend from rads, in the armpit area so not sure I am going to be able to run for a few days. Will talk to RO today. May just be some core strength and walking for a few days. Thinking running will rub skin under arm and aggravate it more. :( Have 5 boosts left and done with rads this week. So ready to have this part behind me!!

2Fun- I just looked at the calendar instead of making up time in my head. It's only 12 weeks until the race. I'd better get my butt in gear!

    Tessu- beautiful scenery!

Runnermum- sorry about the rads pain. I understand how you feel. I had a nice little pillow that some hospital volunteers made that I carried under my armpit. It was very helpful! Hope you get relief soon.

Thanks Falconer. I try not to complain, the only way to get thru this is go thru it. You know what I mean. I am just so ready to be done! Going with out a bra today and it is helping. Good thing I work out of my house.

HI everyone. I’ve pretty much have not been on social media for the past several months. I occasionally come here and read but have not been posting.

I had a wonderful trip to Israel to see my youngest daughter during my winter break. We had so much fun hanging out with each other.

Mom took a turn for the worse the first of the year and I came home on the 4th to start home hospice care for Mom. My wonderful husband took care of everything the two days before I got home. It was a very long and hard 2 weeks watch Mom slip away. She past away the early morning hours on January 18. I had the honor to be with Mom pretty much non stop the last four days of her life. My husband was with me when Mom passed away. As hard as it is, it’s a blessing that she isfinally at peace and in a better place.

I think of everyone often. Karen

My condolences on your mom's passing away, Karen. Glad to hear you were able to spend the last days with her. Your DH deserves a prize.

Runnermum, it'll soon be over. I tried to think of rads killing cancer cells to distract from the discomfort of third degree burns. Somehow it worked or it was rads killing nerve cells that did it.

    Tessu, winter wonderland!

Hoping it'll stop snowing as trains are not running to where we planned to go skiing. Too much snow. Zumba and weights yesterday.

Oh Karen, I am so sorry and saddened to read about the loss of your mother. My condolences to you and your family.

Runnermum, hope you continue to heal and find relief. HeidiHill, DH flew to Basel this afternoon for biz. Tessu, very lovely. Meow13, welcome! Falconer, like your enthusiasm in getting 2Fun to join you - so cool!

Pink Pilates this morning and BodyBalance tonight.

Anybody doing 1hr in morning then 1hr at night aerobic exercise? I don't seem to be able to do more than 1hr in a day. I did 28 laps today 3/4 mile. Pool was really busy today.

I might try adding the 8pm yoga class. The yoga class is pretty low key for older people.

Karen - so sorry for the loss of your mom. It's always so hard no matter how old they are or how long we've had them. My heart goes out to you.

Tampa - sorry to hear of your DH's sister-in-law and hope that she is comfortable.

I am such a slug today! We had a sewer issue this morning that didn't get resolved until this afternoon so I never got out for my walk. Then I was busy on the computer booking a Panama Canal cruise to celebrate our 35th anniversary in April. That will be a welcome 10 days! I just need that time to float around and watch The world go by.

Talked to my MO yesterday. He is taking me off the Fosomax and/or Boniva. I have had jaw surgery twice and he doesn't think it's a good idea to take either one. My dexa scan was great and he will monitor it. One less pill to take! Yippee!!

I moved logs, pots and concrete blocks around in my garden. Yesterday I moved lots of yard debris to the street. I am trying to get over being afraid to use my shoulder. I had to move the plant babies back out on the deck. Freeze Warning is over now. Florida is back open for your enjoyment.

Karen: So, so sorry about your dear beautiful mother. What a blessing that you were able to be with her. I have missed you here and hope you continue to post.

Badger: Holding you and your mother in my thoughts and prayers. Hoping the transition to AL goes well.

    tessu: Beautiful lake!

Octo: Love your Japan pictures. The food all looks delicious!

    Ruth: Have fun in Arizona!

    MexicoHeather: Lovely plants!

I'll be off of the exercise wagon for awhile as I was diagnosed with bronchitis today. Taking life very easy now. My friend who I mentioned awhile back is not doing well. She continues to think she's somewhere else other than the nursing home and can tell an entire story about what she is doing. She was taken off her meds for a couple to days to see if things cleared up but they didn't. I can't imagine what her mind is doing. Her sister has a meeting with the social worker tomorrow about what to do next.

Karen I am so sorry for your loss.

Falconer, I will think about the run. Is it possible to walk it, because if I have to run there is no way I can do it. I ruptured my achilles tendons about 5 years ago, and if I couldn't jog then, I cannot jog now.

I only got 5000 steps in today. I think I need to figure out how to exercise in the morning before I leave for work at 7am. I am too tired when I get home. It has been more than 6 months since my last of 4 surgeries last year. Will I ever get my strength up???

I almost think I am getting a bit depressed....not like horrible depression, but just getting frustrated and not wanting to say this is the new normal.I have too much I want to do in life, but just can't get the energy to do it. (Thanks for letting me vent !)

Im going to go do some core exercises and weights before bed.

I am typing on my phone, which doesn't let me make new paragraphs, so everything is going to run together......Runner, I went braless as much as possible during the home stretch of radiation and bought a small fan that I had trained on my boob whenever I sat or laid down. Meow, I would say an hour of aerobic exercise a day is enough of that! Adding yoga and/or some other light toning a couple days a week would be a perfect balance. Pretty plants, Heather. Wonderland, I hope I don't get what you have! Along with the UTI, I have a cough, semi-sore throat and feel kind of achy....all of which I hope I will bake out of me in Arizona! Between walking around the airport (our flight was slightly delayed) and taking a lovely walk after an enormous Mexican dinner, I managed to get 10,000 steps in. I am tired, tired and off to bed!

Love those palm trees, Ruth. Falconer and 2Fun, I will join you guys virtually, preferrably running but walking, if necessary. Lilac, hope it's better weather in Basel than here. Snickers, great news on the great dexa scan. Nice to hear that you are tossing the bisphosphonates.

Rest day yesterday. Will try to get on the dreadmill today and then go to salsa.

So sorry you lost your mom, Karen (((hugs)))

Braved the cold and attended the community college’s snowshoeing class in Puijo Forest this morning. Almost skipped because of the cold (-19C) but so glad I went. We tromped all over the woods and the frisbee golf course. Bonus: I got to see the ski tracks there, yes they look easy enough for me (poor upper body strength, so can’t go uphill anymore - yet. Yes my legs and arms can handle snowshoeing. Definitely something I want to continue! Best part: we got to borrow the snowshoes until next week :)

Karen - I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. It sounds like you spent lots of quality time with her prior to that. I'm sure that meant a lot to her. You're a wonderful daughter. She will always be in your heart.

I'm kind of new to this forum, so you don't know me. My name is Karen too. Hoping to see you around more often.

Snickersmom - Thanks! She appeared to be comfortable when I saw her on Sunday. She passed away last night. She had been in a nursing home for 10 years after suffering a stroke. She had limited mobility, and then they found out she had lung cancer. Just recently. She was very weak towards the end. We didn't expect her to get through it this time. She's the 4th of 7 siblings to die at such a young age. I worry so much about my husband.

Anyway, glad to hear that you have one less pill to take and that your dexa scan looks good.

Ruth & Wonderland - Hope you feel better soon.

As for the exercise, I was able to get a little over 10,000 steps. I also got 30 minutes of elliptical activity at level 2. I'm going to try to maintain that level as long as I can.

TAmpa/Karen - so sorry to hear about your DH's sister. When you say you worry about your husband, I know how you feel. My DH is the only one left of his parents, one sister, and two brothers. The only one who survived past 65 was his mother. His dad died from a massive heart attack at 50, and two brothers and sister of heart issues before 64. DH was told years ago that he was a walking time bomb but he has made it to 73, so maybe he's the odd duck of the family! Unfortunately, he's a couch potato other than golf a few times a week, and he hates to walk, etc. Getting him motivated has become quite an issue. He did just buy a bike and I told him since he bought it, he better use it! I don't want it to just become a garage ornament. We have just joined a gym so am hoping to get him there a few times a week.

We are off to Disney to meet up with our daughter and her family for a few days, so should be able to get in lots of steps!!

I am so sorry about your mom, Karen. Glad you were able to spend time with her.

Snickersmom, I have similar issues with my DH. He needs and wants to lose some weight (as do I), but hates to exercise or watch his diet, though fortunately is blessed with very good cholesterol ievels and keeps his BP under control. However, i do find that I can motivate him by telling him I need a walking partner, and he is working slowly at getting in shape with a bit of encouragement from me..

Tessu, I LOVE snowshoeing. Will be glad when the other knee is replaced (next surgery is 2/13) and healed and I can get back into it. I find it to be more of a challenge than walking. I do own showshoes. Might be a good investment given where you live.

I've been cleared to go back in the water post-knee replacement, and today's exercise will be swimming!!!! Can't wait!!!

    Hugs to all, Octogirl

Karen I am so sorry for your loss, but glad you were able to make it back and spend her final days with her.

BucsGirl I am also sorry to hear of your SILs passing.

Wonderland please take it easy and don't push yourself and so sorry that your friend is not recovering.

tessu goodness that is cold but glad you managed to get out and enjoy yourself.

Octo congrats on being able to get back into the water.

Ruth that is funny and yes she is our coffee girl. Badger hope you are keeping your head about water.

MexicoHeather they are beautiful plants and hard work moving them all about.

Last night was Cardio Dance Party, I almost talked myself out of going as it was cold - yeah yeah I know you scoff at 50 being cold but it is when you're used to 80s all the time and the leggins don't offer much warmth - thank goodness for heated seats!!!!

Hugs to everyone mourning, recovering, suffering from colds or being cold...

Finally have had a couple of days in the 60's so the ground has given up the snow...but like Cheryl very happy to have a seat heater!

Got to my long pose yin class last night and my vinyasa class at lunch today...if my schedule hold and we don't have snow will get in 4 classes this week, yeah!

Had bloodwork yesterday ahead of Dr next week...after 2 years on arimidex by TSH and AST are way high. Hopefully we can do something about that besides simply throwing another pill to the problem.

    Take care everyone, TT

Woohoo!

Ruthbru-my D's lives just next to Sun City. I know her weather has been great so enjoy your time there!!
