I did 25 minutes on the elliptical yesterday and was able to get out and walk three miles today with DH. I was so happy to be outside walking and this is a huge distance for me. I am sore tonight from it but it sure feels good. I have to say I am in awe of Karen1956. I had to read your post twice to make sure I read it correctly - 23,000+ steps per day? Oh my gosh, are you in a lot of pain after that much walking? It is wonderful to read your posts (and your walking distances) because they motivate me to get moving and I feel so much better when I do. Waling is my most favorite exercise. I love to walk, it just seems to reset my entire body and mindset.

The end of February weather has been crazy here. Three days in the 70's (crazy warm for us) and yesterday thunderstorms and a cold front came thru. Today it was in the 40's which is about normal for February. Supposed to get into the 70's again I think on Wednesday. If global warming weren't making it so much more pleasant in the winter, I think people would be against it a lot more.

Wogged 1 and a half miles on the dreadmill (love that term) and 4 miles on the stationary bike today. Looking forward to the Oscars tonight!

I also love seeing the pictures. Would love to go to San Antonio some time. We have been using our vacations to go see major league ball parks around the country. Maybe we can get to San Antonio on a side trip on one of those. In June will be seeing Seattle and a side trip to Portland and the Willamette Valley. Really looking forward to it.

Coffee...my normal average is 15-16K/day. I don't like the health clubs or exercise classes so if I don't walk, then I'm a couch potato!!! Last week was an exception walking wise. Being at the conference gave me extra walking in as just going from session to session could be a hike! It was like being on vacation. Tomorrow is back to the grind. I have a busy week work and home wise...Sure hope I don't forget where I 'm supposed to be when. I have a 7:30 meeting tomorrow morning and already worried I'll forget as its not a place I'm normally at on Monday mornings.

I am so impressed with Apple Care. My DD who is in Israel has been having phone problems and it pretty much stopped working. One of the heads of her school was coming to the states for the week-end so she gave him the phone and mailed it next day air to us from NJ. It arrived today and my daughter was able to get an appointment at the Apple Store for this afternoon. She called me just as the guy (Ziggy!!) came for the appt and talked to her on the phone. They gave her a new phone as the touch screen wasn't working properly and it didn't cost anything with the Apple Care plan. My worry was that the phone needed to be unlocked and because her old phone was, that is what they gave her. My cell service is with T-Moblle but they won't unlock a phone unless you've had it 40 days, made 3 payments on your plan and the phone is paid for. I was so worried but it all worked out. A friend is going back to Israel on Wednesday so he is going to take the phone for her. Either we have to trade in phones by mid April nor pay off the "lease". I will pay them off as no reason to get new phones now especially since she has a new phone.

Debating whether to turn the Oscars on...haven't watched them yet and to be honest I don't know most of the movies and I haven't been to a movie in forever. DH and I lead a pretty boring life!!

Well, I best get organized for tomorrow.

    Sweet dreams.

Ruth - jump in! Karen, thanks for posting the SA photo. Pat, crazy weather for sure. I want GS smore cookies - wahh! Good PR for Price Waterhouse or was it that Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway lack two brain cells to rub together between them to realize and not blurt out - try to hold back knowing a mistake had been made? Only human after all..don't put the blame..

Pink ribbon pilates this morning using the lesson plan created for my course final assessment - tested it out and they liked it. Blockfit this afternoon with John who can aerobic dance-nice, and Body Balance/Flow tonight in Folkestone. Shrove Tuesday tomorrow..anyone have any low calorie pancake recipes to share?

DH and Mikey are finally back to normal. DH started his physical therapy this week, and the therapist is already impressed with how much ROM he has, so that's a good sign. I'm a few days behind, so have been having fun catching up on everyone's posts.

Badger - you asked about suet feeders. I usually leave at least one up all summer as the woodpeckers love it, but I swap out the other suet feeders for hummingbird feeders.

Scottie - congrats on the great cholesterol levels, especially since you're fighting family history. I know you're a fellow panda lover, so you'll appreciate how devastated DC was when our beautiful Bao Bao panda was returned to China last week (she turns 4 this year, so she has to go back under our agreement with China). It was a big deal - the local news helicopters even followed the "Panda Express" truck that took her to the airport, and local news sites posted links tracking her plane. From all reports, she's transitioning well so far. But the locals miss her!

Love all the travels everyone is doing! Ruth - will you get to any spring training sites while in Florida? Sweet - New Zealand!!! Wow. Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back. Pat - I also strongly recommend the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. I'm not even a country music fan, but I loved it so much that I went back the next day for more! The fried dill pickles at the Wildhorse Saloon are interesting, as are the lifesize statues of the horses running on the ceiling. Karen - you look wonderful in your San Antonio picture - looks like a great place.

Felloco - good for you for doing what running you can. I'm not a fast runner at all, but I do love my little local 5K races.

Kay - DH and I have been visiting ballparks for years - it's gotten us to some great cities we might not ever have visited otherwise. We've been to ballgames in over 40 different current and past major league ballparks. My all time favorite ballpark is San Francisco. My all time least favorite is probably the old Seattle Kingdome - a horrible place to see a ballgame! I think your Phillies have some good young talent this year and may surprise a few folks.

This weekend I was at the grocery store, and some Girl Scouts were outside selling cookies. With all of the talk of the new smores cookies, I figured I'd pick some up on my way out. I just ran in for a few things, but by the time I came back out, THE GIRL SCOUTS HAD LEFT!! WAAAHHHHHHHHH!

Strength/flexibility class this morning. About to go soak my red beans so I can make red beans and rice to celebrate Mardi Gras tomorrow.

I managed to get in a 24 minute walk this evening. Its still light out so I have some time to get out after work!

    Ah, Ruth. Thats beautiful!

Kay whenever we have an unusual warm spell and talk of global warming I think of a Drew Carey skit. I am paraphrasing but he said sometimes he goes out and sprays aerosol cans outside, F@ck the grandkids. It's cold in Cleveland! LOL and I think yah its cold in Chicago too.

Walked the Capitol at lunchtime yesterday, logging 2.5 miles for the day.

DEXA scan shows mild reduction in bone density. Better step it up, three more years of anastrozole.

Thanks for all the Nashville tips. Looking forward to our little getaway.

Octogirl, such a gorgeous photo. Yosemite is on my bucket list.

Rode to the beach again yesterday, but much colder and windier than last week, so we got coffees at our beach break (inside) and then just sat outside for a few minutes. Not as sore as last week which is a good thing. It's about 8 miles to the beach, 7 of it on a bike path, which is good for me as I am not comfortable riding on the road. But the last mile to the beach is worth it!

Off to another concert tonight, this time blues guitarist Matt Andersen.

Beautiful pix! What a contrast between the beach and the mountains!

Internet router went kaput so I had to exchange it today (thanks, Comcast ) so I've spent the last hour re-setting it up and re-connecting all my devices to it.

Elliptical/bike/dreadmill run this morning. Working back from ankle tendonitis and gradually increasing my running time - 17 minutes this morning. I have a St. Pat's 5K coming up in a few weeks, so that's a good incentive. Your run sounds beautiful, Felloco!

Red beans and sausage recipe in slowcooker for dinner tonight, so the whole house smells wonderful. Happy Mardi Gras everyone!

Mary, what took you an hour would take me all day! :-)

Walked more today, logged 13,017 steps or 6.2 miles.

Stopped into my state Senator's office during my Capitol constitutional. Commented on a few items in the state budget bill and made a recommendation or two. Very cordial constituent contact - nice!

Cheryl: glad your s'mores are the chocolate covered ones. They're delicious!

Welcome to all the new people here! So happy you are joining us.

    All the pictures are breathtaking

    Badger: how cool is that!

Been under the weather with a sinus infection. Feeling better with meds the doctor prescribe. Walked/ran this afternoon and it felt great. I also wore my new exercise shoes for the first time and oh what a difference. The brand is Mizuno (I had never heard of the brand before) and I really like them!

Didn't get my evening walk as my gf called....but paced around the kitchen and family room while we talked so got my daily steps in. We talked well over an hour...she is going through a divorce after 31 years of marriage and just needs an ear to listen. She is a retired speech therapist so also talk school and our kids. I haven't seen her in forever. These days it seems so hard to get together with friends.....So much to do and so little time. I've been saying that I will retire permanently in 5 years after this school year, but now I'm thinking 4 years as DH is retiring in 3 1/2 years. Not making any plans as I can't plan that far in advance....don't plan very far out anymore, though I might have ideas in my head such as what i want to do in the summer.

Wonder, the S'Mores her are the sandwich kind and they are sold! I think my neighbor is going to find a box for me....I don't want them but my son said he hear

Great photos Ruth, I know how much you love your beach walking. Octogirl what a beautiful place to walk, spectacular scenery. Sweet I'll call my GF and see if she's got any Queenstown brochures, she is a South Pacific tour specialist if she does and I'll mail them to you. Wonderland I only have 4 cookies left, tonight I came across girls selling cookies outside the grocery store but unfortunately they didn't have any S'mores I had a $20 in my hand ready so I left disappointed, I need to find more they are my new favorites.

Tonight did Sprint, Body Flow express then onto BodyBarre and yesterday did Cardio Dance Party.

Karen, I do that pacing thing too while on the phone to get my steps in! But in reality for me it is so much better to get them in outside or on the treadmill at a good clip. But hey, it's movement!

Great concert last night but no exercise yesterday. Raining here today so probably won't get my walk in. But I did get up and do classical stretch this morning. Off now to deliver meals on wheels.
