Let's Post our Daily Exercise
Comments
-
last night I took an intro to TRX class. Good workout but hard. Can't plank to save my life.Followed it up with an express spin class. Feeling my abdominal and glute muscles tonight.
-
A good deal of the snow melted today, but there are still some slick spots. Both this morning and after dinner I took a flash light with me. Don't want any surprises. It should all be gone tomorrow as it's projected to be in the high 50's, low 60's.
Work sure interferes with my walking!!! I'm doing fine with my daily steps, but nowhere close to what I did when I was with my daughter!! Oh well, just a few more years!!
-
Last night did Cardio Dance Party and tonight was my trifecta Sprint followed by Body Flow Express then LM Barre.
-
Ruth, 10 days in Arizona sounds wonderful! Went to see Hidden Figures last night, excellent movie. Now I want to read the book.
Classical stretch this morning, and off to do my walk around the neighborhood in a bit.
-
We are in a warming trend right now. The high is in the 70s today so I got outside and read the paper, then did hours of yardwork. And was able to get my walk/run in also. Makes me want spring!
-
Here's the walking gals this morning. Did a yoga DVD tonight.
-
I saw Hidden Figures this weekend also, and loved it....then did a lot of walking around the mall. ...
-
hi all, just popping in to say hello. I'm counting down and will survive the last two days at work. Exit interviews were very good and I hope they are an impetus for change.
Have fun in AZ Ruth!
-
Wonderful www photo Ruth and safe journey to you and DH. Badger, hope you can relax on these final two days. Been busy in a cold house as we ran out of heating oil just before it arrived and the boiler man will come later to remove the air lock in the line. Anyhoo, just booked a room in London, for a 2 day Les Mills Aim 2 weekend next. Have a instructor friend who was a LM trainer and he is offering me tips on what to get ready on (4 tracks). Looking to upskill and improve. Meeting up with a few women in a bit to start planning our fundraising Wellbeing Day 2017 for Pink Ribbon Pilates. Going to avert my eyes away from the political impact tomorrow and looking forward to seeing the marching sea of knitted pink pussy hats. BB tonight and have a good day/evening everyone!
-
The usual classical stretch and neighborhood walk. A bit boring, will need to shake things up a bit. Starting to get a little looser with the stretching, which overall will be very good for me. My son is coming tomorrow for two weeks - yay! He is taking a class for work about 30 minutes from our house, it will be so strange to have him living at home again, hasn't since 2009. Strange in a good way!
Ruth, your Wednesday Walker group looks like so much fun - how did you find them? Wish there was something similar around here.
-
We are just a bunch of retired teachers (and friends of retired teachers). The year before I retired, four already retired friends decided to get together and walk every Wednesday morning (followed, of course, by breakfast), as a way to exercise, but more importantly to stay in touch. We have a private Facebook group, and on Tuesday the 'boss' will post where we will walk & eat. (There is a chain of command, so if Boss 1 is gone, Boss 2 makes the decision (I am number 4 on the boss list). Sometimes ladies will volunteer to host breakfast after we walk, but mostly we go to restaurants. It is totally flexible, you can respond to the post that you're coming, or busy, or not respond at all and just show up (but you might then run the risk of being left behind if we are walking outside). You can invite company to walk any week (come on up), you can invite other people to join. So, really any group of friends/acquaintances, workmates could do something similar.
Did a bunch of various toning exercises and will probably do more tonight. I know we will get enough walking in but the toning falls by the wayside when I'm on vacation.
-
Hi all, finally hit my BCo bookmark to see how everyone is doing. hbcheryl, hope you are feeling better. Sweet, so sorry about your friend.
I've just been busy with "life" and finally getting back into a routine, slowly, until something again pops up to derail me. For now it's pickleball, water volleyball will start again in 2 weeks, walking, Walk Away the Pounds classes. Need to dust off my bike as well. Instead of bone builders class will start up at the gym as well. Oh yes, temps back up so can swim too.
Keep up the great work friends so that I feel encouraged when I drop by and see all that you are doing.
-
I have everything done around the house and, since we leave for Arizona tomorrow, I SUPPOSE I should start packing . No electronics other than cellphones will be coming along, so I will be semi-offline. I will check in every once and awhile with what I imagine will be reports about walking lots and eating lots......the story of my life!
-
I hope you have fun, Ruth.
Enjoy your son, Pat.
I did a POUND class tonight. Such a great workout. Burning off frustration. The interviews with the candidate for education secretary are getting to me.
Thinking we will see Hidden Figures tomorrow after school. Blocking out all the festivities. Doing the Women's March on Saturday in Hartford.
-
Ruth: have a fabulous time!
Badger: thinking about you tomorrow.
LB: wish I could join you with your fundraising meeting.
Patoo: love reading all your activities!
Pat: have fun with your son!
Another pretty day. Sat outside in the sunshine and even fell asleep.
-
Have a wonderful trip Ruth. Pat enjoy the time with your son. Ginger still can't decide on whether to do the March in Orange County or go up to LA, will decide in the morning. Glad you were able to have your exit interview and tell them what they don't want to hear Badger. LB have a great weekend upskilling, those of us who participate really appreciate all that you do
Got up early this morning and went to Sprint (in the pouring rain no,less) and last night went to Body Step, as much as I like it I really feel uneasy on the Step these days always feeling like I am going to fall and that's not a good feeling
-
LB this is for you, I spent yesterday at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library so here I am at his desk, hopeful for the future....
-
Cheryl for President!
-
Cheryl that looks good to me! I would vote for you!
As far as our new world, I am just hoping itt wont be as bad as many fear. In the mean time, i signed up to be an advocate on healthcare legislation. I feel the need to weigh in on that one. Spent all week dealing with first of year insurance burearcracy.
i went to yoga class Wednesday and Thursday night. Today is break day and then tomottow I will resume.
-
Knowing Cheryl, I would vote for her in a heartbeat. For anything. Ruth for Ed. Secretary!
Well I worked my butt off but left this afternoon with a clear desk and a clear conscience. Several reader colleagues talked about a virtual book club. We all want to read Hidden Figures before seeing the movie, but the book is in demand and the movie is out now. I'm tempted to take in a matinee this weekend, along with some Shop & Sculpt at the mall.
-
Finally got over having the flu (Dh and I). Enjoyed dd's 21st birthday weekend in Myrtle Beach last week and finished up another really busy time at work. Yesterday we kicked back in our afternoon walks as the weather was pretty nice. 70s and rediculous for Jan., but still nice. So back to the dreadmill and trying to strengthen my lower back again. Also trying to work in some swimming.
Scottie
-
Cheryl: I would vote for you to be anything! I hear you about the step. One little trip can get you down on the floor. Be careful!
Badger: congratulations on your last day! I know you're so glad to be out of there and on to your next chapter.
Scotti: how horrible that both you and DH had the flu! Gladyou are feeling better and happy birthday to your DD.
Well the rain started today and we will have it for next several days. I did a little shopping and then walked in my house to get my steps in.
-
Wow such warm weather we are having - not to the level of Wonderlands or Scotties but 55 in Chicago in January is pretty unusual. So nice to get outside!!!!! Walked the dog with my son 20 minutes. Then I walked 52 at the lake. Next I went to Yoga for an hour and 15 minutes. Then late this afternoon my hubby wanted to walk so we walked another 32. Two aspirin, a nice shower and early to bed for me. Night all
-
Hi, we got to chilly Arizona in one piece. The friends we are visiting have joined a gym, so we tagged along today and got 10 day passes. A Zumba class was just starting as we arrived, so I was thrilled to sneak in and join the group.
-
Deb, if Cheryl becomes president, I will be glad to serve as the Secretary of Education....a job that I would at least be somewhat qualified for!
-
Scottie glad you are doing better both having the flu at the same time is not fun. Wonderland we are getting more rain too, pretty soon we're going to wash away, but I'm not complaining our drought is finally almost over. Ruth enjoy your vacation, were sending more rain your way!!
No formal exercise but did do the Orange County Womens March, what a wonderful experience such diversity in the crowd, they estimated 10,000 but 15,000 showed up my BFF from a Tennessee went to Washington she says it was amazing. -
I have my mid-year evaluation on Wednesday afternoon....need to spend tomorrow getting everything together....I also have to get the things my daughter wants her Dad to bring her when he goes next week....one being something from Sephora which means a trip to the mall...the mall is by Mom's apt so will try to combine the 2. This mall has started charging for parking....I park on the street when I go to Mom's so will do that...not about to pay to go shopping, though the 1st hour is free!!
I decided, kind of spur of the moment to go the NASP (nat'l school psych conference) annual conference in San Antonio in February.....Frontier is the only airline who flies direct...by the time I paid for my checked bag and seats it was another 80!!! Unbelievable....there is only 1 flight/day each direction and I don't think they fly every day, but they do on the days I need to travel. I wasn't going to spend the money (really not in the budget, but work will pay conference registration) but I think it will be good to get away....I know I'll be so far behind at work...but it is work related!!
Snow is in the forecast for Wednesday!! Otherwise mostly sunny and in the 30's most of the week.....Can't complain as its late January...where has the month gone!!!
Sweet dreams
-
Cheryl, what a beaming smile and optimist outlook in the face of darkness! Let's all meet up at Obama's Presidential Library someday and pose at his desk.
Taught body balance yesterday morning and afterwards had to drive DH to an appointment as he can't drive until tomorrow. On Friday, I spent the day with him at the hospital in outpatient as he had a cardiac catheterization procedure. Next Saturday he will have a consult to decide on either a heart bypass or 4 stents placed. His cardio is consulting with other surgeons to decide the best way to proceed. His beta blockers have been upped and he is not doing all that great -- the side effects have flattened him. I think DH needs to back down his beta blocker in order to get to work next week and get his affairs in order. Things are going to move quickly once a decision is made as we have private insurance. Back in the barrel with DH and his condition is hereditary. DH has never smoked, is slim - low BMI, low LDL levels, the results surprised the doctor too. His slightly younger brother kicked off these investigations as he had two heart attacks in December.
Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the march in London yesterday yet loved the photos from around the world! Absolutely fantastic and was glued to the live coverage NYT had up. Twitter was truly amazing seeing from the Antarctic, a friend in Cape Town sent me photos she took, Auckland, Sydney, Paris, London, Rome, all across the US and Canada, it was incredible!! . It's offical, #WomensMarchOnWashington was biggest inaugural protest in history.
-
Got at least one workout in last week. Otherwise I have been busy with doing lots of housework this week with surgery coming his week
-
Lilacblue, I'm sorry you have to hunker down again for the storm of medical procedures. Ugh. Two friends of my husband had quadruple bypasses 3 years ago and are doing well today. Wishing your DH the best outcome.
Karen, good luck on the evaluation!
Cheryl, love the pic! Did you coordinate the color of your dress with Melania?
Lots of tango steps and a 4K run yesterday even if I couldn't march with other women.
