I have a Macintosh and had problems with Photobucket. Sorry the farmer's market was slow, but good luck this week. Keep telling about your craft projects, I love to hear about them.
-
I will miss you posting your pictures too, you will have to paint us word pictures.
-
I have made maybe 10 or so prayer shawls. I saw here where someone made one want to know there pattern. Maybe theres is better than mine. God bless.
-
Ivorymom, am so glad you are posting here. To me when I make things for others I am the one being blessed. We have such a talented group on women here. God bless you for the work you are doing. the prayer shawls are such a blessing. I wonder if you can knit them? I'll have to google it.

A 13 year old boy at my church made me this hat and I just love it.
-
Spar yes you can knit them..I just looked on the site Ivorymom gave above......Can't wait to make one of the prayer shawls.......
Kbug I will snail mail copies of what I have for prayer shawls..........
Off to finish a few more booties!.........
-
Hollyann, I got your necklace finished just have to get an envelope to mail it. I am lazy about going to the store.
ivorymom, I will check out that shawlministry and probably give it a try. Mostly all I have knitted are hats, scarfs, and squares for the afghans. Yes, the young man that made my hat is a very special guy blessed with many talents. He made himself a Jesus hat, he makes movies and post on facebook and youtube. He sings, he makes all kinds of crafts. He has a lot of knowledge on the bible and ancient cities. He amazes me, I have never known a kid like him. I told him I would be sure and be at church Sunday because he made a shirt, got to see it. He was building a big wooden cross behind his house (he lives in the country) but he got a really bad case of poison ivy and had to stop. He also takes pictures and movies for weddings and funerals.
Hey JO, hope all is well with you. I like to give my stuff away too. It is fun.
kbugmom, would have loved to see some of your shawls I bet they were beautiful.
Good crafting.
-
this is the talented young man, he also made his shirt, he has another shirt he made I'll see Sunday

Hi Girls! Just popping in to say... YOU ARE ALL SO TALENTED! I went back through some of your pages... WOW... booties, necklaces, dolls, etc... it's all so beautiful! And isn't it FUN! I LOVE to make "things". I collect miniatures that I use on a product I've designed called a Trinketree. I have found that keeping my stuff in empty bottles is great! Here's how I've arranged them:

Here's my Trinketree (each is about 14" tall) - the presents around the bottom... I wrap each one using match boxes:

Happy crafting... I am going to read back through some more pages to see your talent!
-
Laura,I love the tree, have you tried to do wreaths as well?
-
Laura, what a good idea. Love the tree, they could be a memory tree too. That is just so cool. Today I added another craft, learning to play the piano again. Bought it after church and was finally delivered, set up, and tuned by 4:30. Keep on crafting. got a few things going on and will take pictures if I ever get finished also when I finish the pink scarf am going to try the prayer shawl.
-
Diana - Thanks! A wreath would take thousands of trinkets! lol Each trinket miniature is only about the size of a dime, nickel or quarter.
spar - Thanks! I look forward to seeing a photo of your scarf.
-
you could make a wreath out of vines and hot glue some of the trinkets around it that would be so cool. Somewhere on here is a wreath I made out of grapevines and other vines we found around here and used sea shells and glass am saving it for the front door when we get a porch built on the house. I keep picturing a wreath with the little china dishes on it. that would be cool for a kids room.
Keep on crafting.

Spar booties are almost done.........Can't wait to see the necklace!>......Spar as soon as I can get to the store I am going to make copies of my prayer shawl patterns for you.............My daughter is a memeber of the International Thespian Society.....She is into art and Drama and all that kind of stuff....I am going to try to download pics of her sculptures and paintings soon..........She is only 17......Soon to be 18 in 2 months YIKES!....
Laura love love love the trinketree!...I will save a bunch of mini items to mail to you.......I colect salt and pepper sets.....My late sister gave me about 30 sets before she passed....I would not give those away for the world.....
Edited to add...Checked my mailbox and goodness greacious!....What beautiful necklaces I found!...Thank you Spar!..........I will treasure them always!..In fact I wore them to put in a job app..Maybe I will have good luck now.......
-
spar - a wreath with shells and glass....that sounds great.
hollyann - Wow...Thanks! I have a cute salt and pepper set for you... PM me your address. Glad to "see" you here.
-
So glad you liked the necklaces hollyann. I would love to have the patterns for the prayer shawl and would be thrilled to see your daughters sculptures and paintings and only 17, my goodness. I hope you find a job soon. I need to start looking very soon. We do ok on retirement but not much extra to splurgh.
I would love to see a picture of your salt and pepper sets also. I have one that is cut glass that was my grandmothers, it looks like little squares of glass.
Laura, what about a small board, sanded, and paint some saying on it you like such as live, love, laugh and put a shiney coat of polyureathane over it and glue some of your trinkets around it and hang in on the wall for the hall or a bathroom or any small space.
Anyone have anymore good ideas I am always open for more. Yesterday I made 2 milk carton plastic bag holders will post a pic tomorrow. Goodnight all.
-
Tonight is the last night I will probably go to the Bluegrass Farmers market, next week is my trip and if I don't sell much more than I have already, I give up on that location. Although this week I did get some of the 'magic water crystals' (one bag will make about 100 coolers) and made a few of the neck coolers to try and sell. I am going to have one soaked and wear it and have cold water and zip lock bags available to soak others if they sell since they only take a few minutes to soak up the water. I don't want to have them all swelled up and none of them sell.
I am the Military care box coordinator at my church and I want to make some neck coolers for the care boxes I send to the troops I have addresses for. But I need to get the appropriate colors for them. Thanks Nancy for the idea, our minister's wife brought one to the meeting last week with her instructions and wanted to see if we could include them in the boxes.

wow, you girls are sooo talented. Laura, I love the trinket tree. What a cute idea!!
I must start finding time to do my crafts. I have a room full of things to do but no time.!
edited for mispelling
-
spar - That is a FANTASTIC idea... I would take it a step further and frame the finished board... no glass... just a really ornate frame. Thanks - but geesh... like I need another project! lol But this one is definately going on my project wish list. I'm looking forward to seeing a photo of the plastic bag holders.
candie - THANKS!
Sheila - I am so curios about your neck coolers! Can you post a photo - or if you already have, can you tell me what page it's on? From what you wrote, I'm thinking it's something you simply put on your neck to cool off? If so - I would love to order a couple of them. Please let me know.
hollyann - Good luck with the job search!
-
Laura, I can't post pictures but if you do a search of neck coolers you will find sites that have pictures of them. It is like a rolled up bandana filled with magic crystals in part of the roll that swells when soaked with water and when you have it tied on your neck, the water evaporates creating a cooling effect. They will slowly decrease in size but still give the cooling effect for several days. Then when they are back to the original size, you just resoak the scarf and it will swell up again. I wore one yesterday when I was trimming some bushes that have gotten out of hand and it did keep me more comfortable in the hot/humid afternoon. My husband bought some when he was working in the factory and temps got over 100 and they helped him stay cooler. I have even heard that you can take the swelled bandana and heat it in the microwave for a hot pack (be careful for burns doing this).

Sheila - OM - that is so cool! (get it? lol) Thanks for the info. I would like to purchase some. One for me, one for my mom and one for one of my gal pals. I will send you a check and then you can send them to me. Whatever colors you choose is fine with me. Thanks!
-
Sheila, if you make them for the military, they strongly suggest camoflague colors or beige dull dark green or brown. Bland so they cannot be seen by "others".... I tried to get a discount on camo fabric, but the manager said no.
They can be resoaked at the end of the day and put in the fridge in a plastic shopping bag then they are REALLY cool when you put them on. Also wonderful for Hot Flashes. Tie around your forehead and helps keep the sweat from running in your eyes.
Do not leave in the fridge for more than a couple of days or they can mold. If you leave them out for several days, they will shrink back down to almost nothing. If I am out on a really hot day, I refresh mine with water from a water fountain and off into the heat I go again. Sorry but I can't post pictures.

lovely Lisa. I also watched the one you did for your father...very moving (as my dad also died recently ad was/is my hero). He looked like a really great guy, a good sport, my guess is that everything was ok when Dad was there, ready to give a hug and make everything better (just like my dad).
So glad you won the contest, it will be nice to have new pictures of the family! I was quite taken by the woman who dropped out and gave you her points; goes to show there are really good people out there! Hope you have a nice holiday...can't wait to see all the new craft ideas
