I logged on to order my t-shirt and was very shocked to find that I would have to pay $27.00 for shipping!!!  In total with exchange a t-shirt will cost $47.00!  Yikes!!  Good thing it is 1/2 price!!! LOL

Oh, I will also say that I normally wear Med but order Large just to be safe.  Glad I did.  These shirts fit like Junior sizes.  Just FYI.

    Yvonne

that does not sound right....did you order more than one t-shirt.....

I am getting one Vegas tata shirt and it is 1/2 off also I got the extra 10%off  so that made the shirt just $12.58  but boy, they really get you on the shipping, a whopping $9.28...they could have used the USPS for one t-shirt and the cost would have been half that......so my total is $21.86

glad they were 1/2 off because I am not a t-shirt kind of person so I will be wearing it only to Vegas and I would not have spent a bunch of money for a t-shirt.....

Laura, the cheapest airfare I have found so far for me is $368 round trip.....I will check again in July......can anyone give us any pointers in saving money....I am not a flyer and don't know all the tricks......

    Journey

I ordered a medium (usually wear small) and glad I did......If it FITS then I will not wash it before Vegas...I would not want it to shrink to where it would be tooo tight......OMG that is why they are on the smallish side, to show off our TATA's......

OH GREAT Journey...ugh I ordered smaller than I usually wear!  I'm working my butt off trying to lose weight...urgh hopefully with my hard work and my tummy tuck in a few weeks I will be able to fit into the shirts!!!

Yvonne!!! My shipping was $8.92...then $2 off with the promo code...There has got to be something wrong unless you ordered a sweatshirt or something heavy to add to the shipping.

I fly a lot and I check airfare all the time...I'm kinda obsessed with it....I like to dream.  :-)  You can download "Ding" on the southwest site.  They run specials almost daily and it will be on your taskbar and make a ding sound to let you know there is a special.  Also lastminute.com has a lot of good deals.  Usually when you book air and hotel together it's cheaper through them.  Alaska Air has also been running a real good fare, but I know not all of you have alaska air.

Anyway those are my pointers..oh also the fare changes all of the time you just have to keep checking and then buy the min it goes down.

Heya Ladies--I wanted to post this on a couple of forums...

I wanted to mention to everyone to go to Lifetime.com and sign the petition about legislation pending about mastectomy and hospital stays.  They are trying to pass a bill making a mastectomy an outpatient procedure.  That seems crazy to me.  I had a lumpectomy, so I can see that being outpatient, but with ports and LE issues, this bill seems ridiclulous to me.  I believe the petition is to require a mandatory 2 day hosptital stay covered by health insurance.

Pass the word around on this one!

In Canada Masts are outpatient procedure. As far as I am concerned the sooner you are out of the hospital the better. Less chance of picking up other viruses.  Mind you we were provided with daily nursing care at home until the drains were out.

You couldn't have gotten me to stay the night at gunpoint after my mastectomy and TE's.  Should be there for those that need it, but truthfully I think a lot of other things related to mastectomy deserve more publicity, like how most companies pay for 2 bras and a prosthesis once a year if you're lucky--and limit where you can get them.  Everyone focuses on the night of mastectomy because the newness of the diagnosis and idea of the mastectomy are so  traumatic, but I've talked to a lot of women who like me preferred to go home.  I worry more about coverage for the years and years after the event, OT/PT/lymphedema/bras/prosthesis/goves and sleeves/psych support for those who need it.  I think the afterwards gets short shrift.

I got 2 nights in Canada due to other health issues that had to be watched (heart, etc) but my home nurse only came every other day....it was enough though.

I think it depends on the time of day of your surgery.  In my case I was scheduled for mid morning but it was delayed until about 2 PM.  By the time I got to recovery it was around 4 PM so I ended up spending the night. My hubby just about dragged me out of bed the next morning and had me discharged by 10 AM.  His first wife died of brain cancer and spent months in hospitals. He was deathly afraid of me staying one second more in the hospital than absolutely necessary.  Now, I would have loved to have had a home nurse to help with drains, bandages at some point during those first 48 hours!

well I ended up needing to stay 2 night

and the thought of having a nurse in my house helping me for the long 4 weeks and 1 day I had my drain made me laugh

    everyone is different

I feel they should have it say 2 days but I'm sure they will let us come home sooner if we ask but it's harder to get them top  let us stay longer if we ask.

    All,

Got my Viva Las Tatas T-Shirts today and have to agree with everyone else, they definitely run on the small side.  I ordered a large and it is probably what one would normally think of as a medium.  I guess luckily for me, my "ta-tas" are getting a reduction prior to the trip so they should fit the t-shirt nicely.  If I wore it with the current ta-tas, I might possibly be mistaken for someone on the strip with a different method of employment than what I currently have!  Smile

Got my shirts today - thought I ordered Viva and got Fabulous Ta Tas...   same glitzy lettering, but oh well.... Also got a Save the Ta Tas one.   The 1X is what I ordered because I like loose fitting and they are on the small side.  Ok for me, and glad I did order larger than I usually wear.

Also pathology is B 9 from the stereo biopsy.   Repeat mammo in  6 months and all looks good.   Herceptin ends in September, so I will have that to celebrate when we meet.

A southern girl joke that I hope translates on the web...

A southern girl was invited to her nothern girl friend's home for a fancy dinner.

At the table she turned to the guest on her right and said with a nice smile, "So, where y'all from?"

The guest sniffed coldly with a haughty northern tone, "Where I am from we do not end our sentences with a preposition."

"Oh", said the southern girl,  "then where y'all from, bitch?"
