Thank you Yvonne!  Yeah I know this is the 2nd time for celulitis.  The only thing now is that my breast is getting firmer and it's quite uncomfortable.  The doc told me it's because of fluid buildup and he had suspected this would happen.  I told him it's big and hard...he just laughed...of course I didn't realize what I had actually said until I hung up...HAHA...blushblush.  But I'm excited about getting bigger foobs!  I wasn't happy with what I had, so he tells me there will be plenty of volume with the lat flap.  :-)

Do you have a date yet Yvonne???

Thanx Yvonne!!  I didn't know there were so many threads & found the one Jazzy mentioned on exchange-I didn't read all 113 pages(not yet),but sound's like you've been waiting & I hope & pray everything works out for you very soon. I also have to let you know You look alot like a wonderful friend of mine whose name happens to be Yvonne also!!!  It's great to know were all there cheering for each other no matter what get's thrown in our paths. Summer is going to be filled with us all getting to know each other better than we already do & count down till VEGAS!!

Now that my head is clearing and energy returning, the idea of going to Vegas with my 1 year old seems more possible... I do have friends in Vegas, I could ask them to watch the kid... but not sure I trust them.. they are men after all...

And posting that Elvis clip... tantalizing... Oh baby I love Elvis...

Jazzy- GO TO BED.  If anyone sees Jazzy online today and tonight, please tell her to go to bed.  Her surgery is tomorrow and sitting up at the computer is NOT good for her, plus after surgery she will have trouble lying on her back or her front so this is her last day to get a good rest.  She, of course, has too much to do.  I will spare you details (although probably everyone here knows them better than me).  Jazzy, go frikin lie down.  You are lucky I don't have your address because I would come there and sit on you.  Yesss... I am a combination bitch and Jewish mother.  Deal with it.

Here's one of the interviews where Melissa Etheridge talks about her breast cancer and that performance 

I think she said she had just stopped the Taxol, is that the one where you lose the feeling in your extremities?  She did everything but when she started to lose the feeling in her hands, she asked if she could stop because that's her career.  As an aside, I saw her play at the Concert for New York City - just days after 9/11- and her voice mike went out and she just freakin WAILED on that guitar an incredible solo until her mike came back.  And she was just finishing up or just finished chemo when they called her and asked if she'd sing that song for Janis.... and of course, when she gets to the parts "every time I thought I'd had enough ...I'm gonna show you that a woman can be tough... hold me in your arms, I am singing once again" 

I remember watching this- I dont watch the grammies but I had heard about this performance and looked it up- in 2005, long before I ever thought about breast cancer or thought I even knew anyone with any form of cancer and was completely blown away by her performance, and how far more exciting and sexy and beautiful Melissa was just standing in one spot in jeans and a jacket with her bald head, twice the age of Joss Stone wandering all around the stage with her plunging neckline evening gown and long tresses.  More than that, Melissa is broadly generous with this young kid, when she could easily have blown her off the stage.

Catherine, I am workin on it... when I see SuzyZee is gonna make it I figure I gotta try... and besides... I'll kick myself for ages if I miss it.  As much as I love my non-cancer friends, let's face it, I can't talk to them like I can talk to youse guys.

Rachel--that video as awesome, but the interview...wow.  And I'm in such complete agreement about her performance.  She did radiate, and there was nothing Joss Stone could do to compare to that.

And the best part of the interview was that she is cancer-free.  That's what I like most about hearing about people who have survived cancer.

Yeah, Melissa Etheridge...one cool lady.

My AIM caught Jazzy online at about 830EST, but I missed her.  She's probably hiding from me- smart move!  Jazzy, get horizontal and stay that way until morning!

Melissa is just as cancer free in that interview as you are, actually I think she said she was still doing RADS so you are more cancer free in this moment that she was at that moment, plus she had to quit her chemo early.  But can you play the guitar and sing?

I'll bet you are radiant.

Suzie - It is kind of crazy that you know another Yvonne that looks like me!! What the heck are the chances of that!!! Thanks so much for your kind words. You just made my day!

Did anyone watch Oprah today?  I'm not sure if it was a re-run but Christina Applegate and Susan Komen's sister were on today.  What a tear jerker!  And you know Christina was sharing feelings and having the same thoughts that we share with each other.  I know that she is just a person the same as we are but when you hear your thoughts and feelings being spoken for the whole nation to hear it is really a touching thing.  More than 1/3 of the audience were survivors and there wasn't a dry eye in the place.  My DH and I were just sobbing.  Christina told her story and it matched mine in so many ways.  I still am so surprised when I hear that so many women feel the same things as I do and just to hear them verbalized seems to make it so much better!!

I wouldn't have picked BC for anything in the world but I've met so many wonderful friends here and I truly can't wait to meet you all in person!!!

Yvonne, I thought I had busted Jazzy again just now because I saw her sign on- and I started sending messages GO TO BED GO TO BED GO TO BED... and then came a response... from her mother!!!! Thank heavens I wasn't cursing and stuff.  So I was the one who got busted.

Her mom didn't say if Jazzy was resting though... hmmmm.

Yes, it seems almost like being an incredible woman is a risk factor or something.  My favorite Breast Cancer book, Five Lessons I Didn't Learn from Breast Cancer, she says something like how all her wonderful friends she met because of breast cancer agreed that if they had the choice, they'd give up meeting these great friends if they didn't have to have breast cancer... but as long as I have to have breast cancer, I feel blessed beyond expression to have met you women.

I can not imagine how bad it would be going through this without you.

I didn't find this site until 2 months after my mx and I don't really know how I survived.  I had lots of wonderful support but always felt that I needed to put on a brave front and let them know that this wasn't a really big deal...I keep all my true feelings to myself or shared with my DH until I realized that I was tearing out his heart everyday.  Once I found you girls I finally could say what was really on my mind and in my heart and didn't feel like I had to temper it.

Isn't that weird?   I remember when it was only days or only weeks from Dx that I kept saying .. wel that it had only been a couple days or weeks from when I didn't have to know anything about cancer- like that book says, one day we wake up on the wrong side of Healthyville, living in Cancertown, and we keep trying to get back home again.  But somewhere I didn't note the day or event, I lost the aversion to just SAYING this stuff, like I learned a new language.  Now when I am walking down the street from the cancer center with a friend who is doing RADS and Chemo at the same time on some kind of clinical trial and her petroleum bandage comes loose, I think nothing of lifting up her shirt and telling her she's got the bandage wrong, how to do it right etc.  I have also learned how to stick my foot in the door and shove my way in to help a friend over their objections.  I can't think of when I have laughed deeper- than when we're making fun of horrible stuff happening to us.  I guess that is a lot like soldiers and first responders.

Not that I needed "permission" to attend, but when my surgeon, AFTER telling me the biopsy showed benign, she told me I should take a vacation and have some fun.  I told her about Pinkstock (another thread) and this reunion and she said she wished she could write a Rx for them.   Nice to have that kind of feed back.
