Vivvy - you DO need to take care of yourself. The chores you mentioned I wouldn't even done on a good day before cancer! No problem is small if it is looming in front of you. I can't figure out why some days I want to cheer everyone up and be positive and the next I want to put a gun to my head. I am way past menopause so its not mood swings. I guess its just normal craziness! Hang in there, take a deep breath and let someone else do it. Hugs.
-
Kathleen- I love Maxine too!
Faithie- Do you EVER stay home??
Be safe in your travels and I hope you and Arnie get to meet up!
Arnie- Great to see you posting again!! I think of you and your daughter daily and say a prayer for both of you. Healing hugs!! Hang in there girl. It's almost done!!
Jayne- I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. I hope it makes it a little easier for you just knowing that we are all holding you in our thoughts.
Sharon, Shiny, Lucy, Kathi and Viv...and all the other bunnies- Big hugs to you!!
-
It's good to "see" everyone checking in -- after the big weekend.
I have given Arnie my cell phone number & I have hers. It doesn't sound like I'm headed right to her, but maybe, kinda sorta close.
We may have to have our rendez-vous next MI trip. We shall see. LOL.
This trip. Then one more in OH...... and of course local schools, but not toooo many more road trips for this final month of the year.
xx00xx00xx00xx
HUGS & prayers to each & all.

Hi my friends!......Well I got a B12 shot on Tuesday and feel much better.......The first day and the next I had terrible diarrhea though.....Anyone else experience this?......Funny enough though, the burning in my feet went completely away and I haven't worn my "boot" on my right foor since Wednesday!......I have had no pain at all inmy feet even after standing for 8 houirs!.....Thank You, God!.......
Arnie, so glad you are okay....Sorry DD is still having trouble getting around....I will try to call you tomorrow as it is too late tonight.....
Sleep well, all...... -
Oh Arnie, it's good to get an update on your DD but I do wish it was better news! And I can't believe you are almost done rads! Maybe it didn't seem to go fast for you though....
I think the docs don't admit that what they are doing with the rads cause fatigue because then they either feel like they're "playing into the whining" or they feel guilty! I had a doc not tell me for 9 years that I had Fibromyalgia. He didn't want me to "live it". I told him that for years I thought I was going out of my mind! Idiots!
Good to hear from everyone else....
-
Jayne try to do deep breathing exercises that was how I handled rads.((((hugs)))
Arnie glad you are back sending healing vibes for your DD
Barbe how did your scans go?
-
Just popping in because I notice that Wed. is our MaryTexasRose's birthday.
I may still be on the road about then.
I don't think there's anything wrong with declaring the whole week a housework free zone.......
Let's get the party started, so that it will be in full swing on Wed!!
-
Mary - Have a happy birthday - and do as you please
-
How lovely to see everyone! So sorry for all the aches, pains, sad feeling, recoveries not going as quickly as liked... but so great to hear from y'all.
Arnie - hope things are better w the armidex - I will live vicariously thru you, since I am still on the Femara and dare not change to another just yet. As you feel better - do a couple cartwheels for me ok?
Shiny - wow, flu, no dh and no internet
. Sure hoping you are feeling better.. you are really amazing.
Vivy - its been 3 years and I am still trying to learn my limits and stick to them
!! Please take care of yourself!!! As someone once told me "treat yourself as you would a good friend, be kind and gentle with yourself"
Jayne - gentle hugs, thinking of you.
Hugs to everyone, off for Lupron and bloodwork.
-
lol EWB...not there yet...(cartwheels that is) but will let you know
(((((((mum)))))))) it's so hard when there's things that need to be done...you do them and then pay for them...
Kathleen...dd is keeping her spirits up, but it is depressing to see her walk. The kids want their mommy back...to normal. Trent's looking forward to Christmas and his list is pretty long...lol Lilah just likes all the lights, etc.
((((((((((Jayne)))))))))))) how'd it go today...thinking about you...
Texas...how ya doin'? Thank you for the prayers...they're much needed
Barbe...lol... I'd love to say to one of them..."Have you gone through 5 surgeries, numerous procedures, chemo and rads for 11 months straight??!!!" But I don't. We know our bodies and we know that rads cause fatigue!
Faith...enjoyed talking to you this morning and hope your at your destination safe and sound! Let us know...
Coonie and Sharon, Hollyann, Vivy, and all you other dustbunnies I didn't mention, thank you for being here! I don't know what I'd do without your support.
xoxoxo

Arnie, 10 more?
Doesn't sound like you and Faith were able to meet up.
Hopefully next time!
Gentle hugs to all the Dusty Buns.

Hello Dust Bunnies. Thank you so much for all your kind words and advice regarding my rads treatment.
Arnie my treatments are at 11:50 am. This is good for me because I have to travel to another hospital further away, so it means I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn and I avoid the rush hour traffic both ways. All the docs I have discussed rads with have mentioned the fatigue, not sure why yours doesn't believe in it. Still thinking of you and your DD and sending healing vibes.
My first session went OK, a bit scary but I got through it. 1 down, 14 to go! I will have Thursday and Friday off this week, as the machine they use for me will be out of action. This means that I will finish on 22nd December, so I'll still be finished by Christmas. Kathleen I love the idea that soon I'll be talking about rads in the past tense.
Mumayan it's funny you mention deep breathing exercises, while I was lying on the table trying not to move I noticed that I seemed to have forgotten to keep breathing. After that I concentrated on breathing in and out and it calmed me down.
Mary it definitely helps to know that my dust bunny friends are thinking about me. Just thinking about all of you wonderful bunnies cheers me up.
Viv I hope you can find a way to ease off on the chores a bit. I like Elaine's suggestion of treating yourself as you would a good friend.
Lucy that B12 sounds like good stuff. I hope your feet continue to be pain free.
Barbe whatever was your doc thinking, not telling you for 9 years that you have Fibromyalgia. You were living with it for goodness sake. Hope all is well with you.
Hugs to all.
-
Hey Jayne. So glad you survived the first one. It's likely the scariest! What kind of worked for me was as soon as I heard the door 'click' shut that was my cue to shut my eyes and simply breath. I swore my last rads I'd open my eyes but didn't have the courage. I never saw the machine over, under, around me, wherever the heck it went. Even once when the fire alarm went off and I'm sure I raised inches off the table..............my eyes remained shut.

I've made it safe & sound to my MI destination. Stopped for lunch with a MI BCO friend, who goes by the name "neesie" tho I don't think she's ever visited this thread.
Arnie & I just can't get the logistics together for this trip -- as I'm quite a bit west of where she lives. We plan to plan further ahead next time, when she'll be done with rads etc etc. We had a great visit on the phone -- which passed a big chunk of my drive.
Thanks to all who have continued to send prayers, love & encouragement to Saint. She posted today -- under her own steam.... she went to church yesterday, for goodness sake.
The woman is amazing!
Now I must go and get my act together for tomorrow. LOL.
Something different yet again, as these are ALL kindergarten teachers. I give the keynote to launch the day & then have 4 different workshops, each 75 minutes in length. Did I mention, it's a big day. LOL.
I'm so filled with joy to read Saint's post!!
Mary, it's almost your happy day.
Love love love love love to each and all...... especially those of you who are geographically so far from the rest of us: Vivvy, Shiny, Jayne, Barbe, Mum and Sharon. (My, we are quite international).....
just seeing neesie today & getting her hug charges my battery for a bit more.
-
Faith, have fun tomorrow!.......Give Neesie a hugs form all of us!.....
Sorry ladies but I had to do housework today......It was pretty nasty here.....I promise to do better tomorrow and not do ANY hosework!..LOL....
As the Girl Scouts say...
On my honor I will try..
To serve God and my country and to live by the Girl Scout law!....LOL Oh I meant live by the Housework Support Law!......
Love you all...ARNIE I am SOOOOO happy to see you post.....Hope DD is doing better today...... -
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY!!

Arnie - yea. As you said one down and 14 to go!

-

-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!! Have a blessed day Mary Rose!

There was a woman with pancreatic cancer who had radiation at the same time I did. We sort of bonded in that way you do when you spend over a month waiting with someone at the same time every day. When she finished her last rads, I brought her a single yellow rose...she did the same for me when I finished mine. We didn't finish at exactly the same time, so she had mine delivered. Anyway, we have become facebook "friends" and keep up with each other. She's doing well...scans are good...I had my mastectomy last Monday and on Wednesday my local florist brought a vase of flowers from her. It's amazing what draws us together and how we can bond with someone through all of this, isn't it?
-
I broke down and cleaned, scrubbed my bathroom/shower stall. The pink mold was getting out of control. Everything in this apartment is white, - - counter tops, floor and wall tile, walls, fixtures, fridge, stove, vanity. Nice when it is clean, but a pita to keep that way. Someone should make an inside power washer for bathrooms...
I have to make some kind of dish to take for a potluck dinner on Wednesday. There should be 40 or more people there, but we only have to bring something for 6-8 servings. Then next Wednesday another potluck, but lunch. This will be more cooking than I usually do in a month...!!!
-
Jane....what a neat story...I've made friends during this process too.
Kathleen...sweetie I think you have me mixed up with Jayne...I have 9 to go and when done will have had a total of 33. Dec 9th...I'm done...YEAH!!!
Hope you're having a blessed day Mary Rose...
(((((((((((((((((Hugs to all dustbunnies))))))))))))))))
-
Nancy, I got a giggle out of your power washer idea for bathrooms. I think you might be on to something. LOLOL.
Arnie.......oh gosh, you are on the home stretch!
Love the rose story........and appropriate on Mary(rose)'s birthday.
-
A very happy birthday to you Mary! Hope it is a lovely, peaceful resting kind of a day
-
Happy Birthday Mary Rose Hope you have a fantastic day.
