Nancy, a sweatshirt could be arranged....
Barbe, I think your DH is very very lucky that you are basically a good & moral person & not a homicidal maniac, because if you'd picked up that knife & used it, it would have been ruled justifiable homicide, IMHO.
Hey, all you bunnies, I'm very thankful for all of us being here for each other through the last year. Mom, wherever you are & whatever you are doing, thank you for launching this thread. Coonie, honey, we miss you! I'm gonna have to send your computer a get well card! I'm loving that Saint is still here. We're all still here & laughing, so take THAT, Cancer!
Nancy, I'm with you on Black Friday. The LAST thing I would do on Friday is go Christmas shopping! I'll be sleeping late & enjoying it, not getting up at 3AM to get to Walmart!!! Horrors!
-
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!! I am so grateful for the kindness and love I see here everyday.
I don't do Black Friday either. Yuck! I have zero desire to get up in the middle of the freaking night and go shopping on that day or any other!! But for those of you who do....good luck and good bargains!
I will be spending Friday afternoon getting my second Zometa infusion for the clinical trial. I'm curious to see my labs 7 weeks PFC.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving to those who are celebrating. Those who aren't- have a wonderful Thursday!!
-
Wishing you all a very happy Thanksgiving! I am truly thankful for all my dust bunny friends. Yes I know I'm a Brit and we don't do Thanksgiving, but I think we should start.
Barbe I would have been pissed too. Lucky for your DH that you went to bed instead of picking up a knife and using it.
Mary good luck with the Zometa infusion and the labs.
Today I am going for my rads simulation, at least I know which hospital to go to this time, so I shouldn't get lost.
Hugs to all.
-
Anyone seen Arnie?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
-
Happpy Thanksgiving everyone!......May you all have a blessed day....
Mom, miss you terribly.....Thank you for starting such a wonderful thread.....
Arnie and Coonie, hope you both come soon.....Arnie I will try to call you later today........ -
Wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving (or a happy quiet Thursday)! Warm, heartfelt hugs all around.
-
Happy Thanksgiving to all my American Sistahs.
-
I think I read on another thread that Arnie is having computer probs. She posted from her DDs computer.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you ladies I am so thankful for.
-
Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American sistas.
-
Mary and Jayne - good luck today with your treatments.
Coonie and Arnie - hope your Thanksgiving was great and that computer problems get fixed soon. I really miss you both.
My sister and I went to Walmart last night after dinner - about 8:30 p.m. No crazies, few people and no lines. She picked two names off the "Angel Tree" sponsored by the Salvation Army so she needed to buy gifts for them and we needed cat food for His Highness. We thought last night would be far better than Saturday morning when she would next be off. We were right!
We had a quiet dinner at a restaurant - my Mom's brother and sister, her brother's wife and miracles of miracles my sister (who joined us but was still on call to the hospital).
I'm staying in the house today but I most definitely am not doing any housework!
Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was great! I, too, am so very grateful for each of you.
-
Chiming in with gratitude for our "mom" who created this thread and brought us all together.... and the fact that our family here has nothing to do with housework, and everything to do with caring.
We had a glorious low-key day yesterday. Scrumptious meal.
We will have the big hoopla on Saturday, with turkey & fixin's for all.
I did actually bake the pumpkin pies -- my one last domestic assignment. LOL. They are the holiday fave for my newly married daughter. We had to have pie for her safe arrival 'home.'
Bountiful blessings to all my bunnies.
-
Good morning all my sisters!.....Glad to see you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.....I for one was extremely thankful I had the day off.....I work for Kroger and we only close on Christmas Day!...I had not had Thanksgiving Day off in 14 years!.....I thoroughly enjoyed myself cooking our Thanksgiving Feast!.....
I had a wonderful dream lasty night...I dreamt we all got together in a beautiful cabin in the woods and had a glorious time communing.......The weather was wonderful with beautiful blue skies and chirping birds....And we had a bonfire going too.....And lo and behold!...There were Saint and Faith together with their DH's popping their heads out of their campers and smiling so sweetly.......It was such a grand time I was so loathed to wake up from it!....If only we could do this in real life!.......... -
Lucy, sometimes we can make our dreams come true!!

Hi everyone!
I have had no internet since Monday! My that was odd! DH was away all week, so we tryed to sort it "remotely" but in the end it had to wait until he came home. A whole 5 days without internet is odd. So I sent vibes, prayed but did not do any "threading" or "emailing", even my cell phone text facility was on the blink!? Had 3 days of full on flue, with no childcare help, thank God the kids go to school!
I sure hope you all have had a sweet blessed Thanks Giving celebration. Ahhh the food. Gosh, makes me think, any sublime recepy websites to recommend to me for hearty warm family winter meals, or simple but yummy baking. Am very keen to get new ideas!! Let me know your favorite web based recipy site or link if you have a mo? Thank you loveys!!
Thinking of you,all, as ever.

Shiny, I depend on http://www.foodnetwork.com. There is a search feature, and you type in a term like "casserole" and get recipies for 359 different casseroles, many with pictures and ratings. This is the website for an entire television network that has food all the time. They have recipies from celebrity chefs, and things that are more basic as well.
-
Shiny I like http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/ because you can type in up to 3 ingredients you have available and get lots of recipe suggestions using those ingredients. You can also specify if you want quick recipes or vegetarian. There is a section on seasonal food with links to recipes. Plus you can search for recipes from a particular TV program or celebrity chef. It sounds similar to the site suggested by PatMom above.
-
Jayne - thanks - I will have to go on that site for vegetarian recipes.
PatMom - I will try yours too although I think one of my sisters has that channel on if she is not watching the channel that gives stock quotes. The former relaxes her and the latter stresses her out.
And, in honor of this thread's topic:

Does anyone know where Arnie lives??
I am driving up to MI tomorrow, to East Lansing.
It would be surreal if she lived there & I was close & didn't track her down.
Does anyone have her phone number???
Arnie I'm thinking of you!!! Sending prayers.
Headed north in the morning.

Hey Faithie...I'm here in Michigan! I just sent you a p.m.
Hey all you dustbunnies!!! Sorry I haven't been keeping up...been a bit crazy around here. My daughter is still having trouble getting around, and I'm still having rads, (finished Dec. 9) and messing around with the drugs, just went off of Femara because of drilling like pain in all my joints and went on Armidex. Hoping my body will tolerate it better... There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of you all and pray for you guys. I'm hoping to get back on here when things with my daughter settle down. Until then....(((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) to everyone!

Heya Arnie..........GREAT, Grand to see your post. I hope you and Faith have an opportunity to meet and hug.
Hugs from me to you.
-
-
Hi Arnie! It's good to see you post.
I hope you do better on the Arimidex, you have enough on your plate without joint pain from the drugs. You've nearly finished rads too! My first one is tomorrow.
Take care. ((((((Hugs to you and DD))))))
-
Oh Jayne, gentle hugs. I cried all the way through my first one but it got easier.......I guess.....in an odd sort of way. More gentle hugs.
-
Thanks Sharon, I can just imagine crying too. Glad it gets easier :-)
Hugs to you.
-
Jayne & Arnie, hugs to you both!
Kathleen, I do love Maxine....
-
(((((((((((((Jayne)))))))))))) what time of day will you be going? Mine are at 8 a.m. I'll be thinking of you sweetie...
Thanks KAK... my doc doesn't believe in "radiation fatigue"...lol I think of you every time he says it.
Goodnight all.....hope everyone has sweet dreams...
-
Arnie!!Lovey!! Glad to "see" you popping in, but so understand you sure can't be having a lot of time to post with you and DD struggling. Bless you both, still think and pray for you both daily. Lets hope it get better really soon!! Take care of you!! hug and peachiest vibes coming your way!
Jayne, oh rads now for you, honestly, hang in there. I hope you have a good team around you to help you through that! I never had rads, max FEC-T x 6 eventually double mastectomies with SIAE flap recon, but I was thankfull to avoid the rads. I hope you have a break for Xmas? Still if I recollect, you have been a pretty tuff cookie through FECT-T so you will be able to manage this.
Thank you Jane and PATMOM for the websites, I needed to narrow the list of websites to my bunnies bestest ones, too much out there. I shall go on and get inspired with the recepies tomorrow.
Take care all. hugs to all who need them. Be good AND kind to YOURSELVES and hope you all have a brill week.

Arnie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So glad to see you back even if its only for a short time. How are Trent and Lila? I pray your daughter starts to feel better real soon. December 9 is right around the corner and you will be done with rads!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's awesome.
Kathi - I love Maxine too - she says all the things I only think in my head. Don't you just love someone (especially a doctor) who says they "don't believe" in something that's real. Okay, I don't believe in green grass - does that make it true?
Jayne - lots of hugs coming your way. Soon you, too, will be talking in the past tense about rads. In the meantime, I'll pray they go smoothly and no side effects.
Sharon - its good to have your buddy - the coonster - back!
All the aches and pains you all trace back to different treatments I have but I haven't had those treatments - just the bi mx.
Good night one and all - I love you bunches.
-
YUMMMMM Patmom!...Thank you!....
-
Oops.....Forgot I am not superwoman!!!!
Had a cold last week but things needed doing so I did some gardening, painted a wall, moved furniture etc , etc.
Since then my hand has some slight swelling with some aching and I can not think straight and spend most of yesterday in tears.
When will I learn that I need to take care of myself??
I think I have tried to convince myself that I didn't have bc and hope that if I just kept going at a flat out rate all would return back to normal. I know that my problems are so small compared to others like Saint .
Hugs to all
