Oh, Honey-Bunnies!  I am so bummed that I haven't been on here much lately.  But it's due to exhaustion & trying to catch up on my life, NOT because I'm not thinking of you all.

I'm so glad to read that there's some GOOD news among us.

I'm jealous that I couldn't be in D.C. with you beautiful girls having lunch.

Cheryl, you look fabulous in brown, you woman warrior you!

I'm amazed, aggravated, flummoxed about these new U.S. mamm guidelines.

I'm devastated to hear what's going on with Saint.  Faith, I'm so glad you got to be with some of your peeps today in person.  Don't think I can say anything else now, because it's really hard to say something heartening when you're tearing up.  Damn it all to hell.

Gentle, heartfelt hugs to you all.

congrats Carol.  I have taken  a couple of tai chi classes just for the exercise. I did not know you could get "belts".   But I guess that is the way one gets to be an instructor - right?

Dessert for breakfast - why not???   Faith, your jacket is beautiful - do you make them yourself?   I may have to do some housework today so I am able to get back in my apartment after my tripHugs and lots of happies today for all,  Nancy

Well my dust bunny friends...Are you feeling cold? Ready to crawl into bed under a warm quilt???

Today it is going to be 43C or 109F.  Dry, hot, suffocating heat!

So on with the airconditioning and NO HOUSEWORK TODAY .

Holy cow Viv!!!!!!!!!!  We had a heavy frost last night that lasted in the shady areas well in to the afternoon.  I LOVE fall.  Come and visit here so you can cool off.

Edit to add, I actually vaccumed and cleaned windows today.  Like that hardly EVER happens.  The window part I mean.  Now it doesn't look like we have sheers on the windows any moreEmbarassed

Edit again to add, obviously I don't vacuum that often since I can't even spell it.

Love the photos of the dust bunnies brunch get together! You all look so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Great article Jane, I really enjoyed reading it. Glad you chose to write that rather than doing housework.

I have been marked up for rads and I now have 3 very small tattoos. I have my simulation next Thursday and my first proper treatment on November 30th. I will be doing 15 fractions which means I will be finished by Christmas. Can't say I am looking forward to it at all, but I know that many of you have already been through it and come out the other side.

    Dear Jane,

Thank you for the update on you. So glad you will be done by Christmas, ready for your man, and everyone else in the family for that matter to pamper you and take care of you. You will just have to sit pretty, like the queen and reap one of the few benifits of BC treatment at Christmas.. everybody else does the work and cooks, and you just show up for the "good stuff" and "must have a little rest" for all the rest!! he he.

You've managed FEC-T so well, I am sure you will be brill through the RADS, just take care of you, ya hear!

Hug to you and all here who could do with one.

ps: Update on Saint on her "prayers thread".

    Barbe you're right there!

My DH has never liked tattoos on men or women. I mentioned that I would probably be getting some before rads and he was trying to think of how I could avoid it, like just using marker pens instead. I was non-commital since I really don't mind and think it will be more convenient to have tattoos. I don't want him to be repulsed when he looks at me, but I really thought that was unlikely. Anyway he wasn't in the room when I was asked if it was OK to do tattoos, so I told them to go ahead. I showed DH when we got home and he was so relieved when he saw these 3 tiny dots. He was expecting something much bigger for some reason. I haven't told him yet that I will probably have another tattoo eventually to finish off my reconstruction :-) My poor DH has had quite a lot to put up with, he had to get used to me being bald, currently lopsided, painting my nails black during chemo and now tattoos! He has got used to it and taken it in his stride so far.

Ah geez when I see what others are going through, I just think that I am lucky to be in the shape that I am in.  I may be fat and ugly but I dont hurt and my children dont hurt.  I feel fortunate that my childrent are thoughtful people most of the time and show me that they love me in the smallest most considerate ways (real food while in hospital, doing laundry to keep things going).  And then there is Saint.  My friend and her pain is my pain.  I miss her laughter.

Jayne, at least they asked you if it was okay beforehand!  When I got mine, they didn't ask.  The radiation tech just leaned over with an inked needled and stuck my sternum, and then told me!!

    Hugs, Jane.

    Nancy, hugs to your mom.

Yikes Kathi, that's not good at all! At least thanks to this forum I was prepared for them to do it, but they should still ask. I was very impressed with everyone who dealt with me at this cancer centre, it was my first visit there and they explained each step and asked if it was OK for them to do whatever it was. They also covered me up when I didn't need to be exposed. I have no modesty left but it kept me a bit warmer.

Lucy I hope your congestion clears up soon. Take it easy with the housework, too much is definitely bad for you! If my current lack of modesty continues I just might flash people once I have that 4th tattoo done.

Jayne - know what you mean.  After three trips to the hospital and one in rehab, what modesty!  Before BC I would no more have bared my chest than walk on the moon - after BC I was always offering someone the opportunity to look at it.

Kathi - they should NEVER do anything without first telling you what, where, how, when and why.

Lucy - I, too, hope your congestion gets better - I had some galloping crud for four weeks - it got a teensy bit better every day but it was reluctant to leave me!

To all my dust bunnies - have a great day.

    Hugs to everyone!

Jayne - I'm thinking of you, hoping you breeze thru rads with few concerns! I agree w/Shiny - rest and let the others do the hard stuff, enjoy your holidays.

Barbe - you do have a way with words and explaining things Wink. How's all with you?

Shiny - been thinking of you, hoping all is ok in Shiny-land.

Hey there Beautiful Julz (nice pic!)

I am just pipping in to say that I know just what you mean about Faith, and dancing! I have her 1st book and a cd and her DVD, the DVD has a few songs that really put a spring in my step.. especially the song about "dig dig dig in the dirt". Love em!

I can also confess to you and all the dust bunnies that, well, I actually do some cleaning, laundering, cooking and baking on most days...sooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy, It is kind of part of my job with the kiddies, butttt I don't slave at it, just for the record.

Love and bestest peaaaaaaaaaaaachiest vibes to Julz and all you loveys.

    xx Hug

I find myself breaking into "Goldie, Goldie Goldfish" for no particular reason from time to time.  I look forward to hearing Tall Giraffe!

Hi, Lucy!  Nice to see you.

Yes, they should have warned me about my two tats.  Maybe they sensed that I was one of those girls who likes tattoos.  I was supposed to get one five years ago for my 50th birthday, but instead I was interrupted by having back surgery to remove a herniated disk!  So, I never got around to it for one reason or another after that.  Then I got my rad tats, and I thought, "hey, the heck with this!  I want a tattoo that I chose myself!"   So, I went & got one this year for my birthday with a Sistah survivor, the infamous Celtic knot on the leg that's in my blog logo.

Tomorrow, I will be getting my portrait taken at the radio station that will be broadcasting my essay for their "This I Believe" series.  I have to bring a few things that say something about me.   Here's a link to what these portraits look like:  The Revealed Project

The essay will be broadcast on Wednesday 12/9/09, during Morning Edition and All Things Considered on our local NPR station.  Here's a link to the station:  WRNI This I Believe

Love and hugs to all you bunnies.
