    Oh Sharon,

My DS was looking over my shoulder, actually bouncing on his big peanut ball next to me, when he saw the pic about the "coon" on the toilet! He was very interested "oh cat, must not do that, might fall" "oh get down cat"! he he. I explained it was a raccoon.. we had good fun with it! thanks for that!

Thanks for letting us know about Coonie's "puter brobs". Please let her know I got her correspondence.((hug)). be in touch as soon as she is back on line (if you are talking to her)

KAK will try to get to hear you on the 9th Dec, I would emagine I could via the web link to the station??

Been raining all day here, very dark day, so did lots of baking with apples and cinamon, then hot pot with loads of chicken and veg, that's what I like to do on these kind of days, and the kiddies spent some time with their daddy before he goes out of town again for the week.

? Am I the only one here that is simply "busting" to start decorating for Christmas?? Just me?

Hope you are having a decent weekend. Sending you ALL my very best vibes and thinking of you.

Shiny, such a cute story about your DS and the raccoon pic.  I'd have loved to hear your explanation as to why the raccoon was on the toilet though.Wink  I will pass on your message to Coonie when/if I can.

Oh my, I can't tell you how delish your chichen hot pot sounds.  Is Betty's hotpot (Coronation Street) as good as yours?

Shiny, I'm embarrassed to tell you I am not much of a Christmas person however, our lights are up and so are our wreaths.  The lights do NOT get turned on until Dec. 1 though and that's when the wreaths will be decorated.  We made our wreaths out of grape vines and I have the decorations ready to add.  I collected pines cones and they are already sprayed with fake snow.  Inside decorating (which is very sparce) will not be done until about a week before Christmas.

    Gentle hugs to all.

LOL, Sharon!  Coonie, we will grant you special dispensation to clean your house, but just this once & only cuz your computer is misbehaving!!

Yes, Shiny, you can find a link on the station's website to the audio stream version.  I'll post it as soon as it's available.

Had the portrait session this morning, which went really well & was very emotional for me, since the essay & the shoot are about this long, strange BC journey.  But I want you all to know that one of my props was my red high heels!!

Sharon!!  LMAO...well, I'm very much debating whether or not to just post the written version of the essay before it is broadcast.   Hmmm.   Give me a minute.  I'm gonna go read it again & decide.....okay I'm back.  I'm gonna wait till the recorded version is broadcast, which will be on 12/9/09 on WRNI, before I post the text of it.  So, Sharon, you'll have to wait till then for this 450-word, one-page, very abbreviated, 'epic' story.  LOL.

I think I mentioned that since "ouyr family cook" goes to Ohio on Thanksgiving to me with her parents, she throws a Thanksgiving Dinner the Saturday before - so yesterday we all went to Damascus, Maryland.  There were 19 adults and 8 children there.  Talk about hectic but it was sooo good to see the kids again.  My gosh they are getting so big!  A good time was had by all and, of course, the food was delicious.

This coming week for the real Thanksgiving those of us still in town will probably go to a restaurant (my favorite kind of Thanksgiving - no prep, no cooking, no cleanup.

To all of you that keep me sane - a hearty thank you and have a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Thank you all for prayers.   My friend, Amy,  who has lung cancer had brain surgery (not sure exact nature of it), but she has no use of her left arm/hand and speech has been affected - reported by her son.  Amy will go for intensive rehab and any prayers for her are appreciated.   She and her husband were both widowed at young ages - with 7 children between them.   I am almost afraid to check emails for an update...   I am too far away to visit and visits are restricted to family only.

Hugs and prayers go up for all,   Nancy

Nancy, so sorry about your friend. When my father has a kind of brain injury from a clot to the brain stem area, they said he might never, well might never anything again. He went for rehab, and though he never regained much movement he regained his speech with physio and that was such a great gift and blessing to us kids that adored him. I hope your friend will have a good recovery in time and that her mets, will "leave her alone" to recoup from all this. Hug to you.

Faith, wow, what a proud mother, so thrilled for you that you were able to see your daughter get her award, brill. Hope your trip back home with your "hitch hiker" has been a pleasent one.

Arnie Lovey, still sending prayers for speedy healing for your darling girl. Hope you are being supported yourself in your efforts to support her and the kiddlets!

    Coonie, How's the "puter"?

It is 8:45 pm and am heading uo to bed, not enought done, leaving too much for tomorrow but was ill all last night and not 100% yet so got to go try to get some "kip"! Amazingly, my DH is already in bed working on the laptop, but he's not to go past 10 pm, as he is "whooped" from me being "whooped", bless him.

    Nighty night dust bunnies,

Now that we have so many people cleaning, the apt looks its shiny best.  Daughter has requested a traditional tree (with our hand painted ornaments).  The door gets its annual wreath with press on Santas (fun for the four year old).  Many children think that Santa lives at our place because we do wreath all around the door (well not at the bottom) with lights.... soooo pretty.

We have had the hand painted ornaments since before we were married and hubby and I painted most of them.

Shiny - I can only imagine how your fatigue can wear DH out.  lol.

Coonie - please get the puter fixed - I miss you so much!

Arnie - I pray you and DD are resting, healing, and feeling better.  I miss you too!  But I understand.

To all the dust bunnies - have a Blessed Sunday evening.

Nancy, prayers to you, your mom & your friend.  I will send her lots of good strong rehab/PT vibes.

Elaine, thanks!  This has all been way cool, I must say!

Faith, I think I flubbed a post to you on FB, because for some reason I got it into my head that Noelle played the cello!!  LOL.  Actually, the oboe is also one of my fave instruments.  Good on her!  That is just soooo great.

Dream, it must be so nice to see the house getting all dolled up for the holidays.  As soon as I shovel some of the clutter & paperwork off a few surfaces, maybe I can do some decorating!!

    Love you all.

Nancy- Prayers for your mom and your friend.

Faith- Congrats to your daughter! Glad you were able to share it with her.

Jane- Praying for you tomorrow. Take it easy!

Dream- It sounds wonderful. I love decorating for the holidays.

Actually that is what I have been doing today. I decorated for Christmas. It's a huge deal at my house. Everything comes out and Christmas goes up! And of course that involves some cleaning. I am exhausted tonight. Have to run a friend to the airport in the morning, so it's an early to bed night around here too. I actually fell asleep on the couch a little while ago. I never do that, so I must be really beat!

Looking forward to the food and family this week. I'm having it here at my house but we are a smaller crowd than usual.

Hugs and sweet dreams to all!

Okay - that Japanese one doesn't look like much housework has been going on there.  Love the blinds - gonna get me some of those.  Are those blinds or did they just nail the window shut with wood?

Well, I gotta clean. We've had our kitchen ripped apart for a while and finally got the cupboards on Friday. Of course there was a boo boo and a whole piece is missing. So, between working I've been trying to put the kitchen back together. My DDDH stayed with the electrician on Monday while I went to work. For FOUR hours, he just watched the electrician and didn't move a single box or put a singe thing away.....do I have the right to be pissed?

Then yesterday , on my DAY OFF, we were to lay the laminate flooring. He and his son had done the diningroom last year so he figured he knew what to do. 3 hours later there is not a single board laid down. He sits and looks at it. I had to leave the room before I picked up a knife. I made some suggestions, but they were wrong of course, because HE had done it before. I took 4 Lorazepam and went to bed at 4 pm. No lunch, no dinner. Don't care.

Kak, I want that on a sweat shirt.   Hugs, Barbe, so frustrating.   Slow down Hollyann.   I made my cranberry salad and artichoke hummus - my contribution to the feast tomorrow.   The old farts Bridge group will meet around 9:30, so no house work is being done here - maybe one load of laundry to keep ahead of it, but no ironing.  It is very wet outside  but I am grateful it is not the white stuff.

Did you see some stores will OPEN at 3 am on Friday?   There is no way you will ever see me out there at that hour or any time on Black Friday.   Know why they call it Black Friday?   It is the day of the year that retailers hope to go into the profit making mode.   When I worked retail, we had a lottery for how much we would take in - the usual was $ 40,000 or more.   This was a store that did over a Million from Thanks to Christmas - 8 mill a year.   I can remember those numbers, why can't I remember my own phone #... LOL !!!

Hugs and Blessings and HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all,   Nancy

To all the dust bunnies - have a safe and fun Thanksgiving tomorrow.

Lucy - have a great day and, for goodness sake, stop cleaning!

Barbe - I think I would have had to go to bed too.  Men!

Nancy - the cranberry salad and artichoke hummus sound great.  As for Black Friday I share your sentiments.  Besides, I thought the day after Thanksgiving was the day everyone put up their Christmas trees.
