Faith your sunset pic is beautiful.
Julz that dust bunny is very cute. I wouldn't mind if mine looked like that. In my house I sometimes say I have dust kitties because there is so much cat hair around from our 2 cats that I nearly have enough to make another kitty.
Mary that's a lovely story about your vet, I nearly cried too.
Mom what a wonderful opportunity for your dd to go on that mission trip to the Dominican Republic.
Lursa it's good to hear from you. I'm not surprised you got grumpy after all you went through. Hope you are on the mend now.
As far as my treatments are concerned there is nothing to report. I am recovering well from surgery but still not heard about my appointment with my onc. A nurse in the breast care unit suggested that I should ring the oncology dept. if I didn't hear anything by Wednesday last week. I have tried ringing them but cannot get to speak to a real person, just get an automated message. I have left my own message for them to call me back, but so far they haven't. I just feel as though I am in limbo. Not sure if that means I should have a chance to redeem myself. I just want to start seriously whopping cancer cells.
The good news is that the nurse said I would be OK to start swimming again this week. I think I have a swimsuit that will work OK with my lopsided breasts. I just need the sunshine to come back so I can go in the outdoor pool.
((((((Hugs to everybody))))))

Jayne just curious about what you lecture on at your college. You can always practice on us. We can use a good lecture now and then.
-
I have started getting a good little muffin top going since the surgery and now I just smile as I grab a little roll and think hmmmmm .....if I do decide to reconstruct that would make a nice size boob. Isn't it funny how all this changes our thinking.
Now excuse me while I grab a cookie uh I mean work on my reconstruction project.
-
Mom I usually lecture on computer/ICT type courses. This academic year I was doing quite a few classes on Key Skills in Maths and English with 16 - 18 year old students attending plumbing and engineering courses. They didn't always want to be doing their Key Skills but they need them in order to progress.
They could be a handful at times. I could get out of practice with all this time off!
-
One time in college I was taking my pre requisites for Respiratory Therapy School and one of the physics classes was geared towards engineering students. Still not sure how they landed me in that class but I felt like I had been dropped down onto the unknown planet from day one. Had no idea what the professor was talking about. It was the only class I ever dropped in college.
-
Jayne did you see where that 16 yr old kid from Sweden figured out that 300 yr old math formula? I thought I read somewhere that if anyone came up with the answer that it would wipe out math as we understood it. So did it?
-
Hey there all. Good afternoon to you. It is a beautiful day here. Tomorrow I have decided I need to clean the office. It is drowning in paper. Today I did 2 loads of laundry.
Mom I hope you are feeling better! neat about your dd. Prayers for all of you that need it!!
-
Mom well so far it has not wiped out Math as I understand it. That may not be saying all that much though! I also sometimes felt that I had been dropped onto the unknown planet when I had my engineering students, or that they had all landed from another planet. I was just about getting them licked into shape.
Kimberly don't overdo the cleaning, enjoy that beautiful day. Send some sunshine my way if you can spare any.
I'm off to bed now, my OH has just gone up. See you tomorrow.

COONIE!!!!!! So great to hear from you. You made my day.
Wow, you all have been deep these last few pages!! Mom & Mary, you made me tear up. I'm not a very religious person anymore (12 years of Catholic school will pretty much knock it out of you) but I am a spiritual person. Don't know what I think about heaven & hell. But I don't think it matters. Mostly I think we need to add something to our time here by being kind & loving as much as possible, because as this forum certainly demonstrates, you don't need to make trouble or look for trouble -- trouble will find you all on its own.
And laughter is one of the greatest blessings. I saw a cute 92-year-old lady today who made a face when I went over our PT plan of care. Her daughter and I laughed and asked what the face was for. And she said that PT was kind of boring and then did this parody of a PT making her do these dumb seated exercises!! LOL!! So, I promised her that I would not make her do dumb exercises & that I would endeavor not to be boring!! Got her to laugh before I left.
I'm sorry to hear about Mr. Arnie. Mom, that's very kind of you to send things to Shiny for us. I'll have to PM you.
COO-NIE, COO-NIE!!!

Just checking in, good to hear from you Coonie...prayers for speedy recovery.
Decided to treat my self to a manicure this afternoon (nails are awful, chip, break peel just looking at them) and there was this quite elder woman there getting her nails done bright red and her eye brows done. Turned out she is 99 with a birthday coming up soon.
I think my new goal is to be around long enough to be 99 and getting my nails and brows done!
Got prom pictures today, will try to get them posted tomorrow once I get them on my computer.
Hugs to everyone, hoping all is ok w/Mr Arnie!!!

Just got to talk to our Arnie and she said Mr. Arnie is holding his own. Still has some of the thick speech but is maintaining his humor and should be able to return home in a few days. She appreciates everyones love and support and prayers and will try to come on line as soon as she rests some. She is everybit as warm, caring and funny on the phone as she is online.
-
EWB.....I also have a story....One to do with the Trip to See Faith....But mine will also have to wait as I am off to work!
MOM.....You Said it All ...... She does Have a Warm, Caring Voice.....Much interlaced with Humor in spite of the Major Twists to her weekend! Might I add that Your Own Voice is Exactly what I thought when I heard yours!!!! Your voice reminds me of a neighbor or mine....In fact had I not seen your number I would of thought it was Her! But it wasn't till I was off the phone Had this come to me!
Big Hugs to You All I need to get to work! Night All! (((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))) to ALL that Need!!!

Theological house cleaners. Who'd a thunk it??
No sunset pics tonight...... bank of cloud. More rain in the forcast.
Gotta download this afternoon's -- may have some keepers. We spent the afternoon in our local state park. Lighthouse, bluff w/waves. Pretty spectacular, even under the cloud bank.
((((((((((((((((((((Shiny))))))))))))))))))))))
I've been thinking of you all day. Sending you prayers of comfort and support. I hope that you are able to appreciate time with your extended family. Savor the stories. Make some new memories.
Arnie. So glad that we've had an update. Take good care of yourself -- as best you possibly can.
hugs to each and all.
-
This has been a fun week as I've gotten to talk to three of the wonderful gals on this thread.
-
Jayne- loved the dust kitty imagery. I think my 5 cats would appreciate.
EWB- 99 doing her nails- way cool!!!!!
Faith- glad to hear your playing in the park. Hugs
-
Flash. You'd be even more impressed, pleased, proud, that I've gotten to work in my studio.
I've broken thru the great inertia of the past several months. Spent a couple hours making progress!
Feel free to kick me in the behind if I sit down again.

Good luck tomorrow (later today) Deb. You'll be in my thoughts....
Gary loved all the attention last time, so we'll have to load it back on! {{{{{{{{{{{{ Gary & arnie }}}}}}}}}}
I actually got up a 4 am to read the threads to check up on Gary. Always read this thread last so was relieved to see he's holding his own. His own what? Does arnie have to help him hold it?
-
My bad?
-
Thanks mom for the Mr. and Mrs. Arnie update. Prayers to them and to all.
-
Good Morning.
Hope Mr. Arnie is doing better today. You too Coonie! Miss you!
Deb, good luck with rads today. Let us know how it went.
-
Good Morning Dust Bunnies!....Sheesh! can't believe a Klingon is hanging with dust bunnies...LOL Anyway...off for an early appt. w/neurologist.
Thinking of all of you!
(((hugs)))

Thought I was up early till I saw Barb and Deb's post. Think one of them could have made us a pot of coffee or at least a yummy donut or two.
I have started a load of clothes and cleaned my laundry room this morning. Have the bathroom on my list next and then the bedroom. There's a couple things I have to get started for my younger dd this week too like swim lessons. So I best get back to the tasks at hand.
Shiny I'm praying for you to find the "joy that comes in the morning". Have safe travels back to the UK.
Coonie hoping all those tummy troubles are far behind you and that you will be back home today.
Deb your on my prayer list today. Let us know how it goes.
Mary was thinking you had something going on today too, is it treatment day again?
Mr. Arnie and Arnie you know we are praying for a full recovery. After all you were our first guy poster on here.
Love that sense of humor too. Think he may be a keeper Arnie.
-
Morning Lursa, but do all Klingons see neurologists?
-
Lol...I love you guys! Told leslie last night that I picked 4 or 5 threads to post on because they were uplifting... sorry I've been such a downer lately
But keep up the "funnies" because they make me smile....
Mr. Arnie gave me quite the scare on Saturday... we had a nice day outdoors and came in for a nap. I had just snuggled in when he called out to me, slurring his words...so I didn't even give him a choice I just called 911. They've done multiple tests since Saturday, his WBC was up so he's on antibiotics and they haven't found the source for that either... Our main doc who was out of town this weekend will be in this a.m. soooooooo hopefully he'll take control and we'll start getting some answers.
I was going to cancel my last AC for tomorrow, but my family is insisting I don't. I'm a little concerned about being in my "chemo" fog while this is going on with Mr. Arnie. Still not sure what I'm gonna do.
Again, my precious friends... thank you so much for the prayers and good wishes....
(((((((((((((coonie))))))))))))))))))) so happy to see your posts!!! Have been praying...
(((((((((((shiny))))))))))))))) thought about you all day yesterday!!! You're in my prayers too...
-
Arnie! It's so good to see your post. Sending lots of prayers your way. I hope your friends and neighbours step up to the plate to help you. May you get some good news today. Gentle hugs.
