That pic posted before I got a chance to explain...lol I made this sweatshirt last night to wear in the Westland Relay for Life this Saturday, my daughter is a team captain and has raised $2500.00! So proud of her... just wanted you ladies to know that I'll be wearing you with me when I walk the "luminary" walk with a bagpiper leading us...
-
Ohhhhhh brother...I need another cup of Java...lol I guess it didn't post! Well, here we go again...
-
TexasRose... (((((((((((Hugs))))))))))) I know you're starting chemo today...you are in my thoughts and prayers!
-
I am honored and humbled Arnie.
-
Thanks so much Arnie. I really appreciate it. I'm a little nervous, a little scared, but ready as I will ever be I guess. What I hate most is that I am feeling better right now than I have since the surgery and now I am going to feel bad again. Thanks for the prayers. Always needed and appreciated. I can't begin to tell you how honored I am to have my name on your shirt.
I didn't have time to scan back through and I have missed a lot. Hope everybody is doing well and had a good holiday weekend. It was low key around here, but that is good sometimes.
I hope Barbe is having a wonderful time! I sure wish I was on a beach somewhere!! I told DH yesterday when this is all over, I gotta fly to St. Somewhere!!!
Hugs and prayers for all.
-
EWB... you ladies have kept me sane...thank you!
TexasRose... just remember to drink, drink, drink lots of water or other fluids and rest, rest, rest.
Will be thinking of you sweetie...
-
TexasRose,
I am so sorry, I missed the post about starting chemo today. Know that prayers and gentle hugs are coming your way.

Arnie not only are you creative, and thoughtful but clever too as I noticed you wrote the names in alphabetical order! Very diplomatic I must say.
Just read this from a book called The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman In his book he tells how we all express love and feel love in different ways. The five basic ones being.
1) Words of Affirmation
2) Quality Time
3) Receiving Gifts
4) Acts of Service
5) Physical Touch
"Almost instinctively in a time of crisis, we hug one another. Why? Because physical touch is a powerful communicator of love. In a time of crisis, more than anything, we need to feel loved. We cannot always change events, but we can survive if we feel loved.
All marraiges will experience crises. The death of parents is inevitable. Automobile accidents cripple and kill thousands each year. Disease is no respecter of persons. Disappointments are a part of life. The most important thing you can do for your mate in a time of crisis is to love him or her. If your spouse's primary love language is physical touch, nothing is more important than holding her as she cries. Your words may mean little, but your physical touch will communicate that you care. Crises provide a unique opportunity for expressing love. Your tender touches will be remembered long after the crisis has past. Your failure to touch may never be forgotten."
I know this is talking about spouses but I see it relating to all of us going through this disease as well. We are in a time of crisis and I think it makes sense how many (((((((((((hugs)))))))))) go out from each of us to others. Its healing.
So Texas as you go into that chemo today, know you are going with a huge group hug!
-
Mom - that is so beautiful. Thank you for posting it, Hugs right back at you!
-
ARNIE - I, too, am honored. Thank you so much for including me.
-
Arnie, Thanks for including me, will be proud to walk with you!
Texas Rose, Chemo is doable, I believe the anticipation is worse then the actuality...Like everyone else said, water, water, water..........I will be thinking of you.
Today is my first Radiation appt, guess it will be the day I get measured and all of that.....NOT looking forward to this. I've had like a month off with no one poking, sticking or pushing on me, have enjoyed it. But this is the last step (other then the armidex) with this fight, so will be glad when it's over!
Hugs and prayers to all
Deb

Extra special (gentle) HUGS for everyone. I smiled when I read your messages. Thank you VERY MUCH for your kindness. I find it so awesome that I feel closer to most of you than I do to my "in person" friends. Blessings, Nancy
-
DebfromOhio... PM me and let me know how it goes... that'll be next for me after the 5 more chemos... how often are you gonna be getting it and for how long? I'll be thinking of you and Texas Rose today... THANK YOU for walking with me
-
I will Arnie...I believe it's 6 weeks, least that's the mid level onc told me awhile back..........it will be everyday except Sat and Sun. Will let ya know more when I get home.............
Hugs!
-
Thanks!! and no housework for you when you get home!!! lol
-
kmc I was amazed the first time I read that book about love languages. Once you read it your eyes are opened how differently people feel loved. It applies to spouses, children, friends etc. Ironically for couples they usually are weakest in the area their mate needs it most. Guess it's because opposites tend to attract each other so much.
Now hubby knows that pitching in and helping get the laundry put away or getting that load of dishes in is much more effective in my bank of love than sending me a bunch of flowers I don't particularly need or want. And in return I've had to realize that instead of buying him something I think he'd like that he would rather just have some words of appreciation and maybe a dinner out with just me and him.
Hey arnie that woman in your pic sure looks like she could use a little love herself.
-
Barbe just how long was that wedding?
-
Awwww Deb, can't you just ask them if you can get this kind of radiation?
-
For that matter Mom why can't i Just stand in front of thte microwave? LOL.........that looks so relaxing, wish I could go back to the tanning bed, felt so good on these old bones!

Arnie...thank you so much!!
All you ladies are so wonderful and make a person feel welcomed. My house is pretty clean today. My aunt is living with me for a while and we got lots done (me sitting her working).

Hello everyone, I hope you have all had a good weekend and not too much housework. It has been pretty quiet for me and that has suited me fine at the moment. OH and I had booked a holiday in Greece for this week (booked it before my diagnosis), but then we had to cancel it when I got my date for surgery. We cooked a Greek style meal on Saturday night and played our Greek CDs because that is as close as we are going to get for while. I am thankful that every day I feel a bit better and have a bit more movement in my arm.
However I have got a bit behind with posts on here, I need to catch up.
TexasRose hope all goes well for you with your chemo today.
Mom love your post about the Five Love Languages, it makes sense to me now I think about it.
Deb-from-Ohio good luck with your first radiation appt. I like the bear thing too; we have it on the wall in the staff room at work.
Makraz glad to hear you had a great time at Cape Cod, it sounds brilliant.
Julz happy anniversary! (slightly belated)
Sorry to anyone I have missed. Gentle hugs to all.
-
Linda all we can see are 2 very large red boxes, the same on the other site. But I must say they are very impressive big red boxes.
Texas hope you are doing ok, we are thinking about you. Deb you too. Hoping these treatment times will pass quickly for both of you.
lovin could you send auntie over here for a while??? Please
Jayne we use to live in Florida and would go to a great Greek restaurant in Tarpon Springs. It was quite an adventure. You be good and rest. No housework till you've healed. Sending a jolly little hug right back at ya.
