Val - your GrandD is so cute and smart. Out of the mouths of babes. And those out of the blue "I love you's" - priceless. I love it when my kids are loving toward their grandparents. DD made a poster for my mother. At the top, it says, "Feel Better Soon," and she printed out a bunch of pictures from over the years of my parents and the kids and wrote "I love you, Grandma." I'm so proud of her for being so sweet and thoughtful.
Linda - so scary for you and DS. I hope it goes smoothly next time.
Joan- glad you are feeling better.
You guys are so funny about the OCF.
C-diff is clostridium difficile - a bacterium that may normally be present in your colon. Usually, you have enough other bacteria that the presence of c-diff doesn't affect you. If you have c-diff bacteria and they are strong and outlive an antibiotic, it may take over the bacteria population in your colon and cause c-diff colitis. It can be hard to get rid of. Being a germ phobe, when I read about it a couple yrs ago, I made a mental note of a new germ to be wary of - lol. But they took her off of precautions today - so hopefully she will just get better and not have THAT to deal with too.
She might have been slightly better today- still not good memory-wise. My friend said it could take a couple weeks for the "delirium" to resolve. So I'm hoping she improves. She still doesn't know where she is most of the time or why she's there. Very upsetting. She has been very friendly to the staff. making comments and joking. So her personality is still there. She was much more cooperative about eating with them than us. My father was joking that she was flirting with her male nurse. We joked with a couple of nurses' aides that she liked her nurse and one of them said, "Oh, you like blondes, huh?" And my mother said, "I used to." My father used to be blonde. Now he's mostly gray on the sides and in the back and bald on top. So she still has her sense of humor.
-
I think I missed something - Diane, you are investigating possible auto-immune issues?
-
Chris, hoping that your mom improves and regains her memory. It must be so hard for you.
-
So glad to hear of your mom's good humor - seems a good sign
Yes, they are investigating this which is much better than the other options they looked at! Had a scope through my nose and down my throat yesterday which I hadn't planned on - I have some silent reflux happening. No alcohol or caffeine???? Yikes.
So, so cold this morning!
-
We had a horrible wind storm blow trough between midnight and 3 this morning. I can only image what the yard will look like once the sun rises. Only supposed to get into the low 40s today, snow level at 1,000 ft today....we at least that's what THEY are saying.
-
Thanks for the education Chris. I hope the delerium goes away too!
Take care Diane.
Hoping for no damage Meece!
-
Oh, because I am a severe asthmatic I was not able to be put under when I had my wisdom teeth out. It was a bit traumatic, but it was doable. I had to have them done one at a time , two weeks between surgeries. It was an anesthetic issue for me as well.
-
Thanks for the info Meece. They gave me a RX for 2 valiums, that he will take 1.5 hours before his appointment. Then they will give him more when he's there. Hoping that works. He has to have all four out.
-
I had two out two weeks apart, then 7 years later had the next two out.
-
The worst thing about it (of course I had my eyes tightly shut) was hearing the noises as the took some sort of mallet and broke the teeth to get them out. See if he can take an iPod in and listen to something.
-
Chris...i just to share this with you...i had a neighboor suddenly she got all confused and started talking her native language only...she wasn't that young but this happened instantly......
I didn't know her that well but through her RX found her DR and called in...explaining the situation....
DR made a house call it turned out to be that one of her RX was causing all the problems..........
Diane.....Please keep us updated.....stress can cause plenty too....Hugs♥
Linda....I feel for him and for you......This is not a time to make a joke but...I thought DR prescribed the Valium for you.....Good thoughts to your son and to you...♥
Meece.....EC is getting warmer for the next few days....Do you get winter where you are?
-
Good Morning....Honetmoon is over....because the comforter is little heavy and stiff...like I can wrap my body in it...
I really liked it but all packed and ready for a return....
Start shopping all over again......

Good idea about the ipod Meece, Thanks! BTW, that souds awful!!
Sheila, I joked with the Dr about valium for me!!
-
Yes, we get winter, just not a harsh one. Temps will be in the 30s-40s in daytime, and we have a lot of fog. Not so much this year since we haven't had a lot of rain.
Sheila, when they make bedding, there is a lot of starch in it which can cause heaviness and stiffness. If you are willing to give it a try, you can wash it, or at least throw it in the dryer and toss in a couple of clean sneakers (I shove them in old socks) and let the dryer pound some of the stiffness out.
-
Thanks Meece...i thought about washing it but if it still remains like that how am i suppose to return it?
-
You can also put tennis balls in your drier to soften things. Good luck!
-
That's a problem. No good answer for that, but I have yet to find a store bought comforter that is soft and cushy right away.
Just heard that two people were shot at my High School Alma Mater this morning.
-
It now appears that only one person was shot. It has already made national news though.
-
God help us....
Peace to the world.....

I'm sitting here watching the live news conference and saw a man who was stalking me about 11 years ago. Weird.
-
There was a big accident right down the block from me...Acedemy bus and a school bus. What a mess.
If I go into NYC to GCS i use that bus around that time.Oh lord.
And yesterday there was a boat crash on wall st.pier 11.I used that to go to work.Always said it went to fast.
Glad im retired....
-
That is weird Meece, last week my neighbor called me and said lock your doors. There was a guy banging on a few of my neighbors doors and yelling LET ME IN. Police were already down the street when I locked the doors and they got him within minutes. He ran through my yard, I saw the footprints in the snow.

Rex Trailer died
-
I saw that on the news. People are crazy.
