Thinking Out Loud.....

Chris....Your afternoon adventure wasn't pleasant but I'm LOL....only you can calmly post these things..........
Well....I started to cook and I was making some sauce from plum tomatoes in the can...had the can for a while checked the EXP date....it was fine
When I tasted it was like little lemony taste......I was gonna throw it out but I didn't instead I put some on the bread and ate it......If I get poisoned at least the rest of the family will be fine.......

I hope you don't get poisoned. Did it taste lemony because it was too acidic? I read you can add sugar - especially brown sugar - to decrease the acidity.
Oh that wind is back! DS went with a friend (a girl) to an outdoor holiday light thing - it's SO COLD out! I don't think his coat is warm enough. I told him he should at least wear a sweatshirt under it. He didn't. I hope he isn't frozen.
I reminded him that girls need time to buy a dress before prom... in case he's interested in asking anyone...like this girl. I don't know if they are just friends or what. I feel bad for DS - it seems the girls that like him don't like him "like that." He's always saying "forever alone" like from the internet memes. I remind him that he's quite young - and being a little premature with the "forever alone" stuff.
Some of these are a little rude...

Have fun Val!!
Chris, I made peanutbutter blossoms for my work friends yesterday, love them!! Have you seen the elf on a shelf with those cookies??? lol!!
Are you still with us Sheila??? Or did the plum tomatos do you in?????
-
Haven't seen the Elf on a shelf - unless you mean this - http://kooztop5.blogspot.com/2012/12/top-5-reasons-elf-on-shelf-better-watch.html
-
Chris...i did add sugar...Yes I'm still fine......I have to check those links now........
-
Maybe Elf peed in my tomato sauce.......
-
I hate peeling potatoes and apples.
I am off work until Jan 2 whoo hoo. I got a lot of goodies from work, don't need to buy any candy or cookies. Did pick up a spiral ham and turkey with trimmings. Have no idea when I'm going to cook the bird. The ham, maybe tomorrow.
Had BW done for CEA, CA 27-29 and CA 15-53. I will now results Friday when I see my hemotologist/oncologist.
-
Hope the results are good! Keep us posted!

Sheila, adding sugar to food that is too acid just covers the tartness. You can actually reduce the acid while maintaining the basic taste by adding just a pinch, yes pinch, of baking soda. It will neutralize some of the acid.
-
Thanks Chabba.....
It wasn't the acid it just tasted funny like lemony......
I'm still here
-
I must get to bed soon. Tomorrow is my early morning, Cook breakfast at the Senior Center. I make the biscuits for the biscuits and sausage gravy from scratch and need to have them ready to serve by 8 I have to get there early.

I have to find a way to get the plot plans for this house, I will propably have to make a trip into Lowell.
I had them in my hand a few months ago, now do you think I can find them, NOOOOOOOOOOOO. I hve been looking in every draw, nook and cranny of the house, driving me crazy. Lawyer wants them to pass papers.
I wonder if I can get them online? Anyone have any ideas???
-
It's always the one thing I can't find that is the one thing I need. I hope the plans turn up so you don't have to make a special trip.
Chabba - so nice of you to cook for people like that! Someday I hope I can get out of my own way enough to do nice things for people like that. Well, maybe I shouldn't try to cook for them...lol.
Did help set up candles at church for the candlelight service tomorrow. DD will play her trumpet. DS will acolyte. DH will be communion assistant. And I will sit on my butt singing, I guess...another thing I'm not good at. Well, the sitting on my butt part I'm good at...just not the singing part...
-

OK, it happened again! TOL is not in my favorites! What am i doing??
Got my beef tenderloin to day , thank God. Lots of veggies and I'm making stuffed shells and meatballs and sausages. Lots of cooking tomorrow.
Yes, thats the elf on a shelf. Love the link!!
-
Hope you enjoyed the chili, Sandy!
Elf on a shelf - lol - stay away from the peanut butter blossom cookies because the elf has been defecating on them?! LOL I've been taking my chances and have been eating them anyway. And that has been reflected on my bathroom scale
Sounds like you have nice plans, Sheila!
I have lost TOL from my favorites several times - I thought someone was trying to tell me something -like to leave all you nice ladies alone - lol I don't know how it got lost.
I have lots of cooking too - EMTs and Fire Dept are on stand by - lol. Apple pie, pumpkin pies, turkey for xmas day...then later tomorrow warm up the meatballs I burned, uh, I mean cooked, tonight and make mashed potatoes and green bean casserole to inflict, uh, I mean, share with in-laws tomorrow night before church. And at some point, I need to clean the house... not sure when THAT is going to happen. I'm starting tonight.
I've started my bottle of wine to make it all less painful... Not feeling much pain right now...lol
-
You crack me up Chris!! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
-
Merry Christmas to you and yours too! Good luck with all your cooking - hope everything turns out perfectly!
God bless us, every one!
I'm not Tiny Tim this year! I was Tiny Tim in 2009 after my bunion surgery and last year after my ankle surgery - no Tiny Tim for me this year - lol
So much easier to prepare food on two feet!
