Nice smile, Sheila! If you find out where to get a new brain, please let me know.

I was watching an orange cat walking around the yard when all of a sudden, it ran up a tree. I don't remember actually seeing a cat do that before. Then I saw why he did it - the great dane next door came over to see him. They were in a bit of a standoff for quite a while before the dog left and the cat came down- maybe 15-20 minutes. Don't know if you can make out the little orange blob in the tree on the left.
-
I can see it! Poor kitty! Big dog!!
I'm in for the new brain too!
-
Me too! Hope they don't run out before I get one.

Waiting to see if FIL will be discharged from the hospital today. Do you believe he was admitted on Sunday (confused - possibly from blood sugar - again- but his blood sugar was normal at the time and on the rise?!) and they never called to tell MIL or DH what was going on with him - and didn't make a point of finding someone to talk to MIL when she would visit in the afternoons until yesterday?!!! Unbelievable. On Tuesday around 4pm as I was leaving, I told the nurses no one had spoken to MIL. They said the doctor was on rounds. Well, the doctor never made it to his room before DH came to pick her up at 5:30 to leave to go to DS's concert. So yesterday they started talking about the possibility of discharging him. Uh - hello? Could you tell us what is/was wrong with him?! Finally, yesterday, the doctor made it to his room in the afternoon and talked to MIL before she had to leave at 5:30. Still no real answers. Dr was guessing blood sugar. Tests were all normal except one on Tuesday where his potassium was low... So she decided to call in an endocrinologist for this morning. Now to wait and see if he will be staying or going home. I hope he doesn't end up having to go home tomorrow in all that rain that's coming. Maybe we can put it off until the rain subsides...

I hope they get this figured out for you, Chris.

Glad you were able to order the comforter set. I hope you love it!
I hope you don't feel too sick this time around, Sandy.
Oh those boys! I hope Michael calms down and George is ok.
FIL came home. No answers really. Hospital made an appt for him with an endocrinologist for 1/17. Guess there's no rush...duh. I hope FIL/MIL call and get an earlier appt. Would be nice to know why his blood sugar is all over the place. They did lower his insulin dose. Weird thing is - he has confusion even when his sugar level is good. I guess it isn't just the level, but whether it's dropping or rising? In Sept, I dragged him to the doctor because he was confused and at that time his sugar was normal, but was dropping (110 at home and in the 90s at the dr's office). This time, his sugar was normal but was rising (148 at home - up to 200's at hospital-and he hadn't eaten yet). Anyone know anything about this?

I have no idea Chris but I hope they figure it out. Dementia??
Sorry about the boys Sandy, I totally get it....I have 2, too!
-
Sandy...hoping the boys are calmer today...
Chris i was thinking the same thing or maybe a reaction between medications......

Santa came a little while ago from Hawaii....I'm happy and
-
Maybe next year you will be decorating a Palm Tree??????????
-
Not not dementia - he clears up once his blood sugar stabilizes- until the next time. So frustrating - and scary. MIL heard him making weird noises around 3 am a few weeks ago and his blood sugar was low - so now she feels like she has to watch him in the middle of the night to make sure he's okay. They should not have to live like that. Sorry, but doctors suck. And one of my best friends is a doctor, so I do feel bad saying that, but my experiences with doctors have not been good.
-
Chris I am glad that he is home....
calm today...
Feeling tired am in bed and staying here, started fading early today.....Santa is coming to sons house at noon, I will be there, and have to go to walmart and 5 below....not the time for me to be sick
641pm!!!

Linda...I really hope so but I know it will take longer than that.......

I am heading north in the morning to spend Christmas with the Grandchildren. I plan to hug them tightly & will try to keep my emotions in check as they are the ages of the little ones who were taken from this earth in CT. We were going to leave this morning but didn't want to drive into the storm that was tracking across the upper midwest. (I might be crazy but not that crazy!) I will check in while not playing with the little ones.
Merry Christmas to all the wonderful sisters here!
Love & God Bless ~ ♥

Now I have a headache. It was made worse my DD's air freshener she has in the car. I hope the Excedrin works. That would be my punishment for my earlier comment if it doesn't though...
I spent all day yesterday making cookies. I take forever to do anything. And I kept having problems. Made the peanut butter blossom cookies - with the kisses on top. First they crumbled too much - so I thought I was baking them too long - then I had a batch I wasn't sure was baked enough - had a darker line in the middle that looked like it might not be as cooked. then I put a batch in and washed my hands and didn't set the timer - burned those. Then I figured they would crack less if I put the kisses on on a flat surface and then put them on the cooling rack rather than putting the kisses on while they were on the rack. It isn't like I haven't made these before. I'm just totally inept in the kitchen. Then I tried to make Italian sliced cookies from MIL's recipe. They came out okay. I guess I made too many cookies - I ended up bringing a lot back home. I thought people would take more home...
Now to prepare for xmas. The scab from my burn from Thanksgiving finally went away last week - lol. Time for a new one! It was about in inch below a scar I have from a previous burn. Apparently, I didn't learn my lesson... I should call and have the EMT's on stand-by. LOL
