Thinking Out Loud.....

The furniture never left my house - she told me to keep it because she was just filling space with it an doesn't need it. Plus her DH is happy cause he didn't want their yard full of things he would have to move to mow. For now, and with all that is going on in our lives, we decided to stick with what we have.
Sandy - how are you today?
-
Glad it worked out Diane.
-
Ok - so this is freaky. The other morning I was confused because I was thinking my husband told me that his brother showed up at his desk at work and told him he got a job there. I thought it was a dream, but was confused because I thought maybe it was real and he had told me that. So I asked him if it was a dream or if he had told me that and he said it must have been a dream. Well, this morning, he told me that after I told him about my dream, his brother called and told him that he had an opportunity to work there on a one-week assignment. Weird, huh? I hope he takes it and it turns into a permanent assignment, he really needs a job. Now if I could dream myself a job after I take that damn test (and hopefully pass.)
-
That is freaky, Chris!
-
Hello???? I can't believe how quiet this thread is! Have you all moved to another thread somewhere?
-
Diane, you're up early! I was on eaelier but didn't post. Off now to Prep for breakfast at the Senior Center.
Have a good day all!
-
Been up since 5. We are hosting a small wedding celebration here today so I am cooking and chopping and decorating. Thank goodness for the weather so we can do it outside.
-
Wow - such industrious ladies. I can't get out of my own way just trying to do regular housework... It should be illegal for manufacturers to make sheets that need to be ironed... got these XL twin sheets when DS went to an overnight camp at a nearby university this summer. DH read somewhere that they had XL mattresses. I think they are just available to those who need them. DS' mattress was normal sized. And the only XL sheets I could find were NOT no-iron sheets. VERY wrinkled... Luckily, I am just going to run an iron over them and put them away until someone needs them for college...which might be never...probably won't need XL sheets.
DD is coming home from Preseason today! I hope she isn't an overtired, stressed out you-know-what... 1st day of classes tomorrow. I'm not ready! (for a new school year of stressing out about whether the kids are keeping up with their work!)
Well - back to ironing those sheets...then on to cleaning the shower! My life is so exciting.
Hope all the wedding preps went well and the wedding is beautiful, Diane. And that Senior Breakfast went well, Chabba. And that everyone else is enjoying the day.
-
Well no wonder you are tired - who the heck irons sheets anymore? If they are wrinkled, they will unwrinkle from body heat or so I like to believe. I have ironed pillowcases for guests but that is the end of it for me. Almost all dorms are xl twins, so you will likely need them anyway.
Ok, back to fixing up the deck....
-
Hi everyone.............still not feeling like myself.....guess its the end of the season blues.................just found out my daughter is working from home for the next 2 days, so no watching the kids either.........I will go nuts in this house for another 2 days.................Oh well life goes on.........
My grandson (the golfer) has his first competition match today.........I hope he does great........wanted to go, but my daughter didn't want anyone at his first match...........said it might make him nervousl........she could be right............also was told I may not be able to make the walk from hole to hole, (knee problems), so that made me "sad" too, but I will try it in spite of what everyone says........
Nice day here today, too nice to be in the house.................and I'm tired of QVC..............and the Eagles aren't on today...............
-
Hope your grandson did great today, Ducky. And I hope you got outside to enjoy the nice day, even if it was just to sit in the fresh air. If your daughter is working from home and has work she needs to get done, maybe you can watch the kids for a little while each day - so she can get her work done? Just an idea... (((((HUGS)))))
Re: the sheets. They were REALLY wrinkled - like even after I ironed them, they were still a little wrinkled... They are folded and waiting to be put away now.
Sandy - hope you are feeling okay (((((HUGS))))))
Meece - hope your sewing day went well.
Sheila - hope you are out enjoying the nice day!
Waiting for DD to get home. They took longer to do the pictures than the schedule said. She was supposed to go to dinner with her bf, but they postponed that since it was so late...Poor guy - I think he really likes her and she's been so busy, she's hardly seen him. And he's going away to school in about 3 weeks or so....not sure what will happen then.

Glad you're back online, Sheila!
These were really bad - I couldn't not iron them. I didn't iron my DD's sheets, if that makes anyone feel better - lol. Just the ones that looked like I crumpled them in a ball and bound them together with rubber bands for a year... just couldn't put them away like that...Not that they didn't get all wrinkled again when I folded them...I don't fold fitted sheets very well... I don't fold anything very well, actually. I am not domestically inclined...
DD is home and had a great time at Preseason. Band uniform is hanging up downstairs...hee hee - I'm so excited! My little Husky. Now to get her to stay on top of her studies...
-
Thanks wonderful ladies..........what would I do without you all................by the way Sean, my grandson, won his game.............he was pleased, and I was thrilled...........my daughter said it was 2 1/2 hours of walking and standing, and told me she felt like a truck ran over the lower 1/2 of her body when I talked to her a little while ago.........said she was downing Motrin and going to bed.............wow and she is only 43.........no wonder she says "maybe I can't do it"..........I'm still gonna try though......................hugs.
-
ducky, they let golf carts on the course, maybe they would let a "disabled" spectator in a wheelchair?
-
Congrats on the golf game! Hope there is a way you can go see him play. Maybe call the course where he will play next and see what accomodations they have.
-
Congrats to your GS on a game well played. Do you have a "scooter" you could ride along the course?
Sheila, glad you got your connection back.
Sewing day went fairly well. I need to block out 1 hour a night to work on the dresses. I got one dress so far as to look like a "I dream of Jeanie" top. I think it will look nice when it's done.
Chris, I have had some sheets that were no iron. (Notice the words had and were.) I would put them in the dryer with some clean tennis shoes. when they bounce around in the dryer they tend to make the wrinkles less severe. They still wrinkle, but are easier to fold.
-
Well that's a neat trick - I'll have to keep that one in mind. IF I ever use those sheets again -lol. I was hoping if they ended up getting used that the material would soften - or something - and eventually they wouldn't wrinkle as much.
Oh the stories DD told. I want to be 18 again! Sounds like the kids are really nice and fun and she had a good time.
First day of classes today. Time to get down to business. They are using the same Chem book we used - a later version - but same author - 28+ years later - lol. I guess basic chemistry hasn't changed... But the book prices have...ouch.
-
Thanks for the suggestions............saw my grandson today.............had to watch his sister while he went for orientation at his new HS...................well he told me that he played a threesome with 2 other boys from other schools...............One was Monsignor Bonner, and the other Cardinal O'Hara................he beat both boys.........one was a sophmore, and the other a freshman............
It poured here today in the Philly suburbs, but then the sun came out..............I mean a torrential downpour..........right now it is gorgeous............should go for a walk, but just don't feel like it...........Lord I wish I could get my "happy" back........................just not able to..............hate when its like this...............
-
Hi!!! Just wanted to stop by and say hello to all. Internet has been horrible in the Mountains. How do people live here???
Thinking of you all! ((((Sandy))) Hope you are feeling better!
-
Hi Linda......
-
Good Morning!
-
Good Morning Meece and all my other wonderful ladies.....................hugs
...............don't let the Smiley face fool you...........still trying to get out from under the funk.....................just smiled cause I thought of all my great friends................................hugs.

((((((Ducky))))) ♥
Trying to figure out how to do meals now that DD will be away at dinner time, but still needs to eat dinner somehow....She's got band from 4-6 with a 45 min drive home T,Th, F and chem lab 4:45-? on Wednesdays...
It's sad - I had marching band 3 days a week - and dinner didn't start 'til 4:15 so I couldn't eat before band and dinner ended at 6 so I couldn't get there after band. I have no idea what I did for dinner all during band season... How can I not remember?
-
I know it isn't the nicest thing, but you can always make a "TV Dinner" from your dinner before you serve it to the rest of the family. Then when she gets home she can reheat it. It would be nicer than her having to get all the food containers out to serve up dinner from left overs.
-
Yeah- she had leftovers last night. I figured if she didn't eat them for supper, she could have them for lunch the next day and then have a sandwich for supper. We'll figure it out. It's just planning meals is hard enough since no one likes anything and they certainly don't like anything I make. So frustrating. I want to tell everyone they can make their own meals.
I saw this posted somewhere recently - describes how I feel every day.

Hello All I'm back!
We had a wonderful, marvelous, fantastic time. In the beginning there was jet lag, but got over it. I got tired of living out of suitcases but that's over. I had absolutley no internet as we did not bring our lap top, just made the limit on the suitcases.
The wedding was out of this world, the weather was pretty good, the sun managed to break at just the right moments for pictures outside and only sprinkled a few times. I will post some pictures as soon as I download them. I was not able to take too many at the wedding but the countryside, ruins, landscape is awesome. Compared to Europe, we are still infants when it comes to ancient ruins they are thousands of years old.
