Thinking Out Loud.....

Is it bad to eat cake for breakfast? I suppose I could call it lunch since I had cheerio's at 3:30 a.m., cherry pumpernickel toast (homemade bread by DH), at 6, and now am hungry again - the doc did say several small meals
I think this is what he meant, right?
-
Absolutely! Cake is acceptable (and preferable) for any meal or snack!
-
When you are on treatment there are no restrictions on your diet.
And if you are getting steroids your appetite becomes like a pregnant woman.
I remember at lunch time during chemo I used to eat mine and help myself with somebody else's tray who didn't want to eat.
Good Morning!
-
I don't even have the excuse of steroids - I turned them down after the first time. Sitting with cake now..
-
-
Thank you Linda - I know tthose are all meant for me, right?
Not sharing with any of you lovely ladies, but I am sure LInda will send you some too.
-
Here's a little cake I whipped up this afternoon!
-
Since I am new here, i don't know if you are serious. If you did, amazing!
-
Ummm, no. I did not whip that up this morning. LOL! You are funny!! I can make cakes from mixes, though. I'm guessing you are a much better cake maker than I am. I am GREAT at eating them!
-
Well this is the best stuff in the world, am addicted again.....yep DQ is it, and 1 stays open all year round here....would love to have some upside down cake.....playing the waiting game waiting for the oncol to call with the results...
-
Blondie - that looks yummy too - hmmm....maybe I could attribute that to fiber intake? Gotta hate that waiting game, wishing you to not have to wait too long and no big surprises.
Makraz - I am wicked glad you didn't make that cake, cause then I would know I am wayyyyy...out of your league. I am not much of a baker, only for need or whim. I am supposedly a wicked good cook. Ok, well I haven't had a chance to use wicked in the old MA way for so long, I just was wicked excited to get it in here...:)
-
That's wicked pissa! Just wanted to make you feel like you were back in NE!
Sandy, the popcorn looks awesome. I love carmel corn. Is it microwave???
-
I really think we need to plan to meet somewhere next summer, wouldn't that be cool...and I know it is and I don't care about any intake am eating everything I want as I said!!!

Wicked! Reminds me of the commercial long ago when Curt Schilling came to the Red Sox http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbdP679fk9w
I have family south of Boston, so I'm familiar with the accent and some of the colloquialisms. When my mother talks to her family, her accent comes back - funny.
If we're going to DQ, I'll have a peanut buster parfait!
I was googling and stumbled across this -
http://ms-my.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=55057451145&topic=16669
I take exception to number 29.
-
I can't get that facebook url to work as a link. It's funny though if you can copy and paste.
-
BLONDIE - If all goes well with treatment, and if I don't gain the 100 lbs. that I seem to be working toward, I will be in Boston next summer for a reunion.....
CHRISCT - Ok, that list was wicked pissa and effin' awesome.
MAKRAZ - Any of those references make me feel good, and of course, young
-
LOL!!! love the Bostonisms.
Sandy maybe we should alll meet at Dairy Queen!
I couldn't get the link to work either. Are you on FB? PM me if you are.
-
If you copy and paste the link, it will work. If there is to be a DQ meeting, I will be there. Isn't everyone on facebook?
-
I couldn't remember Curt Schilling's name (chemo brain!) so guess what I googled - pitcher blood on sock. LOL - it worked!
-
I'm not on Facebook.
-
That's pretty funny. He lives in the town next to me.
Me, sandy (blondie) Meece, Sheila, Deb and Foots are on FB. Did I forget anyone? sorry!
-
I need to drag my DS out popcorn selling. Sheets are due Thursday. Nothing like waiting 'til the last minute... Linda - did you have to sell popcorn when your guys were in Scouts?
-
Yes I did, this is my first year not selling the popcorn.....I still have plenty left over from last year. We used to set up a table at Dunkin Donuts and make a fortune. We also sold it at the entrance to our transfer station.
-
DQ works always they have one in your part of the country Linda/Sey/Deb?
Sandy
-
Yes, we have them here. I only go about 2 times a year. There is another one in Falmouth on Cape Cod, my kids are there all the time all summer long. i want a pecan mudslide sundea!
SHEILA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where are you?????????????????????
-
I hope Sheila didn't go find new friends! Perhaps she is out and having a lovely evening....
You will not miss selling popcorn, giftwrap, candy, cookies, tickets, or anything else in the coming years....I promise that. You will miss your kids being kids though
-
Hi...I was so tired today I didn't know what hit me suddenly.
I was watching Law & Order all afternoon then i watched ELR=Everybody loves Raymond.
I didn't even answer my phone.
So many posts i will read them tomorrow see if I missed anything.
-
RCG, I am not there yet. I would be happy if they were at someone else house for a night. The party is always here. It's nice, but tiring. My 11 year old just crossed over from cub scouts to boyscouts this past June. Then he quit. I was so happy but didn't tell him that. Between the two I have been a den leader etc for 10 years. I'm done. I look forward to missing my kids, now if I could just get them out of the house! LOL
Hope your not getting sick Sheila. I was wondering why you didn't answer when I called.
DH is in Chicago so I am going to get to bed early. Just out the youngest to bed and the older one has about another hour before I start yelling. I liked it when they would go to bed at 8 p.m.
-
I'm glad I'm not alone with this kids not going to bed problem...One of mine is taking his hour long shower....
-
Oh chris that was funny.
When DD was very young used to come out in the LR saying she was hungry or thirsty or something else.
One night she came out again I put a plateful of chocolate chips cookies on the table. and demanded she had to eat them all.
She never pulled that again.
