An interesting state or local race where 'my' candidate won was.....
(in my district a 21 year old (republican) college student and 26 year old woman (democrat) beat out the 'old' guys for the state House. Deservedly so, as they campaigned like crazy. Very refreshing.)
-
The most interesting local races for me this year were the statewide initiatives:
We passed gay marriage, legalization of marijuana and charter schools. Three firsts for this state. (My neighbor who was running for county councilman failed, which surprised me.)

But since I have to pick just one I'll say Fiddler on the Roof with Teyve (who also starred in the movie version). I was able to see the Broadway version 3x and have watched the movie numerous times.....hate like heck to be leaving out Camelot, The King and I, Sound of Music, Chicago, etc.
I had no idea that legalizing pot for recreational was on any ballots so I was surprised to see it was and that it had passed in CO and WA....my feeling on this is that it should..............

The worst blind date I ever went on was....
-
Early 70's....my roommate forced me into a blind date with her date's friend. We were going to dinner but had to make a few stops first...we would pull up in front of bars and small stores, my date would jump out and run in for a few minutes...he would come out with a small paper bag or an envelope - he and his friend talked in "code". It didn't take a brain surgeon to finally realize that he was some sort of bookie or collector
. I was terrified, mortified and really ticked off at my friend. We finally got to the restaurant, her and I went into the bathroom - I said I wasn't going back to the table and she refused to go back alone so we climbed out of the bathroom window and never saw them again. And his name was (honest to God) Vinnie!
Another bad blind date was.......................
-
lol wellwater...
