many years ago when I was a first year teacher. I either forgot to set my alarm or turned it off in my sleep because at about 9 am my principal called wondering if I planned to come to school that day. ARGH! Worse than that even, the director of my department and a parent who was thinking of sending her kid to our school were there to observe my program (my principal, bless his heart, made up a story to cover for me)......the first and last time that ever happened!

(Ruth: this has been helping me sleep - put on public radio very low, I hit the sleep button so it's on for 60 mins. It is like someone is reading a story to you, the voices are monotone, no commercials and you don't have to think which is key. When I wake up during the night, I hit the sleep button again. This has been lulling me to sleep and I'm a hard core case. My room must also be sub-zero...hope it helps)

-
When I was just out of college and was young and single, I ran around with a group of 4 other gals and we had the most fun year. Everyone moved to different towns after that year, but we've always stayed in touch, and gotten together when we can. A couple summer's ago the son of one of the friends got married, the rest of us all went to the wedding and had the greatest time ever!
The goofiest thing that ever happened at a wedding I've attended is.....
-
I have several stories but one that pops into my mind was the one we attended some years back at a country club....it was a first class wedding all the way. The bridal party, however, pulled quite a stunt. Someone had a fully stocked RV that for the bridal party to ride to the reception from the church. But first, they decided to pull into the woods and party a little....a little turned into quite a lot. We all sat at the reception waiting for dinner....we waited and waited (before cell phones), parents went from being worried to being ticked back to being worried. 2 hours after reception started, bridal party arrives...smashed. They had concocted a routine to make an entrance and it really backfired....several groomsmen were carrying in the bride Roman slave style and dropped her which only the bridal party thought was funny. Everyone was just stunned at the condition of the bride and groom, they thought it was hysterical. I thought the father of the bride was going to have a heart attack. Anyway, bride passed out at head table and was taken to a room somewhere, never saw her the rest of the evening. You couldn't help but feel sorry for everyone.
Sorry it turned into such a long story.
