-

-
OMG so cute!
-
Kymn, you look fantastic!!
-
Kymm you look great!
I just started going topless a week ago, 3 months PFC but still have the horrible black and grey hair..I try to wear more eye makeup now and bigger earrings to offset the lack of hair.
My hairdresser has been awesome..she cut it short before chemo, has trimmed it twice for me post chemo, went out and bought a no ammonia no peroxide wash and put it on for me,and never charged me a cent..I got her a nice gift card go thank her..she has also called and checked in with me throughout...I can't wait to get real highlights someday again! -
Kymn you are just too adorable. I bet you end up keeping it short.
-
kymn, you truly look adorable. i think your hair is fabulous!
-
Kymn, You look beautiful! I love it! You give me hope!
-
Kymn, you look amazing! Ypur hair looks like it was meant to be that way.
In two days I will be 6 months PFC, and have been going topless for the last 3 weeks. My hair is wiry and wavy, and sometimes just decides to pouf up into a fuzzball. I try to use product to tame it and keep in under control, but today I was at a Panera for lunch and a woman my age came up and told me my hair was so cute - she had no idea it wasn't my hairstyle of choice!
-
Kymn, thanks for posting your picture. I am a little behind you, I don't have quite that much hair on top. But you look so adorable, it inspires me to go topless sooner rather than later.
-
Kymn - super cute!
-
Kymn Wow! You look great and you have so much hair for 10 weeks! I still don't have that much hair on top and I'm 14 weeks PFC-your hair is growing really fast!
-
Thank you so much to all of you for posting pics and sharing your stories. I am 5 weeks PFC today (Yay!) and am starting to see sprouts. It is encouragingl to see how beautiful everyone looks as they return to "normal".
-
Kymn-absolutely adorable. I definitely have hair envy. Iam officially 8 weeks PFC and have nowhere near that.
I have a coloring question. I have been going topless for a long while-even when I was bald. I do have an almost complete covering although thinner on top. I had assumed I was going to be 100% gray but that isn;t how it is working out. I look like a cross between a dalmation and an appaloosa pony. Splotchy dark circles and gray on the rest. I think it would look better if it was all the same. If I put the color on will it dye the scalp in the places where the hair is thin? You know how you have to wipe the dye off around the hairline to keep it from staining??/ I am just wondering if it will look funky if my scalp stains a different color than the hair?
Or should I just wait a while longer til it fills in more?
-
Lilylady, can't answer your question about the hair dye, but you should think about doing some writing. You give such great descriptions of things. I love it, a cross between adn Appaloosa pony and a dalmation. I wish I knew what an Appaloosa pony looked like. Don't despair, I can't tell what color I'm getting yet. I used to be pretty light, not blonde, but light, had some red, light brown and probably some blonde too. Overall, kind of mousey though. I am going to enjoy coloring it once I get it back. It looks to be coming in much darker than it was. But I also have some large areas of white. I'm hoping that's what some people say started like that, but then changed. If not, I'm going to color it any way, right? But the most unattractive thing about my hair, is it seems very clumpy. It's only maybe 1 to 2 cms, but there are some thick patches and then mostly very thin with all my scalp showing. I think it really makes me look sick. I hope this appearance changes soon and allows me to go topless. My tried and true baseball cap is so bleached from the sun, it looks tie-died. I have other hats, but I only really like that one. And scarves just don't look right on me.

Good morning, thank you all for the compliments it was pretty scary going topless on wed I am just so used to having long hair that sporting the short hair made me feel naked. As you can see it still has some thin spots but overall coming in pretty good, the back is the thickest for sure. As for hair dye I went with a dark brown henna figured it would make it look thicker and then use a paste to do the fauxhawk. Yes I did get a bit of staining on the scalp but not too bad and it washes off within a couple of shampoo's and hey it gives the allusion of hair right lol. They Henna washes out in about 30 days I will probably keep using them until I get enough hair to commit to a colour.
Hope you all have a great weekend, I am off to rads
Hugs Kymn

I loved it Kymn! I am right behind you, but I am not ready to go topless yet.
-
Kymn, What beautiful hair! I am at 8wks PFC, and will not go topless yet. You really do give me hope! I really love how my lashes are growing, and my eyebrows are wild! I am thinking of going to ULTA today for brow shaping as they are all over the place.

17 weeks Post Chemo... getting there
-
Betsy wow your hair is coming in great, I love the chemo curls, I dont seem to be getting any.Have you had to cut it yet?
My eyebrows are all over the place now too have to tweeze them daily
-
I had it trimmed a few times... everytime I am even near my stylist, she trims something... mostly around the ears... I went for a trim at about 12 weeks and she trimmed the back and ears, and evened it out... since then I only let her barely touch it... my brows came back a little wild too... I have plucked a little and had my stylist help... they are ok now...
-
Kymn - Super cute! So happy you were able to take the topless plunge! You and I must be about the same PFC...mine was July 5. My young cousin suggested a faux hawk for me, but mine just isn't long enough yet to pull it off! I don't have any chemo curl, either...keep waiting for it to happen.
bdavis - the color looks great! Looks like a little sun-bleaching, or an expensive highlighting job, versus a chemo cover!
I know your avatar is blonde, but if I remember correctly (darned chemo brain), you said blonde was your natural color and you came in a bit darker? I just think it looks great!
My own hair definitely looks thicker over the last couple of weeks, but not much length yet. A couple weeks ago, I LOVED to run my hand over my hair, because it reminded me of a baby's soft, downy hair. Now, there is a little resistance when I run my hand over it. My eyebrows are filling in nicely where they were pretty sparse, but my eyelashes, which more-or-less survived chemo, almost completely fell out in the last couple of weeks. I joke that I have like four eyelashes on each eye, but, in reality, it's probably not many more than that! Oh, well... All in good time, right?
lago - congrats on the anniversary, as well as the completion of Herceptin! Hope you did something fun to celebrate!
-
Kymn - love it!! Remember when you were so upset about losing your hair....and look at you now just rockin' your new look. You look spectacular
Bdavis - Looks great!! I think my curls are similar to yours, maybe not quite so curly ... I don't know for sure because I keep getting it trimmed off until I figure out how to cope with curls!! I am 7 mths PFC but I think the Herceptin has slowed the growth down a bit.
-
Bdavis I can't wait to see y our hair get even a bit longer. They seem like really nice curls. You don't look like a chemo head at all. Totally normal
Thanks Yamaha
-
Yamaha... I am a natural blond, and when my hair first came in it was that chemo white, mixed with an ash blond... so a month ago I asked my hair stylist to make it all ash blond... That was fine, but darker than what I am used to ...but it matched what was growing in perfectly... and no more of that white hair...but normally in the summer, my hair lightens a lot and I get a lot of dimension... but of course didn't have that this summer as the hair I do have hasn't seen much of the sun... so today I went back to my stylist and ask for her to add those summer highlights... and this is the result... I prefer me with multiple shades of blond, not the mono-tone ash blond, so its much better.
Marjie... My hair is also naturally wavy, so I am not foreign to a little curl... My avitar has my hair flat ironed... I used to either iron it or let it go with ringlets... depending on my mood.
Lago.. and I too am looking forward to it geting longer also... I think we all are... except I have read a few women keeping it short. I spent a few years with shorter hair, and prefer it long...
-
Ok ladies....here's my update pics. I'm trying to capture my curls so you can see them and I also noticed that I always have pretty much the same look on my face in ALL my pics, so I changed it up a bit.
-
I'm one of those women that is keeping it short. At least till my normal texture comes back. I would say at least for another year. I'm loving short hair right now. So easy. It may stay short. Have to see what happens when my old super straight texture comes back.
Just bumped into an acquaintance on the street yesterday. I haven't seen her since New Years (sometime after my 5th tx). I was in a scarf back then but looked pretty good on chemo. She thought I looked so good yesterday that she actually said "You make me want to cut my hair that short"
Marjie you hair has a nice curl too. I'm not sure if mine would be that curly. I do blow dry mine for 5 minutes so it might get the curl out.
-
Marjie.. Your hair looks fantastic... and I am jealous as you have a nice tan too... With my multiple surgeries this summer I haven't been outside, like at all... And I usually live outside in the summer... I feel like a ghost... But you look great.
Lago... you sport a great short do... so if its easy for you then I agree... On me, short hair doesn't cut it...
Today I went to my son's school to pick him up... also where I work, and people did double takes with me... did not recognize me at first... I have been so uptight about going back to work in two weeks with my short short hair, so today was a mini ice breaker.
-
Lago - I'm a little scared to blow dry my hair, it might just make it poofier. I'm not a "big hair" gal!
BDavis - I went back to work this week and some people were really shocked when they saw me but people who didn't know me before, don't even realize I was sick so that's good.
-
looking great Kymm! I love the mohawk!
