LIFE'S A BEACH!

Seyla, I was in NC for Thanksgiving and we went to Boone to pick out a Christmas tree. They had snow flurries the day before and I was really hoping to see snow. It was really windy and cold the day we went but was clear with the most gorgeous blue sky.
I taught my DD's to make snow angels in the sand.... still works the same!
-
samsue, At one of our local sand castle contests someone made a family of sand "snow"men one year. They call it sand castles but it is realy sand sculpture. Some fantastic stuff.
-
Now snow angels in the sand what a wonderful idea.
Sorry Ladies you all know about my daughter but Samsue doesn't...
My DD moved to Oahu 2 years ago with her BF and they are sooo happy there.
I went to visit them in May. I never felt that happy and healthy. We went this deserted beaches DD knows I like them. Now she is engaged and the wedding will take place in Hawaii. I'm very happy
Barefoot on the sand and the wedding.

Thank you for the flip flops, Faithie. I wore a pair all day, even climbing up and down a ladder pruning a tree and decorating the outside of the house for Christmas. After my shower I put on a fresh pair and sat relaxing by the fire.
I feel so at home here now!
-
Faith, do you ever stop?? I am amazed at your energy and so happy you are able to
see so many of us BCOers...
-
Fathie you did give me FF when I 1st came to the beach & I'm still wearing them! Thank you-I love being part of this group-but as I said elsewhere-time to come to Oregon so we can post a picture of all of us together!
-
Here is a pic of StillVerticle and her dogs among the petrified beach forest on the Outer Banks.
-
Barbara how is Still Verticle doing? I haven't seen her post since her horrid chemo experiences. She kinda fell off my radar.
-
I'm trying to figure out which of the bumps is a dog.....
-
Skipping right along. Taking a long rest on this beach. These rad appts wear you right out. It is all the waiting... waiting for the appt. waiting for a ride home two hours later. But who is in a rush. Im cant wear FFs in -5 temp (I dont know what temp that is for you americans). I can imagine a warm beach tho.
-
Barbe, the dog is the one with four legs!
My rads went fast, I had to drive there and have the tx then get back to work within an hour. They were aware of that so they were Johnny on the spot.
-
Barbe, SV is still recovering from her near death chemo experience. She is happy we made it to see her. Yes, the dog is the one with 4 legs (good mone Meece).
-
Is that the smaller blob left of the BIG blob that is to SV's left?
-
That's the one!
-
Yup, that's the dog.
-
Is his name Rocky?

My DD was married on Maui and what an experience that was. I will bless her forever for having the wedding there. It gave all of us a chance to see a dream place.
My DD has been sending Christmas cards with her "snow" men made from sand. She makes them from different beaches around Florida and when she was located in NJ there. . We also made one in Maui even though the wedding was in October. We planned ahead! I help her with them when I can. It takes quite awhile to finish and then we take the pictures for the card. People are always fascinated by what we are doing. We always leave the snowman - we take our props of eyes, scarves and mittens with us but make him look great with other natural items so he can stay on the beach without any problems. We have families come up and ask if they can also take pictures, of course that's part of the fun. So we take their pictures and leave "him" for others to enjoy. With the sand being different in other locations the "snowman" always looks completely different. It's tons of fun.

ARGH I can not believe I missed Faith in NYC and the lunch in Phili..both are not so far for me. rats rats rats.
-
Good one Meece (I got it! I got it!)
-
It took me a while but I finally got it. Meece you are full of good ones today!!
-
Here's a picture I took this summer (up in northern WI, our summer hiatus) at a sand sculpture event for families. Can't remember if I shared it this summer -- in real time -- but it seems appropriate to 're-play' now, as part of the conversation currently underway.
-
EWB, I'm sorry if I've asked you 20 times before, but where do you live in NJ? I'm so sorry I didn't know/think to invite you ... it's certainly always open to anyone who feels like making the drive. There's three or four of us who try to get together every few months, and we extend to anyone we know who is within a reasonable distance. Sometimes we wind up with 5, sometimes 12, but it's always a good time. Faith, I love that snowman
-
faith--
Snowman? Sandman? Snandman? Whatever you call him he sure is cute!
-
talk about good sunset pictures ... i saw this on a friend's site and instantly copied for this thread!!!
-
Faith, love the snowman! He has such character!
-
Mary, I am speechless. Wonderful.
-
Wow what a great photo of Lady Liberty
-
Spectacular! I wonder how much is Photoshopped????
-
Unless I'm mistaking which way she is facing...hmmmm. Sun sets in the west....
-
