I don't want to make the rest of you toooo jealous, but after years and years of chatting and "boarding", I'm finally, finally going to meet Faith tomorrow!!! While she's passing through my neck of the woods, several of us are getting together for lunch. I'll give her a hug for every ten friends in here, so that's about 250 hugs, right??
-
You have loads of fun tomorrow, and oh, by the way, looooove your new pic. I think your calculations are right. Are you going to have enough time to eat and chat after all the hugs?
Love n hugs, chrissyb
ps, sorry girls can't post any pics at the moment as the internet connection is running at......get this.......53.6kps......ugh! By the time one loaded, it would be next week. lol
-
marlegal-give Faith a hug from me & have her give you one from me too!
-
marlegal, first, i want to tell you, i LOVE the avatar.your happiness shines out to us!! give a hug to faithie for me, i wanna be one of the 250! 3jays... faith, thanx for noticing the pics. im so glad you ladies posted them till i could join in. did you know, this is the only breastcancer website i've found, that you CAN put pix in. i was surprised, when i tried, and they said, "no, we don't do that here.. " just showed me how BCO fullfills all our needs. we Rock! 3jays

Faith, thanks for the new flip-flops, I really could use a new pair. Liked the ones with the poka-dots.
Yep, I live about 10 min from one of the best beaches around. Today going south to sharkey's. Hope the sun stays out! I think it's going to be 66 here. UGH.
Just love the sunset pictures. Warm hugs to everyone.
-
We expect to see many pix of the get-to-gether today!!! LOVE seeing my sisters in "real" life!!!
-
Okay, Faithie, I am not one to complain ...much...BUT when I came to the beach on page 501 I never recieved any flip flops! My heels are now nice and soft due to the pummice action of the sand, but I am ready for a pair, please.
-
Hope you have a fun get-together!
-
I, too, didn't get flip flops but took it personally and never mentioned it!
-
Well, at least we know we have the best looking heels on the beach, barbe.
-
Nor did I but I'm like Barb. (oops, typo)
-
Well I went a year without mentioning it, but I got jealous seeing all the cute ones this week!
-
Here's an Outer Banks Sunrise. Day one of the fun!
-
The hours flew by, oh sooooooooo quickly.
From left-to-right: Marlegal, brand new BCO member & I don't yet know her nickname & don't want to 'out' her with her actual name, then Mouse, Held, then moi: Faithie, and then our PatMom.
Do I get an award for getting the pic up first??
xx00xx00xx00xx
Now must go get the wet noodles out -- for sure.
It seems I have been grossly remiss in flip-flop passing-outting and so must go get a gross of the flippers. We must NOT rely on my being the only flip-flopper, cuz obviously I'm a noodle-head.
-
Goodness sakes I feel really remiss in acting as semi-quasi-partial beachie denmother to have been so totally awful at giving official welcomes with the traditional flip flops.
Last night when I was searching for some I must, say, in my own defense, I added that last image, of the six pair, thinking I bet there may have been the official beach comber in need of flip flops, despite my best efforts. LOL.
Little did I realize that 3 of you very active beachies, within hours would point out my oversights.
Dearie me.
Now Meecie & Barbe, I can kinda sorta think that maybe since I'd 'known' each of you from other threads, I may have somehow extrapolated that you'd always been 'beach combers'.
But Chabba, I am sooooooooooooo totally embarassed at not having thrown out the royal welcome, as has long been the tradition here. Please forgive me. Pretty please. All I can claim is my usual Swiss Cheese for brains status. Certainly not an intentional slight. Thank goodness each of you has been walking barefoot all this time.
Here are some extra pairs.
Meece: since you were kind enough to bring this to my attention, please have a whole collection:
Barbe I went looking specifically for an extra arty pair for you:
I see they come with a sober reminder. Cautious to wear them for beach wear primarily & not to work, as I can't be held responsible for any costing-of-jobs.
Now chabba, here's a set of more traditional colors:
Now, I may be sorta kinda caught up.
Anyone else in search of welcome flip flops, just speak up! LOL!!!
Eph? Did you get a pair??
-
Thank you faith, I felt welcome from the beginning but now I reallly feel at home.
-
Thanks Faith, you found perfect ones for me!!!
I'm pretty sure you gave Eph ones, cause that's when I confirmed that everyone but me (and obviously a couple others) didn't get "any".
You done good!
for getting the first pic up. What a great shot of so many lovely ladies!!
-
by our San Diego bay today
-
Lovely!
-
Yeah, I wore my new flip-flops today at the beach... they were great! hey girls I'll share any time, not sure what size you are but come and use them... they're all broke in. Can you believe there were actually people in bathing suits and laying out in the sun! I had my sweater and vest on to stay warm.
Saw one mother taking pictures of her two little girls - probably for a Christmas card. They were so cute with matching outfits and Santa hats on. It should make for a great card with the beach as a backdrop.
SoCal love the pictures, will have to learn how to upload them. Tried but wasn't successful.
Thanks for letting me come join you.
-
Faith, thanks for posting the pic
The woman next to me is cmfled in chat, first name Colleen. I was telling my hub that it was a good group for her to meet - some of us who had met in person before so she could see how we truly are real friends, then how we were all drooling over Faith, because we've felt like we've known her for years, but oh so nice to get that hug IRL (in real life for newcomers), and then bringing PatMom into a group of chatters to show how the crossover can be seamless. She had been pretty scared about this whole business (like we all were) and I really think today helped her. Faith - after you left we stayed more than another hour! I don't know how, I seriously looked at my watch when we got outside and almost fell over to see it was 4:00!!! Never have so many hours flown by so quickly. Especially considering that I got there about noon!
Samsue, you're in good company ... very good company.
-
3jays, I forgot to thank you for the nice complement
-
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Mary.
Of course I 'knew' that you were gonna sit and visit more..... but hearing about it makes me sigh. I feel sooooooooo fortunate for having stumbled in at just the right moment (for a change) and for having the opportunity to meet you 'ol timers from way back when I was positively addicted to chat function here.
Our Gertie GPS now says 2 hours and 12 minutes to go till we reach home.
So far the roads have been totally 'dry.' We did see snow accumulation along the turnpike thru PA, but not a flake in the air..... for which I am grateful.
This has been quite an under-taking.
xx00xx00xx00xx
Glad that you at least had a chance to lay eyes on Mr. Faithie -- as he is the one who has made this week's adventure a possibility. He knows how much we treasure our time together & was kind enough to make himself scarce, so that we could be uncensored in our conversation.
-
Lisa.
I adore the reflection of the palms on the water. Awesome, as I'm wrapped up in my layers staying warm next to the car windows attempting to 'freeze' me. LOL
samsue. Where is your beach?? What state?? We'll get ya adding pictures in no time flat. 3jays worked the longest and most persistent to figure it out.
-
Mr. Faithie - you could tell from his eyes when he looked at you that the man would swallow fire and slay dragons if you asked him to. I tried to give him thanks at the end for sharing you with us. It's so cool when they "get" what these connections do for us. It's another thing to drive for hours out of the way to give you that chance. He's a keeper alright. Oh - and for those who haven't met him - he's verrrrry easy on the eyes too!!!!
-
Faith, My beaches are in FL from Anna Maria to Venice Pier with lots in between. My fav's are Nokomis because it's not full of tourists (oops didn't mean to scare anyone away) and has great shelling. Depends what I'm looking for that particular day. I go to the beach for relaxation, refection and to get my "head" straight if you know what I mean. It's always the first place I go when I need time away from everyone and to think - or not think.
-
samsue....Your post gave me peace while we are freezing in NY.
You sound like you really like the beach. I hear it.
OOOH some islands come and take me away to the beach.
-
Mary...what a beautiful picture and you do look happy and peaceful♥
Im doing the same thing as you started reading each post and reply.
HUGS
-
Faith...So how did you like the NY was this your first visit?
Probably you saw more than I did in my whole life.
I don't go to the city.
When you say home its still Ohio yes/ LOL
Hugs Sister♥
