I just started a 'new' thread at the top of the top of the list;
Compassion for Dr. Weiss
The founder of BCO has been dx w BC. There are several threads posted by the moderators with a video greeting from her telling us of her journey.
I couldn't seem to post to the video, so started a new thread.
PLEASE, watch the video and then post your compassion for her 'new' journey.
Here's the link to Dr. Weiss' video announcement
http://www.breastcancer.org/about_us/press_room/press_kit/video/mw_message.jsp
Here's the link to the thread I started. (It's in the very first set of threads)
http://community.breastcancer.org/115/topic/758418?page=1#post_2004569
I can't seem to get the little link doodad to cooperate, but I think these are 'hot' just not very pretty.
Thanks beachies, she is deserving of our admiration & appreciation -- publically.
Edited for my clarity.
It seems the first link -- to the video, goes directly to the video.
It seems the second link, to the thread doesn't go there??
You can find a place to express your apprecition for Dr. Weiss under the first segment of threads:
Celebrating our 10 year anniversary.
Then the thread is: Compassion for Dr. Weiss.

Welcome to the beach newbies!!!! It's always nice to meet new beachcomers:)
Congratulations Faithie!!!! I know you are SO excited about the new book!!!! I hope it climbs to the top of the charts!!
I'm working today and sending all you beachies big hugs for the weekend!!!!!
edit: must have a picture at the top of the page.....LOL
-
I am off to learn the new equipment at the Y..maybe that will help melt some pounds off
lol
-
Liz, hope you have better luck than me! I've been going to our local Y for a little over 2 yrs and have lost about 16 pounds - some lose that in a month!! Not the point though - I know I'm healthier than I was then, better cardio health and all that crap
And honestly, I do enjoy going twice a week to the gym for a mix of cardio and machines, and one night to the pool. When I don't go for one reason or another, I really miss it and feel like a lump on a log. Faith, it's so funny seeing all your different book posts on various threads and forums and mediums, but it's exciting to read each time
Happy Friday to all and I hope it's a lovely weekend for everyone. Hope to have more pics to post by end of weekend.

Sorry ladies haven't had time to catch up on everyone yet.Just got back from Pacific Coast of Mexico. Here is a shot I took of my husband hiring a boat for birding and snorkling.
-
Having problems finding my dowloads again
I took this shot as we were pulling out of the beach.
Okay who is going to be captain?
-
My new friend doesn't say much but isn't he cute?
-
Mum. Your shots are always awesome. I feel like I'm there with you on your adventure.
Mar. I'm using the avenues I've got at my fingertips. LOL. I emailed the official board folks to see if there was some way to get my new book into the 'gift shop' so that a percent would automatically go to BCO. I haven't heard anything back yet. Otherwise I'll just move forward with my informal plan.
Today I took it/my new book, to a preschool where I go back about 15 years with the teachers. They knew that it was "coming" but their reaction brought me to tears. Picture a whole lot of squwaking and squeeling and jumpin' about -- by middle aged women. Made my day.
Two doctoring appointments today, so that was virtually the whole day.
Barbe. Our SIL is in the 'guard' which means his deployments are much smaller chunks. So far the longest have been about 4 months at a time. This one is "supposed" to be for about 2 months. I'm here at their house right now, baby sitting so they can have a final 'date.'
Our whole housing quagmire is a bit of a mess..... leasing is not helpful for the 'long run' obviously, like not getting the equity out etc. etc. My hubby assures me that the time has come to accept this offer. The details of where we will land/when we will land are still unknown at this point. Just don't send me any snail-mail till we make some decisions.
It's the weekend & I'm a happy camper.
Bring on some more glorious vistas!!

Not exactly a beach, but was looking through pics earlier from my visit to Tampa last November for a chatter's birthday ... about 25-30 of us met up in Indian Shores, FL at a condo resort. This was the view from my back door onto the Intercoastal Waterway. 4 of the best days I've ever spent, seriously. Thanks choca
-
someday, I want to sail the waterway with somebody that has a boat there...
guess I have to start my new bucket list...
-
Thought you'd like a walk on the beach girls......enjoy. Have a good weekend!
-
Mary, 1Cathi lives in Indian Beach, was that close?
-
Barbe-yes. It is the next town north. I am three towns south.
-
Happy Saturday Beachies!!
Hope you all have a wondermous weekend!!
-
I just hate it when an ad gets superinposed on a photo...
-
chrissy, nice walk on the beach, lovely
-
Hi Ladies,
I haven't been to the beach in a couple weeks, saw your thread and thought I would stop by and say hello. I miss the beach! It's 90 and humid here today and I am going to a soccer game. I would much rather be in some of those beautiful pictures above. Awesome pics mum!
Hope you are enjoying the beach today....somewhere...I'll be thinking of you all!
XOXO
Linda
-

Coonie - hope the D level is up and you are feeling better!
Barb - Hows the new place? Are you living out of boxes? So great to see some old friends!
-
Linda, we move Oct 7th so yes, we are living out of boxes!
What grade are the boys in now? Both in high school?
-
Hey Linda we miss you try to pop in more often. My husband jokes he is always looking for boobies for me.
Here is a pair of bluefoot boobies.
-
So he's a boob man, eh? Those are mighty nice boobies, if I may say so myself! And blue beaks too!
-
-
Hey barbe congrats on the beautiful grandson I like your new avatar photo.
This one is me and the boobie bird.
-
Mum, nice boobies...LOL!!
My boys are in 10th and 6th grade. Browing like weeds!
Good luck with the move Barb. I hope you LOVE your new place!
-
Mum!! What nice boobies you have!
I love the pic of you in the water.
Linda---I still hurt....mostly hands and feet, but my vitamin D had gone from 24 to 39 last visit. I'm still taking the heavy dose of vit D, so hopefully in December it'll be even better. Thanks for asking:) Seems like it's always something...ugghh
-
WOW!!
Ol' home days at the beach!!
Linda, it is seriously FANtastic to have you splashing with us. And blue boobies and Mar: I seriously LOVE that fence pic....... and Coonie and Barbara and Chrissy and and and and and.
OK. Now I have a technical question. Mum: I've long noticed that your DH has his 'logo' name on his amazing pictures that you've shared. Now I see that you've also gone that route, Chrissy.
How?
I download my photos from Picasa. I suppose I could add a monikor at that point? Super-impose some type before I send it to my blog? Maybe I'm answering my own question as I ramble. LOL.
Is that what everyone's doing? Hmmmmmmmmm.
Speaking of blog, those of you that know me, or have met me IRL, know how inept I am when it comes to technology. LOL. Today while in the car, (back & forth to Cleveland-area to spend the day with DH's relatives) I figured out how to link images of my 'products' from my blog to my website. I sorta stumbled into it -- completely by accident, but I'm feelin' amazed that I could make those hamsters run fast enough to get that accomplished.
So since it's Saturday, and we're on page 584, and we've got old friends poppin' in & new friends that we're just getting acquainted with.................... I say we start lighting some bonfires & make a night of it!! Pull up a blanket and let's get better acquainted.
Who's got some goodies to share?
Here's one from last summer @ Fyr Bal (Scandanavian festival) at Eagle Harbor.
Let's sit around and tell stories and gnosh.
-
Coonie, I LOVE that kid-on-the-beach picture but think it would be better without the body in the water. I didn't see the wader at first and the little boy seemed to be looking at the incoming weather. Way sweet. Is it your pic or have I just give free creative direction to a public domain pic?
-
things are mighty fine on San Diego harbor today
