I hear that Puff the Magic Dragon was misunderstood by some.......

Sahalie, your pics, couple pages back, were just gorgeous. Also your poem. It reminded me of a friend I saw yesterday, who lost her husband to a very aggressive form of cancer last month. She said she keeps waiting for the door to open and to see him walk in. It broke my heart. Then I realized, that we never truly lose someone we love. They live forever in our hearts.
Yes, we are at the Beach that our beautiful Angel created for us. We should all be thankful that we have this wonderful place to come and reflect, and enjoy good friends. Nothing is more relaxing than the beach. Listening to the waves, feeling the warm sun on our skin, hearing the laughter of children as they frolic in the surf.
Thank you to all who posted the beautiful beach pictures. They make me feel all warm and sunny on this dreary day here. Even if it is getting cooler outside, we still have our beach to come visit and warm our hearts.
JulZ, thanks for the great A to Z poem. It was very clever!
Celia, those cat pics were hysterical!
Spar, good to see you. I'm glad you got to spend time with your grandchildren, even though you had to work (yuck).
Faith, great beach and sculpture pics.
I didn't take notes, as usual, and can't remember who posted what. All your posts were great and I'm saying a big hello to each and every one of you!
Have a Beachie Keen Day!

Errands and grocery shopping all done.
Now doing travel laundry so it's done and ready to pack.
Sometimes smaller pictures come in more succinct and sharper image. Just saying.
Janny. Bless your heart big times. Thank you. I am so sorry about your friends husband.
It is the worst. Mine was my soulmate and best friend. To this day if in a quizzikkle mind set
about something I just think what would he tell me and I know what he would say so I then
feel complete peace. He still makes me smile like this moment just thinking of him.
Of course I see him in our children. They are my life's biggest blessing ever.
The star fish Janny. I love every star fish you find and share. They are magical creatures.
I can't wait for Spar and Julz to have the freedom to come home to the beach.
I miss you both. We all do. It's so unfair. We know don't we ! Uh huh. You bet.
Margaret. Again, I wish you well and hope any procedure goes smoothly and quickly to
get you on the mend.
Celia. Loves and flowers in our hair. Here there everywhere. California dreamin. XOXO!

Thank you Sahalie. I am also married to my soulmate. We've been together since we were 14. I know, what were we thinkin', lol! I don't know what I would do if I ever lost him. I can't even think about it.
Just love the pics!!!!!! Great stuff! Thanks!
SoCal, those Clydesdales are gorgeous. I saw them in person out in Sturgis, SD. They are HUGE!

A silver lining...

Hi Everyone
Have been spending time with my medical team. They tell me I am the same. The same as 3 months ago (but doc what about that trip to the hospital?) but my lung has improved. I am same height and weight. My le has neither diminished nor increased. I do not qualify for genetic testing but I do qualify for research test because I am.... get this, half French Canadian. Go figure-eh! Je ne parle pas le francais.
My hubby says if life gives you lemons look around for the rum and coke.
We are recovering from the sudden removal of Smudge from our lives. He was a personality. And where it came to Alley, he had a great big heart. She would carry him like a baby, and he'd be looking over her shoulder, "This is my people"
Am working on getting ready for Vegas. It is going to be the most wonderful thing to happen to me since childbirth.... !!!! And at least this time, I get to skip the labour pains.
I have managed to read through the threads but hadnt worked up enough to leave a lengthy post.
Saint, I thought the mistake was "I love apples" "I love apples" "I love apple". Did not notice the other as a mistake.
I try NOT to look for mistakes. But I know the reasoning, only God is perfect so the sewing must be made imperfect, lest we pride ourselves as being equal to God. I have a few Mennonite friends.
My friend Jacqueline is holding in there. Sounded a little stronger. It was 6th week of Xeloda so therefore a rest week. She starts back up on it on Monday. Still hope lives in her.
Talk to you soon, havta wipe the sand off my feet .....

I do love evening at our beaches here...

Lisa.
The clydes are breathtaking. So massive and muscular.
What a day in my neck of the woods. I'm just glad it's night time and almost time to slip
into my big bed.
-
LUV* The silver lining. Oh so very beautiful.
dreamwriter. How wonderful to read that your dear friend is sounding stronger.
I hope all are well. Our dear Spar and Julz are doing well and having fun.
Janny. I was looking for a picture of Ferris's sister giving the high kick to
the principal when I got a phone call and had to fly out of here at the speed of light
today.
Some days you just cannot win for loose or is it lose. It's late on Sand Dune Street.
My netflix sit on the hearth as I have vintage Cosby on the tube. I love those shows.
Cliff just unveiled their new fridge and he is beaming.

Well, I just got home from my Aunts, last month she had a stroke and stayed a few days with her helping my uncle learn to fix blended food and cooking and now he is gone, he was such a good man, he helped so many people in his life time , he will be missed by so many. My eyes are so swollen from crying. I thought when he went it would be his heart but after I got up there found out he had subdural bleeding which was causing the really bad headaches he had been having, it had to have been going on for a while, the dr. said there was old blood and fresh blood and he died.
Sahalie, that was lovely thoughts on losing someone we love and helped me today. Thank you sweet beach friend.
Julz, thank you so much for being my friend and caring enough to call and check on me. You are one precious jewel.
Margo, so sorry you are going through all that awful health stuff. I know you will be glad when it is over and done with.
Celia, can't believe you found the missing "s" in that needle point even after you said that I still had a hard time finding it. am going to start calling you hawk eye. Celia, am so sorry about the skin cancer, I didn't know you had that. How did you find it, was it like a sore or something. Gosh, let us know how that goes.
Faith, I loved that sea horse picture and the sand art today
Biker, the beautiful picture on the heart brush garden on the beach really touched me.
Dreamer, glad Jacqueline is hanging in there, hope she improves and can be pain free. I am so excited for you about a trip to vegas
lisa, love that last beach picture you posted, it is so calming
wings are you busy with kids or flying in the wind.
Saint, do you have more art work for us?
Foots, thinking of you and hopeing you are receiving help and sending you hugs
Sige, love your new avatar. Do you guys use one man kayaks or 2 man (i should say woman) we are thinking of getting a couple, right now we just row a jon boat but we have fun in it.
Luv, how are you my sweets, what some wonderful photos you posted today, they were all precious and beautiful
Mary-Lou, NED, yes! he is the one to dance with. so happy for you.
hugs and love A through Z and a special hug for my sweet angel

As I sit here & type, listening to the rain on My end of the Beach blending gently with the waves of Our Beach wash over the Hearts that Hurt tonight! Our Dearest Spar Of the Beach Needs our Compassionate Hugs to Embrace her as She Deals with The Sudden Death of her Uncle Today. Also that we may send thoughts for Easy answers in getting Help to take care of her Aunt who is recovering from a Stroke & now Morns for Her Dear Husband & faithful caregiver! May the Collective love from our Beach Surround them with Gentle Hugs to help ease the many emotions they will face in the Days ahead!
Thanks to All who enjoyed my Alphabet of Beachy Friends!
Good night & sweet Dreams of Serenity to All!

Spar sweet * I am so sorry. I had no idea about your Uncle. You have so much going on right
now and yet you think of others with such compassion. Your Aunt must have loved having you
visit.
A little happy for you : )
I wish you all the good feelings on Monday as I know that will be a kind of wierd one after being
off work for a while. The place you will be working at is so lucky to have you there.
Celia. My mind was so somewhere else today but came back into focus to realize OMG
you had the skin cancer taken off. How are you doing dear friend. I hope all the margins
are clear and you sailed thru with colors of light and musical thoughts as you completed this
surgery today.
Loves and Laters.
Sahalie

Spar ~ I am so sorry to hear about your loss...its so hard to loose someone you love so dearly. Know that he is smiling on you taking care of his loving wife. Gentle hugs and prayers for you.
"And I say, had I but wings like a dove, I would fly and be at rest." Psalms 55:6

JulZ ~ Very well said indeed!

Oh guys, I came on this morning to say goodmorning to all and find all these wonderful, uplifting, supporting post and just touched me so much i have tears running down my face. You all are so wonderful and appreciated.
My aunt said last night the hard part is going to be when the funeral is over and everyone gets back to routine and I am all alone. It just broke my heart. I am going to try to make the trip at least once a week after all is over and never let her forget that she is loved and needed. She is a strong woman and she is going to keep living at home by herself even though she is limited.
It seems like when stuff happens it is all at once and then for months or sometimes even years we are blessed with peace and then "stuff" starts happening again.
Luv, what beautiful inspiring stained glass windchimes.
Julz, loved the meditation shells
Sahalie, thanks for the little happy, the ducks made me smile.
Here is a sunrise to start our day, going to sit back with a cup of coffee and relax and watch the duck and meditate on a shell and listen to a windchime. (This is really true, I just won't have the beach in real life) Anyone that lives on the ocean is truly blessed every single day. Love and Hug from A-Z
also praying for clear margins for celia, please let us know soon as you can.
-
Spar, our dear Spar. I'm so glad that our beach is open 24 hours a day and that you've already received support from all of our friends here. This is why we need our beach round the clock and why we are so fortunate to have developed these friendships -- to support us thru the patches of rough seas that are inevitable -- to support us thru the storms that rage -- to support us when we go thru challenges and struggles.
Let me add my little lights above for the passing of your dear uncle. I feel like I already 'knew' him thru your sharing of his devout love and support during your aunt's recent hospitalization. Thank all that is good, that he was able to withstand his body's decline and survived, so as to care for the one he loved -- when that was most needed.
She must be an amazing person.... what a fantastic model for us all to have. Even in the midst of our loss and grief we can reach out to one another here.... holding one another up.
What a blessing this site has afforded us. Brought together by a common denominator, not of our choosing, but strengthening each other despite the orginal bond -- to new levels of maturity, understanding, hope, courage, fortitude, creativity, generosity and dare I add "love".
I know that your heart is broken with this passing. I can only imagine the concerns you have for your aunt as she forges ahead without her dearest. We will be here with friendship and nonsense, encouragement and giggles as you do all that you can in the midst of this story.
Know that I always have our circle of beach friends in my heart, in my prayers and in my daily walk. I will move you to the top of the list.
Take good care of yourself in the midst of all of this. Strength and courage to you as you wrestle with all of the emotions and feelings involved in planning the funeral. May you be carried by the stories that all will share -- about the difference your uncle made in their lifves.
We are here for each other. May angels watch over you now and always.
