Kerry, My hubby said that I love you for what you have inside not what you look like on the outside... wait a minute, is that a compliment or does he not like what he sees on the outside!

    Product report:

Have used the Benefit Eye Bright but do not like it nearly as well as the YSL Touch Eclat. Doesn't blend as well and is a little too obvious for me.  HOWEVER, the Eye Bright is very good on me for rimming the lower lid (inside the lash line) instead of the white that so many of you love.  The pink is light and makes my eyes look larger and brighter but is not so glaring on me.  It's a keeper.

I have to laugh.  I have some friends and acquaintences who never use anything but soap and water to cleanse, no moisturizers or treatments, and never use makeup and are very disdainful of "that industry."  Still, several of them have commented to me (and to others) recently that I am looking so good and "how does she do it?"  LOL  I guess supporting the industry pays off.  Of course, I have heeded your advice on several issues (making more of my brows, etc.) and it is paying off.  Thank you!!!

enjoy- which chemo are you on? I would see your dermatologist.  You may need a cortisone cream like benadryl.

I had oily skin before cancer... and after if I don't moisturize a lot I'm screwed... My skin definitely would be considered normal to dry now.

I found that Eucerin products worked well, especially Aquaphor Healing Ointment. I've been using it as an night-time eye cream lately to take cause of occasional dermatitis around my eye and undereye lids.

Tina- that's a good idea with the eye brightener! I will try that as well. I definitley have to blend the pink under my brows. I do like it, but I am bummed that it didn't work out for you.

    Hugs,

    Sale news!

www.skinstore.com is having a 20% off everything sale for the next four days.  I just used it to get 20% off that Lift Fusion that is so pricey at $140.  It cost me $112! no shipping either or tax for me.  Now's the time to splurge if you've been pining after some treats.

I am here to tell you that the LiftFusion does work on fine lines.  Forget it if you have craters, but the small stuff is pffftttt with the Fusion.  For many hours.

Bought a new blue eyeshadow last week, Clinique Blue Lagoon, and have been using it as under eye liner instead of the darker real liners.  Am loving it!  Much softer than the dark stuff yet still gives a lift and definition.  Try the color of your choice and see if it suits you.

Tina - The color sounds very exotic and will look great with your gorgeous eyes. Now me, as you all know - like the dark eyeliner look sometimes. Now look at this cover of Anne Hathaway - I love her makeup in this photo- dark liner, dark brows! She looks so sexy. And I love that hat she has on.

Raye, you look kind of like her! or she looks kind of like you!  I think she looks great except for the spreadeagle pose and combat boots........

Blue Lagoon.  I don't know if it's exotic or if I am capable of being exotic.  Sigh.  Anyway, we all have to find the look that's right for us.

I havent had the chance to stop in for so long! Sunday I went back and read like 10 pages to catch up and look for more great tips!

Beth - I post on G's board and she shared a pix of the two of you from your party. You looked just spectacular!

Bought a few more pencils from the Max Factor line (dark blue & a brown / black). I really like the way they look / stay on. Also made a trip to Clinique and scored on a sale of Happy; which made me very. ;)

As Hillary mentioned, the new avatar is in support of a friend - but will update it soon with my "new do" - which is one year out of tx (last week).

     Take care!

Personally I think Raye is much cuter, but I might be biased. (M. dated Annie a few years back...and she still calls every so often!!!)

So personally, I think Raye is cuter.

I need some new makeup for fall.  I know exactly what I want, and every time I go to Target to the Rimmel section, evey shelf is empty. GRRR.  I may have to hit up Sephora soon.

Sassy, Marin? LOL  Looks to me like she is squatting to pee.  Or worse. Tongue out

Well, M chose Beth over AH.  Quite the statement!!!

I have been frustrated at Target, too, with the empty shelves.  And it's not just the Rimmel.  I think they are trying not to stock too much but they are just barely squeaking by IMO in the stores near us.  How many times do you keep going back to have Lucy pull that ole football out just as you're ready to kick???

I tell you no lie.  If you have any small lines on your forehead, LiftFusion will obliterate them.  This morning, I put the Fusion over about an inch or so of a line there and within a few minutes you could see a gross difference where the application stopped and the untreated line began.  Just amazing!  I highly recommend this product, expensive though it is.  Still cheaper than Botox and/or fillers.  Marin, why don't you try this?

For you hair color mavens, I can report on Clairol's Second Nature demi-permanent no-lift color.  At $4.99 per bottle (plus a couple ounces of developer) you get pretty good gray coverage and nice color and shine.  I used the Dark Ash Blonde a couple of weeks ago and I'm trying the Medium Ash Blonde soon as the Dark was a tad too dark for me.  I think my hair looks better than the results from the hairdresser at $45 a whack.

    http://www.thecreativestudio.com/products/demi_permanent/second_nature_demi

The description says it is good even on permed or relaxed hair which is good news as I am getting so used to my curly mop that I am considering a perm of some sort when it goes straight on me!  Can you believe???  I have never had so  many compliments on my hair.  Crazy.

Oh, Tina, I'm sorry to report that I DID try LiftFusion right before I made the decision to get a filler. It did absolutely nothing for me and I gave it away. I gave it a serious try though. Maybe it only works on certain types of skin or skin with a particular chemical makeup?  I'm wondering, though, that even if it did work, wouldn't Restalyne still be less expensive for me? Or about the same? I guess it depends upon how much needs to be used each time... And btw, I "hijacked" Fashion again when a poster came on to talk about yet another new filler that's supposed to be more effective and "natural." Evolence or something. Well, I can barely afford night moisturizer at the moment, so I'll just keep dreaming of a wrinkle-free face until I win Powerball (and THEN will have a full facelift, my chicas....no messing around if I have the dough!).

So I'm headed off the the Redneck Riviera tomorrow for some sunning. Wasn't I just whining about wrinkles? Sigh.....

And Beth, as much as I think that AH is gorgeous, she doesn't have nearly the look that YOU do! You not only have amazing skin and hair, but the most beautiful (though a bit mischievous) smile I've ever seen! So of course M. chose YOU!!!

Marin, bummer on the Fusion results. Cry  Yes, we are all different.

BTW, this product is available in a small size for about $28 when it is in stock on the Fusion Beauty site.

Have a wonderful time at the RR and don't forget to use sunscreen AT LEAST on your face!  I know it's too much to ask for the rest of you.....

AH: I think she is gorgeous, but agree with Marin - she doesn't have the glow, dynamic smile, orneriness & attitude that our Beth does. Good choice, M.!!

Tina, part of the sassiness to that pose is the combat boots, legs out spread eagle (and that hat).

Marin - have a great time at the RR! Remember your sunscreen and espadrilles - oh, and that suit!!!

Beth and G - you both are stunning in that photo!

    OK Rimmell:

Here in Ohio, they sell Rimmel at Target, WalMart, WalGreens, CVS and Kmart. My Target's been rather sparse as of late - I went in for a hoodie and that was all I bought. I suppose that is a good thing.

I started to type this whole experience I just had at nordstroms spa, and I lost ,my post--- ugh.  It's a long story.  Too tired to type it again.

AH is gorgeous, but if she gets any thinner, or her skin gets paler she may need an intervention.

    Marin-

I've noticed that you've done the Restalyne injections. Lately I've seen alot of advertising about the injections. I'm thinking of doing something to my forehead wrinkles, which I got from sun worshiping in my college years (spring break in Florida).

Have you been happy with the results?  May I ask how expensive are the injections and how long do they last?  Are they painful?

    Any input would be helpful.

    Thank you.

Liz, I'm not Marin but I can tell you a little bit about Restylane as I just had some a few weeks ago.

First of all, the better treatment for forehead lines is Botox.  This is accepted recommendation plus my ps told me that is their practice's opinion, too.

Restylane is best at nasolabial fold lines (from nose to mouth).

Costs vary according to your location, but you are in CT so are in high rent district, as am I in MA.  One syringe of Restylane is approx. $600.00.  That price includes office visit.  One syringe will treat one area unless the lines are really deep there.  For instance, one syringe for nasolabial folds, one for marionette lines, etc.

Different answers about how long they last.  I think about 4 to 9 months.

You get injectible numbing (similar to dental work) into the insides of your cheeks if done in that area.  Not sure how it's done for forehead lines.  The anesthetic injections hurt a little bit but they take the worst sting out of the Rest. injections.  You still feel them.  Not horrible.  Babies need not apply. LOL

Hope that info helps until Marin gets back from her wild and romantic weekend.

    How to Do It
    1. Dab on Cle de Peau Concealer and set with Physicians Formula Natural Origin powder.
    2. Define eyes with Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips in Green Eyes and DiorShow mascara.
    3. Dust on Nars blush in Orgasm.

Thank You Abbadoodles!  You're right CT is very expensive Money mouth but then so is MA & NY.    I think any injections are going to be pricey since I have 3 deep lines on my forehead.  May be the cheapest solution for now, is that I should try some over the counter treatments & see if they make the lines less pronouncedKiss.  If not, then I'll have not choice.

Liz, from all I have been reading, those OTC fillers don't do much for real furrows.

Botox® will dramatically improve (and often eliminate) horizontal forehead creases, scowl lines between your eyebrows, crow's feet, and vertical wrinkles of your upper lip.

Your surgeon will pay $450 for each tiny vial of Botox®. Your surgeon will charge you about $200 - $300 for each area injected. Expect to pay this amount every six months to maintain your result .
