TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLS

Well shoot, I guess it's good morning to everybuddy now. I haven't been home very long. The dr office was running behind today so it's been a very long drive.
WooHoo! I am healing, actually healing. The Dr, said the xrays looked good so he left the cast off and put me in an air/cam boot and weight bear as tolerated! And you know I told you all about me having a screw loose well it had gotten so bad that it was painful and you could see the head of the screw protruding out of my ankle. So they removed it...yep, right there in the casting room with a 'local'. OUCH, OUCH OUCH! That really did hurt. Really hurt. Then once he got the local in they couldn't find a screwdriver to get it out of there. My dh suggested Auto Zone. The dr. finally got the side of the screw head and kinda pryed it up and then out. 2" regular looking screw. He then stitched it up and said my local dr could take them out and I go back Sept. 20th. I'm glad the screw is out but my ankle is painful for now but the procedure is over and the pain will lessen. I decided today that one of the things I hate worse in life is laying down and looking up to see flourescent lights. Especially if they're round ones. Always leads to bad things. But I have my air boot and will be walking soon. Yippee, and I don't have to schedule a surgery to get my screw out. I want to thank each and every one of you that wished me well and was there holding my hand, especially through that 'local' screw removal. Hope I didn't squeeze your hands too tightly! Thank you for all the prayers.
Shirley, you are in my thoughts and I miss you.
Jankay, thanks for the funny.
Marisa, I am strictly a dog lover and thank you for asking.
Amy, poor Peanut. Same situation as my sweet Rover. Raised right and would've never done anything like that. The women are always looked down on and automatically called 'hussys.' Poor Rovers reputation in the neighborhood is just ruined. We had to adopt her babies out that came from the tragedy. However, speaking of Peanuts no longer being 'pure' I have a little Rat Terrier that we've had since he was 7 weeks old and he's now 8 yrs old and his name is "Oliver" and he's never had any...uh... lovin. All our other dogs have either been male or too big. So, I was thinkin since Peanut is used goods my little Ollie might not care about her reputation...
Z, nice to see you posting and lovely poem.
Nicki, glad you quit that other job, too much for you. Sorry about your sister. I have 2 older sisters in remission.
Colleen, thanks for asking about my Amber. She had her 3rd pap last week and we should get results back this week. I'm praying to God that it's nothing, she's only 24 with these 2 little boys. But I had Cancer cells back about 14 yrs ago and they lazered them out and no more problems. So, I'm looking on the postitive side it's time things turned around for my family. I just know it's all going to be ok. Give Warren a big squeeze for me. Amber is an only child too.
Janny! Why are you still here? You should be at Pinkstock.
I got a pic emailed like the one Amy posted but I only recognized a few.
Tracy, so good to see you again. Hope all is well with you.
Hey to Marsha, Charlene, Iris, Mena, Vickie, Jazz, Gina, Odalys and everyone from Amy to Z. Wishing you all a peaceful nights rest. and I got my cast off.....

You must be exhausted! But you sound so happy...removed the loose screw huh? Sorry that had to hurt but now it's done huh?! Glad to have been there holding your hand for that. Auto Zone .. too funny! So happy for the good news! You get some rest...it's been a long day! I'm so happy for you!
Hoping for happy news this week for Amber as well!

SoCal - The covered bridge is very pretty. I Love those! No Clint Eastwood??? What a shame!
Colleen - It's so nice seeing you posting! The fam damily for the most part arrives tomorrow evening. Hopefully I'll be back from the hematologist in time to have some down time before it really gets crazy! But my family is a lot of fun! I just hope I can keep up with them! Savoring the lollipops and keeping them in reserve to make sure they last through the weekend! LOL
Jan - Typing this in notepad so I don't have to deal with POOF! Busy day tomorrow so in case I don't get back here before you go, be safe and have fun! Are you riding your bike to Pinkstock?
WildJan - Wow, your friend was being attacked by the dogs? Boy , that's scary! Hope she heals quickly!
Denise - Everyone starts arriving tomorrow. Reconstruction wise I think I'm doing great. It's all this incidental crap that keeps coming up! Damn blood tests....it Never ends does it?
The Xanax lollipops are a lifesaver!
We'll miss your great humor on the boards. Have fun and get back here safely and with lots of funny stories to share!
Peter - You came back!
Marisa - ummm, yeah, I keep my lion, Leo and elephant, Ellie in the barn with the horse, Hannah, and of course the dog, Dewey and fish, Fish in the house. I'm not embarrassed. I just forget to tell you!
Brenda - Thanks for asking about me! I hate those sleepless nights, I seem to suffer from them abundantly myself. I hope you are having restful sleep this night!
Tracey - Good for you! Happy to hear you're doing so well!
I hope everyone from A - Z is sleeping peacefully tonight.
Hugs,
Charlene -
Charlene, you're as bad as I am about being a nightowl. I love the night time. I got up at 5:15 this morning but my husband drove and I slept in the backseat almost all the way up there. I fought sleep though on the way home cos he was tired too and had to drive. He has to go back out on the road tomorrow so I made myself stay awake and visit with him. Hope I didn't leave nail prints in your hand today from squeezing so hard duing the screw removal. No more loose screws....I know tons of folks that are never going to believe that. lol

A man doing market research knocked on a door and was greeted by
a young woman with three small children running around at her feet.
He says, "I'm doing some research for Vaseline. Have you ever
used the product?"
She says, "Yes. My husband and I use it all the time."
"And if you don't mind me asking, what do you use it for?"
"We use it for sex."
The researcher was a little taken back. "Usually people lie to
me and say that they use it on a child's bicycle chain or to help with a
gate hinge. But, in fact, I know that most people do u se it for sex. I admire
you for your honesty. Since you've been frank so far, can you tell me exactly
how you use it for sex?"
The woman says, "I don't mind telling you at all. My husband and
I put it on the door knob and it keeps the kids out." -
Good Morning Everyone: In one way this week seemed to go by very fast. In another way it moved very slowly. So Im happy its Friday. By now many of our friends are together at Pinkstock and I hope they are havig a wonderful time.
Denise: Im laughing so hard. I cant tell you how many people tried to offer help to get me to go to Pinkstock, but I must say - you my friend -were the most persistant. Its the crack of dawn. Im thinking about you.
Amy: I just want to know one thing. Have you started picking out names for peanuts puppies?
Charlene: My sister and I never really got along too well for many years. Now they we are getting older somehow we are connected. I have an appoint at my onc 8/15 at 3PM. She didnt know this. She got her appoint on 8/15 at 3:15. Too weird. Its sorta funny. Last night my DH and I had a little disagreement - guess what I did. Went out and swam 90 laps (small ones). It was nice being out there in the late evening. The sounds of summer nights! Nothing greater than that. And when I was done - I used all my energy swimming, instead of killing my DH.
Peter: Our worlds are so different. So I missed your wake up post, and now Im up - your probably in bed or getting ready to go to sleep. Good night dear friend. May I remind you that I had to drag myself into the kitchen to make coffee again. I was hoping there would be a fresh pot ready to go from you.
WildJan: somehow I missed your earlier post about your friend. Sounds like the knee injury was fairly serious. Im guessing they put a stent in to prevent blood clots? I feel so bad for her. Its bad enough to get hurt, but I cant imagine the emotions I would be feeling if it was a dog I hit. Hoping all goes well with her second surgery. Well put her and her family in the middle of the circle and send strong healing vibes their way.
SoCal: That picture is so great. Covered bridge. It pretend life, it looks like it could be the entrance path to our wagon circle.
Colleen: As your read from my earlier post, I did walk along the shores of Lake Michigan again. It was so nice. The sounds of little children having fun, making snad castles. The lake was silent - no waves. So Im wondering, how in the heck did I get my skirt wet? On purpose maybe? Anyways, I was thinking of you as I walked in the water. The vibes were very strong, you must have felt them.
Janny: Havent you learned to cut and paste? Or do what I do. Save as I go along and then edit? I would get pretty angry if I lost a long post. Do you live near to Pinkstock? Your leaving Saturday? Will you arrive on Saturday?
Wild/Jan: Im laughing cause you have to be careful around us nurses. So I turned stint into stent. And now I see it was a splint. Im sure your friend is gonna be ok - what an awful thing to have to go through.
Marisa: Im laughing about your cat pummeling your face. My male cat Wesley does that to me all the time. He hates when I rub his belly. Except I call it bopping.
Brenda: As much as I hate going to the dentist, I would scream if mine retired. I would probably let my teeth rot before I found a new one. Craft fair sounds fun, but not on a hot and humid day. I cant tolerate the humidty these days. The dog days of summer are here.
Tracey: OMG! I jumped outta my chair when I saw your post. Its so good to hear from you. For some reason I wasnt worried - I knew in my heart you were ok. Just busy living life in general. Im so glad you like your new job. You were so ambivalent in the beginning about changing. Now dont you stay away long cause we miss you around here.
Brenda: I forgot to mention something to you. I so agree with the insurance companies. They have strong lobbyists. When I really think about it, I have been working full time for 39 years and have been paying into insurance most of that time. Of course didnt use it for most of those years. So it angers me how they took my money and now when its my turn to need care, they can be so difficult. But I do believe there is hope. Heard they just passed a law that will affect the tobacco growers and their lobbyists are just as bad.
Cheri: After reading your post, it reminded me why I never got into orthopedics when I was a staff nurse. The thought of a screw going into or being taken out of a bone gives me the heebie jeebies. Im so glad the bone is healing. Im sure that was praying on your mind. And now you have the camboot and can weight bear as tolerated. So does that mean you dont have to chase your grandson in the wheelchair anymore? This is such wonderful news and Im so happy for you.
Charlene: Good luck at the hematologist today. Hoping you only get good news. I cant imagine have a big family gathering at my house and Im 2 years out of treatment. I hope your big sister takes charge of things and lets you sit back and drink some wine. Glass of wine in one hand, xanax lollipop in the other. Now that would be a sight to see.
Cheri: I have been in that position, where I have tried to stay awake while my DH is driving. You truelly are a night person. My husband wrote a song once. "Dracula and me are both alike. Sleep all day and then we play all night. Oh Yea!"
Jankay: Good morning sunshine sister. Door knob? Ahahahahaha.
OK - time is up, gotta hit the showers. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Just cause Vickie isn't home doesn't mean she can't tweak toes. In fact, we came to the hotel last night to check in and didn't go back to the hill. I did get a call from Liz saying they were dancing on the tables.
We are soon on our way and Vickie is going to "really" be tweaking toes
We are going to catch up on the posts and bbl -
I am touched by all the posts. What a great good of wonderful people y'all are. Pinkstock is starting to sound like a great big family reunion.
Dancing on the tables? Pics, pics, where are the pics????
Cheri - big ouch!!! Glad that is over and all is well. No wonder you needed a blue drink last night. Drink up my friend.
Nicki - you are going to party with us tonight? Don't forget to take a nap we are night owls.
Got to go, work awaits. BBL -
Good morning all. Nicki, better be careful that you don't drink too much coffee. See what happened to this poor guy....
-
Guess what day it is!!!!!
Cheri, you lost a screw? Oh, I know a few folks that need to have screws removed or tightened - hehe. Seriously, glad that you got the air cast - should be cooler at least; that everything is healing and that that loose screw is out and shouldn't cause you any additional discomfort or surgeries now. I worked in orthopedics for years - nothing that involves bones is without pain!!!
I'm rushing around to get ready to go to the "craft fair" - oh, I am already hot. We enjoy our friends - good thing too. Will let you know how hubby handles all of this - probably better than me with my own personal heat waves at this point.
Nicki, a cool swim right now sounds good - think it might have to be the shower though.
Angel, thank you, I did sleep better, thanks. I hate those nights. Right after chemo and rads ended - I went thorough this weeks at a time. Not fun!!!! Doesn't happen as frequently now but normally when I am having a run of hot flashes and my hot flashes do seem to come and drive me nuts for awhile and then they kind of settled down again.
Gina, hope you can post an update today. Hugs to you.
Good morning to everyone else!!!! Safe travel. Can't wait to see more pictures. Maybe tonight I can get over to the "gathering/pinkstock thread".
Puppy, Angel, Marsha, Karen (even though you are at a wedding), everyone who is hurting whatever form - sending wishes for a wonderful day!!! Hugs
Yesterday I went to the doctor for my yearly physical. My blood pressure
was high, my cholesterol was high, I'd gained some weight, and I didn't
feel so hot.
My doctor said eating right doesn't have to be complicated and it would
solve my physical problems. He said just think in colors; Fill your plate
with bright colors; greens, yellows, reds, etc.
I went right home and ate an entire bowl of M&M's and sure enough, I
felt better immediately. I never knew eating right could be so easy.
Brenda -
Gooood Morning sisters! Off to grocery shop, takes me awhile since go to more than one store. Catch y'all later and have a great day!
Wild/Jan -
HOLY CRAP CHERI!!! You shouldn't do that to someone who has only had three hours of sleep. I about jumped out of my chair when I saw that wide eyed thing on my screen!
It looks like you pulled another all nighter my friend. It wasn't so long ago I was IMing with you and the next thing I knew the sun had come up! I couldn't hang this time .. after two glasses of wine and a muscle relaxer on top of my xanax lollipops I was reading the words twice on the screen and figured I should finally sleep! LOL -
OMG - that pic of that guy is creepy!!!!
hehe
Nicki - I would call it bopping too except that she jumped on her hind legs and hit my face with alternating paws at least 4-5 times..hehe..I love the madittude (Madeline is her name) -
Here Cheri!
-
Morning All
Boards are a little funky/slow for me this AM, so just saying a quick hello.
Sounds like the Pinkstock girls are having a blast! -
Cheri - no nail prints in my hand but I'm not sure I'll ever play the piano again .. ha! Did you ever go to sleep last night?
Nicki - ahhh, swimming in the late evening to relieve your stress. Thank goodness you have that outlet and DH is safe!
It's weird .. I have four sisters and ever since my dx I keep worrying like crazy about them. There's been alot of discord amongst us but somehow I'm the one who always got along with each one. Cheri you have sisters in remission. I worry that it's only a matter of time for my sisters. I hate this disease.
Nicki, Thanks for the good luck wishes at the hematologist. Your sister seems to have a similar dx as mine..early stage, neg nodes, bilat mastectomy, recon, er/pr+. One diff is she had an ooph and I didn't. My white blood counts are high and have steadily crept higher the three times I've had blood drawn since June. So what your Onc is suggesting for her caught my eye. How high is it when they get so concerned? Can recent surgery cause it to be high?
Actually, I'm having my brother, niece, her boyfriend (he has the same name as my ex so my SO renamed him Bubba for the duration of his visit .. lol), mom, my twin, and nephew crashing at my place all week. We're going somewhere else for the family reunion thank goodness. My oldest sister who has been staying with me made a big batch of breakfast tacos, manwiches, and the best ever chocolate cake for the weekend. I'm going to get some vodka and rum today so she can make mojitos or vodka slushies! I've put on a much needed five pounds since she's been here!
Jankay - mmmm, cold fried chicken ... yummy!
Peter - what a beautiful good morning image. I hope you get that disability pension. I'm glad your brother is fine again.
Brenda- LOL about the M&M's! I used to love love love love love the heat ... now my hot flashes and sore swelled feet have robbed me of that pleasure. I hope it's not too bad for you today and you have a great time at the craft fair!
GM to Madison, Wild Jan, Odalys, Marisa, Colleen, and all from A - Z. Waiting for those Pinkstocker pictures!
Hugs,
Charlene -
Brenda, it is great news about having the screw removed. I've had loose screws for years, just ask anybody, but I think this was the last one to come out. After a while longer to heal, about an inch lift added to a right shoe, I am going dancing...tap dancin..slow dancin...square dancin...ballroom dancin...Mexican Hat Dancin..and yep--even table dancin! I have really missed not being able to dance the past few years. I just want to walk witout pain. I don't care a bit if I have a limp as long as it doesn't hurt, I don't mind having to wear a lift in my shoe or anything else. Whew, got off on a bit of a rant didn't I? I'm just excited that these old bones are healing. You know, now that I 'm doing well with the healing I really don't miss the cigarettes nearly so bad. Funny how that works. Have a good day.

Brenda, I think I could eat well if it included M & M's. LOL How funny.
Charlene, I dozed about an hr. I'll sleep today awhile, too excited and wired last night. Enjoy having your family there.
Marisa, thank you for the little dancing doggy. I do love dogs, especially puppies. I like my dogs better than most people. They're crazy about me, don't care if I'm in my jammies all day, or what my hair looks like. If I scold them they don't hold a grudge...usually. And most of all, they are loyal to the bitter end. They would actually give their sweet lives for their masters.
Marsha, where are you? It seems like days since last we talked. Are you alright?

Good morning sweet chicas and good night our assie brother.......first of all let me say Cheri you so are Thelma you are tuff and smart........congrats on the angle.....it will be no time before you are up and dancing.......thank you for being a part of this thread........Second of all Peter let's make sure you understand what I was typing.....we always want your insight and comments about everything except when there is a miss understanding between us girls....it's so cute because before when you stepped in and tried to settle everything down you were using logic.....when women are "discussing an issue" logic has no place......logic never enters our minds....its about loyalty and betrayal.....it has nothing to do with logic.......ok sweet brother.......we would never want to silent you in anyway........Amy I think Peanuts has you completely fooled......she was ready and wanted it and went out and found it.....wagging her cute little tail the whole way......no telling how many times she found it.....how big was that smile when she got home???????????oh geez ladies and gent brb........Charlene...........

Good Morning all!
Nicki-no names for the new pups yet. I will have to see them and see what name they look like if that makes sense. I sure hope she has them when I am home to help her in case she has problems.
Cheri-how dare you imply that peanut is a used woman. I do believe from the pics I remember seeing of Oliver that she would think he was a handsome man. She might really take on the hussy name with Oliver close by. Poor lil peanut, her reputation is ruined forever.
Emelee-father is a jack russell. The only male dog I have that has not had the snip. Needless to say he has an appointment to be snipped.
Cheri again-woohoo on the cam boot. Loose screw huh? I would have never guessed,,,lmao.
Marsha-sounds like you were honored at pinkstock with the table dancing. Sure wish we were there, dont you?
Madison and Vickie-keep posting the updates. We love them.
Cant wait for more pics.
Angel-enjoy your family while they are there. Sounds like fun.
Brenda-love the m&m funny. They always make me feel better also.
Jankay-hope you enjoyed your cold fried chicken. Sounds good.
Peter-good luck on the disability.
Shokk-where are you this morning? in the closet? nawww, surely not,,you been out for a while now.
Colleen-boards were slow for me this morning also. Wonder whats up with that?
WildJan-sounds like a bad wreck for sure. Hoping surgery will go as planned.
Jan-leaving saturday huh? Dont rub it in too much now missy.
Shirley-hello to you if you are checking in. Hope Wilbur is still running freely.
Odalys-dont work too hard today. Its friday,,,finally.
speaking of work I guess I better get off of here and get some work done. I shall return.
Amy -
Ok corrections......"ankle" and "misunderstandings"......I really should profread but don't take the time when the phone rings because I'm afraid I'm going to lose my post and thats my story and sticking to it.........Charlene hope the family is not wearing you out girl........WildJan so sorry to hear about your friend.......doesn't the pic of the pinkstock girls look great but we do need names....do they look really hot or have they been to the falls and they are just wet.........I sure hope someone is taking notes.......(((Colleen))))) such a good mommy..........Odayls it really is good to have you back and posting again....when you got your new job I know you just didn't have the time but it looks like you got your grove going............there are so many I haven't had time to respond to chicas.....just had one of those days yesterday.....didn't have time to go and even pee.......I am so thankful it is Friday.....it is Friday right??????ok girls I am going to go back and read at lunch.....I will bbl........
-
Amy..oohh..I thought Peanut got out and was the neighborhood find..she's not a hussy if it's at home with her friend/boyfriend..at least not in my definition...hahaha
-
Marisa I am going to have to send you a pic of my cat! He thinks I am the coolest mom.
Cheri I am so happy to hear you are on the mend.
I am trying to read through the posts....
A quick update on me,
I need surgery.
My counts are very low so it will be tricky getting it scheduled. We have a date of the 27th as that is the break between the Abraxane and the Cytoxan. Hopefully my counts will rebound
So happy to see Nicki posting --
I am so bummed we couldn't all be at Pinkstock.
But we will have to party here. And if we have any problems.. well It Is What It Is!
Pinkstock girls I hope you got my package!
