Hello dear sisters and Peter. I sure missed y'all this week. Very busy week and by the time I got home from work only had time to take a quick peak. I mainly hung out at he cyber party threads. After a long day I needed a good laugh.
Wow, over 10 pages since the last time I posted. Im not sure I can catch up. Im going to get a hair cut this morning and made plans with my sister to take Steven and his friend to see the new Simpsons movie.
Such good news about our dear sweet Puppy.
Shirley You and your sister are both in my thoughts and prayers. My heart aches for you both. Not normal to outlive a child. I pray God can give her the strength she needs to bury her baby and go on living. May HE also shine his healing light on you and protect you from so much pain. We will joing forces and send you much needed strength. My heart aches for you both.
Deb sorry to hear someone else lost the battle. Cancer sucks!
Sue great news about your son. Brag away.
Shokk and Margaret Earthquake? How scary is that? Glad to see you are both doing fine.
Charlene glad to see you up and about. I love your sense of humor. I just realized the shower guy you posted is Chris Meloni. He is such a hottie.
Peter - How are you and your brother doing? I sure hope your brother is back on his meds. You need all your energy to take care of yourself right now.
BBL -
Shirley, my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family today.

Just have a second to say hello...we are in Cooperstown for the Baseball Hall of Fame inductions...so is half the world I think..our whole family including kids and grandkids are in a house we rented outside of town..nine of us..one shower..you get the idea!!! We are miles from a place to eat..it is also raining..my kids are southern california types and are not used to it!!
Hope everyone has fun at Pinkstock!!!
Hugs, SoCal -
Shirley you are in my prayers today. I hope your sister finds some comfort.
Thank you everyone for all your generous offers. I cannot believe I am missing Pinkstock. Remember when MB first started planning it and I found out I had to do chemo? The first thing I said was "I hope I am done before Pinkstock!"
Well, nothin doin.
I have chemo Weds afternoon and my s/e's are not pretty.
If I wasn't in chemo now I would be up there already helping MB- I used to be a caterer remember??
This is so depressing.
Love to you all,
g -
Vickie - sorry about your gazebo. Don't worry about the clean up and yard work. I found this volunteer to take care if for you. He is available the entire weekend.
-
(((((Gina)))))
I wish we could make all this go away for you. We love you. Sending healing thoughts and prayers your way today. -

To all CG's Amy to Z...
Love and Hugs, -
Liz, nice to meet another Okie. We've been here since 94'. Closest I've been to your city was halfway between there and Pawhuska and recently on 412 coming home from Denver during our vacation on the trike. We were lucky we had very little rain during our whole trip. Only once had to put on the rain gear and that was in Illinois on our way to Iowa.
Chemosabi1, hubby and I were up in the Lake Villa, Antioch area visiting family around June 23. Took the motorcycle trike up there! We had to drive our oldest son to O'Hara one of those days and I let my Texan hubby drive, needless to say we paid toll 4 times instead of once! I refused to drive as its been many many years since went to O'Hara by car!
Shirley (((hugs)))
Jankay sounds like you had a better day! I just took the day off and didn't do very much as I had been very busy all week doing major house cleaning and catching up on mowing 5 acres. I finally feel like I've accomplished something since gettng back from vacation!
Somebody mentioned they like Chris Menoli (sp) on Law and Order. I just got into that show as they are showing it twice a week here. I want to get the DVD's of that show to catch up on the earlier seasons. I like Grey's Anatomy but have to watch the DVD's as hubby doesn't like the show. Hubby and I are watching NYPD Blue seasons DVD's and Stargate SG-1 when there isn't much on tv. Anyone else a DVD nut? Got a fav seasonal tv show on you liked? I watched the Walton's during my rads, I loved it for the family togetherness despite some corny'ness. At the time I was getting hyped in seeing my own family I haven't seen in years as we were going to Illinois for my Mom's 80th birthday party/mini faminly reunion on June 23rd. I was so thrilled to see everyone, even saw a few cousins I hadn't seen in 35 years yet we were close as kids.
Well another day with no plans, probably read or watch DVD's...its so hot by noon I don't want to do anything but hibernate! -

Dorothy and Edna, two "senior" widows, are talking.
Dorothy: "That nice George Johnson asked me out for a date. I know you went out with him last week, and I wanted to talk with you about him before I give him my answer."
Edna: "Well, I'll tell you. He shows up at my apartment punctually at 7 P.M., dressed like such a
gentleman in a fine suit, and he brings me such beautiful flowers! Then he takes me
downstairs, and what's there but a luxury car... a limousine, uniformed chauffeur and
all. Then he takes me out for dinner... a marvelous dinner... lobster, champagne,
dessert, and after-dinner drinks. ; Then we go see a show. Let me tell you,
Dorothy, I enjoyed it so much I could have just died from pleasure! So then we are
coming back to my apartment and he turns into an ANIMAL. Completely crazy, he
tears off my expensive new dress and has his way with me two times!"
Dorothy: "Goodness gracious!... so you are telling me I shouldn't go out with him?"
Edna: "No, no, no... I'm just saying, wear an old dress" -

LOL at Marsha!
-
Amen to Marsha!! Christopher Meloni is one of my favorites.
I love watching SVU and wonder sometimes
if it isn't his compassion that draws me to him.
Jankay, you are so full of jokes!!! That one sounds
like me and one of my best friends, Dixie. Can't help
but laugh. I got a hilarious Aussie joke in email
this morning. I think I will pm it to you and you can
tell me if I can post it here!
Iris... a nice long post... glad to see you posting.
SoCal.. envious of you except for 9 people with one shower.
Sounds like the trip of a lifetime, but I think you told me you
have been before? Still a great time will be had
by all I am sure. When are the inductions?
((Shirley)) I sent you a pm. I do soknow how you all are
feeling, as do several others here. Know we are lifting you
up and will continue to do so over the days and months
ahead. You are definitely in the center of the circle.
Marsha.. Miles, my sister and I are planning a vacation
in December. Have never been to Jamaica but it is
in the running. We plan to leave on Christmas or the
day after. Just too hard to stay at home since Craig
is gone. All we know at this point is that we are heading
to the Caribbean. Which Sandals have you been to?
I just right this minute hung up the telephone from talking
to Ed. He reports that he and Puppy just got home and
she is doing well!!!!! (Thank you God) No diabetes.
Sugar is fine and Puppy is too. ((((((Debby))))) Love you
sister!!!!
DVD's.... I used to buy Craig a new M*A*S*H season
DVD every year for Christmas. We would all watch them.
Funny to say, he also loved the Golden Girls and has
2 seasons of that. It is hard for me to watch still. When
he was in 6th or 7th grade he had surgery for a tumor in
his ear (cholesteatoma). While recuperating at home he
was watching GG reruns. When we went back to the doc
for post op checkup I remember clearly him whispering
and pointing "Mama... is that Blanche Devereaux over
there?" Don't know why, but that is one of my favorite
memories. Guess because of that beautiful way his
eyes lit up when he laughed.
Gotta run get some work done. I am so way behind.
Love and hugs to you all! Pam -
(((Odalys)))
Love to say that name!!!
And Nicki... tsk tsk tsk... but I so understand and have to laugh. Can i just ask you ladies this... I know too many of you will have to know what I am talking about...
ever been just enjoying a nice snuggle or a sweet kiss...
and out of nowhere this look comes to his eyes... and you know.... you don't even dare look down because you know it
is going to be rising up.. waving at you.. "Hello... remember me?" You certainly don't dare touch it because that would mean you noticed it. Then he shifts position,
spreads his legs and looks down at it like he did something
amazing. The hungry look turns to pathetic as he looks down and looks back at you... begging you without wanting
to beg you...pleading for mercy....... oh how I hate that
look. Sorry you have a hangover Nicki.
Many years ago (like when I was about 21) I worked at a car
dealership and we often went out together after work to happy hour. When I went overboard, it was The DQ at lunch.
I would have a sprite, a hamburger with ketchup and pickle only. Other times... it was soda crackers and grape juice.
Don't know where those came from.
A few years back a friend of mine was a newlywed and said
she didn't enjoy sex and I freaked. I hadn't been divorced
an awful long time and had no significant other and I scolded her and told her she should be grateful.. some of us couldn't have that privilege. I think my current condition of not ever even thinking about it is directly
correlated to that time. *sigh* Oh well... I know that
is way too much personal info... but now you know.
Pam -
Pam, that pathetic look breaks my heart. Know it well.
On a brighter note, we have been to the Montego Bay Sandals, Ocho Rios Sandals and this year we are going to Royal Caribbean (a different one in Montego Bay). You should check into Beaches which is owned by Sandals but allows kids. Air, hotel, all food, all drinks, NO TIPPING, airport transfers, water sports all this is included in one price. You really don't need cash unless you want a suvenior (sp?) or want to go outside the facilities. The only way to travel!
Marsha
Did I mention unlimited drinks?? -
Wildabouthorses--I am a dvd nut. We watch entire seasons at a time from netflix. I am currently waiting for the most recent releases of House, Bones, Grey's Anatomy, Lost, NCIS. Just got Stargate SG 1 season 10. Am watching all seasons of Stargate again just because I enjoyed them. Also watching JAG, on season 2. OK, I'm a little obsessed. It's my down-time stress reliever.
Still working on the schedule. I've made 3 options for the others to review so far. We'll see.
I love you all, -
(perk) did you say unlimited drinks????
Miles will be 22 in another week... think Sandals will be ok? -
Just wanted to say Hi before my GD gets here! Which will be any minute!
Gonna go read about all of ya now!
Hugs,
Denise -
Ooooh Sheri NCIS, love that show have all the dvds for it. Had looked at picking up Jag since we only watched a show here and there but enjoyed it. Haven't seen House, Bones or Lost on tv so might be on down the road dvds. We have a Vintage Stock store that has used DVDS, video games and music so I check them every so often. If I can't find it there its either ebay or amazon I order from if I just absolutley have to have it. Wild/Jan
-
First page done and I'm LMAO over Pam's post!!!! (the last one that was quite descriptive!)
And Nicki......no luck for you last night. To Funny!
Hugs,
Denise -
{{{{{{Shirley}}}}}}}..I know how hard this is for you and your family. Love you and know that ALL my thoughts and prayers are with your family today.
Can't continue.........BBL
Hugs,
Denise -
Good afternoon everybuddy. Hope everyone is having a marvelous afternoon.
Iris, thank you so much for the ecard, just loved it. That was very thoughtful.
Shirley, prayers for your family on this difficult day.
Madison, I fear I have a child that will never be independent. I should've had more than one I guess coz I doted on her all her life, stil do.
Nicki, Christopher Meloni had a small role as a...detective. He questioned the lead woman that Bruce kidnapped and took to another town. Just a small part. It was after Bruce had went to see Brad in the mansion and then disappeared.
Odalys, my yard needs cleaned up, too.
WildJan, we get 4 Law & Orders a night on USA. He appears on the SUV one but I also like the guy from Criminal Intent that I can't pronounce his name.
Liz, you are just the sweetest thing. Thank you so much for card, I got it in the mail today.
Marshan, you do know Chris is mine...right?
Pam, it wasn't his...compassion that attracted me to him.
Gina, glad to see you posting more regular. And longer posts. You'll get back in the swing of things.
Mena, hope you're feeling better. Post when you can.
CherylCY, I know you're getting so excited about your trip. Hope you feel better and rest before your trip. I love you, Cheryl. Please take care of yourself. You're one of the nicest ladies I've ever known.
Hey to Jazz, Charlene, Sheri, Denise, Boo, Gus, Vickie and everyone from Amy to Z hoping all has a good day.
pals
cheri -
Pam, heehee that got your attention did it? YES unlimited, read free drinks. All day long. All night long. All week long. Tropical drinks, bar brand, high brand, beer, wine, champagne. Order one and you don't like it? Order something else. haha Even have a swim up pool bar with tables and barstools built into the pool. Sandals is considered a couples place. But as long as Miles is of age no one cares what kind of couple you are. Adults only is the main thing. www.sandals.com Look at Royal Carribbeen resort. Has it's on out island!
-
Pam, I must ask. Have you been sleeping with my husband?
pals
cheri -
Just checking in this afternoon.
It's beautiful here in the SF Bay Area.
Nicki, ewwww, you couldn't put your sunroof down or the cicadas would hop a ride???? Gross. Oh, a wine hangover is the worst.
WildJan, I think it's funny that you are into motorcycles and so is our other Jan. I understand that Rescue Me is supposed to be a great series - I have Season 2 on DVD but need to get Season 1 first.
Iris, I don't know if you have to swallow the gunky goop or you can take pills, but I highly recommend the pills. I don't think I would have been able to do it had I had to drink stuff.
Marsha, so that's Christopher Meloni? Don't watch L&O.
Cheri, I too, fear I have a child that will never be independent. He knows we are constantly looking for places to retire so I tell him we're looking at 55 and over active adult communities. He too is spoiled - he was the baby but my only child.
CY, I don't know how you do everything you do and still doing chemo. You are an inspiration.
Back later. -
Hey,Cheri--thanks for your help w/the pic posting. I think I will ask for a job doing avatars as I am so speedy w/this. What did it take 3 hours and a zillion emails? Thanks for the patience!
Margaret-you are so right abt that crappy stuff! I had to drink a 3 liter bottle of ginger ale and have not been able to drink any in four yrs. You are so fortunate w/pills. My next one comes in fall,2008. The actual thoughts and prelim is the worst part! Anyway,it is imp and check that off the list and more fun things this wkend like eating sounds good.
