Sue -
Good Morning Campers. Time for bed Peter. Thanks for watching over us. Charlene sent you a friends request too. Time to put on the get busy hat and start packing for Pinkstock. Thats my plan for the week.
Margaret, thanks for the yummy thai noodle salad. Get yourself on myspace. I'm on a mission to take it over and out of the hands of all the silly teenagers who post nasty pictures of themselves. Geez don't they know their parents look at that stuff. At least this parent did and still does.
Denise, what was under the towel?
Mandy, looks like your putting on your get busy hat too. Why is it we feel the need to clean the house before we leave for vacation?
Peter, I hope you sleep well tonight.
Karen, you are probably just rolling into surgery now. I will be praying for you till we hear all is well.
Charlene, good advice to Cheri. Cheri no loops while Charlene is on the carpet. She's a bit loopy herself and probably forgot to put on her seatbelt.
Daughters wedding was the best party I've ever been too. 400 friends and family having a ball. Party lasted for hours after the bride and groom retired. The hotel we had the reception at comped them a room for the night as part of the deal. Then they went to the beach the next day for more pics and left for their honeymoon the day after. Where daughter promptly fell snowboarding and broke her arm.
You got busted too! To funny.
Nicki, good for you for sending your resume. BBQ was ok. Didn't know anyone but the kid and he was busy playing with his co-workers. Did have a grand time going thru the model homes tho.
So did you pass your drivers test or have to retake it?
Vicki, I think I figured out why I have been waking up so early for the last week or so. I've been cold. Very odd for Sonora in July. Last night I woke up at 3:45, grabbed my robe from the foot of the bed and draped it over me. Went right back to sleep and didn't wake up till almost 6. It was a good thing. Dragging out an extra blankie tonight.
Odalys, haven't heard of that...looking it up.
Hmmm Medscape article says it got FDA approval in 2005, but another article says it didn't go into commercial use till Jan 2007. Found a pic of the machine too. Very odd looking. I am continuously blown away that insurance companies won't pay for this stuff. I'm not a financial wizard but it sure as heck seems to me that it would be far more cost effective to pay for early detection methods over treatment years down the -
ok thats very odd. Only part my post showed up?
heres the other bit.
down the road.
Liz, have a great time shopping. Hope you find the perfect dress. Yehaw were gonna have lunch with Gina.
Colleen, Warren will have a great time in Florida.
Good Morning Puppy, Shokk, Socal, Gina (can't wait to meet you), and Sue.
Time to put the get busy hat on. I'll see you all later. Have a splendid day one and all. -
Yes indeedee Shirley!
It is going to be fun! -
Karen, Puppy, Gina...Oh, all you darling ladies (and Peter)...sending out prayers and hugs My daughter's and I are going to help with Vacation Bible School at our church this week, so I might not be on the computer much.
Hope everyone is hanging in there....

Deb C -
Hi Vickie, I've been around, but not posting as much this weekend. I added a bunch of you to Myspace, I hope you accept! Shirley, I agree, let's make it back to what's it was intended, a place to meet and communicate with our friends. I have a couple of "questionable" profiles on mine because they are my brothers, sister, and niece. I use it to keep in touch with them. If you look at my "friends" I recommend not looking at "Party Monster". She is my niece and is seriously messed up. It's a long story, but I keep her there just so she knows I still care about her.
Karen, I am praying your surgery goes well and you do not have pain issues. I have been a chicken about getting recon because I am such a pain wimp and just don't want to go through any more.
Odalys, I hope that machine works out. I worry about my dd, Sarah. She has very large breasts and I dread her getting a mammogram. They told her she can wait a few more years (she's 19), but this sounds like it would be a good early screening.
Nicki, I hope the job works for you. Driving has got to make you crazy sometimes!
It's been a little cooler here than normal. I've enjoyed it. Spending lots of time at the pool since I'm still waiting to get some info on my classroom and classes for next year. Might as well enjoy as much of the rest of summer as I can.
I would love to be on an im program with you, but I don't have yahoo, just msn and aol. I'll see if I can get yahoo, but my ds, Joe, gets picky about extra programs I download. He says it slows down his game.
Back later. -
Good Morning/G'Nite Peter
OK, took notes this time and had to go get my glasses to read them!
(((Karen))) Prayers for you. Know you are in surgery now and pray for good results and little pain. I am glad you are going with the fix.
Vickie, was glad to hear Nate is ok. Thought it was beginning to sound a bit like appendicitis. Love the pics you post. Were the coyotes out? I love to hear them howling (in the distance of course!)
Nicki, you go girl! You will be great for the job and with less running around and close to home it will work well. Good Luck.
Shirley, 250 CDs!!!! WOW.
Mandy, you sound addicted to this already. Where in Alberta are you? I am in south central, only about an hour from the mountains. Did you stay seated while hubby did dishes? I love hearing mine doing them. I figure that I do most of the prep, etc it's ok for him to do the clean up.
Cheri, your are so nice and helpful.
Puppy, God is great in your life. Prayers are with you for an uneventful and successful surgery this week. I am going to the Women of Faith conference in August. Am really looking forward to that.
Peter, that was a lot of bull! lol. Very cute. Do you have sleep apnea because of your chest infection, or is that external? Hope your time off and meds get you feeling good soon.
Angel/Char, glad to see you feeling better. Drugs are good, bet daughter was proud of her game and thrilled to have you there for it.
Jankay, I agree, amen to sisters.. Liked your professional story!
Boo/Sue, Congrats to son. What does he play? How old is he. Great accomplishment.
Cheryl, glad you had fun at the party. Just started HP7, had to re-read HP6 to refresh my mind. Saw the HP5 movie when it was released, another well done.
Well ladies and Peter, it is getting warm, supposed to go to 98F/37C today so I am going golfing before it gets too hot.
Hugs and prayers to all
Lynn -
Hi all,
I'm busy getting ready for Pinkstock. Gotta lot of work to do. Heard "0" about the jobs as yet. that's ok, I keep coming up with more jobs to apply for. And a lot of it is me deciding the job isn't right for me too. I want to work just a few hours and get paid lots of money. LOL
Those jobs are hard to find.
Puppy, I'm praying for you girl. Karen, I don't know if your surgery is today, but I know it is soon. Good Luck hon.
Amy, sending you warm thoughts and hugs. If it gets to be too much go talk to Mazer. I'm sure she will be able to lend an ear.
Gina when are you done with chemo????????
Cheri, it's the sunglasses. You know I always look that good. NOT!!
As for the rest of you gorgeous gals and guy go out and have a great day.
xo
susan -
Happy Monday everyone!
I slept much better last night - thankfully! It has been very hot here (very unusual) those of you who are talking about the unusually cold weather? I know where your heat went!! I love it but it is hard to get much done - this weather is much easier when you're parked on the beach somewhere!
Nicki - can't see the mountians until you're about 2 hours away from them...but it's nice to be a short drive away for hiking or skiing!
Odalys - how do they "draw out the fluid" from the breast? Through the nipple? Sounds very promising - and I hope it gets approved soon!
Shirley - the only resaon I am cleaning like a woman possessed (or at least I will be once I get started!!) is because someone is actually moving into my house while I'm away! If we were leaving it empty, I'd just make sure there was no milk in the fridge and hit the road!! Oh well, the bright side is that I come home to a really clean house!
Karen - thinking of you and your surgery today (I know I don't "know" you like the other CG's but I am still thinking about you and sending you well wishes and positive energy)
Lynn - A fellow Albertan! I'm in Edmonton - are you in Calgary? You're only 1 hour away from the mountains how lucky!!
Well, I'd love to write more (I am VERY long winded) but really, this putting off the housecleaning is getting ridiculous! So, off I go...well, maybe just one more cup of coffee...
Mandy -
Susan I love your new picture!
To answer your question, I won't be done with chemo until some time in OCTOBER.
Mandy- I met you on the May Chemo thread. Welcome! -
Good late morning to all!
I swear someone moved the clocks ahead..........it is almost noon and guess what I've accomplished?????? Zilch! I take that back....I emptied the dishwasher, started a load of towels and cleaned my undie drawer out! Why is it that undie drawers hold like 50 pair of undies and I wear 8? Out they went.......so when I show up at Pinkstock bottomless, don't be alarmed!
For all the inquiring minds...........it was bread! Very interesting looking bread....Actually it didn't taste to bad ,actually it was quite good. Not to pretty but good! DH was a bachelor for ever until yours truly popped into his life, so he can cook pretty good.
Shirley: Yup, it was bread! A fly on the wall in my house would probably get so bored that he'd look for the fly swatter himself! Usually we are boring people.....but every now and again, the Man cracks me up! (still think the dryer was the best!)
How great is that, you and Liz are meeting Gina for lunch! Think you can kidnap her and bring her to MB's for the day?
Give her hugs from me!
Mandy: You crack me up girl! Yup, it was edible! It wasn't alive....but I swear the steak he cooked for himself was! and you don't even want to know what I named it!!!! It was some sort of poppyseed, onion, butter and god knows whatelse Bread!
FYI........We don't use the word "beans" around me! A couple weeks back everytime I turned around the DH brought another couple bags of "beans" in from his garden....wash, snap, blanch and freeze. I was doing it in my sleep! And guess what? Two big bags waiting for me right now! He did snap them sooooo..........Let me tell you, by the end of the season...I've got a good name for "beans!"
Puppy: Thinking of you daily and will be with you on Thursday. Love the thoughtful pics and prayers you post for us. I know you don't check mail daily....but there might be a little something there for you! Love ya!
Mandy: Back to you........where in the world are you going for 3 weeks?
Peter: Sound asleep after partying with the girls! Cheri was pretty rough on you I hear!
Marsha: Speaking of Peter.............a girl...........you're gonna be in trouble! Haven't heard much from you lately........still think you need to hop a plane and come to Pinkstock!
Karen: By now your surgery is probably over and you are resting. Know we were all with you and wishing you a speedy recovery. So glad you enjoyed your dinner with friends last night!
Charlene: You got busted!!!!! LMAO........Okay, you can keep Karl..but keep him you better! Change the spelling of his name to Carl and we have my Daddy's name!! So glad you are feeling better.......going to Audreys game.....you are a true Mother! Take it easy, dear...we love ya and don't want any set backs!
Had to laugh at Nicki's response to Karl when he busted you!!
Trisha: Always good to hear from you! So happy for you and glad to hear you're feeling great! Full time at work...you didn't take much of a leave!
DH question........Yes.........unfortunately I don't remember what the question was or why I said yes!!!! Glad you clarified your drug induced Gina post.......I was wondering who 'goma' was, and was really wondering WTH you said to her!!
Mandy: Again back to you........Gotta clarify Mountain time to me. One hour different then western time....(is that what you said?)...Hell, I still get confused with Daylight Savings time!! So if it is 12:15p right now, what time is it there? Yup, I'm blonde.........with a little help from my friends!
Be back in a few!
Hugs,
Denise -
I just signed up for Yahoo instant messanger. Haven't used it yet, don't have any names! I am listed as Sherndon6, so if anyone wants to add me, I'd love to.

Looks like Karen will be passing by this way too.

Hello everyone,
I had a very busy weekend. Had company from out of town and dd graduation party on Saturday. We had a lot of fun. Our guests left this morning and now have to catch up here and with work. Just scanned the posts and did not take notes so here goes.
Odalys - that machine sounds like something my son's lab is working on. They are working on a probe that can be used instead of the dreaded colonoscopy. It uses light to detect changes in the cells - supposed to be able to tell you if you will get cancer 10 years before a tumor forms. Then I guess they can monitor you so growths can be removed when very tiny and less likely to have spread. Went to the doc on Thursday and of course she wants me to have a colonoscopy. Told my son to hurry up with this probe thing - I believe they are doing phase I trials so maybe in the not too distant future (would be like a rectal thermometer and you would get the reading in a few minutes). They think they will be able to use it for other things as well.
Denise - loved your description of dh bread. Sounded yummy though.
Welcome to all the new girls.
Karen - hope your surgery went well today and you are resting comfortably now.
Shirley - beautiful dresses - you are so talented.
Boo/Sue - congrats to your son. So sorry about your fall - hope you are feeling better.
Puppy - you are in my prayers and ready for the magic carpet on Thursday - all will be well.
Amy - thinking of you.
DebC - sounds like you had a fun vacation. Love salmon and halibut - can't wait.
Charlene - glad to see you posting and that your surgery went well. Try to rest so that you heal well. Congrats to Audry on her game and fielding skills - that's awesome.
Tricia - sounds like you are busy - in a good way.
Cheri - so sorry Mork and Mindy have to go. Must be hard as you have had them for a while. We just have one little dog and he can be a handful so I can understand.
Jankay - I hope you have a better time of it this week.
Vicki - don't change a thing - don't understand what people have against nice people. So sick of hearing "she's too nice" or "he's too nice". WTH. Personally, I like nice people. Glad to hear Nate is feeling better.
Susan - good luck on the job hunt. I think about changing jobs but that is as far as it goes.
Gina - you get to meet Shirley and Liz - how cool. Lots of people meeting people going on.
Well went to my doc on Thursday and besides being told I need the dreaded colonoscopy (wonder if there was a write up in a medical journal or something - seems everyone's doc is recommending one)I also had my cholesterol checked. Got a call on Friday - need to go on medication for that. Most likely it is a side effect of the Arimidex. Just love it - take one med to counter the side effects of another. I have to be thankful though so far this is the first side effect that I have had and August 1 it will be one year down who knows how many to go.
Okay - I haven't even checked yet how far behind I am with my work, must start getting things ready for Pinkstock which is like in 10 days -yikes!!! So much to do and so little time.
Good day to all from A to Z.
Hugs,
Suz -
Janice, dumb me--you are already on my friends. Duh!
-
Denise, I am not going anywhere glamorous like Tuscany or Greece or anything...just heading to the interior of British Columbia (Naramata to be exact) we have rented a house in a vineyard overlooking Lake Okanogan - it's wonderful! If I am not emptying the contents of my stomach after chemo tomorrow, then we will probably go to Vancouver for a week first (love that city) - if I feel lousy, then we will go to the mountains instead (Panorama to be exact) we are driving so it all depends on my nausea!
As for the time zones - I haven't heard of Western time - I think North America (and Mexico too, maybe) are all in the same time zones...beginning on the west coast working east - Pacific, then Mountain, then Central then Eastern then Atlantic in the maritimes in Canada. So, if you're on Eastern time and it is 12:15 there, it would be 10:15 here. (We're two hours behind you)
Gina - nice to see you - you haven't been on the May chemo board for awhile - actually we started that thread with over 30 "members" and are down to about 6 that regularly post now...I really hope all the other May starters are doing very well! I hope all is well with you too! I can see that there is no shortage of posts on this thread!
Well, my house in not ANY cleaner but I did read a few more chapters in my book "The Time Traveller's Wife" I really need a kick in the ass to get going!!! I am NOW going to start in the bathroom...really...I am.. -
Mandy,
At your request I'm sending you this 'chick' to help you get cleaning!
Hugs,
Denise -
I love having the day at home.......sure with I'd do more than just waste it!
Nicki: Good for you!! Sending in your resume!! Sounds like that job would be perfect for you! Wanted to let you know that I went to the Orchard down the road from me yesterday and picked up a flyer just for you..............They are having a PIG ROAST in Sept. Come stay with me and we can walk on over to it!
Still busting my brain on a way to get you to Pinkstock!
Sheri: Hey to you....enjoy the summer, you'll be back in the classroom before you know it!
Brenda: Thank you for all the well wishes for those of us attending Pinkstock!! Can't wait!
Liz: Yes...It was bread.. He scared me when he said "it isn't rising like it should"...........damn, thought I was in for a looooong night! Retail Therapy..amazing how that works! And a double good, cuz it's keeping you out of the bathroom for the day!
Boo: You're posting pics! If I can catch on.....anybody can! Congrats to your Son and Congrats to you for a very talented Son!
Cheri: What's this about Mork and Mindy? I must have missed the post....where are they going? Sounds like you had some party this weekend!! Poor Peter....you whooped him up good! I'm gonna try this My Space thing....god only knows with me........probably end up on some porn site!
Margaret: Did I answer you earlier? Yup, it was bread! Why did I think you were going to Pinkstock? Guess it was just wishful thinking! 5 years to retirement....then a house on the golf course! I don't have a retirement so I guess I just quit when I'm ready!! I'm ready now.....DH doesn't seem to think I'm ready..........but, what the hay..He still gets to work for 4 or 5 years!!!!
JanKay: Good day to you! Therapy this week? You'll do fine...I think you have made great progress since I've met you!!
Odalys: I have not heard of the Halo breast Pap Tests..but it sure sounds interesting. Think I'll Google it and read up on it. Why don't insurance Co's look at the whole picture. A couple hundred now or half a million a few years down the road! URGH.....they make me so mad!!
I saw on the news this morning a clip that will be on World News Tonight with Charles Gibson.....something about "positive attitudes and Breast Cancer..does it really help"
Hope to remember to watch it.
Colleen: You okay? Warren will have a great time in Florida with Grandma...........do you have any plans?
Vickie: Glad Nate is feeling better! And I'm glad that you are laughing over Mr. Yucky Pants..(boy, that sounded like I'm 3!) The right one is out there Sweetie.........when you least expect it! (and no, I'm not bringing him to Pinkstock to surprise you!)
Deb: Welcome home....only to get ready to leave again! I haven't been to the MI site..so don't know if any of the girls are planning on lunch or not. Let me know what you want to do!
Madison: Still on the road? You've been a traveling lady this summer! A few more days and you'll be jetting off to New York..........can't wait to meet you!
Susan: When you find that job, will you let me know, please? Exactly what I want, few hours, big bucks..but I prefer to not have to leave home to do it! I still see the old you on the avatar!!
Suz: Sounds like DD's party went great! Companies gone and you can reclaim your house! The dreaded colonoscopy.....I think the Onc's are getting a kick back from all the Butts they refer for one! I'm gonna try and get the guts to schedule one when I see my Onc in August. Key work..try! I like the sound of the new Probe.......maybe I'll hold off till that comes out! Actually, it isn't the test or the prep....it's the findings that scare me..Go Figure! My Cholesterol has sky rocketed as well. I was suppose to have it re-checked mid June..Oops..guess it will be Mid July! Actually, planning on doing it tomorrow...if I get out of here early enough in the morning. Like you, One more Medicine to counteract what another medicine is doing!
Mandy: Renting a house in a vineyard over looking a lake! Sounds wonderful to me! Hope the Chemo doesn't give you the yucks.......relax and enjoy, sounds like a beautiful place!
Thanks for the lesson in Time Zones!! People who know me soon realize that if I so much as turn around while standing I don't know where I am! Oh, I'm such a clever person!! (not!)
Shokk, Gus, Pam, Z, Peter, (brain dead.),.....from A to Z, hope all is good with you!
Hugs,
Denise -
Denise - that looks like a chick who could take a round out of me - thanks!
I have now cleaned my bathroom (Hallelujah sings a chorus of cleaning angels!!) Now, I've just got the other bathroom, the kitchen, scrub the floors, clean my bedroom, wash the bedding and the rest of the laundry, vacuum, dust, weed my garden, shopping, bloodwork and the oncologist this afternoon, pop into work to check messages and e-mails...all before tomorow at 2:15! So what the heck am I doing on this board you ask????? Good questions - I'm outta here! (See you in a couple of hours! )
Mandy -
geez Denise...can't ya just find me one for the weekend LOL. You are so funny.
Mandy!! I was going to order The Time Travelers Wife today! Is it as good as I suspect it is?
Hi Suz...hope your having as good a day as your weekend was.
Gina...oh I so wish I were coming to NY...so close but yet so far! Funny how many people think that if you live in NY you live in NY City! Sending you hugs.
Shokk...missed ya this weekend...big hugs...
Hmmm...I'm thinking MB is buried under piles of work!
ok...boss back...gotta run or I'll need a streetcorner and a tin cup!
Love and hugs to all
Vickie -
Good afternoon everybuddy. Back to normal around here. The boys are home and back from their dads, Amber shut down the party week-end and is back to Mama and at work, my dh just left to go back on the road so I'm babysitting with my gs and all is well. Sorta. I've already been 9 weeks in this cast and getting a bit tired of it, hoping the 2nd will show i'm healing. It danged well better after I quit my beloved cigarettes so this foot/leg/ankle would heal better.
Puppy, nice to see you posting. When is your surgery again? Thank you for asking about my foot, I appreciate it. Hopefully, it'll be worth all the driving out of state to see a surgeon.
Margaret, so your a Myspace lurker. It's actully alot of fun, especially the decorating. I've been on there since about Feb. or Mar. but I hadn't done much to it until all my friends started joining. Come on along and join us. It really is alot of fun. My dd has had it for years and I thought it was mostly a kid thing but there's thousands of adults on there. You know how to find us.
Charlene, you are quite the trooper. I'm such a big baby that I wouldn't be out and about for a long time. Ahem...kinda like now. You make me laugh, too, such a clever girl you are. Audry has my middle name too, it is also Lynn.
Nickie, tried your Myspace and couldn't get it so I sent an invite to your email, then I read Shirleys post and she fixed your url so I added you.
Karen, hope the Magic Carpet ride wasn't too rough this morning. I usually just make everyone wrap in bubble wrap but we had you, Charlene and Nicki who gets motion sick, so I only loop d loop a couple times. Hope all is going well and it's probably all over now. So you made it just fine. Did you feel us holding your hand?
Sheri, never apoligize for your 'friends'. Shoot, I've got my own daughter on there and her profile is quite risque' but I'm not worried about who sees it. I have several people on there that's not from here. People here just started taking an interest except for me, Vickie, Shirley, Cy and I don't know how long you been on. Also, I sent you an invitation to join me on Yahoo IM. You said you'd downloaded it. We'll have that contact list filled before you know it.
Lynn, wow another post, that's great.
Suzola, surprised to see a post from you but glad about it. Sounds like you're busy getting ready for Pinkstock. I know you'll have a ball. Maybe it is the sunglasses on the avatar cos it sure doesn't look you to me. I'll ask Christine what she thinks.
Denise, I never get anything done. I get up fix me some tea, and then instead of lighting that cigarette that I still want badly, I crawl inside my computer screen and travel all over the web. Although, days like this when I'm babysitting I have to stay on this side of the screen. My dh just picked a bunch of beans for me to fix up. I thought of you, but luckily we didn't plant many so I'll cook up a big mess of them, ok-Amber will cook them, and maybe have a few to freeze for just a week or so.
Suz, it's a shame I have to get rid of my big ole pups but I don't really have a choice. They deserve that individual attention I just can't provide right now. I don't mind splitting up Mork & Mindy at all, because Mork is mean to her and won't let her eat and we have to watch to make sure she gets to eat, so she's my favorite. Always for the underdog.
Mena, I know you been hanging around, you said you'd be in and out so where are you? Come out and play little playmate. That's if you haven't spent...uh...too much time at the drinking tent. Ooops. did I say too much, dear? hahahah TAG, you're IT!
Marsha, where are you on here today? Humm?
Jazz, getting worried about you. Hope you're not sick.
Gina, nice to see you hangin round.
Vickie, hey my friend hope you hear about the new job soon.
Wishing all of you from Amy to Z a beautiful day.
