how about drinking?

Hi friends- happy New Year from Santa Fe. We have had such fun up here the past few days and wrapping up here this morning and heading back to ABQ for some lunch and then taking my friend to the airport for her mid afternoon flight. Really great experience being up here for the New Year, I would do this again. Holidays are over and back to reality now friends.
New Years resolutions? Less rehashing of the past in my mind and with others, both recent history or longer term. Keeps one stuck in places you don't wanna be anymore.....
A friend who is a psychologist and coach posted something on her biz page recently about listing 5 things that you are grateful for or that brought you joy? Mine are 1) grateful for better vision 2) grateful to have my home paid off 3) grateful to have consistent contract work through 2019 4) grateful for time with my nephew this past fall and 5) grateful for some really excellent holiday things end of this year, both with self care and family.
New Years goals? Still working on those. I always create a list for the new year with things I want to do or work on. Everything from work, finances, relationships, travel goals, plan for the home, etc. Still working to finish those but will be able to get that wrapped up by this week. I am someone who has always need a goal and a plan to go with it to create the life I want.
Cami- I can't believe it either. We are heading in to the roaring 20s again. Well heck, I liked the fashion from the 1920s, hope I will like it this coming year. I don't see flapper dresses making a come back though? I was thinking the other day it seems like it was y2K and we were all preparing for the new millennium. Now here we are 20 years in? I think many of us are hoping for a really good 2020. And wow, Joey is shaving!
Chi- sounds like a nice holiday for you. I think you would have liked the place we went for dinner last night. My friend had filet mignon and she said it was one of the best she has ever had. I had stuffed trout (not a red meat eater) and that was my best choice for fish. Delicious blue crab cakes for the app, wonderful pecan torte for desert. We did a split of gruet rose and it was perfect for our meal.
Okay ladies, time to get bags to the car, check out and get heading south soon. Hope your day today is relaxing and wishing the best to those who have to finish out the work week. Tomorrow is my first day of freedom (for a bit) as I finished my contract this past Monday. Time to get busy working on my next gig (already some things in progress).
Happy New Year to my wonderful BCO friends! Here is to sharing more of our adventures in 2020!

Happy New Year & New Decade to all! Just polishing off the last couple glasses of Moet et Chandon, to which I add a little Chambord. Yum! Watching PBS program From Vienna: The New Year's 2020, which is a tradition. Happy to be starting out this decade as a retiree (retired 11/29/19).
-
Happy 2020. Here’s to a year of good health and all things good! Actually 2020 is the last year of the decade. New decade starts next year 2021! I don’t make resolutions, but I continue to try to be my best self!

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Thirsty Thursday! I was off line due to going in to work early to cover the 7 to 3 shift for a couple of days and having my internet connection knocked out by the snow yesterday. I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's! I ended up not going to the Murder Mystery Dinner, my road was just too slippery to justify going out for a party into the wee hours. So disappointed, but there will be others, right? Sadie and I rang in the new year early with cocoa and cuddles in bed.
Goldie--the drama at work just keeps rolling on, so glad I don't have to play that game anymore. I do have a couple people mad at me cuz I won't do the go-between thing and flat out said so. Spent the next couple hours getting glared at, it was soo funny lookingback on it! Definitely have 'me' time set up, learned that lession!
Jazzy--Healthcare does seem to attract drama, sometimes I think it's an outlet for the emotional stress of taking care of other people and seeing people in pain and with poor health and dying. Who knows? And we do prefer that sick family members visit by phone, colds, flu, RSV, norovirus, they all spread through facilities and assisted living homes like wild fire. Still praying for all of your family.
Definitely my hardest decade to day, the 2010's. I am grateful to have made it through, and a bit surprised at how well I've done overall despite bc and everything else. Here's to a better decade to come!
Librarian--You had a truly eventful decade, that's for sure! May the next be more fun!
Janky--wow, you have been busy, but it sounds like a very fun busy!Good for you!
Teka--I love your "note to self"! Hugs. BTW--tired and busy is a normal state of affairs for many people.
Chi--Happy New Year to you and yours!
Jazzy--so pretty!
Cammy Cat--Happy New Year hiccups to you, too!Funny about your hubby getting drunk just saying "hello" to everyone! Licorice is a good taste for just about anything in my book. Oh my, Joey using an electric razor? He has grown up so much. And your granddaughter promoted to manager! And I love the Happy New Year Berry Cocktail!
Goldie--the ladies in the red hats remind me of the trip my aunts took my grandmother on that included a visit to a strip club, AND a second trip to the club initiated by my then 80 year old grandmother!
Librarian--what is Hoppin John? I love hearing about holiday traditions.
Jazzy--Glad you had a wonderful New Years with your friend. Ooh, that meal sounds so tasty, yumm!I wonder what fashion will bring in the new Roaring 20's. Not sure I can pull off a flapper dress, but it might be fun to try.
Happy New Year, Celia! Happy first full year of retirement!
Morning, Karen! Happy New Year, and almost new decade!

1 1⁄2 oz Honeydew-basil-white balsamic shrub*
Prosecco, to float
Lemon wedge, to rim glass
Basil salt (chopped fresh basil combined with coarse salt), to rim glass

Rub the lemon wedge on half of the outside of a coupe glass, coat with the basil salt mixture and set aside.

Double-strain into the prepared coupe glass.

Mornin ladies,
Wow some of u really had a great time and that's wonderful. Then there are the rest of us Lori, I think I fell asleep on and off all night, that''s why I get up so early too. But I end up napping during the day too.
Celia and Karen it's great to see u here wishing you a super New Year.
Jazzy always sorry to hear these things about ur DS partner, hoping they keep her pain down as much as possible, So sad.
JC never heard of cornbread etc. Is that a family or southern tradition. And good for u, u won at cards and stayed up. Not as easy as it sounds.
Joey went downtown <Chicago> last nite that kid knows more about Chicago then I ever did and I worked Downtown for 2 years, and lived there when I was young and then when my mom and aunt went there to shop we'd walk so I guess it wasn't to far. Well I didn't walk I was pushed with something that had wheels.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Oh it took me so long, I missed u Kim. I'm glad ur standing up for urself, u went thru a lot of chit to learn that lesson. How can anyone get mad at u, on't worry it won't last. And I'm sorry u missed the Mystery party, I was looking forward to hearing about it. But if roads are bad stay in for sure. Have a good one.

Collard greens are slow cooked in bacon, chicken broth, a little white vinegar and sugar. In the South, they symbolize money in the New Year. Hoppin’ John is black eyed peas, rice and chopped ham. The peas are for good luck. The cornbread is from a mix and is used to sop up the pot liquor from the greens. There is hot sauce in everything. Not a healthy meal, but good once a year. I will use the rest of the Christmas ham to make ham and bean soup next week. Trying to eat healthy, but gotta get rid of the bad stuff first.
My team lost last night. Boo! I will get to go to bed earlier tonight. Yea! That staying up until after midnight is hard anymore. Sounds like everyone welcomed the New Year in a good way. I look forward to getting back into my routine and making some plans for adventures.
Take care all -
Happy New Years friends! I wrote a longer post but accidentally closed the window and lost it. Sigh.
CeliaC- congrats on your retirement. Any big plans for travel, volunteer work, or a fun PT job? It's nice to be able to decompress for awhile too.
Karen- I like your goal to be your best self in the new year. I am with you on that one.
Cami- you have never heard of cornbread? Girl you are missing out......
NM- I am sorry you could not attend your party due to the weather. I predict there will be many more fun things to attend in 2020.
JCS- I am working today to get back in to my routines as well as getting a long list of to dos started after being on contracts for the past 18 months with little break. Sorry your team lost, boo!
Visit finished up well yesterday with my friend who went back mid-afternoon and had to go to work today. I am free of work for a bit after finishing my latest gig on Monday and getting a bit of space to finish some end of the year business activities, some home things addressed, tax stuff started and working on new opps for 2020. I took a big nap when I got home and slept a lot last night too. I hope to get to the pool today to resume my swimming a couple times a week that I had a break from again after the last eye surgery. And I got the initial confirmation paperwork that my loan has been completed, yay!
Have a great Thursday one and all!

Time for a bit of new years jazz. Enjoy!

Good morning, Loungettes!Happy TGIF day! Going to be an interesting weekend, I'm on call and already working Sunday day shift, wondering if I'm going to end up working Saturday as well. We'll see. Got time off lined up either way, Monday off for Sunday, Tuesday off if I work Saturday, too.Sadie will not be happy with me away over the weekend, I'll have to find a way to make it up to her.
Cammy Cat--I don't worry about the people getting mad at me, I figure if I don't make at leastone personmad at me most days I'm not doing my job! And you are right, it blows over pretty quickly.
Librarian--That meal sounds very good, if not healthy. I think a good, UNhealthy meal is necessary from time to time to maintain balance in life. Sorry your team lost.
Jazzy--I'm disappointed about missing the Murder Mystery Dinner, but there is a sip and paint evening coming up next week, and that's just the beginning of 2020. I'm sure I'll find another Murder Mystery Dinner before the year is out. Maybe the same place will do it again next New Years!Congrats on the official notice of no more mortgage!!!

Mornin ladies,
TGIF is right Kim. Oh u might have to work, I don't like that, but u know what ur doing and so does Sadie, so OK. The DOTD looks great today.
JC thanks for explaining the recipe. That really sounds southern. Staying up past midnite WOW I don't know how u do it and keep doing it. Good for you.
Miss Jazzy cornbread was the only thing I knew and one thing I do is make a fantastic cornbread casserole. I'm sure everyone has pretty much the same recipe, mine has sour cream in it. And u can't fault any recipe with sour cream.U really had a good year and accomplished what u wanted to. Congrats on that one.
Celia it just came to me reading Jazzy's post that u retired. That to me has so many mixed emotions. Just relax and enjoy and when u feel like it do what u like to do.
Dan came by to pay me, at first I said pay me what u think I'm worth, then I stopped him and told him NO I'd owe him money. Anyway plus my pay he always gives me a 50.00 gift cert. cuz he knows I'm addicted, I love to shop on line the last couple of years, it's like a slot machine to me.
OK have a good day everyone.

JCS, I love greens, just not real good at cooking them, even tho easy. Can't ever get the right taste I'm looking for. I'll try your recipe. I do use bacon grease and chicken stock, I'll have to try adding some of the vinegar and sugar.
Celia, congrats on the retirement. Are you enjoying it, or too soon to tell?
Hi Karen, I'm with you, no resolutions and always try to be the best I can be.
NM, bummer to mist the murder mystery dinner, but better to be safe and YES, there will be others. Well, just let those people glare, they will get over it and maybe learn to not even ask! Too funny about grandma being taken to a strip club! Quite the New Year cocktail with flaming lime. I'm hoping that is a lime in the bottom of the glass!
Cami, Joey can't be shaving, he still has that "baby face" look. Just tell him to stop growing up! Your comment about about being young and being pushed around Chicago with something with wheels. So we get pushed around in a stroller when little, and then a wheel chair when we are older! Cornbread casserole? What else is in it, or is it basically a recipe for cornread? It always makes me smile to see how good Dan is to you. Shows how much he loves you.
Jazzy, congrats again on getting the house paid off. And now that you are done with this last gig, time for a new one. Do you have to go out and find them or do they find you?
Made it to Moab, checked in and then went over to our friends house and had taco's. Not sure what we are doing today, probably nothing. Mike (our friend) has a doctor appt. at 1 this afternoon and I know Sunday we are heading to have dinner with his mom at her assisted living home. She is so sweet, but I guess gets pretty ornery, but Mike told me she has always been a biotch. 93 years old and just quick working 3 years ago keeping books for a business. I'll come back and edit to add a picture of her, holding an 8x10 picture of the bobcat (Bobbie) that hangs out at Mikes, up in the mountain. This is the 3rd year he has returned.
Edited to remove photo.

Good morning ladies- here we are at Friday again, how did that happen again so fast? Oh I know, a mid-week holiday.
Got a lot of things done yesterday with my finances, end of year tax stuff, and started some working around a 30 day home de-cluttering calendar I found on line and brought to the bco decluttering thread. Lots of fun ideas there and now I have created my own custom calendar as a result. Basically taking a cabinet, drawer or other space per day and getting it cleaned out, and some things donated. So far, I have gone through my utensil drawer (hot mess) and glass and coffee mug cabinets (too many misc mugs and some need to go). I did a lot of work on the closets this year again, but other areas need more attention (especially my paperwork, garage, etc.) I am on a mission.
Cami- how nice you still have money coming in and a $50 gift cert too. Do tell us what goodies you find on line with that cash?
NM- sounds like you are covering a lot of night and weekend shifts. I expect that may be more with the holiday period which is now wrapping up. I hope you don't end up having to work the odd shifts longer term. That is for the young people!
Hope everyone has a good slide in to the weekend. I am getting all my Xmas stuff put away now (which is minimal by design....)

Hi, everyone, and Happy New Year! Been busy just doing activities of daily living (ADLs, as Bob's fellow residents used to say back in the day--which is what they did in what little downtime they had. Residency programs are so different today--but as the pay is higher, days are shorter and call schedules less brutal, the programs are longer).
We were down two guests on NYE--my housekeeper & her DH, who had syncope after his dialysis session so they had to stay home. It was a nice dinner, though--I "cheated" with cornmeal-crusted oysters Rockefeller, and then rack of lamb with broccoli & potato gratin galette (which latter item I left over). We were all too full for dessert. And Gordy surprised us by Ubering home from work (they let him off early) and meeting us at Cellars! Wines at dinner were Charles de Fere Cuvee Jean-Louis cremant de Bourgogne, and then 2016 Arrowwood Cab. Sauv. (Sonoma). At home, we opened the aforementioned Mumm Napa Grande Annee 2007, which was released only last year ("late-disgorged"), and it was awesome. One dinner guest brought asst'd. baklavas from Middle East Bakery, and they were wicked good.
New Year's Day Bob had to work, but we made it to friends' open house party one neighborhood south (I met her at a winemaker dinner, and it turns out her DH recently retired as an ENT surgeon at Advocate Christ and knows Bob). Ran into an old friend there whose sister--a pal of mine from the Barbarossa folk bar since 1980--passed away in 2001; plus, around the piano, a fellow singer-songwriter. Amazing house--a brick center-hall Colonial mansion one story up from the street with giant open-plan kitchen/dining room and two "parlors," plus the living room (containing a fireplace & the aforementioned piano) up the stairs. The party was catered. I actually was able to stay keto. DOTD there was a little Chandon Brut (we brought a bottle of Contratto, an Italian brut zero we got at the La Spinetta wine dinner at RPM Steak). Had to leave early (9:30p) as Bob had an early day yesterday at Union Health, and a late night at Advocate Christ--he needs a couple of wind-down hours before he can sleep. At home I opened the other bottle of bubbles (Mumm DVX 2008), which we had with assorted caviars: the little sevruga "shot" I bought at Heathrow (which got me pulled over and my bags searched by Customs before the supervisor chewed out the trainee officer); plus salmon and golden whitefish roe. Took a carb blocker so I could enjoy them on whole-wheat crackers,
Yesterday, with trepidation I got on the scale: 158-1/4! (Down from 211 in April). Goal is getting close, but I may keep going until I plateau. So with Bob staying overnight in Oak Lawn, I "konmari-ed" my underwear drawers, tossing stuff that no longer fit or I didn't need. Then went power-shopping: at Nordstrom, I bought Spanx--I had avoided them while fat, but truthfully they're just as hard to pull on now. Got a "torsette," which slims my middle while letting me wear my own bra--but if I go out in it I will have to take an extra pantyliner: it's supposed to be worn commando, and it has a split crotch. No way I am wriggling out of it in a public restroom--it would require I take all my clothes off, which ain't gonna happen. Also bought two compression camisoles. I discovered high-waist shaper panties are not for me: the waistband always rolls down.
Then I hit the shoe sale at Macy's (4 cute pair) and cruised the aisles at Burlington Coat Factory. The quality there isn't as good as at TJ Maxx, Marshall's or Nordstrom Rack, but I still found some steals: a size suedecloth cardigan fluttter-lapel jacket with faux-shearling cuffs, leopard-print short blazer, animal-print & gray sweatshirt (with matching gray leggings, which I'm not even gonna try wearing), compression shorts for the gym, and a beige suedecloth button-down shirt. The cardigan jacket and shorts were size L, but everything else was a M! Considering a year ago I was in 18/20 and 2X...
Bob got home early, so we're going out for dinner--gonna find a nice seafood joint.
-
So we went out to Oceanique in Evanston. We had the tasting menu with the "Premier" (middle-echelon) wine pairings. Started with a Piper Heidseck blanc de noirs brut. Then, with a lobster salad, an old-vine Chablis (mostly tank-fermented). With seared scallops & kimchi, Sancerre. Then with butternut squash ravioli, Puligny-Montrachet (oaked). With whitefish in a port reduction, a Santenay (southern Burgundy, Pinot Noir). With seared veal & foie gras, Amarone di Valpolicella. Finally with dessert, a 5-putttonyo (almost the sweetest) Tokaj frorm Hungary.

Just a quick poop in before starting work. Wish I was still in bed cuddling with Sadie. DOTD is coffee

Mornin ladies,
Oh Jazzy u are a force to declutter with such organization. Jeez I can't declutter one room anymore and I could use blueprints and it still wouldn't work. But the word that describes u is determination, well one of the words, but they r all good.
Lori that's one thing Joey won't listen to me about, he's getting so old and I vividly remember his sweet little boy time. well he's still sweet but not little. Oh cornbread thingy, it's so simple and if u like cornbread it's great. sour cream, butter, eggs, 1 can cream corn and 1can reg. corn drained and of course Jiffy cornbread mix. I make double just throw them all together and bake. easy peasy. Not diet food that's for sure.
Wow Sandy u do more in a couple of days than I do all week. And a big Congrats on ur great weight loss, u really r under control and still having fun. Well I guess it can be done, u made it sound good tho. Glad to hear Gordy went too. Does Bob feel like retiring soon??? He still works a lot.
Well Kim ur really running this morning. Hope ur day is good.

Happy Saturday! The rain has moved in and the world here is grey and wet. Hopefully that will change after today. My friend I go to the mountains with and is stuck in Pittsburgh with her broken kneecap had surgery yesterday. They were able to pin and wire the kneecap, so she will have full mobility. She will have to stay in Pittsburgh for two weeks of rehab before returning to Columbia, SC. I have to go to a funeral today for a high school friend of my husband’s. He had a bad stroke about a year ago. While he did regain his speech somewhat and was kinda mobile, there were other issues. I will miss hearing him drive by the house on his loud, but tasteful Harley motorcycle.
Started another cycle of chemo yesterday. Next week are the bone scan and CT scan. Then I meet with the MO to hear the results. I gave him a couple of articles supporting a break from chemo for a few months. Also some information about supplements I am currently taking. I need to work on a healthier diet (better foods and cooking techniques) and cutting white refined sugar. Habits are hard to break once we get older!
I alsoneed to work on closets, drawers, etc. to do the annual purge I did not do last year. LOL! Maybe after the tests next week. You all do inspire me to be better at the things I need to do. Keep those DOTD and cat memes coming!
-
Good morning friends- day #3 of freedom and enjoying it! Yesterday I got working on some things around a replacement Social Security card, renewing my passport, etc. in preparation for a few things coming up, including a license renewal with Real ID requirements. Well, and I need the passport updated too for my plans to go to Ireland later this year.
The hospital here where I had my bc surgery offers free yoga classes a couple times a week, think I shared this with you long ago and I had been able to get to a Friday class for awhile which is one of my favs. I had not been since the short break between my last two gigs in late March to early April. Everyone there was surprised and pleased to see me, including the yoga instructor and the class was full with many people back. It was one very happy yoga class, and it made me realize how much I have missed this class and my local bc sisters!
Cami- that cat cracks me up. I have never poked a cat and had it turn out well. Joey doesn't listen to you? Teenager stuff.
Goldie- the work can come several ways, I pursue it or it finds me. I love that photo of the woman with the bobcat, I remember seeing the pic on your FB posts too. He looks like he could be a pet/dog, but wildlife is well, wild right? The woman in the pic is adorable.
Chi- I bet it feels so good to see yourself so far down in sizes. I love being able to shop after loosing weight. I bet you must feel really great and getting lots of compliments about your new look? Your current weight is a goal weight for me too, and you are inspiring me. I am starting the South Beach Phase 1 (cleansing) diet on Monday, which my doctors have always approved for me and do well with it. The Phase 1 is a great cleansing regime after the holidays to get the junk out of your system post holiday. I have no social events the next two weeks so it is a good time to do this very strict phase. It helps to jump start the weight loss too. You go girl, you make us proud!
JCS- in 2013, six months after I started aromatase inhibitors, my blood sugar went over the line to make me diabetic. My PCP had already put me on 500 mg of metformin, but it got pushed up to a full 1000. I was shocked when this happened (more changes to my health six months out of primary bc treatment), but made the decision to go cold turkey on sugar. Now, what I know is that sugar is in just about everything (just like salt) but I gave up cookies, candy, cakes, sweet breads, etc. The first three months were hard and my PCP said "wow, most people won't do that" but my mother had diabetes and saw where it goes. Anyways, after the detoxing those few months with no sugar (and that was over the end of year holidays), I felt much better. Years later, I allow myself to have a bit here and there for special occasions but in general, it is not something that is part of my regular life. You don't have to go cold turkey, just start giving one thing up at a time based on things that may be part of your more every day life.
NM- I hope your work day goes/went well and that you can get to some rest and cuddle time with Sadie. She must be lovely to come home to?
For those of you interested in de-cluttering challenge, here is the calendar I posted on the de-cluttering thread. I have already cleaned out my wallet, purse, one cabinet, one drawer and got a list of things to do today. As I reorganize, some things get thrown out or put into bags and/or bags for donations.

...or hire a “stager,” pay her, and then tell her you’ve decided not to sell after all...
I did fall off the wagon last night, but except for dessert (my first since London) it wasn’t very far. The two butternut squash ravioli were small, the pasta made in-house, and there was more veg than starch. None of the other courses had starches, just protein & veggies. Small but satisfying portions. We did make the tactical mistake of both doing the wine pairings, which were all 5-oz pours. But you know me by now: if I’m done eating a food paired with wine, I’m done with that wine too. Bob did help me a bit (he wasn’t driving), but in front of me by the end of the meal was a line of “half-dead soldiers” (shoulda taken a pic). It did nearly kill me to leave over—among the others—half a glass of real Champagne, but seeing as how I’ve represented more than my share of DUI defendants...Next time we will share a single wine pairing and get the top-flight wines (what we had was the middle of the pack).
Cami, that must be one helluva bird or “video catnip” for that kitty not to notice being poked. Either of mine would rip my fingers off. Speaking of cats, my little black princess Heidi is being a fussbudget again: she is turning her nose up at anything not out of a freshly opened can. But she ate like a mini-horse all week, so I guess it balances out. Happy of course is like “Mikey” on the old cereal commercials...a furry little in-sink-er-ator. (Until he decides to bring it back up—TMI, I know).
DOTD today is black coffee and water: lots of both. Making salmon tonight, but will Coravin Bob a glass and stick with water myself.
-
My cat would get in this position every time she saw anything resembling a camera. She was a rescue cat and I thought maybe she was used for porno.

Mornin ladies,
Wow this stuff doesn't inspire me to declutter anything. Doesn't anyone here just think oh it's good enough???That's always been my mantra <I don't know if I used the right wo.rd> LOL I'm happy if I make it to the bathroom. And this is my type of weather, I like gloomy overcast days. Theyare soothing to me, especially rain. Wow I sound bitchy today, but no one's up yet so I haven't been around anyone so I'm not sure. I found 2 more presents I forgot about, I know there r still some missing but they'll turn up.
JC ur going thru a lot now but u never sound like it. U have a great attitude and lots of energy. I enjoy listening about ur week. Well reading about it.
Sandy how can u be in restaurants so often and diet, that has to be so hard. I mean all u have to do is order and limiting urself would be so hard. I give u a lot of credit for sure. And especially around the Holidays.
Jazzy ur also so organized so that has to mean ur brain is very compartmental. now that's something to envy. My brain is like a monkey playing a symbol and a dog scratching a blackboard all at the same time.
OK that's it.

Hi ladies- happy Funday Sunday. I was out early today to get all my food for the week to start South Beach tomorrow. I also got reminded that it is not inexpensive to do Phase 1, but some of the things I got will also last in to week #2. I was looking for some canadian bacon and got into a chat with a young woman about this cleansing diet and she said she was doing the same. Turns out she has lost 100 lbs!
I got a lot of deep cleaning and decluttering done yesterday but need to finish some things in the kitchen with the cleaning company coming tomorrow. Leaving the regular stuff for them, but I have the kitchen sort of torn apart right now on a few fronts. A couple cabinets done, drawers too, the fridge and more. The back of my Subaru is filled with things to go to donations this week.
A friend contacted me yesterday to go see a movie at one of the local nature center spots on crows. Really interesting, and learned they are wintering birds here which I never knew. I saw a bunch roosting in the trees at dusk up at the hot springs over Xmas and learned that is what they do at dusk. We also saw lots of sandhill cranes yesterday that are wintering birds here as well, and a beautiful western bluebird. That is your bird education from NM today and you are welcome.
Cami- some pets are shameless with their behavior. My sister had a husky that would do that, especially when other dogs came around. I bet NM's Miss Sadie doesn't do that! And you can leave things as they are where you are, I get that too!
JCS- prayers for good outcomes on those upcoming scans.
Chi- I am off the alchohol and doing lots of water, some coffee in the morning. I have to move from regular milk to skim milk tomorrow and never much fun. South Beach wants you to do decaf for two weeks but no way. I do fine with the rest and having my morning cuppa Joe. Sounds like you are getting back in to your regular diet habits now too?
NM- did you make it through your Saturday shift?
Time to get working on the house for awhile until I go swimming......

Mornin' ladies,
Well busy Jazzy , don't u ever stop!!! Everyone is supposed to have a day of rest. Well since I have mutiplied mine I guess I make up for most of you. But u did accomplish ALOT plus u watched some interesting bird stuff. When u get a "crew" in what do they do??? I mean u seem to do so much so I don't understand exactly how this works BTW Sandy that was a clever idea about getting a house staged. Is that what they kind of do. Just curious. I really like the idea of the swimming part tho and good u stayed out of it for a while, way to many germs.
Here we go ladies a boring subject, just skip right over . When I was young nothing was open on Sunday, except the newspaper place, but just in the morning. Of course no 7/11's those days and men totally rested, women did make a main meal tho, but that was it. U left ur home only if u were going to another home, oh kids did play outside tho---winter or summer. And that was it. Sounds boring but it wasn't at all, I did have a good home so it was nice actually. Being Catholic u did have to go to church on Sundays and if u didn't by Catholicy rules u shouldn't leave ur house if u din't go to church. Sure got the kids motivated, since my dad wasn't Catholic he didn't care but my mom did so we all went. Even tho my mom didn't go I think she pushed it so she would have a little bit of quiet then. Plus my mom and dad get madday meal going cuz anyone would just call and come over, IDK maybe it was their "time" who knows. It was never questioned for sure.
OK back to the present. BTW I still have presents here and since everything was put away in the attic back to the more traditional plastic bags to use.Little Christmas is tomorrow so I'm really not late. Well I think it is.
Have a good day everyone
LUBS U ALL

Cami- that cat box video is hilarious! Great way to start the week!
You asked about the cleaning crew I think? Basically they come in and do a once over of the house, including some deep cleaning of the kitchen, bathrooms, and then they vacuum, dust everything, take out trash, etc. There are two gals and they take about 90 minutes to do my little home. Then I can keep up with the rest on a regular basis. I got the cleaning company back in 2012 when I had my health problems (bc and other things), and used them more often for awhile, and they have been coming monthly now for a number of years. I try to outsource what I can, given there are things to always do I must do, and it gives me space for those activities. I have some broken blinds that need to be replaced and its time for a new garbage disposal too.
I slowed down a bit yesterday, tired from a lot of work on Saturday but I did get both cars washed, groceries for my diet that begins today, and a few other things done to get new work going.
Wishing everyone a good day!
