Whew, you know more about the Easter bunny than I do, Deb! My mom is from Spain, Dad from Cuba so they didn't celebrate the "Bunny." They were so strict during Holy Week and I remember not being able to go to a Rick Springfied concert in high school because he was in town during Holy week. I thought I was the most deprived kid in town, lol!
Kids are back in school, so I just finished mopping, will go work out at 10:00 and come back and do bathrooms... then I'll have another cup of coffee.

Paula - I hope you get better soon!!!!!
Amy - very cool! Labs are great!
Laura - the fairy pic. website was very sweet, btw!

    Everyone, have a great day!!!!!!
    Lots of love...

paula...my immune system is shot too. i've had so many allergies, phlegm, the works...i too wonder about rads and my lungs. i've always been suceptible to bronchitis and allergies, but this year has been ridiculous. at least it's happening to both of us. i try not to be paranoid, but sometimes it's hard when i'm hacking. i see my doctor next week....i'm going to ask her if chemo/rads really changes one's immune system. i'll let you know what she says

just got back from my weight lifting class...i do it 2x a week. i spoke for a while with the instructor because she always checks to see how my arm is feeling...we talked a lot about weight lifting and lymphadema and she said that doctors aren't encouraging weight lifting enough as preventitive or helpful in stopping lymphadema. i've read research on it and it's true. thankfully, no swelling for me and i had 24 nodes removed. and my arm is getting more toned and stronger, so i think that's helping. just wanted to pass on that info...it's definitely a good thing to exercise even with lymphadema.

it's cold here again it was 80 last week!

i hope everyone had a good easter. have a good monday!!!

    Paula.. hope you feel better.
Oh my RoseMarie...you WERE deprived! As one of the only Jewish kids in the school, I always felt a lot different from the other kids. I used it to my benefit, though, sometimes!!!

Amy..I stand corrected..again when it comes to animals. We also say "kalbi" for "my dog" in Hebrew! I mean..nobody actually says that which is why I didn't know the correct grammar for it with the v and b since the word is kelev but when you add the "i" it changes it to "b". Well, I'm not up too much on the more advanced grammar but suffice to say that Arabic and Hebrew are very similar. I can listen to Arabs talking and catch words but not all the meaning. My dh understands arabic..simple arabic and can speak simple arabic. At any rate..it would be the same in Hebrew.

I seem to be having some trouble here with issues about animals lately!

I want to do some weight lifting. I did light dumb bells every day for years at home and that became too easy for me. Then I stopped and now they are heavy for me again. I should start that up again. I always felt in better shape. I feel like an old lady now with all these pains and everything "going down south".

I am a sucker for punishment, went out and bought the paint to do the front door to match the walls. It is going to look great but I am too tired to paint it tonight….crappy sleep last night.

Today is the first day that I forgot to take my medication…it bothered me all day. I remembered after I left for work and didn’t have any time to turn around and go back home again. I do know that since I have been taking Armidex for almost a year that one day is not going to hurt me….

Maryanne - I will post a picture of the front hallway once I’m done painting the door. The kitchen wont be done until next weekend so no pictures yet…. I have watched some of those reno shows and would love to be able to have taken a big wrecker and built a brand new house. Actually our home is comfy, just older but a nice home for a first time home buyer and has a beautiful lot. Love your new avtar.

Laura – okay I;m dumb, what did you mean by where is Ginger??? I;m totally so lost….or a dumb blond without the blond hair.LOL.

Amy – a lab puppy is going to be lots of work but they are sooooo cute and provide lots of championship. We love our dogs to pieces and they are so spoilt especially little scubs (her name is Scooby but she has so many nicknames). I like the name you have picked out. Summer is a great time to get a puppy too as it will be nice and warm to be able to house train the puppy although you probably don’t have to worry about the weather like we do here. Thanks for the news on exercising and lymphodema. I always thought that lifting weights was out obviously I was wrong…

Deb – glad to hear that you are okay. My hubby works shifts and we have no children just two dogs. We have lived out in the country here since 93 but I guess I am use to it as my hubby has always worked the shifts since we have been together. It is nice to see that another new drug has been FDA approved for her+2 cancers. Now all they need is to find a CURE yesterday!

Paula – I swear that chemo/rads have done some damage to my lungs too. I notice that when I breathe at night that I have a little bit of a weezing sound and have since chemo ended. Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Get better soon.

Hello to all my other sisters.

    Love
    Michele

    ravdeb -

    Amy -
Congrats on the puppy! I love puppy breath! LOL

    michele -
You're not dumb and you're not blonde! Did you ever watch Gilligan's Island? Good luck with the painting...please send me some of your energy!

    ------------------------------------

For those of you not feeling well...hope it all clears up soon!

Hope everyone's doing well! More later...

Amy, you are getting a lab puppy! I hope you are ready to fall in love. Above is a picture of Cola , at 6 months. I acn't find her baby pictures. I was unable to pick her up until 11 weeks so she arrived almost house-trained. You should read about crate training, it worked well with her and saved all our furniture and shoes. Labs LOVE to chew. They will eat ANYTHING. So if you are not watching when they are under two, well, they just might eat anything. I kept Cola in her crate unless I could supervise her for the first Year I think. Then I let her have the run of the house but only when I was home for a while. When she was about 1 1/2 I let her stay out of the crate even when I was out. I had a little crate when she was small and a large crate as an adult. After two we got rid of the crate and---she sleeps on the couch---very bad ,but she loves it. We only lost one shoe, half a bathing suit, millions of pencils and pens, all specks of food that hit the floor. She is a big, lovable dog. They need a walk every day or they will drive you crazy. Running around and nosing you for attention.

    Good Luck!

    Fists up!

OK, I am going to finally try and catch-up.

Laura, My sister want's us to go to Cozumel next year with her and her husband. I agree about the red meat, they inject the cattle with so many hormones. I'm not too worried I eat very little red meat. You are starting to sound like you drive like me.........lol......should we blame it on chemo? That chemo come's in handy once in a while....lol

Brenda, You may be a dollar short but it sound's like you had fun.

Michele, no mammo until June. Just a follow up visit with my Onc with probably blood work. It sound's like you are still really busy with your kitchen but it sound's like it will be beautiful when it is done. I can see why you wouldn't have too much trouble sleeping. You have to be exhausted.

Mary-Anne, I understand how scared you are about your hip but I think you have a higher chance of it being nothing. I really think chemo has ruined our bodies'. I have had more aches and pains in my bone's that I never had before. My husband has that same thing in his hip that you have and has had it awhile. It hurt's when he crosses his leg. Hopefully the scan you have tomorrow will give you peace of mind of NED. I think you should be the patient this time and let the doctor read your scan. I would be so scared reading my own scan. I have copies of my mammogram showing my tumor and it freak's me out to look at it, so I don't. BTW, your hair looks great and cola is adorable..

Ravdeb, That is some story about the Hamster........Must have been a BIG one........lol..Actually if it had white and black spot's it was probably a guinea pig. Gosh, I am going to have to read what you said about treatments causing reoccurrence. My MIL said yesterday that she would never have chemo if she had cancer because it does terrible thing's to your body. I think it was worth the risk, I think we did the right thing. Maryanne, thanks for helping to clear that up.

Kelly, that is really rude of your SIL to cancel babysitting and at the last minute no less. I couldn't even imagine doing that to someone, glad you had a back-up in David. I should get rid of Time Warner too. I am paying them over $100 a month. I keep it because I want the fast Internet service.

Debbie, I am glad you are home safe and sound. I have to say you are brave. You'll never get me in a balloon, at least I don't think so. Maybe if I was drunk.........lol .I have to say, the pictures are beautiful and I almost feel like I was up with you looking at the view.

Laura, Parasailed, you are brave too. That sound's even scarier to me but If I wasn't scared I bet it would be fun. I know how to water-ski though but I haven't done that in years.

TracyNY, Yippee, he finally came. It look's very nice too bad it won't fit into your bedroom. I guess you will have to move........lol.......Sorry you aren't feeling well.

Paula, I hope you are feeling better.

Amy, Thanks for the info on weightlifting. I have been doing some too. My doctor told me there are no restriction's so I feel like I am helping my arm as well.

Ok, I have got to quit. This is getting way too long.

Hi to everyone I missed and I will continue later........

Michele, I am hiring you to do My renos...

Amy, I followed" Good Owner, Great Dog", I think it was called. I have passed my copy off to someone, god knows who but any book store would carry it. It is a popular training book. My lab has a great bladder, now She only goes out three times a day. Wish I had that kind of control.

My biggest mistake was letting her on the bed when she was a puppy. Every morning when the kids were younger the day started in my bed with a snuggle. As she was the youngest she was invited too.Cute when she was a 20 pound puppy, Not when she is a 72 pound dog.. Now my morning snuggle includes Patrick and a miffed dog at the side of the bed. If I look away, she is up there. Not good for the white sheets!

    Fists up!

If you are going to Cozumel next year...look into the Iberostar! I stayed at both - the El Cozumeleno and the Iberostar, both were nice, but the Iberostar was amazing! What's funny is that MY car has the warning bells that sound when you are in reverse, but for some reason I din't hear them when I hit the friggin' wheelbarrow.

    michele -
I love the beige color - I just may have my basement painted that color!

Good morning. I'm trying to catch up here... Need to also get my dog outside.

Maryanne..what a cute picture! I love the stories about your dog wanting to join you on the bed. My dh would be furious. When Casey comes to my room, she is in dire need of attention or wants to go out. She never comes upstairs unless we aren't there and she wants to pee in my daughter's room or empty the garbage cans for us!

Michele..great pics. You tire me out!

Gail..is that a new avatar I see? Your hair is beautiful!

Paula..what's up? How are you doing?

Well, the holiday is over here finally. I had to switch my kitchen back and couldn't find my coffee this morning so that panicked me! I did find it. Whew!

I didn't sleep well last night and then when I finally fell asleep, my alarm went off. I had planned to take my son to the train and so I showered and got ready to go and saw that my daughter was leaving at the same time so I could have stayed in bed! She had told me she was going to leave later. So, she took him to the train and I could have slept! Oh well. maybe I'll be really tired tonight and sleep better tonight.

I plan to check out my beach today among other things. Am going to a concert that my girlfriend's daughter is singing in tonight. Should be nice...

    Have a good day everybody.

Wow - that took a lot of catching up !
That is one cute puppy picture, i love big dogs. I always thought that if we had a dog we would have a German Shepherd aas thats what i grew up with, but we got Sam - wouldnt swap him for the world now. We had him due to the space, and also if i cant get home in the day he doesnt really mind as he has enough space inside. I was looking for some of his puppy pics but i think it was before we went digital. Will have to learn to scan in.

We went to the 'seaside' yesterday to take Sam. We go to the East Coast as tehre is a beach there that dogs are allowed on all year. Sam doesnt really like the sea but we feel mean if we leave him behind. Its a standing joke that its always cold and cloudy there - it was sunny some of the time but Roger and myself spent a lot of time huddled in the beach tent while the kids braved the sea! Then on the way back we got stuck in the Bank Holiday Traffic so it was real British day out.
Easter night, we decided after our roast pork tea that it was far to nice an evening to stop in, so we went for a walk. We set off to look at the graveyard at the village church ( yes i know but i have a thing about them) as some of them date back to 1600. Then we followed a footpath we hadnt seen before, then we followed another to see the new nature reserve , etc etc. Before we knew it , it was dark and we were 8 miles from home. We ended up walking to my dads and asking him to drive us home. Now my ankles feel like they belong to a 90 year old.
My mountain bike comes today so we are hoping to get out more - hahahahahahahaha.

The ballooning has set me off - i fancy going zorbing now. Think i will lay some hints to Rog for next birthday.

Laura - the poor wheelbarrow. I havent hit anything for ages now. Should i risk saying that?
Michelle - the house is coming on. You wont want to leave it soon.
Deb - i hope the concert was good. Do you get special seats knowing the artist??
Amy - i need you to start thinking about what to see when i come to Washington on my speed tour of the US ! Luckily the kids are history buffs too so wont be trying to fit in 'kiddy' things. It amazes mw what Mark can remember about last time being as he was only 5. He remembers most of it - especially holding the civil war rifle and the Johnstown floods ( oh and the happy face cookies and eat as much as you can eat buffets!)
Ok - better go - have someone else coming for a sleepover later - i seem to be the town babysitter !!

Remembered to do the wedding pics. Cant scan in so have done the photo of a photo thing.I was never very happy with my pictures - i think because we got married at the beginning of Feb, the photographer was in a hurry to get everyone in out of the cold!! I had my dress made as none were long enough - my dad designed it and it didnt show well on the photos. It was buttercream with pink piping ( bridesmaid material), none of which shows, with a peplum on the back with our initials embroidered in tiny roses - again which doesnt show, and larger roses made out of both of the dresses materials - again which doesnt show!! Oh well, looked good from the back in church!! Some havent come out too well but here goes

Debbie, What a beautiful English wedding you had. Love the car. To me it look's like it belongs in a romantic English movie. I can see now how tall you both are but you compliment each other very well. I wish I was taller. My husband is 6 ft and I am slowly shrinking to 5'3". lol

Deb, I didn't sleep well last night either and my dh woke up with what seem's like the flu or a cold. I am praying I don't get it.

Yes, that is a new avatar but it is hard to see, kind of small. I lightened my hair but I think I kind of overdid it but at least I am starting to feel a little like the old me when I look

    Debbbie..what is zorbing?
I love the description of the dress and the fact that your dad designed it. I'm sure it's gorgeous up close but you look beautiful in the pic. I love the pictures. You remind me of my girlfriend when she got married many many years ago! She is tall, too.

The concert is tonight and my friend's daughter is in middle school. It's her choir singing. She does take voice lessons though. The whole family sings in some kind of group or with guitar except for my friend who can't carry a tune and we ask her NOT to sing! I was asked to try out for the choir that her husband sings in. They sing mostly classical musical and a bit of Hebrew. I don't really like to sing classical. I like classical music but I like to sing popular Hebrew music and was in a few choral groups over the years. But, I don't think I'll join this group. Too professional for me.

Gail..your hair looks very blonde and looks great! Glad you feel back to normal with it.

    Must run...

Debbie - Beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing - I love the Chimney Sweeps!

Amy - OMG a black Lab!!!! My dog, Killian is a black lab. He is 5 years old and I LOVE him to death. He lives with my Ex so I don't get to see him that much. He is a very well behaved dog and he has so much energy!!! Dave is not a dog guy which makes me sad because I really miss having a dog.... You are going to have so much fun with a puppy!

Where is Mary? Haven't seen her for a while!

Michelle - you are really doing a lot of cool things to your house! I wish I had energy for that!

Deb - I guess I am weird, but I love that Killian sleeps on the bed. He was the only one who would "snuggle" me when I was going thru chemo and felt crummy..... He does take up a lot of room on the bed, though.

Hey LE Girls - do you find that you have an "aching" that goes along with your LE when it is acting up? My PT tells me that there is no pain associated with it, but I swear that I can feel it and that my arm aches.... I have my sleeve now and I notice that when I wear it my arm does feel better. Of course, I was wearing the sleeve without the glove (because the glove looks stupid) and my hand was swelling so I have to wear the glove too.

I also broke down and ordered a LE bracelet. I found one that is black & silver beads w/ a smaller medic alert plate so that it looks a little more dressy than the regular medic alert bracelets. It says: LYMPHADEMA ALERT NO BP OR NEEDLES IN LEFT ARM. But I am wearing it on my right arm because my left arm has the sleeve and the glove.

Well - off to work with me. Have a good day my sisters....

    ((hugs)) to all of you!

Gail - you kinda look the same now as you did before. Looking at you no one would dream what you have been through and come out the other side !
Zorbing - its fantatstic. Its sort of like being rolled down hill in a giant inflated hamster ball ( perhaps it belongs to the giant hamster that lives in Israel?? - sorry Deb!) You can either do it dry or wet but the thought of being thrown about in the equivalent of a wasing machine doesnt appeal.
Ok - let me in on the secret - why does my wedding look British? Apart from the grey sky i mean!?

Thought this would appeal - this is a photo of my friend Jane getting married in a small Welsh chapel on the Gower. Her parents are Scottish - hence the kilts , they lived in Wales hence the chapel , but she and her husband live in Bejjing where she had her dress tailored and it is Chinese silk covered in gold dragons to link Wales and China. They had two wedding cakes as Jane desparately wanted a chocolate cake but her mother in law made wedding cakes and wanted to do them a trad fruit cake so they ended up having both to smooth things along

Debbie, I think your wedding looks British because of your husband's top hat. Wow! And the long coat tails. And the chimney sweeps. None of those things are a tradition in the US, or at least not in the Midwest where I'm from!

My husband wore his kilt for our wedding. I actually suggested it because I didn't want to get married to a guy wearing jeans. Also I wear dresses so infrequently, I wanted some of the attention off me. (My "wedding" dress was a comfy sage green thing I wore for job interviews.) (Our wedding was a spur-of-the-moment thing in a courthouse.)

Joel *did* wear underwear under his kilt (which is not traditional as I understand it) because he was afraid his dad might flip up his skirt. LOL

Laura, you were asking for the recipe:

Get one of those martini shakers, pour in some vodka, pour in some Diet Sprite, squeeze in some lemon juice and do the Hokey Pokey ...... then pour it into a sugar rimmed martini glass, add a piece of lemon candy (a real lemon drop candy)!

Don't forget the Hokey Pokey part!!

Your photos look British because of the elegance of the car, the top hats & sweeps. Your dress and bouquet are beautiful! Is your Dad a DZINER or is he just naturally creative?

Love the kilts in the pic of your friend's wedding, Deb.

Yes..what Laura said makes it look British. It is definitely not something you'd see at an Israeli wedding!

Cindy..they don't wear underwear under those kilts??? Oh MY! I didn't know that! It can get quite windy in Scotland!!

I am home from the concert and going to bed. There was a choir of young adults in their 20's from England who were superb. Then the group of 14 years old that my friend's daughter sings in and a group of 14 year old Arab girls (and 2 boys) as well. It was done beautifully. And lovely to see the Arab and Jewish girls singing together, as well. Some have become friends. Now THAT's a way to make a difference in this world.

I am still unclear about zorbing. I think I need a pic.

Dogs on beds are fine...just that my dh is totally against it. He gets mad when Casey is in the house and she gets kicked outside when he comes home.

V..hope you get going on your artwork. I plan to work on some art tomorrow, too!

Gotta go to bed. Will get on in the morning with my coffee.
    G'nite!
